The Team at the Real Health Co. shares a weekly message to help you center yourself and start your week off strong!
Recently, I turned 40, and the symbolism of 40 was resonating in my heart and my mind and my spirit, and I was processing, what does this next season look like? What does the number 40 mean biblically? And how can this apply to the season of life you're in. So this week, in today's Manna Monday, I want you to process this idea of forty days. Now for me, obviously, I've been around for forty years, but forty is a period of time that's very symbolic scripturally.
Dr. Barrett:We see that 40 is like a spiritual crossroads. It's a time, either forty days or forty years, but it's a time to pause and reflect. The question I would ask is, "are you walking in God's purpose, or is it time to shift?" That's question I was asked myself at 40 years old. "Hey, is it pause, reflect," is this a season where I can say, "hey, I'm walking in God's purpose, or do I need a pivot?"
Dr. Barrett:Psalms 90 verse 12 says, to teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom. You know, there's many biblical leaders went through forty day journeys. Alright? Moses spent forty days on the mountain. Jesus spent forty days in the wilderness.
Dr. Barrett:We see forty years of Moses' life where he was forty years in Egypt, forty years in Midian, and forty years in the wilderness. And each each season had its completion. When we look at forty or forty years, forty days, it's a it's a time of spiritual refinement too. We see this time in which Jesus spent forty days of being tested and tried and true to where he then walked into the fullness of his ministry. Know, biblically, forty marks the end of one season and the start of another.
Dr. Barrett:It really can be a launching point for legacy, for transformation, for purpose driven life. And so, what I would challenge you is, is there anything in your life that you're not disciplined in? And would you consider doing something every day for forty days? So let's just say it's health topic. Right?
Dr. Barrett:Food change. Maybe it's journaling. Maybe it's a gratitude journal. Would you do that for forty days? Maybe it's a relationship you wanna invest in.
Dr. Barrett:Would you consider doing that for forty days? And and as you spend time every day, forty days in a row, it can really launch you into a new season. And so if you're turning 40, like I am sooner than later, or if you want to turn a season into a 40, if you wanna turn your season into a season that reflects an offspring, a new beginning, then questions that I would ask would be ask God what he's preparing you for. Spend the next forty days processing. If you don't feel like you're fulfilling the purpose of God in your life, ask a simple question.
Dr. Barrett:God, what are you preparing me for? Then spend the next forty days journaling. This is a time to maybe even recommit to your purpose, to your destiny, to what God's called you to. Spend the next forty days and spend every morning in prayer. Every single morning.
Dr. Barrett:Maybe it's restoring relationship, and marriage particularly. Spend every night, forty nights in a row, praying for your wife, praying over your wife. And again, maybe it's a health topic, and you spend every day, forty days in a row, and you need to run a mile every day. Walk 10,000 steps every day. Eat paleo every day.
Dr. Barrett:It's not about six days a week. It's about forty days in a row. And I and I do believe that forty days is not just symbolic, but it's enough time that will change the way you see it, to feel it, and inevitably it'll just become a part beat.
