We’re two entrepreneurs who want to grow — but every time someone calls themselves a ‘coach,’ our fight-or-flight kicks in. So, naturally, we started a podcast. Each episode, we interview a coach. Not because we believe... but because we’re testing our own skepticism. Making ourselves uncomfortable. Hunting for the signal in all the noise.
It’s for people who hate the fluff, but still want to get better. It’s for skeptics, smartasses, and anyone allergic to buzzwords.
I wish I was coachable.
Rhys:I'm incredibly skeptical of the coaching industry. Hello. My name is Rhys Waters. I am, at time of recording, 40 years old. I've been an entrepreneur since my early twenties.
Jonathan:I swear Rhys is always just starting. He's all set.
Jonathan:That said, the finish is a bit of a challenge.
Jonathan:To introduce myself, my name is Jon Burns. I've been an entrepreneur for much longer than Rhys. I'm a challenger. I'm typically the first to look at things with a skeptical view, I guess, but I'm also an optimist. The coaching industry has exploded.
Jonathan:And I challenge that in nature, which is to say, what qualifies you to tell me how to be better? You don't even know what my baseline is.
Rhys:One of my first ever experiences with a with a coach, talking to us about how his company had grown and how he just bought his first Porsche. He was like, wow. This guy's really successful. After the networking event, he was getting in this battered, rusty, old Vauxhall Astra, an affordable small family vehicle. We want to be better.
Rhys:We wanna move forward and keep growing.
Jonathan:Uncoachable is going to be released every single month with a new coach, a new idea, a new approach, and a new takeaway.
Rhys:Hi. I'm Jon. I'm Rhys. And he's uncoachable.
Jonathan:The best place to find this podcast is wherever you find podcasts.
Rhys:That's where I'd start. And if you're on LinkedIn, you'll love this.
