One Gospel Minute

Faith is meant to grow—but growth often comes through the challenges we would rather avoid. Moses could have allowed his limitations to keep him from faithful service, but instead, he faced the challenge and placed his confidence in the Lord. Christians today have that same assurance: God will not leave or forsake His people.

David Hill: You know, the Christian is expected to grow in faith. Hi, I’m David Hill. Got a minute?

To grow in faith, one must face and overcome the challenges of life. One of the greatest of God’s leaders, Moses, Deuteronomy 34:10, had to overcome challenges. He was slow of speech and could have let that keep him from faithful duty, but he increased his faith by facing the challenge and placing his confidence in the Lord.

Jesus gave just such assurance to His followers in Matthew 28:20. He said, “Go and make disciples of all nations, and I’ll be with you.” That’s assurance.

Facing the challenge that’s before us. Put Him to the test. Faith grows.

The assurance of God to His people: “I’ll never leave you or forsake you,” Hebrews 13:5.

Like Moses of old, the Christian should hear the words of God, face individual challenges, and overcome them through faith in Jesus Christ.

That’s the Gospel.
