In the next episode, we're diving from the hot pan straight into the flames of a different fire with Carmina Trisic, a professional demystifier of mysteries who helps others unlock their potential through creativity, imagination, palmistry, tarot, and numerology. This show is about pushing boundaries into the unknown, discovering who we truly are, and celebrating the moments that make us feel alive. Let's get started.
Colleen 00:41
Hi there, everyone. This is Colleen with The Alighted Way, and today I'm being joined by Carmina Trisic. And I just want to give you a little bit of a little short bio on her. Carmina considers herself a professional demystifier of mysteries. She has discovered that trusting doubt and engaging in activities such as creativity, imagination, palmistry, tarot, and numerology allow her to unlock her spiritual potential. Now she assists others in discovering their own potential by discovering these mysteries as well. You can reach out to her at Divine Mind in Calgary, Alberta, for more in-depth sessions. We'll have that link in our show notes, so we got that. But before I start the interview with Carmina, I just want to let you know how we know each other. I had one of my first tarot card readings with Carmina back in the early 2020s, right before the COVID shutdown happened, and that experience was-I don't know how you could-it was life-changing for me. I really opened up my spirituality. To be honest, it was really true. That's what she offers, and it delivered for me, anyways. And ever since then, I have become a tarot card reader as well, and really have explored my spiritual side, and I do give Carmina some credit for that. Enough about that. We will.
Carmina 01:04
Oh, you're more than welcome.
Colleen 02:10
We're going to jump into this interview then with Carmina about her dragons, and there's some really interesting things coming up. I think we're going to start with hi, Carmina. Welcome.
Carmina 02:24
Well, thank you for inviting me.
Colleen 02:27
Oh, pleasure to have you here. So, how did it all begin? How did dragons first enter your world?
Carmina 02:36
Well, I mean, I've always looked into life a little bit mystical. I, as a little girl, you know, magic and imagination has always been there. I was raised by artists and scientists, so I had a little bit of both sides and non-formal education as well. For example, I wasn't formally educated, as you. I was homeschooled by an artist, and you know, I so my mind was always looking for ways to interpret life with my imagination. Over the years, as I got to know more about being an adult and trying to fit into the world as a conscious human with making real life decisions, it was extremely difficult, as you can imagine, because then the imagination doesn't really make sense, but it does if you let it. So, and one of the things that made sense to me was discovering that I was born in 1964, which makes me wood dragon, and that gave me a sense of like, hey, I can relate. Of course, I can relate to the dragons because I embody that idea of the Chinese new, you know, concept of the dragon, which is a lot of layers that I don't know depth of, but they gave me a sense of like, hey, I'm a dragon, and that's why I can't do certain things because I live in a cave and I hoard things and I look for shiny bits and and I'm just like the dragon, so I became a kind of dragon type personality, and I accepted that. And so over the years, again growing up and growing up, I was in a situation with my family, and I was walk on a hill or a beautiful hill in in Chile, and I come across a piece of wood that is shaped exactly like a dragon, and I was like, "What? And that was before I related to dragon, the year of birth. So that I took that home, and that it's with me right here in front of me, and it's always been with me as a reminder that. And at that time, I was very lonely, and I was very confused. And he became my fortunate companion, and he watched over me, and he just it gave me a sense of comfort that the nature and the wood became a dragon. Wow! You know, and it just like wait a minute, that's a wood dragon. It adds up, and then it keeps adding up, and then one time when. In a in a park, and again, I was really like going bananas, trying to fit into this earth realm, you know. And I was playing with the leaves because I love leaves and the sound, and I was covering myself up with a bunch of leaves and bunch of leaves, and then all of a sudden, I was underneath this bunch of leaves in the park here in Calgary somewhere a long time ago, and I saw a dragon staring at me, and I was like, "It didn't last long, but it was like, whoa! I better get out of these leaves. I don't know what's going on. So I rushed out of the leaves. I was like, but I never forgot it. It was like, and again, I was very alone at the time. You can imagine fitting in. You know, I mean, it was weird, just odd. You know, so these signs, these this this dragon kept popping up everywhere. And then I went to art school, of course, and I met three two dragons. So we were the three dragons, right? So I was Virgo. One was Cancer, and one was Aquarius, and it was like the dragon girls. Yeah, and so that became another symbol because yeah, the unity of of how we relate to each other was very mystical and and a little bit odd in a sense, we we clicked, you know. But we were very independent. We had our own dungeons full of stuff, you know. Like we were all very very strange girls. Anyway, story goes on and on and on, and the dragon became a symbol of of who I am. Not that I have a dragon. I feel like I can relate to being like a dragon.
Colleen 06:44
Oh, interesting. Okay,
Carmina 06:46
right. I don't have one dragon. I just they pop out.
Colleen 06:49
Right. Oh, so they kind of like they're just just like here's the dragon, and then it's in your life and reminds you maybe of who you are, and then off it goes, and then another one. Is that how it works?
Carmina 07:03
Yeah,
Colleen 07:03
yeah.
Carmina 07:04
And then, unfortunately, when my brother passed, he was quite young, and and I was really disappointed because I felt he wasn't there. But then he showed up in the clouds, and he started to give me symbols in the clouds, and so either I would like be in a moment, and I'd be lost, and he'd make cloud look like a finger go that way. You're lost. Go back. Turn around. Or he would bring me a rainbow, like you're not feeling good today. Okay, here here's a rainbow. And then one time I was like contemplating outside, and there was a dragon, like a white dragon in the clouds, you see, and it was just oh, there's my brother. He's giving me that symbol again, or symbols, you know, through the clouds. So I feel like the dragon for me lives in the mystical, ethereal realm, and he can it can be anything. You can take it in any way you want.
Colleen 08:03
I love that for you. It's like it's much more. You're embodying it. You're embodying the the dragon. You're the dragon within.
Carmina 08:14
Exactly. And people like people used to you. You sometimes would tell me you're really scary, Carmina. I I I don't like it when you're in the room because it's like you see me and you see right through me, and I'm like, "What are you talking about? I don't scare anybody. I'm short, you know. I'm not that, you know. I don't look like that, but apparently I have this like look, and I'm like, "Oh, and I'm very quiet sometimes, and I just look at people a lot. I don't say a lot until I need to, and then when I say something, it's like wah, like you know, it's like fire came out of my mouth, and people are like, "Ooh, we didn't think you were like that, or something like that, or or they'll say things, "Oh my God, we broke her, you know. It's like, "Oh
Colleen 08:54
wow,
Carmina 08:55
it's really funny.
Colleen 08:56
Oh, so they're seeing, they're picking up on the dragon energy, yeah,
Carmina 09:01
yeah, because the dragon's like it's like an energy that kind of lives within, like in a cave. Like the idea that it lives alone in a cave, and all these mystical, like mythical stories. You know, like you can read about. But yeah, that's how it feels. It's like I'm always in a cave, and when I come out, is like oh, and I'm not-I'm a wood dragon, so I'm not really scary, you know. I'm not a fire dragon or anything.
Colleen 09:32
Oh, well, that's good.
Carmina 09:34
Yeah, but I've come to understand that that sometimes having a symbol to represent you, whether it's from our culture or another culture, it's part of the collective cultural understanding of who we are as a collective psychologically.
Colleen 09:50
Okay,
Carmina 09:52
psychologically, we relate to certain signs of the zodiac, for example, and Chinese zodiac is. Not the same as our as you know the Western, but and that's another thing that I found out about quite recently. I was being learning about stuff through Matias De Stefano, and he said something that was really fascinating about the dragon because so many stories have been said that oh you got to slay the dragon and you save the princess, and you know it's this terrible idea of it, right? And I never really connected with that idea. It's like, why would you slay the dragon? No,
Colleen 10:32
I've same. Like,
Carmina 10:34
how do you do it?
Colleen 10:35
Yeah, I
Carmina 10:36
thought like that.
Colleen 10:37
No, it's it's different. Yeah,
Carmina 10:40
what he explained is that China went to war with someone long, long time ago, and and during that's what this mythology was created from was the idea that we have to slay the dragon because they represent the war with China and some other whatever I don't know who it was, some country, another country, and so Europe took it like, oh, we got to save the damsel, meaning we have to say we have to win the war.
Colleen 11:11
Oh, interesting, interesting take. Yeah. Okay.
Carmina 11:14
So then the dragon became this in the Western world, like this terrible creature.
Colleen 11:20
Yes.
Carmina 11:20
But Chinese people consider it very sacred. Like it's one of their favorite symbols, like Chinese New Year. Like it's fabulous, right? So that that changed my mind completely to another level of like what I didn't know that.
Colleen 11:36
Oh, yeah,
Carmina 11:38
it really opened my mind. It was like thank you,
Colleen 11:41
yeah. I'll have to get that name from you again, so we can put that in the show notes.
Carmina 11:47
And then, because they he talked about astrology and how the zodiac is zoo, like as Z o o, meaning part the word zodiac, right? So zodiac is the idea that the zoo represents all these animals, and according to this this this knowing, is that the dragon is Draco, and Draco is in the middle of all the other 12 constellations. Draco is a constellation, so the word Draco is where the word dragon comes from etymologically, and Draco means the watcher because the idea is that the constellation looks like it's watching all the other ones going in like the whole zodiac, but the Draco from the middle. Then the embodiment of Draco became dragon, which is the the scales, the tail, the hooves, the nose, the like he it embodies so many of the animals, right? It's a mythical animal.
Colleen 12:52
You're blowing my mind right now, right?
Carmina 12:54
It blew my mind. Just even blew my mind. The zoo zodiac zoo animals. Oh my gosh! So that is the idea that when you watch and you analyze or or understand why we are so connected to the zodiac. Why? Oh well, I'm a Virgo. Oh no, yeah, I'm Aquarius. And what the watcher is saying, the dragon in the middle is saying, "No, you are in the middle watching all of them. You're part of the whole thing, right?
Colleen 13:28
Oh, and that's why
Carmina 13:29
when you're when you are a dragon like me, I'm still a Virgo. But it's like, hey, wait! I have this little thing inside of me that I can use that as a tool. Like everybody can, I'm not special. I'm just like everybody can use the idea of watching and being aware of all the zoology, all the mythology. Why it takes this this perspective? It's a tool. It's a great tool that I use now every day.
Colleen 13:58
That's amazing. That's wonderful. I love it. I love it,
Carmina 14:03
and that's when I started realizing that I channel dragons when I do portraits.
Colleen 14:08
Great, yeah, which is great because that's the next one of the next questions I wanted to ask you about was about your portraits.
Carmina 14:16
Well, when you do a portrait, you can either do the left side profile. I mean, I can the left or the right profile. Why do I pick the profile? Because it's the part of you you can't see, and as a dragon, apparently I want to see everything, right? If you say, "Well, I want to see my left side, okay, then I'll do your portrait. I'll start with your left, and then I'll get a message, or or my hand will just do stuff, right? And I start to to see you as you maybe say how you see yourself, and if you do the other side, maybe it's how you present yourself.
Colleen 14:58
Interesting
Carmina 14:59
sides That we show to the world are kind of unseen. We don't know how we project ourselves. So I channel the idea of what does your spirit guide tell me to tell you?
Colleen 15:11
Okay, okay,
Carmina 15:13
yeah. I'm inventing. I'm imagining. I'm creating an idea, but I'm also connecting with the collective, which is all of us, right? With dragon is the idea that we're collective. We're we're not separate constellations. We're one humongous galaxy, and maybe beyond things we don't even know, right? So
Colleen 15:33
absolutely, absolutely. Oh wow! Yeah. So just a little note for our audience: these images, and I believe I have one that you sent me that we'll put in the show notes. But it's an image of a person's side profile, like she was just mentioning, and then there's a little a dragon, kind of hovering around it. Then it's they're just beautiful, beautiful images and portraits. Just, just wanted to let everybody know what that the dragon portraits are. You're connecting more with the the collective conscious collective collective consciousness, I guess.
Carmina 16:14
I would think so.
Colleen 16:15
Yeah,
Carmina 16:15
I think so.
Colleen 16:16
And you you don't normally talk to the people, do you when you're doing this? You're just you're off.
Carmina 16:24
I'm off on my own little world. I just get your photograph and you send me your profile, or we can do it in person. But it only takes two or three minutes, and then I just sort of center myself and and ask myself, what do I see?
Colleen 16:38
Right.
Carmina 16:39
You know, I've been I've been thoroughly trained on being creative, so I have no problem. You know, it was like, and my mother was dyslexic of all things. She was homeschooling me. Okay, right. Basically, she taught, and she was an art teacher on top of everything. I have this really strong idea that when you draw, You connect to the spider. The idea of the the red the network. You know the the spider weaving lines, putting things like adding this and this and this. How people channel, right? Like we all channel daily, every day. But the way that I channel is like say the line on the paper, and the paper is made of wood, and the paper and the ink is this, and then there's water there, and then there's air, and then all these elements you see are combining with me. I'm not alone here. I'm working with particles and atomic frequencies that I have no idea how they're playing with me? Because, for example, if I say do automatic drawings, I'll get a dragon out of nowhere. Like it will just pop.
Colleen 17:51
Amazing!
Carmina 17:52
It'll just pop. It was like there it is. Oh my god!
Colleen 17:57
Wow, that's it's so connected. Everything is so connected. One other question I wanted to ask you was: Do you use your your dragons within tarot work, or do you use your dragon energy? Or you mean you must because the way you're explaining it is it's very central to your observations around you.
Carmina 18:17
Yeah, he's my constant companion, and watches over me constantly. And when I get too much in my head, when I get too much in, like I think I need to know something. I think I need to be clear on what I'm knowing. It's like forget it. You know nothing, and you have you you don't you're not supposed to know. You're supposed to create. Remember that. You're supposed to imagine. You're supposed to connect to the dragon. So that means that if you start to analyze too much and say, "I think I know what you're going through, and I think I no, I don't think anything. Basically, I have to go into a blank state and trust that any doubt that I may have, say starting a reading and between the reading, halfway across the reading, doubt is my best friend because the minute you start to say I am this and that only, I am a professional tarot reader. Okay, great. Now destroy that, invent that in front of that person right now. You know, put fire, burn it, burn it now, because each human being that walks through that door is an individual. If I have a preconception about how I'm going to interpret their reading or their energy, because you know, when you walk beside someone, their their molecular structure is already around your aura, right? So you can't know what they're going to be like when you they don't until you see them. And I never touch the cards. I say you take, you pick the cards. I don't want to know. You touch them, you pick them, and half the time they're picking the same cards over and over, and they're like. I don't understand, Carmina. How come that it's the magic?
Colleen 20:03
Yes. Yeah.
Carmina 20:04
It's the magic. It's always there, and the dragon always brings it. That's how I know I'm always in the dragon.
Colleen 20:13
That's amazing. I love it. Does your dragon have any messages it wants to share with us today?
Carmina 20:19
Oh yes.
Colleen 20:20
Oh fantastic.
Carmina 20:23
See, this is where I have to go blank for a minute. Okay,
Colleen 20:26
go ahead, go ahead.
Carmina 20:29
The mind, the mind is is a really expansive tool without definitions, without limits, and if you limit your way, who, how you think you are, or who you think you should be, or for example, if you think I am Carmina and that's it, then that's it. I can limit my mind, or I can expand my mind, right? And the idea is that when you expand your mind, you look like a fool. You look like a crazy person because suddenly, and that's the joy of it, right? That's the trust. Is that when you allow yourself to walk, say, the edge of something, that the the card is the the seed. When you have potential within yourself, and you say, "Okay, I allow my mind to expand, and I throw the seed into the world, and I don't care if it grows, and I don't care because if I care, then I'm watching it. I'm going to watch that seed until it grows, until I see, okay, that's my future. That that's going to be worth it. I'm going to love that person. I'm going to fall in love only because I think they're going to give me everything I want, and I'm like, no. Because you know, choosing to fall in love is is just the seed in the wind. It's like you don't know if it's going to feed a fish or create a forest, or what are you going? How dare you to limit the dragon? How dare you? You know, like you can't limit me, you know.
Colleen 22:03
Wow, wow.
Carmina 22:05
So the seed of your potential is is is always entrusting that you could die, you could you could fall, you could you could lose, you could fail, all of those things, and that makes Dragon extremely happy because it means that you're allowing spirit to to navigate the ship, right? Your spirit, not some spirit out there. It's like your spirit.
Colleen 22:29
Wow, that's amazing! Thank you, thank you, dragon. Thank you.
Carmina 22:34
You're welcome.
Colleen 22:36
In a bigger picture, why do you think dragons are showing up for people right now.
Carmina 22:44
I think. I think because they represent darkness in a collective sort of way, they they're not always considered an animal that I would or consider something comfortable. I think dragon comes when we need to see what's hidden. What's you know what's in that cave of yours? What's going on in there? What are you afraid of? Okay, so you're afraid of politics. You're afraid of religion. What are you afraid of? You know, you have to be able to let the dragon squeeze that out of you somehow. You know, so I think that that may be why because we see people going through stuff and we think it's out there, but it's how we face that fear inside ourselves is how we can maybe heal it for others. And so, Dragon is like always wants to watch you do it, like get it out of you. You know, transmute it, change it. If if you're stuck in in say, I don't know, being a Virgo or or a Libra or something, go to the other constellations, get some tools, get your you know, don't get so stuck in who you think you are. Use all the tools. We have 12 tools plus one. We have a lot of tools, and every zodiac sign is a major psychological opportunity to embody all of them, not just be one of them. You know, oh, I'm like that because I'm like that. You know, no, you're not. They're not defining you. Dragons would never say you are just that. You are all like just like the dragon. It's like I'm a fish. I'm a pig. I'm a this. I'm a that. I'm all of them. And so are you.
Colleen 24:33
Oh wow, that's really amazing. I I love that. I hope our I hope our listeners are get will get something from that because I did. So thank you, I appreciate that so much. I think we have to wrap up now, but I just wanted to say thank you so much for taking the time to talk to us, and I'm going to just put your. Information, like I say, we'll put it on the show notes about where people can find you and your dragon portraits. I got you for your dragon portraits. So
Carmina 25:08
I got you, I got you. I'm gonna make one for you.
Colleen 25:12
Oh, right now? Did you just do it right now?
Carmina 25:17
I could, but it would take a little longer. But you could send me your profile.
Colleen 25:22
Oh, I could, yes,
Carmina 25:24
and I'll do you a portrait.
Colleen 25:28
Oh, that would be awesome. And then, yeah, we'll put that one up for sure.
Carmina 25:32
And that'll be my my little gift for you.
Carmina 25:35
Oh, for inviting me today.
Colleen 25:37
Oh, thank you so much. That's so sweet.
Carmina 25:40
And we'll connect at some other time.
Colleen 25:43
Oh, for sure, for sure. Yes, it's been a delight. Thank you very much.
Carmina 25:49
Thank you.
