Daily(ish)

I’m recording a quick, abridged Dailyish episode on my phone because my computer is in use and I couldn’t get to the office, so this may end up audio-only. I’m trying to read Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson on my Kobo, but I’m feeling conflicted about committing to such a long book when I could read two or three other library books in the same time

I edit podcasts so you don't have to. I live in Saskatchewan so you don't have to?

What is Daily(ish)?

Challenging myself to record a podcast episode a day for my 50th year on this planet.

Speaker: Hello, this is Dailyish in,
uh, abridged quick form because my

computer is in use today and I haven't
been able to get to the office, so

I'm just recording with my phone.

And I'll see if the video version
works, but if not, it might

just be an audio-only version.

Uh, I am trying to read my book, Kobo, uh,
book, Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson,

and I've been having the feeling that,
like, I'm kind of-- As, as more and more

library books pass me by or on hold or
sus-- No, sorry, I have to suspend the

hold in Libby, and so they're there.

Technically, I can get
them sometime eventually.

But I feel like in the time that it
would take me to finish a Brandon

Sanderson book, I could have read two
or three other books, and I'm kind

of wondering about my life choices
right now because I've got this and

then there's another one and I think
there's at least one or two more in this

series, and they're all insanely long.

And I, like, I, I do enjoy them,
but man, is it a bit of a slog to…

I, I kinda like the feeling
of, uh, finishing a book.

It-- That's a nice achievement and
you just don't get that satisfaction,

especially for as slow as I'm reading
these days, given all of the things in

life as well as digital distractions.

Um, and so, yeah, I'm, I'm gonna
finish Oathbringer I think, but

I might have to try and pause.

It's just that there's so many different
stories and names and people, things

to try and keep track of and who has
what power and all that kind of stuff

that I worry if I stop reading it, I'm
gonna forget what happened and it's

gonna be even harder to get into it.

So anyways, very first-world
problems of course, but that's

where I'm at with reading right now.

So it's a beautiful October
day, October fourth, Sunday.

Did I say that in the beginning?

I think I forgot.

Anyways, uh, I don't have my script
in front of me that I usually read

off of to start and end the podcast.

But that's it for today.

Got one done.

I was gonna give up and just not do
one 'cause it's been a day, but decided

to try, so hopefully this works.

this on social media, on YouTube.

And yeah, thanks for listening.

Have a great day.

See you tomorrow.

Bye.
