what's up everybody it's happy fourth of

july weekend and i'm not okay

From the gym to the screen, yeah,

we cover it all.

Midday motivation every time you press

ball.

Lunch with the Clydesdale.

Cowboy bring the heat.

Crossfit, boobies, music on repeat.

Half hour hustle, yeah,

we building that brand.

Grab a plate, tune in now,

you part of the fam.

it's lunch time what is going on everybody

welcome to lunch with the Clydesdale I

don't know if you can see it on

my face I have been working on this

federal holiday Friday uh to work on my

patio it's so freaking hot here um

so hot so hot i've been working since

say thirty nine o'clock this morning

pouring cement and i just finished right

before the show so um so i'm here

i'm not saying okay it's like ninety eight

degrees um not the boy band but the

temperature and uh i've got cement poured

I got to do one more thing,

and then I'm showering,

getting out of these clothes.

I probably stink so bad.

It's just a good thing nobody is in

the podcast center with me.

No glasses today.

Yeah, I am so sweaty, Vicki.

If I put them on,

they would fog up immediately.

I didn't prepare for today's show,

so we're just going to sit here and

have a chat.

And...

And whatever happens, happens.

I can't see notes anyway.

So there we go.

Meredith, thank you so much.

Excellent interview yesterday.

She was a hoot.

She really was.

What a fun time.

again, when she was on American Gladiator,

I said to myself, man,

I know I've met her.

I know that I know her.

And so I'd started doing this deep dive

into like who she was.

And then I found some things where we

were at the same competition at the same

time.

And then yesterday I learned there was

even more we were at at the same

time.

So yeah, what a fun time.

And

there's something about a person that has

that like contagious laugh that just makes

your day better.

Um, and she has that.

And I, I had so much fun.

I think the plan is actually for Corey

and I to do one guest a week

for now and just have some,

just to change it up a little bit.

The games are going to happen in a

couple of weeks and then, um,

And then we're going to get into the

slow period.

So, um,

but I'm hoping my guests are willing to

go off the rails because that's what the

show has become.

That's what I love about this show.

And, uh, and Bailey jumped in feet first,

deep end the whole bit.

A rotating third.

I don't know if it'll be consistent as

to who that third will be.

Um,

And if you guys have any suggestions,

throw them out to us because I'll reach

out to whoever.

But yeah,

so I've already booked next week,

next Friday.

Next Friday,

we're doing a crossover show with the

Glintons.

So, um,

so it would be us in the glintons

on next Friday,

hanging out right before the games,

kind of talking about all that stuff.

Plus I find them to be a fascinating

couple and I want to know more.

So that's pretty much how my interviews

go.

If I see somebody that I think is

interesting and I just want to know more,

that's kind of what, um,

That's kind of what I'm looking for.

Kenneth, we may simulcast.

I used to do it with Hattie on

her channel, but it's been a minute.

So if we can figure it out,

it may be a simulcast.

So Mark the Cajun Cowboy.

stealing that from Corey already.

Guy didn't show up for a day.

And so now Mark's stealing his acronym or

his moniker.

That's it, moniker.

So anybody else do anything fun for the

fourth?

We're, you know,

we had contemplated doing the wallflowers

tonight.

still may still may um but damn it

i'm so smoked like that the the

temperature just wiped me it's gonna have

to cool down a bit before um before

i go out in the sun again tonight

so uh no look at his message before

mine

Okay.

Bailey was excellent.

Very natural conversationalist.

Made a great listen.

How is the Cowboy and not Cajun?

Just boggles my mind.

The Cowboy came not from us.

Not from us at all.

That was Savan and

And if you didn't hear the story,

Siobhan said he drives his kids to tennis

or jujitsu or whatever.

And he listens to our show a couple

of days a week.

And when he listens to the show,

he says,

Corey reminds me of a guy who would

have a horse tied up in front of

his house.

And so he just started calling the cowboy

and that's, that's,

that's how it happened.

And it just stuck.

When Corey first came on,

we just called him Cajun Corey.

It was the Clydesdale and Cajun Corey.

And then it switched to the cowboy,

which actually fits together with a horse.

So we just ran with it.

It's all about the alliteration.

All about the alliteration.

Uh,

we're watching independent state tonight,

but it'll probably need to be split into

knowing us.

Need to get Claire Bay's wrestler fiance

on here.

It's a possibility.

Um,

Seema's on wildfire duty,

working all weekend.

Is that what you do, Seema?

Are you a wildfire fighter or are you

like an accessory to the fire team?

The guy my daughter is kind of dating

is on wildfire duty in Arizona right now.

All fireworks are canceled in Colorado.

Wow.

Wow.

We've had so much rain until this week.

So much rain.

So much rain.

So I think they're all still going on.

Judy Reed, I like your shirt, Scott.

Yeah, me too.

I've had this, gosh, a while now.

Love this shirt.

So...

I'll be honest with you guys.

I've been completely,

completely unplugged from the CrossFit

piece.

I did see like a thing on Instagram

where Dave revealed to girls unfiltered a

backflip.

I don't know how I feel about it.

I don't know if they're truly going to

do a backflip.

Um,

How do you incorporate that in the

workout?

I just...

My first reaction to the backflip is,

oh gosh, one step closer to grid.

But I don't know how they're going to

use it.

So...

He had to be kidding, right?

I wouldn't put it past Dave to be

kidding.

I wouldn't.

But he did promise new movements.

And I bet.

Seventy five percent of the athletes can

do a backflip.

That sounds like tumbling glass.

No, thanks.

Yeah,

we were actually talking to Bailey after

the show yesterday.

And Corey said every year he tells himself

he's going to learn a backflip.

And then every year he tells himself,

but I could land on my neck.

So...

The video Claire shared this morning of

Pancheck doing a little low course was

very cool.

Again, I've been completely unplugged,

Vicki.

My wife was out there with me doing

some other stuff.

So she requested Yacht Rock on the

speaker.

So we were jamming to Toto and Michael

McDonald all morning while I was pouring

cement.

So...

Trying to type without glasses and not

being able to see is really fun.

I'll see if I can find someone doing

an O course.

I did see this one where Saxon was

doing these.

I don't know if you guys saw this.

Saxon

Nailing the, well,

I don't even remember what they called

this,

but went to the local fire department,

set it up, practicing for the games.

Got to know where that home row is.

Here's the problem, KDL,

is my laptop is up and away from

me.

So I have to turn.

And so home row doesn't really exist in

the podcast world.

Assault banger.

Thank you, Mark Phillips.

Yeah.

Again, been in the heat all morning.

Chugging water like it's my job.

I see that there,

but I don't see an O course unless

it's in his stories.

Nothing there.

Maybe it's another pan check.

So we'll try Spencer.

Spencer.

uh dead air love dead air don't you

okay so is this what they showed the

fireman's challenge so yep so they did the

banger and they ran up the steps with

rescue randy

Doing a little zigzag sprint.

I want to say Saxon won that sprint

with the zigzag at the end at the

twenty nineteen games.

So he's got to be excited about maybe

doing some of this stuff.

Yeah,

I'd love to see rescue Randy back in

some some form.

be really cool so yeah that was cool

understand the ever-present judge at least

he's not cheating and using the hammer to

pull on it exactly so it's funny like

and and i i don't know all the

details of this but uh vicky and i

got into a little bit of a fight

Because I guess the other night on Barbell

Spin,

they were talking about that athletes are

kind of forced to ride the line,

to be competitive.

If they don't,

they're just putting themselves at risk of

not winning competitions,

not placing well,

because moving to standard takes too long.

And she had a different take than I

did.

And I understand her position.

But I do think it has a lot

of... It has a lot of...

She says beyond riding the line.

Again,

I actually didn't even catch Barbell Spin

this week.

So I don't even know what was talked

about.

But my thing is,

when you're in a sport,

the quality of the movement generally is

not important.

I shouldn't say important.

It's not required.

Now, if in the judge's brief,

you have to have your hips below parallel

and full lockout at the top,

you have to meet those points of

performance.

Whatever happens in between,

whatever happens in between doesn't really

matter.

And when you're a judge,

they kind of tell you that.

Like, exactly, Mark Phillips,

it doesn't have to be pretty.

You just have to get to the points

of performance as a sport.

So,

But the fallback on that is the efficiency

of your movement can actually make it

harder for you if you don't move to

standard.

And so I think that we get into

this place where the methodology and the

sport blend too much.

And I've often said that I'd almost prefer

it being split off as a sport.

But it's like a Siamese twin where the

open is the shared heart.

But we've bastardized the open so much,

so much over the years.

Maybe it's time to...

to move away from that.

I don't even know.

I just think everything's up for

discussion at this point.

Because I know everybody gets mad at me

about all this.

Nobody's showing up.

Nobody's streaming the events.

Now's the time to take a good hard

look and forget the Band-Aids.

Forget,

let's strip this thing down and figure out

what works best.

What makes sense?

Don't do things just because we've always

done them.

Whether you like my ten people to the

games or not,

I'm not even a hundred percent sold on

that.

I just want someone to look at what

we're doing

and make up something that makes sense so

that we're not band-aiding it every year

going forward.

I argued, for example,

that a deadlift shouldn't count if the

knees stay soft and the hips aren't open

just because they're trying to win.

I don't disagree with that.

Again,

Vicki texted me this as I was getting

ready for bed.

I think she's learned that I don't fight

as hard at that point because I usually

don't have my glasses on and I can

only read some of the words.

So I didn't hear completely out and I

was really exhausted at the time.

So I honestly didn't even hear out that

night.

I just came back kind of hard and

said, I completely disagree.

And, uh, and she's like, well,

it's okay that you disagree.

And then she just kind of gave up

the ship, um,

which is not normal for our banter.

I wouldn't say arguments, but our banter.

And a lot of times we agree a

lot of times we agree.

It's only natural to seek an advantage in

track.

In track, this lead,

this led to the only one false start

for the field.

Second one is DQ.

Old days,

there would be multiple false starts every

race.

Yeah, they did the same thing in swimming.

One false start for the field.

Second one, you're DQ'd.

I think I got bit by that one

time where I went down to grab the

block and I just,

I got a bad hold and I went

off balance.

It was awful.

I think he says,

ha ha ha much love.

Yeah.

Much.

I love the discussions.

Oftentimes it turns into a talking point

for the show.

So it makes my life a whole lot

easier, whole lot easier.

So yeah,

Yeah.

So my wife, I think,

is telling me we're doing a progressive

dinner tomorrow for the fourth.

Why do we have to like booze up

Fourth of July?

Fourth of July is burgers and dogs and

macaroni salad, potato salad, baked beans.

Why do we have to do a progressive

dinner tomorrow?

and zhuzh it all up right like it's

the fourth of july what is a progressive

dinner winter so it's where you start at

one person's house you eat like an

appetizer you go to another person's house

you have another element of the dinner you

go to another house it's another piece of

the dinner all the way to

At the last house, you have dessert.

Seema, thank you.

My aunt does this.

Yes.

Why?

Why?

Just give me a glizzy with some ketchup.

I'm good to go.

Clark says, beer all day long,

drunken fireworks.

America, baby.

There you go.

That sounds like a lot of work.

It's really supposed to split up the work

because a different person is making each

element.

But typically,

someone who's making the next course has

to leave the course before to get there

to make sure it's ready for when everybody

else arrives there.

So it's a little weird.

It's a little weird.

Can't drink all day if you don't start

in the morning.

I quit drinking.

So that part of it's out for me.

I'm two and a half years, no beer.

So yeah, makes it hard to, uh,

party it up on the fourth.

I really don't miss it.

I was just trying to do it to

be healthier for my heart with everything

going on there.

Just trying to eliminate some factors that

may cause stress on it.

Um,

wasn't it wasn't it wasn't like trying to

be sober or anything like that i just

was trying to eliminate an issue that may

cause my heart to do the weird things

it was doing so i have had i've

had one flight of bloody marys on my

anniversary so it's not like i'm saying

alcohol is evil but and i thought like

it would really help me lose weight which

I don't know.

I don't know if that really happened.

But we're still plugging away.

So like bring a dish,

but instead you make everyone suffer.

Yeah, pretty much, Mark.

I think my wife loves that thing.

Like she gets it.

I just want to chill,

hang out with my friends, chat.

Why does it have to be a production?

Unless houses are within walking distance,

I'm out.

I don't even know the course.

I don't know the parade route yet, Trent.

Yeah, Joseph, I'm all alone.

Corey left me.

No message, no note.

I'm betting he thought because it was a

holiday we weren't doing this.

So I'll let it slide.

I don't mind doing these every once in

a while by myself.

Sounds like freedom burning tax dollars

out here in D.C.

America.

Wow.

Seem the same.

Don't miss it.

Did it for my line.

Yeah, I really,

I thought I would miss it more.

I do not.

It's crazy.

Tessa too, she quit for nine months.

Same, quit for sleep.

Meredith says,

seems more involved than a typical Fourth

of July barbecue.

Amen, sister.

It just seems like a lot more than

I want to deal with on the Fourth

of July.

But if mama ain't happy,

ain't nobody happy.

So Mrs. Glidesdale gets what she wants.

DC has the best fireworks.

Columbus is pretty kick-ass.

There's a river that goes through

downtown.

They shoot them off on one side of

the river.

If you can get on the other side,

it's pretty awesome.

Local radio station plays a soundtrack for

the whole thing.

But it's packed.

It's so many people.

So many people.

And at my age, I'm just done.

Just done with people of that big.

You know what, Trent, you're right.

The only thing I'm drinking at night these

days is my thirdsy.

Because just like Tessa,

that helps you with your sleep.

A little thirdsy right before bed gets you

nice and relaxed,

gets you recovered from pouring cement all

morning.

So I'm chugging some thirdsy tonight for

sure.

Plus,

half the neighborhood's going to shoot off

fireworks.

I need something to get me relaxed.

But get your Thirdsy, fifteen percent off.

Use code Jazzy at checkout and you get

fifteen percent off.

Or go to Thirdsy.com backslash Jazzy for

fifteen percent off.

These are firework fingers today.

Usually they're jazz hands.

These are firework fingers today.

It's a good way to make a mess

at seven different houses.

I know.

If you're just doing dogs and burgers on

a grill,

it doesn't even mess up the house.

Train ain't wrong.

Why get sick from alcohol when you can

get jazzy with thirdsy?

I've heard about this projection show on

the Washington Monument.

That's pretty awesome.

Never even heard about it until I think

Meg brought it up on Glentons a couple

days ago.

And that sounds really cool.

I've never even heard about it.

Mr.

Hexie will be at work making sure

Manhattan keeps power going with heat

wave.

I'll be with very medicated dogs from

fireworks.

Doesn't that suck?

Yeah,

they started shooting bottle rockets off

last night.

My dog did not like that at all.

And there's Meg.

Projection show is amazing.

Do they televise it or do you have

to be there in person?

Uh, Kate's smart.

She worked, she's in McLean, uh,

but she works downtown staying as far away

from the chaos down there as possible.

Um, Kate,

I live three blocks from the Capitol.

Oh my gosh, Joseph.

Holy cow.

we can see it from our rooftop we're

neighbors kind of well sounds like not

real neighbors but yeah so yeah today i

think we're just getting together with a

few friends this evening tomorrow

progressive dinner apparently i gotta go

through that

Sunday, I know Carolyn is on for sure.

Jamie will be heading back from Lake

Michigan.

We'll see if she's on this week.

Don't forget,

any Super Chat this week goes to help

Carolyn and Jamie get to the CrossFit

Games.

And again,

they get a hundred percent of whatever you

donate.

because I am picking up whatever YouTube

takes away.

So yeah,

don't forget that helps go to them.

And I'm thinking about putting together a

gift package for anybody who donates,

they'll go in a drawing and maybe I'll

throw in a couple new shirts that we

get.

I'll throw in,

I have a two pood belt that I

may throw in there with my logo on

it.

Maybe I can get some thirdsy to throw

in there.

I don't know.

We'll see.

So if you donate,

I'll throw you in a hat.

We'll shake it up.

We'll see who wins.

And you can get a little prize pack

of Clydesdale stuff.

So.

Show is on YouTube from July second.

It looks cool.

Nice.

Thanks, Mark.

Yeah, we'll check that out.

Vicki again.

Thank you so much, Vicki.

You are awesome.

Um, nine, eight and nine for the girls.

There we go.

Um, again, Bailey was awesome yesterday.

If you didn't get to see that interview,

please check it out.

Uh,

I asked her one question and we went

a half an hour into the,

into the episode.

We just bounced all over the place,

and man, was that fun.

I love that so much.

She's an awesome individual,

so check that out.

Again,

we're going to try to bring in different

guests at least once a week over the

next few months just because with the

games coming and going,

there won't be a lot to do.

And again, next Friday...

The glintons will be here.

So I have Clydesdale cowboy in the

glintons.

See how that goes.

Um, with it may be simulcast.

We'll have to,

I'll have to get with them and make

sure.

Uh,

train says great show with her yesterday.

Yeah.

I honestly had so much fun.

I went way past my lunch hour.

Um,

way past my lunch hour and i wanted

to keep going um we didn't even talk

about her xenon experience um and she's

done high rocks i wanted to get kind

of a comparison with her um so yeah

but that was pretty cool that was pretty

awesome um the glens are going to be

a party for sure for sure uh i

hear they're pretty cool yep

I think we need a part two.

We've already talked to her winter.

Bailey's coming back for sure.

We just got to figure out a time

to do the part two.

So Joe Valen says it's an experience you

have to see in person.

I think he's talking about the progressive

dinner I have to go to tomorrow.

I think that's what he's referencing at

this point.

so i'm super excited uh we're only a

couple weeks away from the crossfit games

um i'll be flying out to san jose

on wednesday and um i'll get there pro

like eleven a.m so i'll fly into san

francisco so hopefully i can catch at

least half of the day with the masters

Catch Carolyn and Jamie that day.

And then because of the offsite stuff,

I probably won't be able to get out

to that.

Thursday, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday,

I'll probably do master stuff.

I want to see the golden gate bridge.

I'm there.

I want to see it at some point.

We, we got to do that.

And, um,

at some point I got to meet up

with Joe and may or Joe.

Yeah.

Joseph and Meg, uh, hang out with them.

Uh, cause it'll be, that'll be fun.

We fly in at the same day,

same time, same place.

Maybe we can split an Uber.

get like a big old limo, split it,

come into the games in style, profiling,

high-flying profiling.

Just drive over it, not that impressive.

It's just something you see all the time

as a kid.

It always gets shown, right?

And I just want to see it.

It's one of those things.

I just want to see.

I just want to see.

And I get to see Kate.

Oh, my gosh.

I know I say this all the time.

When I did the documentary in twenty

twenty four,

she was my favorite athlete to talk to.

She,

she wears her emotions on her sleeve and

she was so open and transparent about the

experience.

And I just, she's the cat's pajamas.

That's, that's what I got to say.

Kate is the cat's pajamas.

I don't think there is a higher compliment

than that.

Uh, flying into San Fran, Andrew.

Or I can ride in a rental.

Middle class, though, not fancy.

Hey,

are you guys flying in from Minneapolis?

Wouldn't it be wild if we're on the

same damn plane?

So I'm going Columbus, Minneapolis,

San Francisco, I think.

I should probably double check that before

I say that out loud.

Views, oh, I appreciate you so much, Kate,

so much.

Views from the recreation area northwest

of the bridge are best.

Okay, noted.

Uh, forty-five minutes from the venue,

San Jose much closer.

Here's the deal, Andrew.

I called, um,

Amanda Harry who lives there.

She said that the price difference and I

found it to be the price difference

between San Francisco and San Jose was

like half, half the price.

Um,

and she said she always flies out of

San Francisco and it's an easy drive to,

uh, the venue.

So that's why I went that direction.

I took, because she's local,

she lives in Oakland.

I took her advice because she lives there.

Oh, wow.

You're going,

you're going the Southern route.

I'm going to Northern route.

Same for us.

Amanda is correct.

Yeah.

I mean,

she flies out of there all the time.

So I just took her advice.

I'm not going to try to pretend I

know more than a local who uses the

airports all the time.

Weird prices for me from Cincy was about

the same either way.

Flight times leaving, though,

were annoying.

Yeah, I'm actually doing a red-eye back.

I'm flying overnight from San Francisco

back to Columbus.

So, yeah.

I just...

I don't like being in the airport all

day.

I'd rather try to sleep on a plane

and then...

get home and sleep in my own bed

like the next morning.

Lito's flying to London to San Francisco.

Yeah,

you're on a whole different course there,

Lito.

I get to see Lito too.

My favorite people, my favorite people.

I love that masters community.

I can't wait to get there.

A quick happy fourth to you all from.

And I. We'll listen back to him.

Okay, cool.

And I,

I don't know what and I nickel.

Shannon is driving.

Yeah, you're in Colorado, right?

So I don't even know.

You get past the Mississippi and I'm lost.

Until like just a few years ago,

I'd never been to California.

I'd never been past the Mississippi.

I'd been to pretty much every place along

the Mississippi from Canada down to

Mexico.

But I'd never been to California before.

And then all of a sudden I've been

to like Washington, California, Arizona,

Montana.

Um, yeah.

Uh,

if you see us at the GameStop for

GTP patch,

go see Joseph and Meg get a get

or get glint and things podcast.

That's what it is.

Not get with the programming.

Yeah, I just got new Jazzy stickers.

I think they came out pretty cool.

I'll have those with me.

And then hopefully my shirts get here

soon.

So we can get that figured out and

out there for everybody to have a shirt.

You still live in Thousand Oaks.

I'm okay not going back.

Yeah,

my first time ever in California was the

Pasadena West Coast Classic semifinal a

couple years ago.

All right, guys.

I think my heart rate's back down now.

Thank you for getting me there.

You guys are the best.

Love hanging out with you,

especially on a holiday weekend where we

just kind of sit and chat.

Make sure you practice those backflips,

and we'll see everybody Sunday for Sunday

Night CrossFit Talk.

With that,

hope you all have a great Fourth of

July weekend,

and we will see you all soon.

You wouldn't wait to get to the editing

room to jazz me up.

I'm Robert E. Jazzy.

Midday motivation every time you press

call.

Lunch with the Glidesdale,
