And here’s today’s news from Public Sector Executive – on Wednesday the 26th June 2024.

The leaders of three political parties have been urged to take action over the ongoing homelessness crisis among migrants.
Coming through a letter that has been signed by more than 100 organisations, the call has asked whoever forms the next government to make important changes that would improve support for migrants, whilst also stemming the flow of homelessness from migrant accommodation.
The importance of this comes after last year’s Home Office accommodation evictions led to a 965% increase of the number of migrants that became homelessness over the course of six months.

The Chartered Institute for Public Finances and Accountancy has called for an overhaul of standards across the public sector.
This comes with the aim of improving accountability and public trust, with a focus on addressing areas such as governance failures, ethical standards, and data-driven risk management.
The Chartered Institute’s Governance Advisor Diana Melville said that public trust in service delivery is fragile, due to budget constraints and rising demand.
