About Meg & The Daily Pep!
I’m Meg and I’m the host of The Daily Pep! and The Couragemakers Podcast and founder of The Rebel Rousers. I’m a coach, writer and all-round rebel-rouser for creative and multi-passionate women to do the things only they can do and build a wholehearted life. When I'm not recording episodes, writing bullshit-free Letters of Rebellion to my wonderful Couragemakers community or hosting workshops/group programmes, I'm usually covered in paint or walking my wonderfully weird cockapoo Merlin.

Good morning Daily Peppers and a very happy Wednesday to you. So I am popping in with a midweek reminder that it is okay to prioritize your own needs. And I want to ask you a question. When is the last time you did something just for you? Because around here we are very good at taking care of other people. We tend to be empaths and sometimes our needs slip to the bottom of the list. That is if they even make them onto the list in the first place. So if you are listening to this and you are regularly doing things for yourself and you can name the last time you did something just for you and it was recent, take this as a check in and a sign that you are doing really well and keep going. And if you can't quite remember the last time, this is not something to beat yourself up about.

It is simply a temperature check and time to put you higher up on the list. Remember that doing something for yourself does not have to look impressive, it doesn't have to cost you money and it doesn't have to make sense to anybody else but you. You know, you. You know your own needs and what might feel like an absolute treat to you might sound like hell to somebody else and vice versa. You don't need a reason to treat yourself, you don't need to deserve it and you don't need to earn it. Think about how good it often feels to do something else for somebody else just because, well, we are turning this round for ourselves. If you are trying to think of the best thing you can do and you're trying to optimise it, remember that this is a practice and you get many, many goes at this. And what we're building to long term here is this becoming a regular occurrence, not just a one off.

So have a think about how you're going to treat yourself today. If in doubt, go a bit silly and experience what it feels like to be on the other end of all the love you put out there into the world. So that is enough cheese for one day. Have a good one, happy hump day and I'll see you tomorrow.
