About Meg & The Daily Pep!
I’m Meg and I’m the host of The Daily Pep! and The Couragemakers Podcast and founder of The Rebel Rousers. I’m a coach, writer and all-round rebel-rouser for creative and multi-passionate women to do the things only they can do and build a wholehearted life. When I'm not recording episodes, writing bullshit-free Letters of Rebellion to my wonderful Couragemakers community or hosting workshops/group programmes, I'm usually covered in paint or walking my wonderfully weird cockapoo Merlin.

Good morning Daily Peppers, and a very happy Wednesday to you. Now, if you've been around here a while, it'll come as no surprise that I'm not a huge fan of that saying, life begins at the edge of your comfort zone. I think getting out of our comfort zones every now and again is important, but not because it somehow gives you moral brownie points or means you're living your best life, but for a different reason. I'm going to share an example in a minute can be a great way of surprising yourself. So when we tend to think of getting outside of our comfort zone, we tend to think about taking big, huge scary leaps. And some people do thrive on adrenaline. I just know that I'm definitely not one of them. But I think we can go out of our comfort zone in little ways.

Not to prove anything to other people or for ourselves, but to make life a bit more interesting, to add a bit of novelty into our everyday and open the world up a little bit. And I'm talking about things like trying a new TV show that you maybe think you wouldn't enjoy, maybe reading something outside of your favorite genre, maybe looking at something to do in your local area that slightly piques your interest or you never knew was there. For me, while I know I absolutely don't thrive on adrenaline, I do thrive on novelty. And I think new experiences, even tiny little ones and tiny changes, can really help our creative processes. It can help us be more in the moment and it can also be a way of finding out more about ourselves. So today I want to say fuck the comfort zone for the sake of getting out of your comfort zone and try some experiments. You might find something that you probably didn't think that you were absolutely gonna love. It might give you a renewed sense of appreciation of the familiar and the things that you already know you adore or.

Or somewhere wild and unexpected and in between. I truly believe that life is one big experiment. And it is often the tiny, tiny things that we try out that make the biggest difference. So here's to using our comfort zone as a tool for discovery and self exploration rather than a way to scare ourselves shitless and do things because we think we should do them. Have a think about what your tiny thing could be. Have a good one and happy hump day.
