I'm here to share the news that, our visionary, our friend, our mentor, Steve Allen, passed away, this past week, the day before Thanksgiving. And, as most of you guys know, he's been battling ALS for a long, long time.

Speaker 2:

And so, he is at home now, up in heaven, celebrating with king Jesus. And in his memory, in honor of Steve, We put together just some of his voice memos, some of his sermons, that we thought that you would that you might be able to use just to remember, the man Steve Allen, to remember who he is, his encouragement, his faith. Just if there's one man who embodied what it mean what it meant to, to take four main roles seriously. It was Steve. So enjoy these voice memos.

Speaker 2:

Enjoy these sermons. Feel free to skip around if you'd like. You don't have to listen to them all. Obviously, this is a long one. But, yeah, sure do love you.

Speaker 2:

If Steve has impacted your life, in any way, then we are, connected. And, 10,000 fathers lives on, in you because if Steve invested it into you and you invest into other people, specifically your your wife maybe, your kids, your brothers, your neighbors, your coworkers, then you are a part of 10,000 fathers. So here's to more. Enjoy. And let's, remember the legacy of Steve Allen.

Speaker 2:

And, let's do what he would want us to do, which is help people experience more of Jesus. And if his life could help us do that, well, then that's a success. So, Steve, if you are listening to this up in heaven, I know that we love you, and I know that we can't wait to see you. So here's to more. More of him and less of us.

Speaker 2:

God bless.

Speaker 3:

Mighty men of God. Hope you're having a good week. Just wanted to encourage you with Jeremiah nine twenty three and twenty four. Let not the wise men boast in his wisdom or the strong men in his strength or the rich man in his riches, but let he who boast most in this, that he knows me and understands me, that I exercise kindness, justice, and righteousness in the earth, for in these I delight. So I just wanna encourage you, mighty man of God, that you are not seeking the things that the world seeks.

Speaker 3:

You're not seeking fame. You're not seeking riches or wisdom, but you're seeking the kingdom. And in that kingdom, there's a king, and he is king Jesus, and you have chosen a while. So I just wanted to encourage you that as you walk out your day to day activities, that what you do is making an impact. I've been also meditating on Hebrews nine twenty seven.

Speaker 3:

So if we have one life to live within the judgment, It reminds me to live life on purpose, to live intentionally every day, my words, my actions, my thoughts, to be intentional on purpose, focused on him, purpose to glorify him and exalt his name in the earth. Mighty man of God, hope you're doing well. Force 10 multiplier, and many, many people are gonna be blessed through it. Love you, bro. Mighty man of God, it's gonna impact many, many people's lives and generations.

Speaker 3:

So I just wanted to encourage you on that journey. Just wanted to just pray together. Bob God, I just thank you for this mighty man of God. Would you bless his roles as a father, as a son, as a husband, as a leader, as an influencer in the body of Christ. Pray that you would give him great joy in the journey.

Speaker 3:

Pray that he would know his identity. I know I pray that he would know his destiny and all that you have in store for him. Proverbs twenty four sixteen, though a righteous man falls seven times, he will rise and rise again. On the road to fulfilling your assignment, don't be discouraged when the rule is prosecuted. God is using those as your stepping stones to fulfill calling he has for your life.

Speaker 3:

Father god, would you bless this mighty man of god, fill him with your purposes, with your presence. Fill him, father, with him, father, for his word. The blueprint that you have for him, thinking of Ephesians two eight through 10, for it is by grace you've been saved through faith. This is not from yourself. It is the gift of God so that no man can boast.

Speaker 3:

But we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good work, prepared for us in advance for us to do. So was thinking about this yesterday that God has prepared good works for you today, for you to do on this day. Just think about that for a minute. That's pretty cool. He's predestined it.

Speaker 3:

So, father god, just partner with you in advancing your king glory for your name. In Jesus, we pray. Mighty man of god. Hope you're doing well. Hope you're doing well.

Speaker 3:

Sure love you. Father God, I just thank you for this mighty man of God. Ask that you would place your hand upon your son, that you would empower him as second Timothy two two, paradigm, and the words you've heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to a reliable man who will be qualified to teach others. We just ask, Lord, that you would multiply the bread as he takes this mountain. Thank you, father, for an incredible son.

Speaker 3:

In Jesus, we pray. Amen. Just wanted to encourage you to Psalm one nineteen one sixty nine to one seventy six. May my cry come before you, oh lord, give me understanding according to your word. May my supplication come before you, deliver me according to your promise.

Speaker 3:

May my lips overflow with praise for you teach me your decrees. May my tongue sing of your word for all your commands are righteous. May your hand be ready to help me for I've chosen your precepts. I long for your salvation, oh lord, and your law is my delight. Let me live that I might praise you, and may your law sustain me.

Speaker 3:

I've strayed like a lost sheep. Seek your servant for I've not forgotten your commands. Father god, we thank you for 2021 on the horizon for a for a amazing year that is ahead. In Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Speaker 3:

Mighty man of god, may you run my heart this morning? The verse I got for you is Psalm one forty three verse eight. Let the morning bring me word of your heart. Fell in love for I put my trust in you. Show me the way that I should go, for to you, I lift up my soul.

Speaker 3:

Psalm 27 verse thirteen and fourteen, and that says, I'm still confident of this that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord. Be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Lord, I pray for a new friends, families that have the same ideals and the same passions, the same goals, same desire to pursue Jesus with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. I pray for a church home that would be vibrant, full of life, and full of the holy spirit.

Speaker 3:

Bless the kids in, this new neighborhood, as they make friends. I pray that you would prosper them, father. In Jesus, we pray. Amen. Mighty man of God, hope you're doing well.

Speaker 3:

I was just praying for you this morning. And I was reminded, of this truth that the disciplines, the spiritual disciplines can only be sustained if they're built upon the foundation of love. Love is what gives us the fuel that goes the distance. And it's not our love. It's the love of God.

Speaker 3:

First John four nineteen, we love because he first loved us. And so when we encounter God, when we encounter his love, it transforms us. We need a daily baptism of his presence. And so I just wanted to encourage you with that. Mighty man of God, he just calling to pray with you.

Speaker 3:

Hebrews ten thirty five to 39 as a passage to encourage you, to exhort you, to strengthen you, and I wanna encourage you to memorize it. So do not throw away your confidence. It will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you've done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a very little while, he who is coming will come and not delay, and my righteous one will live by faith.

Speaker 3:

If he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him. But you are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but you are those who believe. In Yeshua's name, amen. Love you, bro. Man of god, hope you're doing well.

Speaker 3:

I just wanted to call back and say I had some listening prayer. I heard a couple of things. The first one was slow and steady wins the race, not to make any abrupt shifts or moves or decisions, but just trust the Lord. I think, you had heard patience. The second thing I heard, was Colossians chapter three twelve through 14 on relationships.

Speaker 3:

The holy spirit is the oil that lubricates lubricates relationships, and, it just felt like you were to meditate and memorize those few verses. Colossians three twelve through 14. And then lastly, I heard a thirty day window. When I sought the Lord for major decisions, some of the things I've, encountered and learned is when when the Lord shuts one door, he will open another and to follow the language of favor and the doors of favor. Psalm five verse 12, surely, oh lord, you bless the righteous.

Speaker 3:

You surround them with favor as with the shield. In Jesus, we pray. Amen. Man of god, hope you're doing well. God has a plan for you.

Speaker 3:

Just meditate on Jeremiah twenty nine eleven to 13, Ephesians one eleven and twelve, and Psalm one forty three verse eight as words of encouragement for you this week. God is your front and rear guard. He's got great plans for you. Trust him. Isaiah forty one ten.

Speaker 3:

Do not fear for I'm with you. Do not be dismayed for I'm your god. I will strengthen you and help you and uphold you by my mighty right hand. He is the faithful one, and he will never let you down. Mighty man of god, hope you're doing well.

Speaker 3:

Sure love you guys. Father god, would you bless as he walks in your ways, as he follows you, as he leads, as he mentors, as he raises up men of God, pray that you'd give the desires of his heart. Psalm one forty three verse eight is a word of encouragement to you. We'll talk to you soon. Mighty man of God, hey.

Speaker 3:

Prayer for you just now. I was in Romans eight, and I saw highlighted Romans eight eighteen for you. I want to encourage you to to commit this to memory. Ask the holy spirit to write it down your heart. I consider that our present are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

Speaker 3:

So, father god, I thank you so much for the glory that will be revealed through his obedience to you and your leadership in his life. The one who calls will will flip the bill. The Lord will provide for all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus, Philippians four nineteen. So, father god, I just thank you for our faithful man who's walking out these days in faithfulness and the quiet expectation of your provision and of your leading family. Is yet ahead, and that in 2023, there will be breakthrough.

Speaker 3:

Name. Amen. Mighty men of God, hope you're doing well. The Holy Spirit spoke this to me, last month that rest is violence against the kingdom of darkness. Isaiah 30 verse 15, so this is what the sovereign Lord, the holy one of Israel says, in repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength.

Speaker 3:

I believe that Isaiah thirty fifteen precedes Isaiah 30 verse 21, which says, and you will hear a voice behind you saying, this is the way. Walk in it. I wouldn't rush through sabbatical or a resting season. I believe the Lord is recalibrating you, giving you new vision for the journey ahead, and I believe that you need to focus on what gives you life. This is a litmus test question.

Speaker 3:

Is what I'm doing life giving? Life's too short to be spending your time or spending your will on something that you don't, feel the Lord's hand on or feel passionate about. So I just want to encourage you that when I say rest, it's not inactivity, it's waiting upon the Lord and getting downloads, focusing on what he said to focus on so that you can be filled up for the race ahead, the next chapter, the journey that he has assigned to you.

Speaker 4:

Man of God, in listening prayer, I heard Isaiah 32 verse eight. The noble man makes noble plans, and by noble deeds, he stands. A man of vision, a man for others, thank you for the incredible giftings that you've given him. We pray according to second Timothy two two, that the words you've heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will be qualified to teach others. How do you grow character in the Lord?

Speaker 4:

So I've been contemplating that, writing up some notes. I wanted to share this with you and also give you a gift from Allen Leadership Coaching called the four pillars. Luke two fifty two says this, Jesus grew in stature and in wisdom and in favor with God and man. This is what I call the four pillars. Stature and wisdom is physical and mental, and then favor with God and man is spiritual and relational.

Speaker 4:

Prepare there before you go there. So prepare your hearts as men of God. Work on your character 10 times more than your competencies, your skills, but do not neglect those skill sets. So here we go. How to grow character in the Lord?

Speaker 4:

Number one, be hungry. It says, in Psalms 27 verse four, one thing I ask, this is what I seek, that I might dwell in the house of the Lord and gaze upon his glory or his beauty. Matthew six thirty three, seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Roman numeral two, spend time with him each morning. All great men and women of God have pursued God and put him first in their day.

Speaker 4:

When you start with him, you'll end with him. Walk out spiritual discipline. Allow the Holy Spirit to empower you with his grace to give you a desire to start the day with the Lord. Maybe just start with fifteen, twenty minutes a day. Prayer, worship, and the word.

Speaker 4:

And to start each day and develop a life rhythm of pursuing him and putting him first. Number three, grow fruit. One of my favorite quotes is from a mentor out of Jerusalem, Israel, Mike Niebuhr said this, gifts are free, fruit is grown. The fruit of the spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. So think of yourself as a tree, the Psalm one man of God tree, and ask yourself what type of fruit am I bearing?

Speaker 4:

Am I bearing fruit that is worldly or am I bearing fruit, that is godly that is reflecting the nature of the kingdom? Number three, faithfulness. This is one of the most important currencies of the kingdom of God is that he's looking for faithful men. Luke 18 verse eight. When the son of man returns, will he find faithfulness on the earth?

Speaker 4:

Number five, abiding in the vine. We're gonna abide in something. We will rest our lives or pursue something, during our lifetime. And so I wanna encourage you to abide in him, to grow yourself deep in the soil of the word and in the spirit of God, the river of God. Number six, the armor of God.

Speaker 4:

I wanna encourage you to memorize Ephesians six ten to 20. Remember the sword of the spirit is the word of God. Sharpen your sword daily. Lastly, don't waste your trials. Remember that in the economy of the kingdom of God that God uses trials, hardships, obstacles to refine us, to put us through the fire, the refining fire.

Speaker 4:

It says in Psalm 12 verse six, all the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times. And so I would encourage you as a man of God to allow hard things, hardships, trials to make you more into the nature of Christ Jesus.

Speaker 3:

Mighty man of God, I just wanted to encourage you this afternoon. I know we've been texting. Just wanted to encourage you with second Corinthians 12 verses nine and ten, that God will empower you for everything that you need to do. It's just it's an upside down kingdom. It's not about having it all together or having phenomenal revelation.

Speaker 3:

I I believe it's it's just a walk of authenticity as a son, knowing the goodness of our father. It's first John three verse one. How great is the love of the father that he would lavish it upon us and call us his children.

Speaker 4:

Bloody man of god. Hey. Just listened to your teaching at ten thousand fathers. Zach sent the recording and really was blessed by it. Thank you so much for all that you poured into that, what you shared with the men.

Speaker 4:

It's the by the most powerful talk I've heard you give. So much authenticity, life, and you had a lot of spiritual authority in what you were sharing. Just wanted you to know that I was super encouraged, so proud of the way that you're leading your marriage and family, the way that you're walking in love and vulnerable vulnerability and transparency and just keeping your eyes on Jesus. So proud of you. Lord, fill them with your peace and your great joy.

Speaker 4:

In Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Speaker 3:

Mighty man of God, hope you're doing well. But, you've been on my heart this morning, and I just felt like the word of the Lord for you is that he has given you everything for righteousness and godliness, and it's through his spirit. And so I just wanna encourage you to be be filled with the spirit. Receive the ministry of the spirit today. Allow the spirit to fill you with hope, with gratitude, with love, with joy.

Speaker 3:

You will overcome the enemy, not by the flesh, not in the flesh, but in the spirit. My man of God, I hope you're doing well. Just wanted to share a dream I had early Monday morning, October 10, the first of the week. In the dream, I called you and said, hey. Found some great deals on tires at Costco, and your response was, well, I'm actually saving up points, dollars point supply to Kona, Hawaii.

Speaker 3:

So I thought it was interesting. Then I remembered in the course of the conversation, either you told me or I told you that you were buying $2,000 worth of fine olive oil. I immediately thought of Matthew 25, the parable of the wise and foolish virgins. And so I just wanted to encourage you with this dream, just ask you and Emily to pray to that, ask the Lord for revelation, understanding, but I do believe it is significant for this season. Sure love you, bro.

Speaker 3:

Grateful for your life. Praying for you every week for your stewardship of these incredible sons and daughters we've given you. With great love and honor. Talk to you soon. Mighty men of God, hope you're doing well.

Speaker 3:

I just wanted to touch base, let you know that I was praying for you. Wanted to encourage you with Jeremiah 15 verse 16 today. It says, your words came, and I ate them. They were my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear your name, o Lord, God of heaven's armies. And so, Lord, I thank you that that he is a man of God, a son of God, a brother, and a husband and a father who knows your voice, who knows his identity.

Speaker 3:

I just pray that you'd bless him this week as he navigates current markets, as he leads his team, as he leads his family, that he would be filled with the joy of the Lord. Bless my brother. Fill him with your presence. In Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Speaker 3:

Love you, bro. Mighty man of God, I just pray for you this morning. Father God, I just ask in the name of Jesus that you would strengthen that any discouragement, any attack against this inner man, the spirit man, would be thwarted and overcome by the love of Yeshua. Father, father, I ask that you wash with the washing of the word and the washing of the spirit. All defilements, all accusations, all discouragement would be washed away, that you would feel your presence.

Speaker 3:

You would know your favor and your affection today. I pray that all sickness, all demonic attack would be overcome by the power of the blood of Jesus. Revelation twelve eleven And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony. My man of god, you're doing well. Just wanted to say happy Thanksgiving to your beautiful family, and just want you to know that you're thought of on this day and that you are changing generations.

Speaker 3:

You're changing the lives of many. You are a world changer and history maker. Finally, in verse six and seven, there's a word of encouragement to you today, which says, I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith so that you'll have a full understanding of every good thing that we have in Christ Jesus. Your love has encouraged the hearts of the saints. So, Lord, thank you for my brother, man of power, man of vision, man of humility, man for others, would you multiply his bread, multiply his opportunities, would you multiply his spheres of influence in Yeshua's name.

Speaker 3:

Amen. Love you, bro. Talk to you soon.

Speaker 5:

Does his character change? Does his nature change? Because they will be challenged. There's some in here who face cancer, many who seek loved ones has. The truth is is that God has numbered our days.

Speaker 5:

He doesn't tell us the numbers. He just says, trust me. Now in our human reasoning, we think we've got at least 80 or 90. But is that guaranteed? Not only by the enemy, but by the father himself.

Speaker 5:

He will shake all things that can be shaken to see what cannot be shaken in your life. What have you built your house upon? What have you built your life upon? Isaiah fifty four ten, though the mountains be shaken, though the hills be removed, though my love for you will never be shaken, nor my covenant peace be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you. Last three years, my mountains have been shaken.

Speaker 5:

And this I know, that he's good,

Speaker 4:

that he loves me,

Speaker 5:

It delighted the father to break his own son. I don't understand that. It's vocabulary, I don't understand, but I'm learning to trust him. In the midst of our sufferings, he is present. He becomes more real every every every single day.

Speaker 5:

Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it will multiply and produce a great harvest. Thirty, sixty, 94. When you're weak, See, we live in an upside down kingdom. If you wanna be the greatest, you have to be the least.

Speaker 5:

If you wanna be the first, you gotta be the last. It's an upside down kingdom that we live in. I just wanna encourage us as brothers is to trust God in the church. He's faithful. He's worthy.

Speaker 5:

He's sovereign. He's got a plan. He's good. He is good. You can take it to the bank.

Speaker 6:

A Jewish rabbi once said, when you were born, you look like your parents. But when you die, you're gonna look like your decisions. You see, identity is from the father. There is an adversary. There is an enemy that is out to steal your identity.

Speaker 6:

It comes with false narratives, lies, deceptions. The men of the world and the men of God are not the same person. Most of our lives, we've been looking at the wrong image. A man of masculinity, what a man is in the world. I was talking to a friend recently about coming of age, passages for our sons.

Speaker 6:

It's hard to find them in our society. How do you know when you're a man? In our culture, when you get your driver's license, have your first beer, have sex with them, that's what the world says. But in the kingdom of God, it's a different narrative, a different story. Genesis one twenty three and twenty four says that you are made in the image of the living God.

Speaker 6:

Put your hand on your heart. July 2014, I was leading a team into Israel for the month. We had 20 college students. During that time, my left foot started to get heavy. Raise your hand if you've been to Israel.

Speaker 6:

Oh, man. Fantastic. So there's a lot of walking in Jerusalem. It's on seven hills. And with all the walking, it's like, what is going on with my leg?

Speaker 6:

And it's almost like I was dragging it. Well, we've been on our the plane to go back to The States, and I'm in the airport terminal in Canada. And I'm trying to we're trying to make a flight running through the airport and going down the the moving sidewalk. I get to the end of the sidewalk, and my leg doesn't lift. And I face my right there, flooding in my knee and I'm going, wow, something something's going on.

Speaker 6:

Get back to The States, do six months of muscle therapy, and got back to work. Nothing's changed. So I started doing some research online. Didn't look good. With another few months, I was at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee in the neurology department.

Speaker 6:

And after a week of testing, two specialists walked into my remnants saying, oh, miss Jelani, we have some bad news. We believe that you have ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease. You have two to five years to live. No treatment. No cure.

Speaker 3:

What

Speaker 6:

do you do when the script gets changed? What do you do when you thought that the line that you had built is now not gonna end? At least not the way you play. You see, the time to prepare for the storm is not in this room. The time to prepare for the storm is before the storm.

Speaker 6:

And so what you do in the quiet place, what you do early in the morning, first things first, seeking to face your ground before anything will determine how you endure and persevere and go to this world. You see, the parable of the wise and foolish builders is not just a sinister story. It's the story of our lives. When the storms hit, they will expose the foundation who have built your life. Is it the rock?

Speaker 6:

Is it Yeshua? Is it Jesus? Or is it the world? If it's the world, that sand will not sustain. Charisma, bravado, the spirit of the soul of man will only take you so far.

Speaker 6:

We live in Olympic City But can you tell me who won the gold in 1984 and the 100 meter sprint? Not again. You see the accolades of man, the diplomas, the titles, the awards, the big houses will now last. But what you've built your life for will last for eternity. Hebrews ten thirty five to 39.

Speaker 6:

So do not throw away your confidence. It will be which we rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you've done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For it is a very little while, he was coming, will come and not delay. And my righteous one will live thy faith.

Speaker 6:

You see, faith is the currency of heaven. And the great thing about the kingdom of God is you can grow faith. Romans ten seventeen, faith comes from Hearing. Hearing comes from the word of God. You see, thirty years ago, spirit rising.

Speaker 6:

Of you have heard and studied Saint Thomas, the dark night of the soul. And I'm sure many of you have been there and experienced seasons like that where all hell breaks loose, and you feel like everyone's against you, and there's a silence What have I done to deserve this? But you have to understand that the word of God is living and active. It is the has the power to take down strongholds, to destroy every deception and lie again. You see, our atmosphere is a father too.

Speaker 6:

Of God in your prayers right now. You are. It's a high father. So your roles as sons, as husbands, as fathers, and as brothers, the enemy will try to steal his friend. You have to know who you are.

Speaker 6:

Thanksgiving Day, four years ago, spent three days with the Lord. On the second day, the Lord strikes me. I had memorized Psalm 19 verse 12 in college. Oh, Lord, teach me to never my days so that I may gain a heart of wisdom. Gratitude, worship, and praise.

Speaker 6:

Each and every day, you will become a manifest. See, what the word does that the world cannot is that the word of God will give you a wisdom beyond your experience, beyond your years, beyond common knowledge. So when you encounter the word of God, it's like this. You don't read the word. The word reads you.

Speaker 6:

It exposes my implicit, And I know that I'm becoming like him, and I'm beginning to look like him. Write this down. You become what you behold. So why are we in the word each and every day to check a list, check a box, so that we feel good about ourselves. To be honest, some days, it's like that.

Speaker 6:

Okay? I showed up. I had my bible reading, prayed. I'm good to go. That's awesome.

Speaker 6:

Write this scripture down, one of the most sobering scriptures in all the bible, Psalm 78 verses nine through 12. Turned back. Why? They did not remember God's commands or his covenants, and they failed to remember what God had done in Egypt

Speaker 1:

and in the land of Zion. Write

Speaker 6:

these words down. Build altars of remembrance. One of the main topics had of an enemy is to get us to forget. God's not faithful. You may look over your head.

Speaker 6:

He's not answering your prayers. It's smoking mirrors. What does he not what does he not want me to do to remember what God has done? So if you build altars of remembrance, built out of gratitude and worship and thanksgiving on the day of battle, you will enter there. These altars of remembrance have kept me alive.

Speaker 6:

Yeah. They remind me they remind me of goodness of God, of his faithfulness, of his reality, that he is good, that his nature never changes. Be in gonna the gonna feed in my lungs. And because they we can see it in my lungs, it took fourteen hours for me to clear it to coffee. It's pretty brutal.

Speaker 6:

Well, that was increasing through the months, It won't take an intention out of himself. Veracity, a tenacity, a determination.
