Meraj Digital presents The Amazing Stories with Zaki the Hoopoe: Ramadan Special
Captain Suhail:Zaki, I smell something sweet and sticky and delicious. Are you hiding dates from me again?
Zaki:No, captain. I'm actually thinking about Ramadan.
Captain Suhail:Ramadan? You mean the time where everyone waits forever to eat and then suddenly feasts like pelicans at a picnic.
Zaki:That's one way to put it. But Ramadan is so much more than just not eating. It's a time to reflect, to be thankful, and to show kindness and generosity to others.
Captain Suhail:Kindness, I mean, I do let the baby seagulls have first pick of the fries at the dock sometimes. That counts, right?
Zaki:It's a start, Captain Sohail. But Ramadan is also about fasting, not just from food but from bad habits. It helps us feel what the poor and hungry feel every day, so we remember to help them. Oof.
Captain Suhail:That sounds hard, but kinda beautiful too. Like a test, but the kind that makes your heart bigger.
Zaki:Exactly. It's about building self control, patience, and compassion. We stop focusing on ourselves and think more about others. So you're telling me that my belly growling all afternoon actually helps me become a better bird. It sure does.
Zaki:But it also reminds us to be grateful for the food we do have and to share it. Oh,
Captain Suhail:speaking of sharing, I get it now. That's why you've been packing that big sack dates.
Zaki:Exactly. I thought maybe we could deliver them to the village on the island today. They're fasting too, and some of them don't have enough to break their fast.
Captain Suhail:A date delivery mission? I'm in. As long as I get to carry the golden ones. They're extra squishy. Just try not
Zaki:to eat them on the way.
Captain Suhail:No promises. Okay. Okay. I'll try. For the spirit of Ramadan and all that.
Captain Suhail:Who ordered a thunderstorm?
Zaki:Woah. Hold steady. The wind's picking up fast.
Captain Suhail:It was sunny a minute ago. Why do clouds always crash the party?
Zaki:They do have a way of showing up uninvited, don't they?
Captain Suhail:This mission just got a lot messier.
Zaki:It's alright. We're still going. Storm or not, we're not turning back now.
Captain Suhail:No. The golden ones, the deluxe ones, the almond stuffed masterpieces. Focus, captain Sohail. We still have most of them.
Zaki:We need to tie the rope tighter. Quick. Why does this always happen when we're doing something good? You'd think the sky would give us a break. Sometimes good things are hard to do, but they're still worth it.
Captain Suhail:It's just everything feels harder when you're running on empty. My stomach's making wail sounds.
Zaki:Mine too, but maybe that makes the mission even more important. The villagers are hungry too. If we're struggling, imagine them.
Captain Suhail:Okay. Alright. Dates secured. Feathers drenched. Dignity mostly intact.
Zaki:Let's stop over there. It looks dry and safe. Goodness. The amount of rain. I won't be needing a shower for weeks now.
Captain Suhail:Oh, no. Zucky, look. A baby fox. Hello there, wee one. Are you okay?
Zaki:Captain, don't encourage it. What if it's the bird eating kinda cub?
Captain Suhail:Nonsense, my good man. When have you known foxes to eat birds? I mean, look at me. I'm nearly the same size as her. You, on the other hand, are a bit more, how shall I put it, bite sized or I should say, petite.
Captain Suhail:Oh, feathers. Well, hello, Lassie. What's got your fur tangled in a knot today?
Fox:I I haven't eaten since yesterday. My mama left to find food, but she hasn't come back yet.
Zaki:Oh, no. I'm so sorry to hear that. Zucky. She looks like she hasn't had a proper meal in days. You're right.
Zaki:We can't ignore her. Not when we're carrying all this food.
Fox:Are are these for me?
Zaki:Yes, all yours. Eat slowly, little one. These are special.
Fox:Thank you. Thank you so much.
Zaki:That really warms up the heart, Captain, doesn't it? Captain. Captain. Are you crying? What?
Captain Suhail:No. What are you yapping about young beaks? A captain never cries. You're the one that's crying.
Zaki:Oh, my captain. I know exactly how you feel. When we help others, it really does warm the heart, doesn't it?
Captain Suhail:Warm the heart? That wee little tail wiggle just melted my heart.
Zaki:We lost a few dates in the storm. We gave some to this fox cub here. We are not doing a great job on our mission, are we?
Captain Suhail:Aye matey, but does it really matter Zucky? As long as we try, that's what matters most.
Zaki:Maybe you are right, Captain. The dates we lost in the storm, maybe some animal will find them and have a grand meal. Maybe these dates were always meant for this little fox cub.
Captain Suhail:You're getting really wise in your old age, Zucky.
Zaki:Old? I'm in my prime. Thank you very much.
Fox:My mama says sharing is what makes hearts grow. You two must have big big hearts.
Captain Suhail:Hey, Zucky. Next time we're on a delivery mission, let's bring a little extra just in case more surprise friends show up.
Zaki:Deal. Alright, captain Sohail. Ready for takeoff?
Captain Suhail:Ready as ever. Let's finish this delivery strong.
Zaki:You made it. We weren't sure you'd get through the storm. The wind tried, the clouds tried, but we promised to deliver. And here we are.
Captain Suhail:We lost a few dates along the way and gave some to a very hungry fox, but we still have plenty left for everyone.
Fox:A fox? Really? A talking fox?
Captain Suhail:Yet, you have no issues with a talking hoopoe and seagull. These land walkers, I swear.
Zaki:You brought joy to more than just us today. This is what Ramadan feels like.
Captain Suhail:Yeah. And these dates taste extra sweet today.
Fox:Excuse me, captain seagull. You gave us dates. So here, this is for you.
Zaki:Looks like someone has an admirer, captain.
Captain Suhail:Okay. I'm definitely not crying. That's just date juice in me eye.
Zaki:Stay and eat with us. You've flown far, and tonight, you're part of our family. Thank you. That is so kind, and we'd be honored. Just out of curiosity, what's for Iftar tonight?
Zaki:Fish and rice. What? Oh no. And down he goes. Don't worry folks, he's not hurt, just overwhelmed by joy, and maybe by the thought of all that fish.
Zaki:Ramadan reminds us that sometimes, the biggest blessings come in the smallest acts. A date shared. A meal offered. A heart touched, even a hungry seagull fainting from happiness.
