we're going to talk about all the grooming

tips that Corey has.

So when that lunch bell rings, yeah,

you know what to do.

Hit play, stay strong,

let the park carry you.

Glides in a cowboy, yeah,

we stay on track.

Midday kings of the mic, yeah,

we always come back.

Lunch today.

From the gym to the screen, yeah,

we cover it all.

Midday motivation every time you press

call.

Lunch with the Clydesdale.

Cowboy bring the heat.

Crossfit, boobies, music on repeat.

Half hour hustle, yeah,

we building that brand.

Grab a plate, tune in now,

you part of the fam.

It's lunchtime.

What's going on, everyone?

Beautiful thing.

oh we uh again we should just hit

record when we get here because the

content prior to the show is as good

as the content during the show sometimes

it should be the show let's be honest

so i i started saying hello to my

friend by saying hey i watched the show

back last night i didn't really watch it

back i just saw clips of it and

uh

My hair was a little shaggy and I'm

actually trying to go like no product in

my hair for a while to get it

clean and healthy again because I've put

product in my hair for a very long

time.

Right.

And so it might be a hat day

for a while.

And Corey proceeded to say,

I just wash mine with soap.

From time to time.

Yeah.

There's an ivory bar that we got or

whatever the yellow one is.

I don't know.

I don't know what it's called.

I wash with the yellow soap.

A hundred percent.

A hundred percent.

We will,

we will go ahead and do that.

Already off the rails.

I put it to you like this.

So, and you know, because you are,

you around this, like in,

in the early to mid nineties,

when all the dudes had long hair, right.

Everybody was crunch time.

My hair was down to here.

My mom used to get annoyed because I

would get up.

I would literally just do like this and

I'm going about my way.

And that's all I had to do.

And my hair fell perfectly every single

time.

um so now i've just transported trans you

know transpose that to the ivory soap or

whatever we got whatever twelve pack of

bar soap i would buy sometimes i just

and call it good yeah um dove is

the white soap irish spring is the green

soap yeah i'm still lost at the yellow

soap i mean that used to be safeguard

It's not though.

I don't know what, what kind it is.

Um, it's not, it's not safeguard.

I don't know.

I'd have to ask my wife,

be honest with you.

She probably doesn't know either.

It's just, I mean,

safeguard hasn't been made since nineteen

eighty seven, but it is kind of yellow,

kind of orangey, you know,

let's call it gold.

When was the last time you bought soap?

Ooh.

So fun fact, my wife actually bought,

she will buy like, oh,

I can tell you the last time I

bought soap.

I'm lying.

I bought,

so Paper Street was running a promotion

where if you bought Dial, yes, thank you,

Cows and CrossFit.

That's what I had.

um anyway paper street coffee was doing a

promotion where if you bought the hank um

colton's uh blend you could get a bar

of hog scrub at the same time so

that's probably the last time i bought a

actual bar of soap for myself i've wanted

to buy the colton hog scrub right dude

it is but so a long time ago

i was a member of dollar shave club

right

I do not recommend it.

The blades suck.

I might as well take tweezers and shave

that way with the blades that come from

them.

And they have – but they have toiletries

as well.

And so they have this like soap sack

that I love and that I would buy

the soap.

Well, it was a subscription.

And so I ended up with like a

pallet of soap because I forgot –

To shut it off, shut off the subscription.

Julie's just looking around.

Why is all this soap keep coming?

Yes.

And it's like Julie has her own soap.

I have my own soap.

She has eczema.

So like she has very sensitive skin and

can only do right.

And so I have I have a whole

cabinet under the sink full of man soap.

Various man soup.

No, it's not even various.

It's all the same kind because I just

didn't shut off the subscription.

That's even better.

It is all the same flavor.

Everything.

no we went um we were in the

woodlands over the weekend and to go see

the black crows and uh whiskey myers and

saturday during the day me and bernard

went to the gym you know went dropped

in at uh mr that burpee dude's place

mr allen kestenbaum and then they went to

a farmer's market that happened to be at

the place we were staying at

So I wasn't even there,

and Jennifer bought me a bag of coffee

from one of the people that was there,

and Abe bought soap.

She's like, this is,

and I didn't even know about that until

we got home yesterday.

Oh, this is the soap I bought you.

I was like, you bought me soap?

Sweet.

Yeah, I agree with Andrew Sten for once.

Black Crows would be a great show.

so chris robinson is way older than you

think he is and he's not at the

same time so he ain't but but when

he gets on stage first of all he

was dressed like he was in um

Aerosmith.

Steven Tyler.

He looked like he was in Steven Tyler's

closet and just grabbed a bunch of shit

and put that on and then ran off

on stage.

He had a silver long ascot over a...

It looked like the gym bros in the

global gyms with the shirts that's cut out

all through right here.

Yes, we had that shirt on,

but with the long silver ascot.

Um...

so having said that, yeah, I mean,

they were still fantastic,

but so what you were saying is,

is he was hard to handle.

He was definitely hard to handle.

That was the last song that they played

before we, uh,

you know,

took our old people leave and then rolled

on out.

But we hear they played that.

As soon as they played that,

we got up and started walking.

I was about the middle of their show.

They they were the headliner, apparently.

And then apparently, hold on.

Whoa.

I don't even know who Whiskey Myers is.

Now, Andrew Sten does.

Apparently, you do.

That's a you problem.

You should find out who Whiskey Myers is.

Great, great,

great mix of Southern Rock and...

It may be my problem,

but to expect Whiskey Myers to be a

headliner over the Black Crows is a little

bit much.

I'll put it to you like this.

We weren't the only people that left after

they played Hard to Handle.

well if i would have known the lead

singer and guitarist from shine down was

in it i would i okay i will

do my homework tonight because i i have

every shine down shine down album on vinyl

uh but

Whiskey Myers,

when I tell you they didn't do like

a, hey, whatever,

and this is the guitar player.

They got out there.

They played a song.

The song ended.

They kind of milled about on stage for

a couple of seconds,

and then they played another song,

and then they played another song,

and then they played like it just kept

coming.

It was outstanding.

Do you know why I love SEMA?

because you get a story from sema every

like once a week that just shocked

expecting yeah did not see that coming

from sema but she partied with whiskey

myers back in the day at a&m high

as a kite

Yeah.

Fantastic.

There wasn't any of that, you know,

like a million about and no, you know,

the joke, the famous, you know,

we wrote this one right before we came

out here, blah, blah, blah type shit.

Rocked, rocked, rocked, rocked,

rocked until the end of the show.

It was they were they were phenomenal.

that's who we were yeah we wanted to

go see black crows absolutely but we were

going to see whiskey myers it seemed like

a whole lot of people there to go

see whiskey myers too because we were not

the only people that as soon as they

played hard to handle we heard because of

the way the the arena set up we

could we we still heard uh she talks

to angels because that's what they were

playing like not long after that as we

were walking back to the truck but

Yeah.

Here's a song for a new album.

Nobody cares.

Nobody wants to hear Whiskey.

Nobody wants to hear Black Rose's new

music.

Sorry.

Yeah,

David Spade used to do a bit on

Saturday Night Live.

If I go to see whoever it was,

Elton John,

I want to see I'm Still Standing.

Play the hits.

Play them twice if you need to,

but I want the hits.

Yeah.

don't want to hear your new song it

sounds like a lot of your old songs

but i don't know all the words to

it and i don't want to hear that

i want to hear jealous again i want

to hear hard to handle but like i

want to hear all of that i don't

want to hear whatever off of our brand

new album nobody's going by yeah you

preaching to the wrong choir uh at ai

we all have very eclectic lives

I will say this.

There was a dude about three rows in

front of us who was probably Black Crowes'

biggest fan.

He did not leave right after.

So everybody's sitting down, right?

This is not a standing up on your

feet dancing type.

Everybody except that dude.

Everybody except him.

He was on his feet.

He was dancing.

He was getting down.

If Chris Robinson would move on stage,

he was moving somewhere in kind of the

same general direction.

It was fantastic.

uh shannon with the shocker uh reminds me

of my days that i was a roadie

for pit bulls on crack i don't even

know what that means but i don't even

but i want to know i want to

see the movie absolutely absolutely this

so it's funny you talk about the guy

that was the the fan right

my favorite band in the early eighties was

survivor and not like i had the tiger

survivor like all the stuff after that i

loved the jimmy jameson version of

survivor we have a little town north of

here called marion and they every year

they have a popcorn festival because like

act two popcorn is made there and

And so they have concerts in the square

in Marion.

And when we first moved to Ohio,

Survivor was playing.

So I'm excited.

Go up.

Have to park almost outside it.

Walk all the way into town.

We set up.

My nephew's with us.

The person in front of us has the

albums on vinyl,

and they're holding them up as Survivor is

playing.

Like, please sign these blah, blah, blah,

right?

Your thing.

And I know every word to every song

they're doing,

and they're playing on the back of a

flatbed truck.

I mean, this is how fancy this is.

All of a sudden,

the guitarist gets out there and starts

playing a solo, and he goes,

and it drones on.

Like, I'm a big Survivor fan, but man,

this went way too long.

My wife stands up and says,

get off the stage.

You're no Jimi Hendrix.

And said fanatic with the vinyl LPs turns

around with the ultimate death stare.

I thought.

Laser beams out the eyeballs.

I thought we were going to have the

gorgeous ladies of wrestling right in

front of me.

I have to break up a fight between

my wife and this random stranger.

Here we go.

Because my wife couldn't have offended

that woman anymore than telling the

guitarist to get the hell off the stage,

you're not Jimi Hendrix.

God, that's good.

You ain't no Jimi Hendrix.

Here's the problem.

She's creating problems for you at that

point.

Oh, yeah.

After I've sung every word to every song

that is being played, now she...

Well,

because you were on that dude's side.

I just wasn't standing up with...

You didn't bring the album hoping that

maybe they would sign it.

No, not at all.

I was just enjoying my time.

That's hilarious.

So I did want to do a follow-up

to last week's show,

and it's not about draining my chicken.

I just ordered some,

but it's not here yet.

Got it.

But our friend Ed... Oh, yeah.

sent me this yesterday as he tried the

combination of Lay's wavy potato chips and

Skittles.

Did he send you the whole rundown?

I got the whole rundown.

Yep, there we go.

And we have the full New York Times

food review

Okay, so overall,

you do get a sweet and salty,

but the initial hard crunch of the shell

of the candy and the hard crunch of

the potato chip is kind of a hurdle.

Which I understand.

And then afterwards,

it's a sweet-salty combination,

which is fine,

but it's a little bit too fruity of

a sweet.

It's kind of an acidic sweet.

So I would not call that a glowing

review.

Probably not a Michelin star review.

Of the Skittle potato chip combo.

The fact that Ed took the time to

do that and write all of that, like,

God bless him for that,

because he sent me the same thing he

sent you,

and I thought I was going to lose

my mind when I read that the other

day.

When I wrote him back, like,

I felt like I was reading the New

York Times food review.

A hundred percent.

And he goes, but you could picture it,

right?

You knew it was vivid.

Yeah, let's go with that.

Let's go with that.

Yeah, Shanna, her review is just yuck.

Yeah, that's slightly different.

Slightly different than the other one.

Speaking of ordering stuff,

but a good combination is your thirdsy.

A little bit of water,

a little bit of milk,

depending on which one you're getting.

Probably water now because they don't have

the white chocolate caramel.

But you can get yours for fifteen percent

off by using code Jazzy at checkout.

That's a third Z dot com backslash Jazzy.

Throw away that melatonin.

You don't want that hangover.

You don't want that addiction to

melatonin.

You want the straight up good stuff.

Best recovery tool in the business.

I forgot to take mine last night.

I paid.

Yeah.

And no groggy, dude.

Melatonin,

because I have taken melatonin before.

You wake up not ready to wake up.

Like, it's groggy and bleh.

You just don't get that with Thursday.

Yep.

Nope.

How about a peanut butter and potato chip

sandwich?

I mean, I can probably see that working.

I've dipped chips in peanut butter before.

That's a thing.

I mean, it's salty,

and a salty peanut's fine, right?

Yeah, a hundred percent.

I'm not mad at that.

Yeah.

Vicky says, Winter,

is that a submission for a third Z

flavor?

The salted potato chip peanut butter.

So we're just diving off the rails

everywhere here today.

So every Sunday,

my wife and I go to the dog

park with Walter,

and then we go get him a pup

cup at the local Tasty Freeze,

and we each get a medium cone.

This is the best Tasty Freeze in Ohio.

They swirl, they twist flavors together,

right?

And it changes all the time.

They used to have,

at the very beginning of the season,

they had peanut butter chocolate, which,

I mean, bar none,

probably the best mix of flavors ever.

It's up there.

They haven't carried that all year.

So I get up there.

And they have black cherry and peanut

butter as a mix.

And in my head I'm thinking,

it's kind of a jelly flavor,

but I've never heard of black cherry

jelly.

Let's give it a shot.

Yeah.

One, it was delicious.

Two,

the black cherry actually was stronger

than the peanut butter flavor,

which is very odd.

I wouldn't have guessed that.

But it was delicious.

Delicious.

Delicious.

I wouldn't guess that most of the times

that you get peanut butter and there's a

hint of the actual jelly flavor or

whatever that turns out to be.

I like that.

Dan Church with the peanut butter and

jelly.

Oh, yeah.

No.

Sorry, Shanna.

I don't even know what that means.

That sounds...

or is shanna having a stroke is that

what that is because there's no way she

typed that in her good right mind like

there's no possible yeah i think she had

two thoughts that got combined together

got combined yeah yeah maybe that she's

probably that okay so i've actually had a

peanut peanut butter burger like peanut

butter on a burger and that was fantastic

i've also had grape jelly on a pizza

and that was outstanding it was so it

was a place called louisiana pizza kitchen

um oddly enough in louisiana i know it's

hard to believe um they did a duck

grape jelly and uh it actually had sliced

grapes on it on a pizza and that

was outstanding i'm i don't know if i've

ever had duck in my life oh my

word really yeah

Love duck, dude.

It's just...

It's not a northern thing much.

It's because they fly down here so we

can kill them.

Yeah.

The peanut butter and jelly burger...

I'm trying to remember.

Colleen Fosh is the first person to ever

tell me about a peanut butter and jelly

burger.

And I tried it and it is really,

really good.

Yeah.

I could see... I could see the jelly.

I know I've definitely had peanut butter

and bacon.

The thing...

My sister used to eat mayonnaise

sandwiches.

I swear she didn't like it.

She just did it to gross me out.

I watched my grandma take a bite of

an onion like it was an apple.

Oh, my dad did that all the time.

About fifteen, fifteen, twenty years ago.

And it blew my mind completely.

Like, what are you doing?

My dad's burger was onion with a side

of beef.

I love onions.

My eight-year-old daughter,

grilled onions, dude,

she will fight you for them.

But just let me get the skin off

of it and grab a bite of... No,

we're not doing that.

That seems like a terrible idea.

um i see like i'm not a strawberry

jelly person train sorry um amanda not a

grape jelly fan although i have hundreds

of grapes for the first year on my

vine i don't know what to do with

them besides make grape jelly i hear they

make a beverage might be something to

consider so i've heard if you let them

ferment

they turn into some stuff.

I'm not real sure about what exactly the

outcome is.

So you're laughing.

Let's talk about that, right?

We're getting ready,

getting our stuff together.

We went with two of our best friends

this weekend.

And my wife said,

so there's stuff over there we could

probably get.

It's called Mexican food.

And we were like,

If you don't know anything about my wife,

she could eat Mexican food every day of

her life.

Wouldn't be a thing.

And I said, hold up, Mexicans make food?

This blows my mind completely.

I was not aware of that.

What is it?

They have a cultural thing.

So that was one of the big jokes

all weekend.

And then she brought,

because we drove up there,

it took us six and a half,

six hours or so to get there.

We brought snacks and she brought grapes

and raisins.

And I was like, bro,

what you needed was a bottle of wine

to go with it.

And you'd have it in all three forms

like this.

What are we doing here?

I was going to say the grapes and

raisins.

Was she doing a before and after?

Yeah, I said, I said,

so we were discussing what snacks we had.

And Jennifer was like, I got grapes.

I said, she also bought raisins.

If you didn't want to,

if you didn't want to wait, just,

you can have them now and we can

have them later.

Ken Walters.

I have a hole in the wall burger

place with a hundred and fifty different

burgers.

My favorite is peanut butter and jelly and

egg on a burger.

I love egg on a burger.

Yeah,

I will eat egg on a burger all

day, every day.

That's amazing.

I don't know what I wanted to talk.

There's a couple of things I did want

to just kind of talk about real quick

that I saw.

Um,

I watched Linus season one or season

three, episode one a week ago.

Great start to the season.

But Zoe Zaldana has shifted her workouts

to include lifting weights.

And she's finding that she feels more

healthy and, um,

And her body is reacting to it in

a better way than the twenty years of

Pilates that she was doing.

In a positive way, some would say.

Feeling stronger, feeling healthier.

Get out.

It's almost as if lifting heavy weights in

a progression, like, I don't know,

let's call it progressive overload,

maybe might be a good way to gain

some strength and, you know,

maybe a little longevity.

That's kind of weird.

How about that?

Yeah.

And she looks pretty jacked for a small

woman in lioness now.

That's amazing.

Yeah.

So I saw that and I was like,

huh.

You'd think someone would have come up

with that before she discovered that.

Who would have thought?

So God bless her.

You know, she's in Hollywood, blah, blah,

whatever.

She is probably,

or probably was in very much in the

camp of, I don't want to get bulky.

Yeah.

Well,

I don't want to accidentally qualify for F

one either, but here we are.

I still drove to work this morning.

Yeah.

Damn.

If driving to work made me an F

one driver, I would stop working at home.

That's what I'm saying, dude.

Like, Oh, so Amanda fillers,

perfect example, ridiculously fit,

like absurdly.

So, okay.

Doesn't look like a bodybuilder at all.

She looks like a, I mean, she's Jack.

Don't get me wrong,

but she looks pretty normal in street

clothes.

I've seen her in street clothes.

It's perfectly fine.

Turns out she lifts weights a lot.

Who would have thunk it?

Yeah.

Yeah,

like the work that women do to get

look jacked is not an hour a day

going to a class.

No.

And it's not even just showing up at

the gym.

It's the nutrition and the diet and the

amount of work it takes to look jacked.

I just, when people,

when women say that to me, like,

I don't want to look,

I don't want to look muscly.

I want to say to them,

I want to say to them, you're not.

And don't fool yourself.

You would need to work way harder than

this.

You're going to need a whole lot more

than this one hour CrossFit class to look

jacked to whatever you're scared of

happening.

Like,

you're not going to walk out of here.

You're not going to do this one class

and walk out of here looking like Arnold

Schwarzenegger.

It's just not going to happen.

Sorry.

Oh, my gosh.

I did a dumbbell snatch.

I can't put my arms down.

I don't even know.

Trane says, wait,

so I should be lifting weights to build

muscle?

I know, Winter.

I know.

It's brand new.

You should probably research it a little

bit.

You can find some.

Someone's putting journal articles

together about it.

yeah there's an app actually if you want

to yeah if you don't want to get

uh get into it oh that is fantastic

and train still waiting for someone to ask

if she's been doing steroids yeah i don't

want to look like that don't worry you

won't right um the other thing i wanted

to tell you is did you see uh

golden do you know what golden corral is

Yes, I know what Golden Corral is.

Thank you.

I didn't know if it was in the

South or not.

You guys have Shoney's,

and so I didn't know if they competed.

We don't have Shoney's anymore.

We haven't had Shoney's around here in

fifteen years.

The last one I knew of was in

Morgan City, and it closed.

Well, I say it closed.

When I lived in northern Florida,

there were Shoney's every two miles on the

interstate.

It used to be, dude, look, Shoney's,

freaking breakfast buffet, son,

let's go get some eggs and bacon.

Yeah, absolutely.

But they all shut down.

No, we've – unfortunately,

I have been to Golden Corral,

a hundred percent.

Have you seen their new marketing

campaign?

Jesus Christ, no, I have not.

So the new Golden Corral marketing

campaign is –

is I kid you not about come get

your protein, right?

And they have like gym guy walking up

going like,

I need to get my ninety grams of

protein today.

Because gym guys go to Golden Corral to

get their protein.

And then they show the section of their

new protein bar that is chicken tenders

covered in wing sauce or chicken wings

or...

I mean,

I'm not even making this shit up.

We need that clip of Brian.

Golden Corral is now the healthy place to

get your protein grams.

I need that clip of Brian, friend, going,

is this true?

Like, right now.

Holy smokes, dude.

At no point...

i eat a lot of protein let me

go ahead and get that out right now

i eat a lot of protein i eat

eggs in the morning i eat chicken during

the day i eat generally ground beef at

lunch where your protein dreams come true

at the golden corral look at the producer

of this show she is on top of

her game son

Where protein dreams come true.

And look what they're showing.

Fried chicken.

Fried chicken wings.

Yeah.

Fried chicken.

If you're going to do that,

you just soon go to Popeye's.

So now KFC is my healthy joint to

go get my protein?

Just go get your fried chicken.

It's fine, dude.

Endless protein up there in the upper left

corner.

Oh, my word.

Bruh.

Look at that.

Look at the health on those plates.

Let's throw a little bit of fruit here.

Yeah, there's some fruit.

Is that a salad,

like the little minuscule salad in the

back?

Get these shrimp battered and covered in

stuff.

There's potato with the giant thing of

butter and garlic.

What else is in there?

A steak with a big pile of mac

and cheese behind it.

Oh, yeah.

That's all the healthy stuff, man.

That is, that's, okay, yes, Dan,

I understand.

Yeah, where arteries get clogged.

That's where heart procedures go to die.

So, Dan,

I used to hit up Golden Corral all

the time when he was a college kid

with a tight budget and some big strength

goals.

Yeah, because you were just eating to eat.

Right.

Right.

Because in college, lifting weights,

going crazy, doing that kind of shit,

it makes sense.

Yeah.

You just go in there.

You can get as much as you want.

Go bonkers on it.

Young family, I got to feed these kids,

all this other stuff,

and we want to go somewhere,

bring them to the Golden Corral.

Sure.

Why not?

There ain't no way.

Ain't no way I'm going right there.

Like I said,

you assume I'm going to just go to

Popeye's and get my protein for the day.

It's going to be covered in three and

a half inches of batter and deep fried,

but it's fine.

Well, and the TV commercial, actually,

the guy's like,

I got my ninety grams of protein.

Like when they're going that far,

they are really diving into the health

aspects of the protein.

Uh, ninety seems like a lot.

And should you really be eating ninety

grams in one sitting?

At one sitting?

No, you should not.

I am.

So you want what?

Ten grams per healthy body weight, right?

Or one gram per healthy body weight,

whatever that case may be.

It's like I might have one hundred eighty

five.

So I mean, ninety.

That's half of them right there at the

Golden Corral.

I love the way you say it.

Co-row.

Right there, the golden co-row.

Mm-mm.

Mm-mm.

We ain't doing that.

We ain't doing that.

Then you got to avoid the chocolate

fountain,

which is also at the golden co-row.

That's the first thing that popped in my

head, too,

is it's probably right beside the

chocolate fountain.

I'm sure it is.

I am sure that it is.

Oh,

look at Winter went to New Mexico and

it was digesting.

I think she means...

I'm going to go out on a limb.

I think she means disgusting,

but maybe she means digesting.

I mean, it's the same thing.

That's the digesting thing is the reason

why I don't go to Popeye's anymore because

I just get home and throw it right

in the toilet and eliminate the middleman.

That is me.

I'm just saying.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Popeye's chicken.

It is a teeny tiny sliver of meat

in the middle somewhere and mostly

breading and batter for about three inches

around each side.

I will say this about Popeye's.

If you get there, like,

you get a three-piece white or whatever,

there's a lot of chicken in there.

Yes.

But there's also almost an equal amount of

bread and batter.

Well, it's batter.

It's not bread.

That is fried onto there.

Like, there's a whole bunch.

You don't...

And it's so greasy, dude.

Mr.

Cajun Louisiana is trying to defend

Popeyes.

Oh, I mean,

I've eaten there a whole bunch.

Not any time recently, mind you.

And the last time,

I'll put it like this, Scott.

One of the last times I remember going,

this was...

Shit.

Fifteen years ago,

when I still live in Raceland,

we went to go pick some up and

they didn't have any chicken.

Went to go through the drive through to

pick up like a family box to bring

home.

And we ain't got no chicken right now.

The chicken place is out of chicken.

this is Popeye's, right?

You know what they were doing?

They were in the back draining it.

They were, no, they were probably,

they would only fry so much.

So yeah, it was, Oh man.

That is now my new cover photo.

Look at that.

And you just, yeah,

you just made Scott's whole month.

Oh, fulfilling my dreams.

I like the color combination too.

Again.

Except for it's Saints colors.

Well, I mean, what you going to do?

It's also John Player special if you want

to go like way back in the day

as far as that one is concerned.

I mean, the black and gold, dude.

Wayne short red beans and rice with a

biscuit.

They're red beans and rice or jam up.

I ain't had them and I don't even

know how long,

but I will tell you right now that

red beans and rice are outstanding.

Best red beans.

For a New Orleans company,

they damn well better be.

But when we lived in Florida,

like my wife would just stop and get

the red beans and rice and that was

it.

Yeah.

There was a, there was a,

in the mall food court in Tallahassee,

there was a place that made red beans

and rice.

It was freaking phenomenal.

That's probably some dude from here.

um so good uh not that i ever

cheat it but since i've eaten a hundred

times better the last ten years just this

talk upsets my gut can't i can't i'm

telling you dude like

As much shit as I'm giving them,

if you actually eat it, it's good.

They know what they're doing.

The problem is that all the stuff that

it's fried in and how greasy it is,

depending on which one you go to,

of course, I just soon, like I said,

just eliminate the middleman because I am

not going to have a good day about

a couple hours later.

It's going to be bad.

I'll admit I'm not a big Popeyes fan.

We were on the road.

We got it once like in the last

year.

I got so sick from eating one tender.

Oh, I believe it.

That I threw five away.

Yeah.

I can believe it.

I can believe it.

Quality control.

That's why I don't...

I won't eat in ninety nine percent of

fast food to begin with,

just because of that,

because if it's you know,

it's so like they just turn stuff out,

turn stuff out.

I will let myself eat Chick-fil-A because

that's the Lord's chicken,

and that's about as far as that goes,

but other than that.

Yeah,

if I'm going to eat chicken from

Louisiana, it's going to be King's.

My problem is,

is that I've been around since Cane's has

been around.

And I remember what the chicken tenders

used to look like as opposed to what

they look like now.

Well,

I don't really care what they look like.

They taste good.

Well, ain't that, dude?

Like, it used to be,

if you got a five-piece,

like a box combo,

which is a five-piece with slaw and toast

and fries,

you actually got five decent-sized

tenders.

Now, if you get a five-piece,

it's basically five nuggets,

and you can just go on about your

business.

And it's just,

it don't make no damn sense.

Yeah,

I'm trying to live in a world where

a size doesn't matter.

It's just something that, like,

I try to get through...

I try to keep trying to convince myself

that size just doesn't matter.

Got it.

Got it.

Got it.

Got it.

I'm with you.

And so whether it's small or big,

I can deal with it either way.

Birch, what the hell is Chicken Express?

Out of all the things I've heard of,

I have not heard of that the most.

Chicken Express?

I don't even know what that's supposed to

be.

Yeah.

Yeah, train quality, not quantity.

That is right.

Mr. Boulder in the boat.

Sorry, Jody, you can dislike Chick-fil-A.

It's fine.

Yeah, I it's okay.

It's kind of like,

it's kind of like middle of the fairway

chicken to me.

Like it's it's not doing anything on

either side for me.

Well, there's chicken Express.

Look at the producer.

Yeah.

I was just in Texas.

I didn't see a one chicken express.

I hear it's your protein stop on the

highway.

Oh, my gosh.

Pulling up the locations.

Jesus.

Yeah, there's a few of them.

There's a couple.

Yeah, there's a couple.

There's a couple here and there in Yonah.

Wow.

Wow.

oh wow nashville arkansas there's a

nashville arkansas nashville was so good

they had to repeat it in another state

the city's so nice they named another one

streetport louisiana i went in streetport

they slowly making their way that's a

color is that orange

But you're more out towards the boot of

Louisiana, right?

I am,

but I was literally just in North Houston.

I was in the woodlands yesterday.

We wouldn't go eat that anyway,

to be fair.

We got the breakfast buffet at the hotel

before we left.

Did it have a pancake machine?

with uh no it was not that kind

of buffet it was actual like they had

a waffle they had a omelet bar where

somebody made it for you oh wow yeah

we were at the uh i'm sorry mr

bougie i didn't know that you rolled like

that you think that i booked any of

that

We got there Friday and got into the

room.

It was just kind of like, you know,

relaxing for a little bit.

And I went and told my wife,

thank you for booking all of this.

And like,

because I didn't do none of that.

I was just, where are we going?

Cool.

Let's do that.

We need to come up with a Corey

book of words.

Corral and bouffet.

At the bouffet.

at the buffet that's probably closer right

there yeah i think that's the phonetics of

it uh buffet it was the wood the

hilt woodlands the woodlands hilton resort

it's basically like a golf club a golf

course that's on a yeah i didn't get

there's no omelet bar at the holiday and

express

No, there is not.

I'll put it like this, Scott.

I had a chicken sausage, tomato, pepper,

goat cheese omelet yesterday morning,

and it was to die for.

Very good.

Saturday,

Julie and I went to a farmer's market

and we went to a little diner that

we didn't even know existed.

We just Googled and said breakfast near

us.

Yep.

And my wife got this thing called a

Dutch baby.

Never even heard of it before.

And it's like an egg pancake that poofs

up like a hot air balloon.

And then it collapses and they put they

put like diced up ham and an egg

and avocado on top.

It was delicious.

That sounds delicious.

Yeah.

And then I had Satsuka,

which has become one of my favorite things

ever.

I don't even know what that might be.

There's a Dutch baby.

Can we name it literally anything else

besides Dutch baby?

What are you eating?

I'm eating a Dutch baby.

No, let's not.

mean there are only two things that i

can't stand and that's people who are

intolerant of other people's cultures and

the dutch but i'm not eating a dutch

baby uh sounds like corey watched a lot

of just on wilson cooking shows as a

kid how about that corey lived the justin

wilson life for five forty nine years yeah

you know justin wilson's not actually from

louisiana

really don't don't do that to me like

justin wilson was one of my favorite

things to watch as a kid and you're

telling me he's not even from there i'm

lying from roseland that was a rumor that

was going around for a long time it

was actually from arkansas you were

believing the internets because no that

was not an internet room that was around

here rumor um because

he overdid the the accident oh yeah nobody

talks like that nobody talks like that uh

okay i went to silver spur when at

the games gg spot and had the raspberry

craig glassman spot and had the raspberry

and poppy seed pancakes so good i don't

know what that has to do with the

dutch baby ken but we're all here for

the food recommendations

Oh, so many Dutch babies.

No Dutch babies were harmed in the making

of Scott's Pancake, FYI.

It was Julie's Pancake.

I had nothing to do with consuming the

Dutch baby.

That was all my wife.

Julie's eating Dutch babies.

Jesus H. Christ.

No one ever exaggerates something for

media to get people to watch.

It was the whole persona.

I will say this.

So I did actually run into him in

a grocery store in Hammond.

I was in Baton Rouge,

Hammond or Baton Rouge.

This was thirty years ago,

legitimately thirty years ago.

And he had which I don't even see

where you can buy him anymore.

But when I tell you he had a

jug of wine.

he had three of them like as a

glass thing about this big with the little

like the little trigger looking handle

deal on the thing and he was right

there in front of me and it took

me a second i went that's justin wilson

okay and that's what that's what he had

that those three things of wine and like

something to cook for dinner but we had

three of the bottoms i was like all

righty here we go where i grew up

in pennsylvania

People made the homemade wine out of

everything, and they were in those jugs.

Yeah.

Dandelion, tomato, peach.

My grandpa used to make muscadine wine,

which was really, really, really good.

i don't know what a muscadine is but

it sounds like a grape but you can't

eat the you can't eat the skin you've

got big seeds inside of it they're really

okay yeah there was grape wine too don't

get me wrong but yeah that you lost

everybody knows the grape wine tomato yeah

tomato wine was not not good you lost

me that's a muscadine right there

Me and my cousin Michael would get in

trouble with my grandpa because we would

go stay a weekend over there and we'd

eat muscadines right off the vine because

they're delicious.

I'm using that to make wine.

Sorry.

Those three grapes that you just ate

are... Basically.

The last thing I just want to talk

about real quick is I watched Drew Brees

go into the Hall of Fame this weekend.

Did you get to watch any of his

speech?

I only caught the part where he was

saying that he owes New Orleans

everything.

Yeah,

he made a point to say that he

needed New Orleans more than New Orleans

needed him.

And he talked about how that city and

that culture completely embraced him.

And you forget that he came to New

Orleans right before Katrina.

Yeah.

and the Saints got real good right after

Katrina which that area needed so he

actually showed up right after Katrina

okay right like legitimately right after

so he was uh Sean Payton was showing

him around and they took a wrong turn

uh because Sean got lost took a wrong

turn ended up in Lakeside neighborhood and

they were going down the street and there

was a freaking tugboat

in the middle of the street,

like blocking the street.

Cause it was there from like a storm

and put it there.

And Drew said, just looking around,

like he, you know, talked to,

talking to Brittany,

he didn't know how he couldn't,

how he could say no.

Right.

You know, so here's a,

not just a franchise on the rebuild,

but like a city on the rebuild.

Like I got goosebumps just talking about

it.

And then, you know,

they start coming back and then the Monday

night game against the Falcons where,

steve gleason steve gleason uh blocks a

punt and whatnot and uh chris berman has

a real good uh interview when he's talking

about it and he's like you could see

people in the stands like hugging each

other crying you know i watched that

monday night game i watched that live it

was because of everything that they have

gone through it was the city had gone

through it was the coolest thing to see

It was wild, dude.

It was absolutely wild.

And it's crazy because people talk about

it like we blew the Falcons out.

We did not.

We won.

But it was a hard-fought game and made

the difference and whatnot, dude.

It was amazing.

Wayne talks about,

I thought my charges were crazy for

getting rid of Drew,

but it all worked out for both teams.

Well, the thing is, Wayne,

is that Drew was hurt.

Not only was the city of New Orleans

rebuilding, Drew was rebuilding.

He had reconstructive surgery on his

shoulder.

They didn't know if he'd ever be decent

at all again.

Sean Payton took such a gamble.

You look at the hit that he took

in the Chargers uniform,

people will look at that and go,

there's no way that anybody's ever coming

back from that.

Except Drew.

Yeah.

But anyway,

I thought it was a great speech.

I love the connection he has with New

Orleans.

And he's never going to have to buy

a beer ever again in New Orleans.

He could run for any political office he

wanted to and would win in a landslide.

Wouldn't matter.

He wanted to be governor of Louisiana,

he could be governor of Louisiana.

tomorrow like they would do a recall

election right now and just put him

install him in office that's anything in

new orleans like oh oh mr breeze and

by all accounts anybody's ever actually

run into him you know on the street

blah blah whatever he's the nicest guy you

ever want to meet still real humble still

real down to earth still you know he's

just he's just drew so who's bigger in

new orleans drew breeze or the mannings

drew breeze wow that says a lot

Drew Brees I mean don't get me wrong

dude Peyton Archie you know um even Cooper

like they get recognized on the street

sure absolutely uh but it's true it's

gonna be true what's wild to me is

when they won the Super Bowl and he

had the kid with the headphones on to

like the sound Purdue proof headphones and

to see those kids fully grown at the

Hall of Fame was wild

Yeah.

I mean, that was a long time ago,

dude.

Yeah.

Yeah, it was wild.

What about Governor Jeff Landry?

It's still Drew Brees.

That's about all I have for today.

Again, completely off the rails.

Did we talk CrossFit?

I don't think we even said the word

CrossFit today.

But I need those shows occasionally.

Well, here's the thing, dude.

There's nothing going on.

There's stuff going on,

but I'm just tired of bitching about the

same thing over and over again.

That's what I'm talking about.

There's nothing going on that we could

talk about and have like a productive

conversation about because until they

announce where the games are going to be

next year,

what they're doing with the Masters

divisions, what they're doing with blah,

blah, blah, you know, other than, okay,

we know when the open is.

Cool.

I did get confirmation I'm going to WFP

in two weeks.

Oh, sweet.

To cheer on Carolyn.

Sweet.

And to get to see the Laura Horvat,

Amy Kringle part two.

media pass yep according to Patrick Clark

last night on our show and I pulled

up his comment that said we were approved

and I told Jamie to clip it cool

so I think Jamie and I are both

going to support Carolyn yeah I was I

was actually watching that before we did

this I'm thirty six minutes in so y'all

hadn't talked about that they were talking

about that y'all still talking about the

the recommendations from the CAC as far as

the next season is concerned

And that's all there is, recommendations.

It's going to take CrossFit to actually

pull the trigger on something.

And good luck on that.

That's the stuff I'm just tired of

bitching about.

It's not doing anybody good.

Everybody knows what needs to happen.

I think most of us,

probably ninety percent of us are in

agreement about what needs to happen.

When it comes to that,

I'm very James Hobart.

Whatever it is, I'm going to do.

I know what I would like to see,

but whatever it is, I'm going to do.

Bottom line.

Biggest story is missing Hiller.

You know what?

I miss the content too.

If you need content,

the Ariel Lowen recap of the games is

a joy to watch.

It's so self-deprecating.

She dogs herself for making rookie

mistakes.

She...

it's just a great great watch the the

the the

not meme but the the the thing that

she posted with the her back bend from

the uh oh yeah back throw dude i

laughed at that for probably twenty

minutes one day just i watched it just

on repeat i think she's taking a slight

lead over rebecca fusile as best

crossfitter on the internet here's the

thing i haven't seen anything from rebecca

and i don't even know how long but

ariel's stuff keeps popping up like

whenever uh they were at the games and

she was like take off my clothes yeah

All right, guys.

Time to get back to work.

Judy Reed,

I do not know how much spectator tickets

are, but the events are really cool.

I mean, they're doing a combine.

They're doing bench press.

Are they doing the same combine we just

did?

Minus the vertical.

Okay,

so I'm going to go ahead and temper

expectations for you right now.

The laser system that they were using,

if there's the same people that did it

for us, and I'm assuming that it was,

we did the, uh,

the four yard dash and the five, ten,

five sprint that morning straight into the

two mile run, blah, blah, blah.

Okay.

All that good stuff.

We had done the vertical in the broad

jump the day before.

They had so many problems with pulling up

the data from the four-yard dash and from

the five-ten-five that they just deleted

both of those scores.

Well, hopefully they get that rectified.

So hopefully, yeah.

I mean, we were test mules, apparently.

The problem with being test mules is that

I watched five people

tweak pop whatever their hamstrings that

morning one of them getting ready for the

forty yard dash four of them actually

running the forty so do with that

information they've announced it a long

time ago people know what's coming they

announced always a long time ago as well

but then they made fifty fifty four year

olds do it at seven o'clock in the

morning yeah that's not gonna happen here

although it is the first event of the

weekend

So it's probably going to be early morning

Friday.

I don't know, like ten.

Next time you talk to Dex Hopkins,

because he and I on Friday night or

Thursday night, walking around the venue,

Thursday afternoon,

walking around the venue,

we're discussing the over-under on how

many popped hamstrings there were going to

be.

Yeah.

All right.

Well, cool.

With that,

hope you guys have a great rest of

your day.

No show tomorrow.

No show.

I've got to have follow-up tests on my

lungs tomorrow.

And I have to leave at noon.

So no show tomorrow.

But we are doing the sports show with

the Glintons at six p.m.

Eastern time on their channel.

So you can tune over to that.

And then we'll be back on Wednesday,

regularly scheduled bat time,

regularly scheduled bat channel.

And if you understand that reference,

you are old like me.

I wouldn't wait to get to the editing

room to jazz me up.

I'm already jazzy.

From the gym to the screen, yeah,

we cover it all.

Midday motivation every time you press

call.

Lunch with the Clydesdale Cowboy in the

heat.

CrossFit movies, music on repeat.

Half-hour hustle, yeah,

we're building that brand.

Grab a plate, shoot it,

now you're part of the fam.
