Type B Knitting is a weekly knitting podcast for the Type B crafter. Sisters Veronica and Gosia chat about WIPs, yarn, test knits and the knitting projects that don't go as planned, because knitting is a journey, not about the finished garment. New episodes every Tuesday.
Hello, lovely people. Welcome back to Type B Knitting. It's funny because it feels like it's been a while. I know, I mean it really has been a while. This is a podcast with two sisters who yap about knitting and knitting related things. I'm one of the sisters, Gosia. I'm Veronica and it's kind of funny that we left it off on summer slump. I'm kind of talking about that, just updating the podcast. It's summer break. Lots going on this summer. So we're going to take a little break, a little breaky poo from recording episodes. Something very exciting. Veronica is getting married in June. At the time of recording this, we are a week out. Hence why this will be a late post because obviously I've been a little bit preoccupied and not a lot of knitting happening, honestly. So yeah, we're just going to be taking like a little bit of a break just so that we can focus on some other things.
Obviously I will be gone for a long time and this is not our full time job. So we've got other things to worry about. Yeah, something that's a little bit more important right now. Yeah, absolutely. But we are not going to leave you guys with nothing. We will be giving a short update because we have some exciting news in the knitting universe for Goshia. So yeah, Goshia, do you want to share with us what happened? Yeah, I'll share. I got selected, applied and got selected for a test knit. I'm so excited. This will be my first test knit. So that's kind of something different. And I'm very excited to start.
I bought the yarn already and I can't wait. So it might not be recording any episodes but when we do come back probably what in August I'd say. Yeah, probably. Yeah. I'll have some really fun updates by then. I will be test knitting the rhubarb sweater by Sarah Gray Other Stitch. It's super cute. And what yarn did you buy for that? I ended up going with drops, a drops yarn. I bought a Lindenabe. Lindenabe. And they shifted super super quick as soon as I got it, ordered it. I will be knitting with the drops bell. It's not a yarn that she recommended but it was a very budget friendly yarn. I was really happy with at the time of buying it. It was 250 gram skein ball yarn. Oh nice. Because you have to buy so many different colors. So I was really happy I could find something. So I'm just gonna have to make sure to match gauge is all. Yeah, so I'll be doing that over the summer. Are you doing like because so the rhubarb sweater that she has is black.
Are you also doing black as the background as like the main color? It's really funny because technically I think she did navy. So when I saw it I'm like oh my god I want to do it the same. I want to do a navy background but I think it's such a dark navy almost redo that black. And I was showing my husband Adrian like oh my gosh like look at this sweater that I'll be test knitting. And he's like oh are you gonna do black? You should do navy. So it's funny that everyone has like the same feedback. I know I was literally like I was like oh I think it's just black. And like I like when you know especially you know like during my test knit it's cool to see the different like color combos that people come up with. So it's kind of fun when like you know people kind of stray because like the tattoo flash cardigan that I'm working on it was test knit in a black black and white. And I'm like oh you know like I personally just don't wear black so I wasn't going to do it in black anyway. I'm doing a gray and white.
This gray I just had in my stash so I'm just stash busting it with it. I've had it for so long it's like the yarn that I first bought when we like when we first went to like our first what is it the Illinois yarn festival I think it was. Yeah so I'm just I just wanted to get rid of it honestly you know nothing wrong with it. I'm just like tired of seeing it in my stash so I was like you know what this is like a perfect opportunity to you know just get rid of it and put it into something. So yeah no I'm I'm excited to like get one less thing out of my stash. I think it'll be good I think it'll be good. Oh yeah it's funny because I've been staring at my stash recently and before I was like I got the email about the test knit I was like oh I should really like get to stash busting I feel like it's just growing and growing. Now I had to buy like all new yarn because I had to have make sure I had enough make sure it's like in somewhat of a same like yarn way and like I needed to buy six different colors or seven with the main color yeah so I'm like oh yeah it's a lot of colors it'll be so beautiful and it's funny cuz like for some of the color work you just have to use like 11 yards so I'm like that's like nothing a mini skein would be great. I know I'm like you could have almost like bought like a sock yeah yeah I've been smart but I was too excited I just bought the first yarn I was excited about no I totally get that I literally get that cuz it's like a rush you're like oh I get to you know you know work on a test and it's just super exciting so I think you kind of just are like let me get yarn in my hands as soon as possible you know especially for like literally the first one you're just like everything's super new and exciting so literally was right there with you on that so I totally get just wanting to you know get everything like right away and in the same from the same store and all of that so oh yeah but I think it's like super cool just to see everyone's like color combos so it I'm excited to see what people do for that because there is a lot of color work in that so I'm kind of curious what you know people would make I don't know it would just be interesting it's like a super colorful and Tarja color work it'd be interesting to see like what people chooses their background color yes I think it'll be really cool with something so fun like vegetable type you know piece I think there's you can play around with it a lot so I'm very excited to get that started I'm like I need to finish up my other projects so I don't feel so guilty working on this but I think that's lit a fire under me for this summer to make what little like you know what time I can find to knit because I think we were talking about in the last episode where it's like it's so hard to want to knit there's just so much going on during the summer yeah 100% yeah there's nothing like a test in it and a deadline to light a fire under your butt seriously did you have any updates um so I finished one sleeve of my tattoo flash cardigan I'll probably be working I don't think I'll be able to finish it before the wedding so I'll probably be working on it on my honeymoon I the deadline is coming up it's in July it's July 10th so I still have like actually a month to this day to get this finished which I think I can do I feel like you zipped through that a sweater like it's kind of funny because you have you've been doing so much progress you kind of have like like a hard stop obviously you have so much done already and I feel like you're really fascinated or so yeah yeah it'll be fun very cool um like I just started the second sleeve right now and then after that all I have to do is the collar and like the button band so it should go super fast and like sleeves kind of always go fast there's just like you know not as much color work on this but a little bit so I think yeah definitely by the time we're back I will have had it done so it'll be and you know watch it on our Instagram I think even though we're taking a little bit of a break I think I might still be posting on the Instagram for sure we just won't have like actual episodes out so yeah definitely check out the Instagram for any like fun updates I think that Gosha and I will still be active on there even though we're not so much active on the actual podcast yeah and we'll definitely update the Instagram once we do come back when to expect us to start up again yeah um so that was just kind of a quick update wanted to let everybody know that we will be taking a little bit of a break go out and enjoy your summer go out soak in the sun spend time with friends family yeah anything that makes you happy 100% yeah enjoy the weather well that is all the updates that we have for you guys right now um have a great summer break we'll talk to you guys super soon and again check out the Instagram type B knitting podcast we'll be posting updates whenever we can on there but yeah thank you guys so much for listening and we'll see you after our break I'm Veronica and I'm Gosha and we'll talk to you guys later bye bye
