I hope everyone has a great, had a great week. It was nice and cool here in Vegas this week, and hopefully we're going to June with this beautiful weather, maybe, maybe not. We'll see. It always gets warm this time of the year, and that's that's to be expected. But I'm gonna enjoy this beautiful weather, and while we can, my name is Don Marquez. I'm a licensed insurance broker. I've been in business now for 30 years, offering auto insurance, homeowners insurance, renters, boat, motorcycle insurance. Yes, yes, yes. And we all need life insurance. I can't say it enough. I want to thank the customers that listen to this program and came in and talked to me about their insurance concerns. I had a couple come in. They came in last week and it was - I spent two hours with them on their insurance and no charge. I said, you know what, no charge. And the lady's like, you know, I have to give you something because you spent a lot of time explaining, and they had some old policies and a lot of time going over the policies with them. I don't charge a fee to come see me, but she was just adamant about me taking something, which I really did appreciate, but that wasn't necessary. You know, my name is Don Marquez. I'm a licensed insurance agent, again, right here in Las Vegas, Nevada, my hometown, and licensed in California for life insurance, Louisiana, Michigan, Texas. Yes, for life insurance, for auto insurance, homeowners insurance. I'm licensed in 48 states, with the exception of California and New York. Now, if you need life insurance in California, because you listen to KU 91.5 KU and V 91.5 you listen to our station. California is just going through some issues right now when it comes to, you know, agents, non-residents agents. They're trying to keep it in house with the agents, and you know they don't allow outsiders to come in and write insurance, but hopefully eventually that'll work out. My name is Don Marquez. My business hours are Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm and my business hours are again 10am to 5pm Monday through Friday, and I do a lot of business over the phone, lots of business over the telephone. I work by our appointment again, 702-236-2624 I had a conversation with a young lady just the other day, and she said, you know, I don't want to carry the uninsured motors protection, that's a very important protection to have on your auto insurance. 30% of the driver today just driving around do not have car insurance in Southern Nevada. It's just affordability, you know, I'm not saying I'm not, I'm not, I'm not making up any excuses, I'm not making up any excuses. Everyone, if you're gonna drive a vehicle, you have to have car insurance, that is the state law, that's the requirement. But not to have uninsured and underinsured motives on your auto insurance policy, it protects you when someone hits your car without insurance for bodily injury for accidents when you're injured. It's your medical protection now. If you have other medical, you know, insurance, you know you have to weigh it out and see if it works for you. Yes. Do uninsured motors is our quote all policies with unin. Insured motors protection now, medical expense, you know, that's, you know, medical is a give and take. I don't have medical on my car insurance, but I do have uninsured motors. I do have two medical insurance companies that I work with. I don't, I don't pay anything for medical insurance, knock on wood. I'm at that age, I deserved it. I've, I've earned it, but I don't know, I don't need it. But you know, most people do need uninsured and underinsured motors protection. You know, for more information, my contact no phone number is 702-236-2624 You know, and a lot of times, too, with the bodily injury, the property damage, medical expenses, uninsured motorists, collision, other than collision, tow and labor, rental car rein expense, you know, new car replacement coverages. These are the coverages that I go over with you now. When you tell me you have full coverage, all those coverages, the coverage limits I just mentioned, you would have every single coverage checked off to have full coverage. You know, most of you don't understand how this full coverage declaration works. You know, you have coverage now. I do tell people, the higher their deductible, the lower the premium, even if you have a claim, let's say on your home, right? You have a claim on your home. The worst time to shop is when you file a claim and also on your auto or your homeowner's insurance and try to get a lower rate, because now you file a claim on your auto insurance and you file a claim on your homeowner's insurance, and now both policies have gone up, but you're trying to shop and see if you can get a lower rate somewhere now, if that auto insurance claim is a no-fault accident, a non-fault accident, there's a good chance you can shop, but when it's your fault, it's almost impossible to shop to get a lower rate. I'm just going to tell you that you may just have to stay where you are, you know, for a while while that at fault insurance claim until it falls off. In other words, when you have an at-fault accident, and then all of a sudden you know it's paid out, the money's paid out, the claim is closed, and now you're upset because, oh, my rate went up. I've been with this company for so long, and what the rate is going to adjust, and now you want to shop it with a claim. It's very difficult to do that, but you know, I try my best to help my, my listeners, my clients when they come to see me, but the clients that work with me with no accidents tickets in five years, been with their insurance carrier for the last two to three years, and then, and they care, not, they're not carrying the minimum state requirement, I quote everyone, but if you're looking to save money, pay your life, pay your auto insurance policy in full. Again, when you hear those commercials on television, they're not talking about monthly payments, they're talking about paying your auto insurance in the full price. So, when you shop for car insurance and you hear these commercials and they get you motivated to shop, and they're talking about, I save hundreds just making a phone call. Yeah, but that's not Vegas, that's somewhere mid midwest America, little small town. And these companies, they know they know how to get your attention with the gimmicks. They do. I mean, you know, I get it. I represent Progressive, and they have their characters on Progressive, and I get it. I also, I'm contracted with Liberty Mutual for auto insurance, homeowners insurance. I get the gimmicks, but they want to get your attention, so you can make the phone call. They're very entertaining commercials, and they want you to make that phone call, but I'm here to tell you, I'm an insurance agent. I can help you through the process, and with no gimmicks, straightforward answers without the without the gimmicks. You know, we're gonna look at your car insurance, you know the safety features on your vehicle, the vent of the VIN number, the vehicle identification number tells me everything about your car, all its safety features. Now, I may have a couple questions to ask. You know, does it have automatic braking, or does it have the mirrors on the side? Mirrors, do they have the lights, and most cars do have the lights, where it'll let you know where it's oncoming traffic, and you cannot move over because now in the mirror, it's showing red. Now, yellow is a caution, but most of them, when it's red, do not try to cross over in the other lane, because you could cause a collision. Do not text and drive. This is one of the, one of the main reasons, regardless of your age, why the car insurance rates go up. When you have a rear end collision, it is your fault, you're following too close, even a person you know, if someone's crossing the street and they have to, they have to stop quickly. If you hit them from the rear, you're not paying attention, or you've been, you're driving too close. Give yourself some distance, do not text and drive, you know. Put that, leave the cell phone alone, and when you get to your desk. Nation, pick it up, make your calls, and do what you have to do, or most calls, more most cars today, you just push a button and you can make a call, you know, whoever you want to call, just mention their name hands free, and just talking to your devices, and you can get a person, you don't do not text and drive, that's one of the leading causes of a car accident. Now, if you are an Uber driver or Lyft driver or share ride driver, you might want to consider a little bit better limits of liability on your auto insurance policy. You're in business, you are a business owner, you are a 1099 business owner with your share ride service. Now, when you're driving these share rides, do not carry the minimum requirement, and you need the endorsement on your auto insurance policy to ride share ride. You know there's a lot of liability when you're picking up passengers without the endorsement on your auto insurance policy. I don't know if these share ride companies require you to have the endorsement they should to protect, and I say this because I've had share ride drivers contact me, and they want insurance. Now, I tell them I will insure you if you qualify, but these are the coverages I require you to carry when I write your share ride policy. I want you to carry the higher limits of liability. I will not write a share ride driver with the minimum requirements. I'm not that agent, because if something happens, you know something happens, you want to.. oh, you know, I paid this money every month, I was fully covered, and that's the excuse most people use, but you're not fully covered, because now you have the minimums. I'm not gonna have that conversation, because on a share ride program, and you're picking up passengers, you know, my minimum I'm gonna write is 50,000 per person, 100,000 each accident, that's the minimum I would write, I would like to be right at a 100,000 per person, 300,000 each accident, that's where you really, really, really need to be on a share ride, even if you don't do a share ride, if you're a homeowner, you should consider higher limits of liability to protect your liability. You know, people come after you, they want to sue you, and whatever your assets are, and people say, "Well, I don't have anything. If you, if you accumulate a paycheck every week, or every two weeks, or once a month, however you get paid, that is an asset. And I've seen people in this business for the last 30 years, I've seen people get sued with a home or without a home, they have to pay the difference of the or for the lower insurance protection that they have. Yes, the auto insurance carriers try to settle claims, they do, they try to sell all claims, and hopefully both parties will agree that the claim is settled, and you're not going to go after my party or my insured for more money, and of course everything has to be signed above board, but let's say you have the minimum state requirements in the state of Nevada on auto insurance policy, you're in a car accident, you don't have enough money to cover the bodily injuries you caused to others. Now, when the lawyers come after you, you know they like, okay, you don't have enough car insurance coverage, you have the minimums, you know what assets do you have, and you like, what? What I thought I was fully covered, and it's always that excuse, you know. I just.. it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Richard Pry said that a long time ago. I live by that daily. It's better to do it and get it done than to have to do it later. When we procrastinate, when we procrastinate, we kick the can, and we talk about, you know, I'll take care of that tomorrow, I'll take care of that. Next week, you know, I'm gonna call Don Marquez. I know I need to talk to him about my insurance, but I'll wait. You know, we have these voices in our mind tell us to wait to procrastinate. You know, that's not a voice that you should listen to. It's just not because you, you procrastinate on not only one thing, but multiple things you have to do in life, you know. When we procrastinate to do, you know, I need to, I need to wash my clothes. I wash them once a month, that's good enough. And you got five baskets full of clothes, you like, oh wow, I won't do this again. I had that happen to me once. It will never happen again. I'll wash my clothes weekly, you know, every week, every certain day of the week they're going in the laundry basket and going downstairs and put in the washing machine and the dryer, I'm not, I'm not full enough, you know, four or five baskets of clothes anymore, that's too much time, but you know, I get into a routine, I get, I get things done, I want things done, get it out the way, because you know in life there's always something else. It is, there's always something else. So, when you procrastinate and you say you don't want to call that Marquez, I need to, I need to get a quote on auto insurance. I need to get a quote on my life insurance. I don't have any life insurance, but I need life insurance. I'm calling one day, and the next day go. By the next, and you hear my program over and over, right here at KU and V 91.5 jazz or more. You don't listen to that voice tell you, you know, do it tomorrow or do it the next week or the next month, and you know what, weeks becomes months, months becomes years, and you still haven't. I've had people call, and I do appreciate people contacting me, and you know they say, you know, what, I've been listening to your program now for the last two years, and I decided to call you, I need life insurance, I get that from time to time, and I said, okay, what took you so long? Well, I don't know, it just life, it's just a phone call, 702-236-2624 it's not that difficult, it's not, and it's easy. I do all the work. You just answer the simple questions, yes or no answers. When it comes to life insurance, when it, when we're quoting your auto insurance, yes or no answers. You know what coverage do you have? Most people don't know what the coverages they have on the auto insurance. They really don't. Oh, they'll tell me I have full coverage. And now we go through, okay? I have to try to figure it out, as you know, much as I can, because most of the car insurance companies, they'll just report the minimum of what you have on the bodily injury, that's the minimum information that we receive, regardless of your policy, regardless of your policy limits, it only gives us the bodily injury, it doesn't tell us your deductibles, doesn't tell us whether you have uninsured and underinsured motors protection, doesn't tell us what your deductibles are. It just gives us the bodily injury liability and how long you've been with the company, that's all it tells us. And now we have to figure out the rest through you. Get your declaration page from your insurance carrier, or you know, today we have apps, you can have app on your phone, you can pull all the information on your phone, it shows you your bodily injury, all your coverages, your deductibles, everything all the way down to your towing and labor, rental car reimbursement, it has all the information on the app these days. Now, if you don't have the app on your phone and you don't have your declaration page, every time your auto insurance policy renews, they, you know, the insurance companies will send you a declaration page using 45 to 30 days in advance to let you know what your rate is going on the next six months or the next 12 months. Now you do have that option when you read your policy limits, and you read your deductibles. You do have an option to increase your deductibles to lower your car insurance, and then people say, well, if I raise it to $1,500 then then you know if I'm in an accident, then I got to pay the $1,500 not necessarily, not necessarily. Every situation is different. I've been, I've been in car accidents, and my deductible was $1,000 I did not pay it. I just took a cash settlement. I took a cash settlement, and they minus my deductible from the cash settlement. Now, what does that do for me? Now I get to, I get the cash, I get the check to go shopping on my own. When you go in a body shop, they ask who's paying for this. You are the insurance company, and it's a reason for that. It's a reason for that. Go in as a cash buyer, the conversation may be a little different now. If you do have $1,000 deductible, but you know the difference from being a cash buyer at the Body Shop is maybe a couple $100 maybe up to $500 you could pay that instead of paying $1,000 So, when you pay $1,000 deductible at the Body Shop, they put that money right in pocket. The insurance company does not get that money. For more information. My name is Don Marquez. When you're in a car accident, the first person you should contact is your agent. It is, it just, you know, hopefully you're okay. That's the main thing to make sure you're okay. But you should have a conversation with your insurance agent. This was why we're here. We're counselors. We're in a fiduciary position of trust, you come to us with your insurance concerns, you know, we will guide you through the process step by step. It is a little bit customer service for us, and you know, but it's better to talk to your agent. It really is. This is your go-to individual, you know, when something comes up, and they'll guide you through the process, and a lot of times, too, when you go through your insurance company, your agent, then your insurance company, you get your claims settled a lot faster, you know, because, of course, you get a lawyer, now the insurance company has to get a lawyer, everyone has to get litigated, that takes time, time goes on, all of a sudden, you know, I've seen people up to six years before they settle with attorneys. Now that is your option to get an attorney. I'm not saying not get an attorney, that is your option, but you know if you go through your own insurance company, that's an option too. You can go through your own insurance company because your attorney is going to charge you a 30, 40% of your money or your settlement. That's a lot, that is a lot, and you know they're, they do, they do quite well everywhere, because that's 30 40% of, you know, money you could add in your pocket, perhaps, and they put in their pocket to litigate for you, you know, your agent can litigate for you too, as well. This, we're here to help you through the process. Now, if it's a very serious car accident, then you may have to have an attorney, but you do have.. I'm just giving other options. I'm not saying not get an attorney, that is your option, that's your right, but you do have other options to settle the claim a lot faster. If you have to go to physical therapy, do that, go through your physical therapy or the claims department, that's why they're there to take all your claims and settle. The insurance company is going to pay either you or they're going to pay the lawyer either way. My name is Don Marquez. Yes, well, let's, we'll combine the home and auto together to give you what we call the bundle today to reduce the cost of your auto insurance, to reduce the cost of your homeowners insurance. I had a gentleman contact me, he had a water loss, he said, "Oh, man, you know, my homeowner's insurance went up, you know, almost doubled. What can I do? Can I shop? I said, "No, not really, because you know, your claim just closed, your rates went up. And he had a, he has a, he had a $500 deductible. At first time, I asked him, "How much is your deductible? He said, "$500. Now, now, he didn't pay the $500 but what he did, he got the settlement right, and now he got his own persons, you know, his own contractor to repair the water loss. Now that being said, now when he gets his policy renewal, he noticed the increase. He noticed the increase. He said, "What should I do? I have a $500 deductible? He increased his deductible to $5,000 He said, I'm not filing another claim anytime soon. Hopefully I won't, but what will my rate be at $5,000 He was very pleased at his rate at $5,000 I said, well, okay, well, there you go. He said, man, thank you so much. I had no idea I had that option. And again, like I said earlier, this is why you talk to your insurance agent. Now, again, you don't pay these deductibles, you just take the cash settlement, that you know it's sometimes you may have to pay a little bit, but if you just take the cash settlement, the insurance offer, and if it's not enough, here we go. If it's not, if it's a low ball offer from the insurance company always get two or three estimates, right? So, if the claim adjuster says, okay, they're low, and you feel like, well, I don't think I can get it done for that. So, you get two, three estimates and compare your estimates to the con to the insurance company's estimates, they will raise their estimate. It's as simple as that. It's as simple as that. I had a car, you know, it was stolen from me, unfortunately. And they want, they want to lowball me. They don't, they don't care if I'm an insurance agent. I know better. So I got three estimates. This is my, this is my vehicle, this is the might make mile, make, make, you know, mileage model, everything matched right the same year, make model with the same features on it, and it was a lot more than they want to offer me, and I said, I can't purchase that car for that, I cannot replace it for that, and they raise the price almost three times as much, and this is why again, you need your agent to guide you through the process, you know, your agent is your person of trust that they'll guide you through the process, and if you can't get your agent, you know, I don't charge anything to come see me, you know, you hear me on KU and V 91.5 jazz more every Sunday morning from 8am to 830 this is what I do, I love this. Is what I love to do. Sometimes you know, I'll sell the policy, and this is how I get compensated, and sometimes I don't, because you know, but you say you'll walk away with an experience that you know what. The added protection that your family needs, when it comes to a life insurance policy, it is simple. I had a young lady contact me. She said, you know, I'm paying for this life insurance, and I said, what you're doing is buying money. That's all you're doing is buying money, and you pay on a little bit at a time. You can't buy money for this low cost. You just can't, you know. You can't borrow money for this low cost. So, if you want $100,000 life insurance policy, you know, you just pay a little bit toward every month, you just can't just get $100,000 from the bank and say, okay, I need $100,000 from the bank, borrow 100,000 from the bank, and your payments are low, no, they're gonna be very expensive. So life insurance is looking like this, it's an instant savings account, it's the only vehicle out there that's instant, say you can try to buy stocks, or you can try to buy bonds, you know. Bonds takes, why it takes a while for bonds to grow. It takes stocks time to grow, and sometimes stocks go up and down, sometimes bonds go up and down. But life insurance is there when your family's going to need it. I have options. I have term, universal life, whole life, right? You know, I don't sell accidental only. I don't offer accidental only to my clients, but I do have term, universal life, whole life. If you have underlying health conditions, by diabetes, lupus, a history of cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, if you're on dialysis, Alzheimer's, dementia. Let's have a conversation. I have policies up to $50,000 in coverage. There's no health examination to apply. Just a few questions. Most people qualify with even health issues.
