About Meg & The Daily Pep!
I’m Meg and I’m the host of The Daily Pep! and The Couragemakers Podcast and founder of The Rebel Rousers. I’m a coach, writer and all-round rebel-rouser for creative and multi-passionate women to do the things only they can do and build a wholehearted life. When I'm not recording episodes, writing bullshit-free Letters of Rebellion to my wonderful Couragemakers community or hosting workshops/group programmes, I'm usually covered in paint or walking my wonderfully weird cockapoo Merlin.

Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Monday to you. So one of the things that I've committed This year as we are traveling is to keep a bit of a daily log. So every day, I write up a couple of paragraphs at what we did, where we went Because I know that I've got a pretty shitty memory, and I know future Meg will be seriously grateful for all the recollections And also to see how it actually was versus the way that our brains can sometimes spin things in our memory. A couple of days ago, I was writing at what we'd done that day. And I realized that I started the entry by saying, well, today was a disaster. And I really had to catch myself in that moment because the day was most certainly not a disaster, Not on the grand scheme of things. I can't even remember what in particular was going on, which shows you how much of a nondisaster it was. But I think it had a lot to do with a lot of plans changing, not being able to do a load of the things we wanted to because of the weather and the ice, And just generally not being in the best of moods, which we all get.

And the reason I'm sharing this with you today Is because I think it can be just so easy to go into catastrophizing. And seeing these kind of micro disappointments Or different things, and some massive failure or some massive big deal when they're really not. In all honesty, in hindsight, that day was a bit of a flop. But that was all it was, a flop. And honestly, Fluffy days are part of life, and they're to be expected. And even though our brains like to make us think that it's the end of the world at the time, It rarely, rarely is. I know quite a while ago here on the daily pep, I talked about how as those of us who struggle with our mental health, A bad day can feel like we're spiraling, but it can just be a blip. The same way as some shitty days Can just be a bit of a flop and not a huge failure.

Now this is not to go all toxic positivity on you Or to make you feel bad about having those catastrophic days because we all do have them too. But it's just about keeping our dream shitter in check a bit And figuring out, okay, what actually is a failure and what isn't? And what is just something that's slightly disappointing or a bit of a let Down that we can bounce back from. So this is something to ponder over as you go about your day to day. Our brains love a problem to solve, so let it solve these 2 for you. What if it's just a blip? Or what if it's just a flop? Have a good one. Keep going. You're doing better than you think, and I'll see you tomorrow.
