S E O dash power. You can sign up for the replay, get access to the group is still open for another week. Today's July 27th is open for one more week. Come join, meet some other business owners and learn a little bit more and download your workbook. Today we're going to go over just some high level things.
First we talk about the fundamentals. What exactly is SEO? SEO stands for search engine optimization. And basically it's where you are optimizing your website so that it is more visible to search engines such as Google. Think about when a potential client is searching for you, dietician or therapist, and they're typing in dietician or therapist near me.
We want your website to be at the top of those search results. In order to do that, we have to put together a strategy. We have to think about what are the relevant keywords. We need to make sure we're creating high quality content and having a good user experience. Definitely think about how you can leverage SEO to help impact the growth of your practice.
What exactly are keywords? So keyword research is the cornerstone of a successful SEO strategy because we need to know what people are looking for. And also, what is the intent behind what they're looking for? I recommend that you use tools like Google keyword, planner, Uber suggest SEMrush, check out all of those and see which one you like and fits into your budget. Uber suggest has a free version. If you've ever ran a Google ad, you have access to Google keyword planner.
And just find one and start typing things in, and you may be surprised to see that what you thought people were looking for. They actually aren't or, you know, you might be surprised. That they are looking for something that you didn't think they would be looking for. So we really don't know until we look at that data.
When you're building your website. You really need to pay attention to your on page SEO and follow those best practices. This includes, you know, thinking about your keywords for each page. And thinking about your page title, the headings throughout the copy on your page. Meta description. That is where the little description of the website shows up in Google search. And of course the content you can not just keyword stuff that does not work. It has to be high quality, well structured content that.
Is beneficial to the reader because Google knows. One thing that I feel like a lot of private practices don't realize they should take advantage of is local SEO. It's unlikely that we're going to create a website and the next week we're going to start ranking for just the word nutritionist. But. We may rank for that word in a local area, depending on how much competition you have. Right.
So that's again where you want to get really specific. And that's again where niches come into play, because if someone's looking for eating disorder, dietician, That is going to give them different results or even more nice results than just dietitian. But really take advantage of that local SEO
and just think about some strategies that you can do that can really enhance the local SEO aspect of your website.
Google my business. I feel like a lot of private practice owners miss this one., I know that some people are worried about people being able to leave reviews, but it's such a powerful tool, especially when it comes to that local SEO and it's free. And, you know, it shows up in Google search and Google maps, Google my business. It just makes you seem legitimate. And also just think about when you have searched for businesses on Google.
And if they don't have a Google my business. Subconsciously, we're just kind of questioning, you know, is this a legitimate business that I am going to trust?
The next thing is something you probably all have heard of backlinks. And I'm talking about high quality backlinks, not, you know, there's some, some places that will just. You know, hire them to do a bunch of random backlinks. You don't want that. You want really good high quality backlinks from domains that are well-recognized and have a high authority.
The ways that you can do that is reaching out to journalists, signing up for help or help a reporter out. It's a website where you can connect with journalists and get quoted in articles , For different organizations. And that would be a good way. And then getting into some directories again, going back to that local SEO, find those local directories.
And, you know, one thing you could try also is guest posting on reputable blogs, but really those quotes and of course, podcast episodes, I'm always looking for new guests. So, if you feel like you have something that would be helpful to our listeners, I'm all ears. Think about basically it's networking, but online.
I always tell clients if you built the most amazing restaurant. I ever had the best food in the world. I had the best service in the world. Everyone says, this is the best restaurant I've ever seen. You put it in the middle of the desert. You don't tell anybody it's there. And no one's going to know.
It doesn't matter. So you could have the best business setup, the best private practice set up, had the best service be the best dietician or therapist that you can be. But it doesn't matter if people don't know. And it's the same thing with your website. It doesn't matter if Google and the internet and people don't know. So just think about how you can network and how you can tie that into.
, basically promoting your website and getting those links. The next one is user experience. So user experience is obviously very important because you want people to engage on your website and they're not going to do that. If they're not having a good experience, that means when they go onto their phone or their tablet or their desktop, that your website looks great on all of those things.
And then don't do all of this work without monitoring it and measuring all of your effort. We want to see what the results are. You know, what is working, what is not working? What can we make better? So definitely use something like Google analytics for that. So you can track your website, traffic, and user behavior, and those conversion rates.
And if you want more of these tips definitely recommend, like I said, going and listening to that workshop and downloading that workbook, because this is just skimming the surface of the things we discussed. I gave tons of action items. For everyone to use. And I just, like I told the people that attended live.
Do not overwhelm yourself with all those action items. And even with everything I talked about today, You cannot do all of this in a day. This is, this is a marathon. It's not a sprint. So i just like i told them and i can go hear me say in the workshop recording i want you to take one thing One thing Each week or every two weeks whatever works for you And focus on that one thing because you cannot do all of this at once be gentle with yourself give yourself some grace And know that your efforts will pay off in the long run but You just need to let the seo magic take a little bit of time So thank you so much for listening today and can't wait to see you next week
