Homes England has announced that its provisional figures for the year show that it has exceeded its annual targets, despite poor market conditions.
As the agency holding the responsibility for housing and regeneration across the country, Homes England works alongside local, regional and national organisations. This has led to achievements such as the completion of more than 32,000 homes, beating the annual target of 29,641.
Progress has also been made on Homes England’s remit around placemaking and regeneration, with powers, land, capital and technical expertise being used to support regeneration and housing schemes across places that are of high priority.

Plaid Cymru has confirmed that it has ended its cooperation agreement with the Welsh Government.
Ending with immediate effect at the end of last week, a statement from the third-largest party in the Senedd outlined how important the agreement has been in achieving a number of positive outcomes, including the rolling out of free school meals for all primary school pupils, and the expansion of the free childcare offer. The statement also spoke about how the collaboration between Plaid Cymru and Welsh Labour was central to other important aspects, such as the responses to Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic.
This news comes only a matter of weeks after a similar agreement was ended by the Scottish Green Party, eventually leading to the resignation of the now former Scottish First Minister.

South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) has announced that it has been awarded funding to help the government deliver a new service to improve work and health.
The region was one of 15 areas that has been selected by the Department for Work and Pensions and the Department of Health and Social Care to support the delivery of the WorkWell partnership. Part of the government’s Back to Work Plan, WorkWell is looking to develop on the previous success of Working Win, the flagship programme of the SYMCA, that has already supported more than 6,500 people with a disability or mental health condition.
Mayor of South Yorkshire, and Chair of the region’s Integrated Care Partnership, Oliver Coppard said “The poor health that scars our region doesn’t just hold back our economy, it stops people from making the most of their talents, and enjoying the lives they deserve.
