I’m Leah Brueggemann, a Functional Diagnostic Nutritional® Practitioner and Hormone Health Coach, helping you balance your hormones in effective and realistic ways so you can live a healthier, happier life.

Five years ago, I found out I had fibroadenomas (benign breast tumors), which 90% of the time return after surgical removal. I decided not to undergo the operation and instead found a way to heal the underlying cause. After years of extreme pain, irregular cycles, and ovarian cysts, I finally learned how to balance my hormones which healed my fibroadenomas and led me to regular, pain-free periods.

I learned how to make lifestyle shifts, remove toxins from my environment, and give my body what it actually needs to function optimally and heal on a cellular level. After my experience, I became a Functional Diagnostic Nutritional® Practitioner so that I can empower women in their own holistic health journey.

Even if you’ve been told your labs are normal or that your symptoms aren’t a cause for concern - YOU are the expert of your body and your experience. You deserve to feel AMAZING, not just “normal”. I’m here to help you achieve optimal overall health through simple, straightforward lifestyle changes that you can start to implement today.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about this.

[SPEAKER_00]: So let's say your thyroid lab is completely optimal.

[SPEAKER_00]: TSH is between point five and two.

[SPEAKER_00]: All your markers look really great.

[SPEAKER_00]: Your antibodies are normal for below the low.

[SPEAKER_00]: People would say normal.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're negative.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have them.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have any type of an autoimmune issue going on.

[SPEAKER_00]: But your types are really low.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's say like when you're doing your basal body times, they're consistently below like ninety seven point five.

[SPEAKER_00]: You feel like you have cold hands and feet.

[SPEAKER_00]: You feel like you're dealing with hair loss.

[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the balancing hormones naturally podcast.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is your podcast host, Leah Brugman.

[SPEAKER_00]: I am a functional diagnostic nutritional practitioner.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here you're going to get actionable steps you can take today to start balancing your hormones naturally so that you can maximize your menstrual cycle for painless periods, more energy and weight loss.

[SPEAKER_00]: Learn my three secrets to balancing hormones naturally.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just go to freehormonetraining.com and save your spot.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's dive on it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So today I want to talk about why you have run labs, you run labs for your hormone, you run labs for

[SPEAKER_00]: pretty much probably anything, and you feel like it doesn't match your symptoms.

[SPEAKER_00]: You still have all these symptoms, but you're being told left and right, your labs are normal.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, there's nothing we can do for you, which is obviously extremely frustrating.

[SPEAKER_00]: And actually a lot more common than you would think, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because maybe you're feeling bloated, you're feeling anxious, you're feeling exhausted, your periods are awful, and you're really not imagining it.

[SPEAKER_00]: You just haven't run the right labs, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: This is even I've had a client for example who came from a family of doctors and she had had all the labs run right because she had the resources to be able to just run all these labs and everything was coming back normal and she was postpartum about six months postpartum had no energy couldn't lose any weight and she said I just don't feel like

[SPEAKER_00]: the mom I want to be.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have energy to play with my kid.

[SPEAKER_00]: I come home from work.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm exhausted.

[SPEAKER_00]: But everything was normal.

[SPEAKER_00]: And this is where running the right labs can really give you an edge.

[SPEAKER_00]: And first of all, I want to kind of talk about what functional labs are.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I feel like they kind of have a live on a world of their own right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: And everyone goes, oh, you just need functional passing.

[SPEAKER_00]: But what is functional testing?

[SPEAKER_00]: And did you know the blood work can be functional testing?

[SPEAKER_00]: It can.

[SPEAKER_00]: You just have to be looking at the right ranges.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then I also feel like functional testing can go into the realm of much deeper testing.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, not just your basic lipid panel or stool test or anything like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: So

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just start with basic blood piano.

[SPEAKER_00]: For example, if you were going to ask your doctor to have a thyroid panel done, they're going to be running TSH and that's it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that makes me laugh because TSH isn't even produced by your thyroid.

[SPEAKER_00]: So obviously not a thyroid panel, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And when your doctor is looking at these ranges,

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a very wide range of what they call normal.

[SPEAKER_00]: Over here, you have people that are really sick, and over here, you have people that are really healthy, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And you're probably smacked up in the middle.

[SPEAKER_00]: Your labs aren't bad enough to be told that you're really sick, and obviously need to have medication, and you're not really healthy where you're asymptomatic, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And so you're told you're normal, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, that's not useful for us because you still have symptoms, but you have to also think about it from the doctors perspective, because you're not sick enough

[SPEAKER_00]: to be given medication.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's not trained in nutrition.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's not trained in lifestyle, which is what would move those markers over to the really healthy.

[SPEAKER_00]: So obviously, you're normal.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're not sick.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're not dying.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're good.

[SPEAKER_00]: So what we look at for functional ranges are functionalities.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.

[SPEAKER_00]: are shutting over here is much tighter ranges, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: We're looking for the range that is asymptomatic, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have any symptoms, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And that means that those markers are much, much, much, much, much tighter, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's where, yes, you can actually run blood work.

[SPEAKER_00]: That can be looked at through a functional lens.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you can run a full thyroid panel, which if you're just wondering, what is a

[SPEAKER_00]: I personally like to see TSH, free T-three, free T-four, diversity three, and both antibodies.

[SPEAKER_00]: But also like a lipid panel, a metabolic panel, fasting, insulin, and all of those things can be looked at through functional lens and actually give you a lot of insight.

[SPEAKER_00]: into your detox capability and liver load and all of that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to run all of these special labs to run hormone labs, you know, that look at functional ranges and to get answers.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just call hormone labs, hormone labs are basically going to give you the correct insight on what you need.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I will tell you that

[SPEAKER_00]: A lab that I often have my clients run is basic lip panel because I love to see what fasting insulin looks like.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love to see what fasting glucose looks like.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love to see what your A-one see is and gives us a starting range of where we can dig deeper.

[SPEAKER_00]: We love to see who our kidneys and our liver could maybe use some more work.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I hope that explains the difference between functional and conventional like ranges.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then the other big difference when you're looking at, I have hormone issues where can I go from here?

[SPEAKER_00]: What other things you can do to help you uncover what's going on with your hormones outside of a place like basic blood panel goes into the labs that I think people really would call more functional labs because you typically don't get these at your conventional doctor.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's where they really

[SPEAKER_00]: got that name and some of these are really you know taken on a world that they're own and like really having their moment which is cool fun which is foundational for all my clients is a heritage mineral analysis okay and let me talk about why it's foundational minerals are the spark plugs to your body so this is going to help you understand adrenal health a blood sugar thyroid at more of that cellular level so

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about this.

[SPEAKER_00]: So let's say your thyroid lab is completely optimal.

[SPEAKER_00]: TSH is between point five and two.

[SPEAKER_00]: All your markers look really great.

[SPEAKER_00]: Your antibodies are in normal for it below the low people to normal.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're negative.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have them.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have any type of an autoimmune issue going on.

[SPEAKER_00]: But your types are really low.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's say like when you're doing your basal body temps or consistently below like ninety seven point five.

[SPEAKER_00]: You feel like you have cold hands and feet.

[SPEAKER_00]: You feel like you're dealing with hair loss.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then we look at minerals.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we look at your hair tissue mineral analysis.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we see that the minerals that are very specific to thyroid health like potassium.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, calcium are not where they should be.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the cool thing about potassium is it actually sensitizes the cell to your thyroid hormone.

[SPEAKER_00]: So even though at a glandular level, thyroid is doing just fine, if we don't have enough potassium, then unfortunately, you're going to have a lot of issues of

[SPEAKER_00]: Hypothyroidism, even though it's not at a glandular level, it starts at the cellular level.

[SPEAKER_00]: And something else to kind of consider here is that potassium's are stress mineral.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the more stress you are, the more depleted you are and potassium, the more depleted you are, potassium, the more stress you are.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then on top of that potassium is one of the co-factors for magnesium, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: What is one of the minerals we also need for thyroid health, magnesium?

[SPEAKER_00]: So not only are we being depleted in potassium, we don't have enough potassium, so we're not sensitizing ourselves for a thyroid hormone, but then we're unable to utilize magnesium correctly and you just have a world of hurt, which is why stress actually

[SPEAKER_00]: plays such a big role in thyroid issues.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I know we talk about managing stress all the time, but I hope that that's a very real life example for you in terms of how it impacts your actual labs.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, does that mean that we should go out and take potassium supplementation?

[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't actually think you should.

[SPEAKER_00]: Unless you've tested, please don't do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's not intelligent.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can always look at it.

[SPEAKER_00]: through food, which is really quite useful.

[SPEAKER_00]: But that's a very real life example of why heresus human neural analysis is one of my foundational labs with all of my clients.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then on top of that, you have to look through it through the lens of somebody focused on hormones, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: So I know people that run heresus human neural analysis, misses, that are dentists.

[SPEAKER_00]: But they're not going to be looking at it through the lens of what's going on with your hormones.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be looking at it through the lens of how can we optimize these minerals for your teeth, your dental health, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm looking at it through the lens of how I can optimize your hormones.

[SPEAKER_00]: So when I gave you an example of the thyroid, another example is going to be copper.

[SPEAKER_00]: So copper plays a really big role with estrogen.

[SPEAKER_00]: So think about copper making estrogen to stronger.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not increasing the amount of estrogen.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's making it stronger.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if you have a cup of water and you put food flavoring in it, that's clear.

[SPEAKER_00]: Think about that as estrogen.

[SPEAKER_00]: And let's say I put a colored food flavoring in that would be adding copper to the estrogen now.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like the in your face, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: That's how copper and estrogen interact.

[SPEAKER_00]: in copper is something that we look at on a hair tissue mineral analysis, because you do need copper.

[SPEAKER_00]: Copper actually plays a really big role in fertility.

[SPEAKER_00]: It plays a big role in implantation.

[SPEAKER_00]: It plays a really big role in the optimization of iron in your body.

[SPEAKER_00]: It also plays a really big role in your gut health and digestion.

[SPEAKER_00]: But too much copper, not good, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And now this is where we come to play with our dreamals.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because our dreamals need the minerals they need

[SPEAKER_00]: to function and produce what's called surreal plasma, which is how we transport copper through our body.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if we aren't producing enough surreal plasma, if our adrenals don't have the minerals that they need to function, and then we are starting to get overloaded with this copper, your body is really smart.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's very smart.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it is going to start storing that copper in soft tissue, like the liver, for example, because we can't just have all this toxic copper circulating around, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: Our body's function is always to support us and keep us alive, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And then what happens is maybe you're like, I have hormonal issues, I need a search for my liver, and you search for your liver, and your liver goes great.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's start moving this copper, but we didn't start at the foundation.

[SPEAKER_00]: And now you're mobilizing all this copper and you start having more issues, maybe you're more acne, maybe you're starting to have a lot of mental health issues, maybe you're starting to have a lot of anxiety.

[SPEAKER_00]: your periods are getting worse, maybe.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're having heavier periods, more period cramps.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's copper.

[SPEAKER_00]: So this is why her tissue mineral analysis for me is the foundational lab.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I love all a lot of other labs.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I use a lot of other labs when it comes to hormones, but I always start with her tissue mineral analysis.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the reason why is because minerals are the spark plugs every functioning your body.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if you are having hormonal issues, I can promise you if I look at your Dutch tests, it's gone looks growing.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to look spooky, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: But then we have to go upstream and go, okay, where can we support all of these functions before they even make it to hormones?

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's minerals.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's why I start with her tissue mineral analysis.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is so important.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you can get her tissue mineral analysis through our membership.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if you go to leabrewgumen.com and you go to services, you can

[SPEAKER_00]: In our membership, you're allowed to get these labs that you want and have us analyze them for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is also one of the labs that's included in our hormone reset program, which is our six month from program where we're literally going to walk you through the complete transformation of resetting your hormone.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're already like, okay, I need all of those things.

[SPEAKER_00]: Book your call, literally.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just go to bit.ly slash HP free call.

[SPEAKER_00]: You literally can go and hop on a call.

[SPEAKER_00]: and talk to one of my past clients and get her's perspective, share your story, see if the hormone resets a good fit, be confident stepping into this journey that we are the right people to partner with.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, another test that I think is something that will go into my hormone lab category would be a dot chest.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the reason why I like this one over just blood, I do like using blood.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a great way to get a quick snapshot, but I really do like the Dutch test as well because it identifies not just hormone levels, but their pathway.

[SPEAKER_00]: So how you detox estrogen?

[SPEAKER_00]: How much cortisol you're making?

[SPEAKER_00]: How much DHA?

[SPEAKER_00]: How much testosterone?

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's really important to see all of these things when you're looking at hormones, not just to look at cortisol.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the reason why I don't want to just look at cortisol is because DHA, we produce in response to cortisol.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if, for example, you have normal looking cortisol levels, but you have all of the symptoms of somebody who technically would have tamed cortisol, that's when we look in, are we in a transition phase?

[SPEAKER_00]: where we in an acute state of stress in our cortisol was really, really high before.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody goes, I cannot keep out putting this much cortisol.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is dangerous.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it goes stop, stop, pull it down, pull it down.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you're still dealing with the same amount of stress that would require all of that cortisol.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so now you're fatigued and you're tired.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even though cortisol levels are, quote unquote, normal.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you guys have like a drain or product or something that you use that just makes you feel bougie?

[SPEAKER_00]: because for me, that's peak macho.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I've tried a lot of macho, so I always thought they tasted like dirt.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I love peak macho.

[SPEAKER_00]: I came across it two years ago, and I've been literally using it that long.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I partly think that maybe it just makes me feel on top of the world because you get that very clean, sustained subtle energy from the green tea plus the althianine calmness that's in it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe it's just because

[SPEAKER_00]: They're all of their packaging is just so beautiful that I love using it, but I love their radiant skin duo.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that is their matcha, their sun goddess macha, and then their BT fountain electrolytes.

[SPEAKER_00]: And their macha is quadruple screened for heavy metals.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's important.

[SPEAKER_00]: and there be teeth out and electrolytes have ceramides in it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's also great for anti-aging.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we're just crushing it on all ends.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you guys, there are electrolytes, tastes like pink lemonade.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like that perfect combo between sweet, sour and awesome.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you get the best bang for your buck when you just buy them as the duo.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're gonna want them both.

[SPEAKER_00]: So just save your money and buy them as a duo.

[SPEAKER_00]: You will

[SPEAKER_00]: Literally, you will think me, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: So if you go to peaklife.com forward slash BHN, you get twenty percent off the radiant skin duo and you also get a free starter kick, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's peaklife PIQUE Life.com forward slash BHN to get twenty percent off the radiant skin duo plus a free starter kick.

[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, our body's always trying to keep us alive.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can get a better idea of where that transition is going on by also looking at DHA in comparison to your cortisol.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, dance, where, again, this all starts to pull together.

[SPEAKER_00]: Another thing that you can see on the Dutch is metabolized cortisol, which is the ability of the adrenal cell.

[SPEAKER_00]: But cortisol, so I find that to be very useful as well.

[SPEAKER_00]: We literally, I mean, I, I think you can find out so many things from the Dutch test that if you're looking at it from the right lens.

[SPEAKER_00]: I recently was looking at somebody's Dutch task to, they had it ran.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they were looking at it going, I mean, it looks pretty normal, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: So why am I dealing with all of this fatigue?

[SPEAKER_00]: Why am I dealing with all of this acne?

[SPEAKER_00]: And I put on my little like hormone lens glasses.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I looked at it for them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was telling them, you know, you have to look at it all together.

[SPEAKER_00]: So even though it's not horrible looking in the terms of a Dutch lab, your estrogen is trending on the much higher side and you can see that your liver was not keeping up with the amount of estrogen that was outputted.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then that cortisol and DHA pattern was so insightful for her because we saw that she had been in a cute stress and she wasn't anymore.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, well, her body was still stressed, but her body wasn't producing that same amount of cortisol anymore, which you, if you're still dealing with the same amount of stress, but you aren't out putting the same amount of cortisol, you are tired.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're very, very tired.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so it always cracks me up when I see on TikTok and

[SPEAKER_00]: All these social media patterns where people are like, color design, I need the cortisol fixing drink, which if any of you have ever wondered, like, what's in the cortisol?

[SPEAKER_00]: What is that hook, they always say, like, fix your cortisol drink?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's definitely viral.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's anti-oxidance.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's very good marketing.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's just anti-oxidance.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because antioxidants are going to help with the oxidation that's happening due to stress.

[SPEAKER_00]: Antioxidants are very cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: And typically has magnesium.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so that's what's in that viral cortisol fixing drink.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, not saying that those things are bad.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying that's what it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's just the basics.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so that's why I love to dodge.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it can give you a lot of deeper insight than just blood.

[SPEAKER_00]: If I need faster results for someone, I will run a book panel.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, another one that goes into the

[SPEAKER_00]: hormone labs is GEMA.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I prefer the GIMA test versus just dual testing because of how they test certain things.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I find that you don't get a lot of false negatives that you would get with other stool tests.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, the reason why I love this is there's a few things.

[SPEAKER_00]: Fine, you can look at something called beta-glucoronid.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's on a GIMA.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, beta-glucoronidase is an enzyme that's produced in your gut and

[SPEAKER_00]: If it is too high, it actually unbinds toxins, so then we have this re-circulation of estrogen.

[SPEAKER_00]: So think about it as we don't really believe in it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And your body produces the correct things to bind to toxins that we can poop them out.

[SPEAKER_00]: and beta-glacronidase is too high, it unbines the toxin and the estrogen is just going to go through.

[SPEAKER_00]: It keeps researching.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you are therefore not detoxing correctly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, this is often seen with somebody who feels like they do all of the detox things and it's not working.

[SPEAKER_00]: We may want to look at what's going on with beta-glacronidase and the gut that can be really, really useful.

[SPEAKER_00]: Another thing that I really love about the GIM app is looking for HPLory.

[SPEAKER_00]: And HPLory is a bacterium that resides in the stomach.

[SPEAKER_00]: It lowers your stomach acid.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, why is this an issue?

[SPEAKER_00]: If we don't have enough stomach acid, we're not going to be digesting our food well.

[SPEAKER_00]: So therefore, you're not going to be pulling the nutrients that you need from your food.

[SPEAKER_00]: If we don't have optimal stomach acid, that also starts to make us a perfect host for overgrowth of bacteria.

[SPEAKER_00]: It starts to make us a perfect host for parasites to come live their best life, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And so you have to be, we want optimal stomach acid.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, it's parlorious and another one that plays a big role in thyroid issues and

[SPEAKER_00]: And not observing your thyroid hormone or thyroid medication and things like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the GI map can really play a really big role in how you are utilizing everything.

[SPEAKER_00]: The GI map is not something I always start off with.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know for a lot of people to found additional labs that they start with.

[SPEAKER_00]: But again, I want to start with some other foundations first.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to like start with optimizing your poop schedule.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to start with optimizing your sleep.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to start with optimizing your blood sugar balance.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to start with optimizing your minerals and then then I will run a GI map.

[SPEAKER_00]: And also sometimes I will run an HDMI and I see so many red flags on it and go, okay, you need to run a GI map because we need to know what is going on in your gut.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right now, because you can also see what types of overgrowth of bacteria are there, whether you don't have good

[SPEAKER_00]: back to your enough good bacteria.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I find that to be really useful.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're eating well, you're working out, you're trying all the hormone friendly hacks, but it's not working.

[SPEAKER_00]: Your exhausted before the day even started, your cravings fill out of control, your mood swings are real, and you keep thinking blood sugar, blood sugar, blood sugar, because I'm pounding this into your head, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: But you don't actually know what to do with that information.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's where the Nutrisense Program comes in.

[SPEAKER_00]: You wear a glucose biosensor that gives you twenty-four seven data on how your food stress, sleep, and movement affect your blood sugar.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you aren't going to get stuck staring at the numbers because I see that happen all the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: You actually get paired with a glucose-certified dietitian who helps you turn that data into simple, structured shifts that fit your life.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is zero dollars out of pocket for a mouth, which is wild to actually get that covered to talk one on one with a glucose-certified dietitian.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're ever wondering, why am I crashing up to this movie?

[SPEAKER_00]: Why are my cravings spiking right before my period?

[SPEAKER_00]: Why do I feel wired before bed?

[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm dragging all day.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, this is where your metabolism training meets you where you are.

[SPEAKER_00]: So this is going to be no guessing, no extremes, no shame.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're just going to get the steady sustainable change backed by your body's actual data.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if you are done starting over every couple weeks, and you want to feel more grounded and empowered, and actually have a very simple step-by-step plan that you can follow, go to neutrosense.io slash lieth and use code lieth, thirty three to save thirty three percent on your neutrosense program.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's N-U-T-R-I-S-E-N-S-E dot I-O slash lieth.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then a bonus one that I do like to see in the Functional Well, this is an OAT test, which is an organic acid test, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: You can see a lot of markers for like fungal overgrowth in the body, which can then impact how you are digesting oxalates is all has to do with mold.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I will recommend running as if I see signs for on an HDMI or we see signs for it in their lifestyle.

[SPEAKER_00]: It also can give us really good ideas on methylation status or how you are methylating.

[SPEAKER_00]: It can also tell us like how you are detoxing if you're

[SPEAKER_00]: toxic exposure is really high, which I think are all really good things to know if you're diving deeper.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is it the first one I would start with not necessarily, but it is one that I often use because I think it can give a lot of insight especially if I think the client may be having issues with mold or methylation, just like methylation in the terms of they don't have enough of the nutrients they need to do it, to do methylation.

[SPEAKER_00]: or like if we're having somebody that has a lot of issues with PMDD and neural transmitters and dopamine and all of that, then I would also run an Otest.

[SPEAKER_00]: So those are like my bonus things of what I would look for.

[SPEAKER_00]: What to ask for and look for, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: So basically, if you're working with someone and they're only doing basic blood work,

[SPEAKER_00]: I do think that you can see a lot with basic blood work, but I think that you need to dive a little bit deeper, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that you can have more answers, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: So if you feel like your labs have come back normal and you still have a lot of symptoms, let's explore some other labs.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's figure out what you need, not just blood work.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that is something that we do in the hormone reset program.

[SPEAKER_00]: And everything's customized.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I just want to talk about this really quickly because

[SPEAKER_00]: I will, I want you to see results.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want you to feel better, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And that may mean running certain labs.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't throw the book at you right when you come through the dorm.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have to run this, this, this, this, this, this and this.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you're walking out of the door running two thousand dollars just in labs, not counting the analysis or supplements or your lifestyle changes or anything like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I would rather

[SPEAKER_00]: I would rather not do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I start with an HDMI.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's my basis because I feel like out of all of the labs is the most cost effective, but also it gives so much bang for your buck, so much bang for your buck.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can see so many things with minerals.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then I let the HDMI guide me.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I go, okay, based on these markers, if we don't see improvement in XYZ in about eight weeks, then we're gonna run this test.

[SPEAKER_00]: or sometimes I see some markers that are so wild, I'm like, you need to run a GMF right now, or you need to run an OTS right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that is my recommendation to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't start off the bat with all of these labs because I don't necessarily think you need all of those labs right away.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think through tools to help you dig deeper as needed to see what's going on with your hormones.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you have to remember when hormones are off, you have to go upstream to see what's causing your hormones to be off.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why I start with minerals.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that is like the foundational functional lab.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can see so much

[SPEAKER_00]: but also from a functional lead.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that is so, so important.

[SPEAKER_00]: because I, HTML is taking off.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's getting its own life, which is so cool, but also not cool in the fact that there's so many people out there that are just giving you a generic, like, blanky blanket.

[SPEAKER_00]: I will have practitioners and my DMs and they're like, hey, and looking at this HTML and or even their own HTML makes no sense to me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, this would mean that I'm not gonna throw them under the bus.

[SPEAKER_00]: But anyways, look, look at your HTML through a hormone lens if you're dealing with hormonal issues.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have to put all the puzzle pieces together.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can't just look at one marker.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that's where I think people get lost.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is they go, I have high tissue calcium.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have high magnesium.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have really high colbal.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have really high ferretton.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they try an individually manipulate these markers versus looking at the lab as a whole and the lifestyle and the history and going, what does this tell me?

[SPEAKER_00]: What can I do?

[SPEAKER_00]: to actually look at this lab in terms of

[SPEAKER_00]: supporting from the ground up versus just manipulating individual things.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that gives you a story.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when you have a story, that makes sense to the client, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And if it makes sense to you, you're going to implement and therefore you're going to see results.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why I think we do have such a high success rate with our clients is because we have such a high success rate of implementation because we can tie it together so well for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it makes so much sense with your symptoms that

[SPEAKER_00]: You're just literally like, yes, one hundred percent I need to do this right now, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: So if you have run the labs and you feel like they don't match your symptoms, you're not crazy.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're not looking at them through the right lens, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: And I really want you to think about it from how can you, instead of go, the labs aren't telling me the right answer.

[SPEAKER_00]: instead go maybe I'm not running the right labs or maybe I'm not just not looking at them through the right lens okay and that can give you a little bit more insight because I've had clients that have had HTML's done before and then they come I had one for example that she had Hashimoto's hand she actually had a history of cancer a long a long time ago like a long time ago and it wasn't like two or three years ago and

[SPEAKER_00]: She had had an HMA done before and she'd been on a protocol and she had felt better.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then she'd come to us and she had an HMA done and she was, oh my gosh, nobody ever made this connection to me before because she had something called really high tissue calcium, which is a numbing mineral.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when we were able to tie that together with her history and the rest of her lifestyle, she felt

[SPEAKER_00]: so seen and heard in her symptoms.

[SPEAKER_00]: And she goes, oh my gosh, this is why I have XYZ symptoms and we are able to put together a lifestyle support for her versus just a supplement to actually have that complete transformation for her.

[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love labs.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're there are big puzzle pieces and I think that with the right support you can love labs do.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if you are wanting to dive into that and you want support looking through a hormone lens and you actually are ready to have somebody walk through that with you step by step instead of just throwing a book at you and running all the labs and all the money when you just maybe need to look at things through different lens.

[SPEAKER_00]: I encourage you to check out the hormone reset program.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can go to bit.least-hRP-free call and you can talk to Alexis and Alexis is one of my past clients and she's awesome and guess what, guys, she's just about to finish becoming an FDN herself and so you can go talk to her and here she has to say about how we can help you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for listening to today's episode of balancing hormones naturally.
