Is your follow-up game a finely tuned strategy or does it look more like one friend who only texts when they need help moving? Be honest. If your follow-ups are feeling a little, Hey, remember me, then it's time for a glow up. Welcome back my friends to Realty Chatter Daily. Quick wins for realtors. I'm your host, Gary McGowan. And today we're tackling follow-ups, the art of staying top of mind without being, well, you know, annoying.

Think of it as being the difference between a trusted pro and that overly eager guy at the gym who won't stop talking about his protein shakes. Here's the reality check. Let's face it, nobody likes the awkward follow-ups. Not you, not your clients. But here's the thing, good follow-ups aren't awkward because they're not about you, they're about them. When you focus on what they need and how you can add value, you're no longer following up.
You're building a relationship. Here's a story. This one still makes me laugh. A few years back, one of my team members followed up with a lead who had ghosted them for weeks. Instead of the usual just checking in, they sent them a link to a house with a subject line. This kitchen has your name written all over, unless your name's not granite countertops. Guess what? They responded in 10 minutes. We've missed you. Can we go see it? Not only did it reopen the conversation,
but we close in that house two months later. The moral of the story is be thoughtful, be creative, and maybe make them laugh once in a while. Today's quick win, upgrade your follow-ups with these three golden rules. First, make it personal. Reference something specific they've mentioned, like their love of big kitchens or quiet neighborhoods. Secondly, add some fun. Light humor or a quirky subject line can make your message stand out.

And thirdly, be useful, share something valuable like a property or a market insight or even a quick tip they'll know or a quick tip they'll appreciate. Here's the insight. Follow-ups are not about reminding people you exist. They're about reminding them why they liked working with you in the first place. Think of every message as a mini audition for their trust. And if you're stuck on what to say, here's one of my favorites.
I saw this and thought of you. This is the, I saw this and thought of you is the Swiss army knife of followups. Pair it with a great listing, a helpful article, or even a hilarious Jeff. And you're good to go.
