What is Chapter + Verse?

A faith-forward podcast for people who love Jesus but also love being honest about how weird and wonderful life can be. Hosts Kerrye and Jill tell stories about the Bible, talk about their faith, and dig into what it looks like to follow God through the ordinary chaos of everyday, imperfect life. Real conversations. Real stories. No pretending to have it all together. Pull up a chair, turn the page, and let's go.

Welcome to Chapter and Verse, where people
tell real stories about faith, failure,

redemption, and those "Lord, I'm gonna
need you to explain this one" moments.

Some stories are inspiring, some
are messy, some are miraculous,

and some probably should have
come with a warning label.

But through every chapter of
every story, God has a plan.

And he's never been
afraid of a little chaos.

We're Jill.

And Kerrye.

Let's turn the page

Okay.

Well, we're here with our
good friends, Tim and Myra

Strecker, and their dog is here.

Yay.

Buck.

Buck.

Big Buck.

Little Buck.

He likes Strecker.

You'll, you'll see him in the picture.

He's so cute.

Yeah, he's so cute.

Yep.

Yeah.

And happy.

Mm-hmm.

Mm.

He is a good boy.

He's just- He's our sales agent.

No.

Well, he is- He's a good mascot.

I've equated us to the, uh, you
know, you see those middle-age

parents late in life- Yes

and their child is feral
because they're just tired?

Yes.

Yeah.

That's, that's what we are.

Yes.

So- Yeah … it's okay.

That, well, he seems very calm.

He is.

He's our second dog that's
been on our podcast.

Okay.

The Mayor and his wife-
Yeah … bro- their dog, so.

Okay.

Well- There you go … he's
something, that's for sure.

Yeah.

He is.

He needs to snooze.

That's all right.

Yeah.

We won't take offense to that.

Yeah.

He will probably go to sleep, so.

Yeah.

We may lay him in the
floor and let him sleep.

But anyway.

Well, it's all right.

Tell us a little bit about yourselves.

Tim and Myra Strecker.

Um, we've owned businesses in the River
Valley for a long time, and now- Mm-hmm

we are realtors with the Live Love
Arkansas- Mm-hmm … Tabitha Davis team.

Mm-hmm.

Um, I think it's given us
a another purpose in life.

Yeah.

Nice.

Yeah.

Really allows us to serve people.

Yeah.

Um, you meet all kinds of people- Mm-hmm.

Yeah … in real estate.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

And, um, it, it tests you.

Mm-hmm.

Lot, lot of testing.

You have to use the
ministry smile in that too.

You do.

Yeah.

Well, it's, it's 35 years too.

Yeah.

That we've been married.

Of us- So that- … that we've
been married And y'all have

had experience dealing with
people within business always.

Yeah.

We've- It's always been public.

Yeah.

Yeah.

You know.

Yeah.

Um, I'm more in the background.

I like the paperwork, the- Mm

negotiations.

Oh, okay.

That's my thing.

Tim is- I'm, I'm the talker.

He is.

Yeah.

He's the people person.

I, I've always been the talker, so.

So we work well.

So would you consider yourself
an introvert then, or no?

You know, I'm not with my circle.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

But I'm very, um…

I'm a little standoffish
until I get to know you.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

That's my personality, where
he's just like, "Hey, everybody."

Yeah.

Yeah.

And I'm- Yeah, and most of all
our clients that we've had, they,

they end up being friends of ours.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So, I mean- That's the one good
thing about it too … and, so Myra

is a little standoffish at first.

Now, when it comes to business,
she's gonna take care of business.

Yeah.

That's for sure.

Yep.

Yeah.

Um, and, you know, if it's a difficult
situation, she, she really can,

uh- Not become such an introvert,
let's say Are you a type eight?

I am an eight- I knew
it … with a wing nine.

Oh, that's good.

That's a good balance.

Yeah, that is a good balance.

I- I am, but I'm very,
"Let's get to the point."

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

"Let's get business done.

Let's…"

Kindred.

I forgot.

I forgot what I was.

We just done a DiSC.

You're gonna be, you're gonna be like
a- I think he's like a s- five, six.

I was gonna say five- Something
like that … 'cause they're

real, like, outgoing and friendly.

Yes.

Yeah.

I think that's what his was.

Six is more anxiety.

But, but I have- Yeah.

Yeah, he's not that … mine is,
is, uh, well, basically when we

done ours we had a, a, I think
she's a therapist or something.

Yes.

Uh, she, she went over all of them, and
mine was that I take, uh, she goes…

And she hadn't ever met me, and she
goes- No, they go real in-depth.

Yeah.

We do this all over in our office.

Yeah.

We do it- So she goes- … over
Zoom … "You married for a long time?"

Yeah.

I go, "Yeah."

She goes, uh, "She s- does
she do most of the bossing?"

I was like, "Yeah."

A- and, and but what I did
say was, though, I was like…

She goes, "But you, you allow
that, but you're kinda like

a fist with a velvet touch."

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

She says like, "'Cause your no's,
whenever you say it's not gonna happen

in the house, it's not gonna happen."

Yeah.

Yeah.

And I'm like, "Yeah, that is."

I mean, it was hilarious to me-
Mm-hmm … 'cause she hit me

right on the point, you know?

Yeah.

Yeah.

He's definitely- That's cool … head of
the household, but I turn the head a lot.

Yes.

Yeah.

Yeah.

But- Yeah … yeah, he is.

We talked about that, too.

Yeah.

He, he is, um, I will, I
will say that, because…

And it took a long time in our
walk with God- Mm-hmm … for

me to get to that point.

Yeah.

I, I feel you there.

Mm-hmm.

Well, another thing, too, you gotta…

And I think both of y'all
know how I was before.

Mm-hmm.

You know?

So I wasn't head of the
household, I was head of Tim.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Uh, you know, and 35 years of
marriage and, you know, like we told

y'all, we're gonna start doing a
few podcasts and, and probably- Yeah

a YouTube and different things.

You should.

So yeah, and…

'Cause especially nowadays, 'cause
everybody looks at divorce so easy.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

And I, I hate that.

Yep.

I hate that.

And, and you know what?

I, I, I'm not gonna lie, I blame the men.

Mm-hmm.

You know, I do.

I blame men in the household.

Mm-hmm.

But our direction with people
being fatherless in- Mm-hmm.

Yeah … you know, don't
have mom and dads no more.

It's split- Yeah … split relationships.

So a lot of guys fall, you
know, in a, in a slump maybe.

Yeah.

Um, my mom and dad were married for a
long time, went through ups and downs.

I, I, I felt that, you know-
Mm … growing up, so it, uh, it

kinda- prepared me whenever- Yeah

whenever I found God.

And, and that, that to me is the key.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

That's the key.

Yeah.

I, I thought, I, and I did, I
knew who God was, but I didn't

have that relationship- Yeah.

Mm-hmm … with God.

I didn't have a one-on-one.

And then when, uh, Big Ron
That's what I call him.

Ron Boyd.

Yeah.

Yeah.

That's what I call him.

When I called, when I called Big Ron,
or he called me out of the blue, and,

uh, the way everything rolled out,
and we won't get into all that, but,

uh- That's another chapter in yours.

Okay, okay.

Yeah, that's a whole nother-
Mm-hmm … three-hour long.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

But what did happen was, though, is
that relationship changed in a…

And I can't even say a second.

It's like a millennial second or-
Wow … you know, it's so extreme

change because I was at the point
where I was about to lose her.

We were- Mm-hmm … losing our
businesses, uh- Mm-hmm … you know,

and, but you know, that, that was good.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I mean, I, I was, I, I hate to say I'm
glad I lost my business 'cause you at

first wanna think of it as a failure,
but honestly it's not a failure.

Mm-hmm.

It's what God wants you to do.

He, He will bring you down until
where you cannot move- Yeah … again.

He's gonna take over the table.

He's trying to get on the- That's okay.

He wants to talk.

Mm-hmm.

He's like, "I didn't get to hang
out with those ladies over there."

That's right.

Yeah.

"What's going on?"

Oh, he'll walk across this table.

Yeah.

"What's going on?"

So…

Yeah.

Okay, so Myra, where's the start?

Okay.

So I listen to y'all's podcast.

Okay.

I hear everybody on here- … knowing
what they've talked about, you know?

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

It's such inspirational stories.

They are.

Um, one thing I don't know that we've
touched a lot on and how, you know, you

gotta walk through things- Mm-hmm, yep

to get the testimony from it.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

And this was a difficult walk for us.

Um, how to parent your adult
child- Ugh … when they are

going- Preach … through it.

Preach.

Um, you know, I always hear people
say, "I can't wait till they get

older," and I'm like, "Uh-uh.

I-" It's not over.

No.

No.

You…

Parenting an adult child is the
hardest thing I've ever done.

Yeah, it stinks.

It does, because they can
make- … their own decisions.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Exactly.

And they can do what they w- And
you're like, "It's, it's wrong.

It's wr- Don't do that."

Yeah.

"It's wrong.

It's wrong."

Yep.

Mm-hmm.

Um, and for Tim and I, we'll say, you
know, Savannah was a phenomenal child.

Mm.

I mean, she just was.

Yeah.

And we didn't have any problems.

Where she told us she was gonna
be, she was gonna be there.

Mm-hmm.

You know, she hung out with
her friends from church.

You know, her and
Caitlin grew up together.

Yeah, yeah.

You know, it's just, it…

She was easy.

Mm-hmm.

She, she was easy.

And, and she just…

Well, she's just had a calling.

Yeah.

Yeah.

She has.

She's had a calling all her life.

She has.

And I remember her telling me one
time when she was 18, 19, somewhere in

that, um, when she was really getting
involved with her relation- discovering

her own relationship with God.

Yeah.

Okay.

Yep.

Not through me and Tim, her own.

Right.

She was like, "I really
don't have a testimony.

I've always…"

Yeah.

Famous last words And I
thought- Yeah … oh, I did.

Yeah.

I thought, "Oh, okay."

Well, so as we get older.

Mm-hmm.

Yep.

Um, Savannah married her
high school sweetheart.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

You know?

Um, they were married three years,
and I'm just gonna line this up.

This is all I'm gonna
try to say about this.

Mm-hmm.

Because I wanna see, I want you to see
what- I might fill in on some of it.

I want you to see what God
did in the middle- Mm-hmm.

Okay … of all this.

So, um,

10 years ago on June the 15th, my mom, who
was healthy woman, ran, had more energy

than me, was diagnosed with AML leukemia.

Mm-hmm.

So we got diagnosed June the 15th, which
was our 25th wedding anniversary that day.

Oh, geez.

She died July the 15th.

Oh my gosh.

We got four weeks.

Goodness.

Yeah, four weeks.

Is that, like, normal for that diagnosis?

Apparently she had had it for a while.

She didn't know.

Yeah.

Didn't know.

Yeah.

Um, so we got four weeks.

So she died July the 15th, so
I was really grieving that.

Mm-hmm.

The loss of a parent is- It's incredible

it- You don't realize how impactful
it's going to be You do not.

You do not.

Yeah.

Nope.

And so that September, so we died
in July, September found out she

was pregnant with Ella Grace.

Okay.

February 23rd, my mom's birthday

Chase came home and said he
didn't wanna do this anymore.

Gosh.

So six months in.

What, what do you mean you w-
you don't wanna do this anymore?

Yeah.

Um, so she moved in with us.

Mm-hmm.

We were moving into a new
house we had just remodeled.

So in came pregnant Savannah in one room.

Tim's dad was living with us,
who we did dialysis on every day.

We took care of him.

We did dialysis at home every day.

Seven days a week.

Wow.

And that's a lot of
hours processed, right?

Lot.

Yeah, dialysis is involved.

It's very involved.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I'm not a nurse.

Like, I don't know another word
to- It, it- … encompass it.

In- involved is…

There's so many different aspects of
it, and it's- Well, you gotta make

sure- … tricky … it is tricky.

You've gotta make sure fans aren't
going at the time you take- Right

the port.

I mean, it- Oh my
goodness … it's incredible.

Yeah.

Anyway.

Yeah, 'cause you gotta keep
everything- Sterile … super clean.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Super clean.

So here I am still spiraling for my mom.

Mm-hmm.

Now I'm spiraling for my child- Right
… and they're trying to take care of his

dad and do it to the best of our ability.

Right.

Um, and in the state of
Arkansas, you cannot get a

divorce while you're pregnant.

Right.

So- Really?

I didn't know that.

Yeah, you cannot.

Yep.

So we had to wait.

Mm.

So Ella Grace was born May 30th,
which my- The heavens opened up.

Wow.

I mean- Life changer … the heavens
opened up and this- Just a life changer

glorious child came- Joy of
all joy … into this life.

Yeah, yeah.

She is a very, very good child.

She is very good.

She's sweet.

She is.

I've heard grandkids are a- She's
very kind … a super cool thing.

Yeah.

Oh, they are.

Don't have any yet, but.

Yeah, well.

They are.

It, they are.

Don't rush it.

Oh, no, I'm not.

No.

Yeah.

No, no.

But when it happens- Chloe and Owen can
wait, for sure … life as you knew it

is over- Yeah, yeah … when it happens.

But anyway, and she was
coming home to our house.

Yeah.

And I remember s- That's even
a super plush right there.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And I remember Tim and I coming home,
bringing her and the baby home, and

I looked back in the backseat and I just
saw tears rolling from Savannah, and

she said, "This is not what I planned."

No.

And I said, "No, it's
not, but God has a plan."

Yeah.

Yes.

Mm-hmm.

Okay?

So we're just gonna leave it at that.

Yeah.

And we're gonna trust God for that.

So divorce was set for August the 10th.

Mm.

So she was born May 30th.

We got divorced August the 10th, and
November the 18th we were doing a gender

reveal party for Morgan and Cory Beavers.

Okay.

Mm-hmm.

For Jaxton, the little one.

Yeah.

Um, and we were sitting there,
and I remember Pastor Ronnie

driving up the driveway, and I
thought, "He's at the Hogs game."

I remember him specifically telling
me he was going to Fayetteville-

Yeah … for the Hogs game.

Yeah.

I thought, "What's he doing here?"

So he pulls up, and he, in his own style,
you know, just kinda meanders around.

Smiling.

Doesn't come out with any thing.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

Sliding around.

But you could tell he's
wanting to say something.

Something, he was wanting to say
something, but he got Tim and I alone.

Mm-hmm.

And we were standing in the front
yard, and he said, "I have to come

tell y'all, Chase is missing."

Oof.

We were both like, "What
do you mean he's missing?"

You know, and, and keep in mind
during this, and this is why I wanna

be real, just real matter of fact-
Careful … and careful in this- Yeah

… is because we adore his mom and dad.

Right.

They are very involved
in Ella Grace's life.

Mm-hmm.

And I never wanna do anything,
you know, what happened happened.

Yeah.

Right.

And that's just the way it is.

Right.

Um, so that was Saturday.

Um, he had been in a
duck hunting accident.

Mm-hmm.

Um, the boat had flipped.

Um-

Needless to say, we hunted all night.

Savannah and I just heard my
child crying all night long.

Did y'all both go down there?

Yes.

We did on Sunday.

We woke up early Sunday morning.

And it was so cold.

And the wind, that's what had caused
it, the wind, they had gust, um,

out on the river going up to what?

It was, uh, I think gusts were
up to, like, 75, 65 mile an

hour- Oh my gosh … gusts.

It was, it was…

You know, and I always think
back, a- and I'm gonna kinda

Back up just a hair.

You know, as a dad, whenever a man comes
in and tells your daughter something like,

"I can't do this anymore"- Yeah, yeah

you know, of course immediately,
you know, was not a very nice- Yeah,

yeah, those are fighting words.

They were.

Well- They were literally
fighting words … yeah, it was.

Yeah.

And, and then, and, and, and I knew
then too, it's like if you kill a

relationship with somebody ever and
you're done- Yeah … that's when I

ended my relationship trying- With him

to be a father- Yeah … towards him more.

Not that his dad was in by no
means- Right … not a father.

Right.

But I was done.

You- Yeah … you hurt my child.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

You know?

Mm-hmm.

And so we go on.

It was, uh, this 65 mile an hour
gust, but I had always told him,

'cause I was an avid duck hunter.

Mm-hmm.

I hadn't duck hunted since.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

And it's really not because of
that, but because it's just too

public anymore, too many people.

Mm.

It's not, it's a dangerous sport.

Oh, yeah.

Yeah.

And I love it.

It's always in my heart and, um, but
I just don't go anymore, and that

probably has something to do with
it- Yeah … if I really got to it.

Mm-hmm.

But, uh, so what I'd done was is I'd
always tell him, "Hey brother- If it's

gonna s- if it's windy, you need to go
to the woods Don't go out on the lake.

Don't ever- Don't go on the river
… don't go ever g- go out on big water.

Yeah.

That could be a lake or whatever.

Yeah.

And I was like…

And he, you know, but
the, the hardheadedness.

Yeah.

And, and that's fine.

I was hardheaded when

I was young.

Well, I mean, we all are-
That's right … to a degree.

That's right.

Huh?

Yeah, but to jeopardize yourself.

But we all think it's
not gonna happen to us.

That's right.

You always think it's
not gonna happen to you.

Yeah.

And, and, but it can.

Right.

You know, it can.

It can.

A- a- and it could've happened to me.

I've done dumb stuff.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

I mean, you know.

Yeah.

A lot of dumb stuff.

But, uh, so anyway, you know, and
then Pastor shows up on that thing,

and he, of course, he knows me, so
he's asking, "Where were you at?"

You know, just- Oh, man.

Yeah, yeah.

Yeah, yeah.

And I was like- To try to
lighten the mood a little bit.

Right, right.

Yeah.

W- w- what kind- Because he knows better,
but he also is like- I have to kinda ask.

I am a dad, you know?

You know, yeah.

And I was like, "What
are you talking about?"

And, and this was before Myra knew, and
he was like, "They can't find Chase."

Well, I'm gonna be honest, I,
I was like, "Not my fault."

Tim thought maybe he ran
off and nobody- Right.

You know what I'm saying?

Yeah, I didn't know- You didn't
have a clue- I didn't know- … what

the- … the situation.

Yeah.

Right So my first thing was is, "Listen,
I, I ain't done nothing to him."

Mm-hmm.

Right.

Uh, but it's not my fault.

Yeah.

You know, as far as what he's done.

I can't help it.

Yeah.

I've, uh, I, I, I cut it off- Mm-hmm

when you hurt my daughter.

Right, right.

So not to say I didn't love him.

Yeah.

I love him, and I love him now, you know.

But we were hurt.

But we were hurt.

Well, you have to love
from afar sometimes.

Yeah, that's right.

We were hurt.

That's right.

You know?

Yeah.

And he was gonna be the
dad of my granddaughter.

Mm-hmm.

So I knew I was gonna have to
have some kinda relationship, but

it wasn't gonna be what it was.

Right.

So I was hurt.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And, and I'm fine with it now.

Like Myra said- Yeah, that's fair
… yeah, like Myra said, I love his mama.

She is the sweetest thing.

And his daddy is our neighbor.

Next-door neighbor.

So I, yeah.

Oh, wow.

Yeah.

So I get to see him all the time.

Me and him- Yeah … are friends.

We help each other out.

We all help with Ella Grace.

I mean- And, and- … you know,
it's, it's a good, good relationship.

It really is.

Good.

Um, but he, when he said he's missing, we
got up Sunday morning, because, you know,

you kinda don't know your role anymore.

Yeah.

You know?

Yeah.

You don't know your role anymore.

Yeah.

And so we headed out there to
where- Mm … the, he was last

seen, where the boat flipped.

They had found his dog, and she was alive.

Um- Okay … her, her leg was hurt pretty
bad, and but she was in the boat with him.

And anyway, um, she-

She went out there with that baby.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

And there were search and rescue boats all
over the place, and we decided to leave.

Actually, Savannah looked at us, and it
was getting close to Sunday night church.

Mm-hmm.

She said, "I just feel
like I gotta be in church."

I said, "Okay, we'll go."

So we just- So, so they hadn't
found the body … body yet.

Right.

They had not found him yet.

You know, they were- Right … searching.

We went out there during the search.

Church.

So they had not found the body.

Found him yet.

Yeah.

And, um- Which gives
everybody a little hope.

A little bit of hope, yeah.

You know?

We're thinking, did he make it to
an island somewhere and he's cold?

Right.

Because it dropped down
to below 32 that night.

Yeah, yeah.

There's 150 things going
through your head at one time.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Yep.

And, um, so we got to church, and I
remember distinctly it was 5:50, and his

cousin texts Savannah and said they found
a promising, a promising image on sonar

And she lost it.

Well, at 5:58- Oh, I, I
remember … she, yes.

At 5:58- I was in that room … yep,
she texts back and said, "It's him.

They found him."

And all I can remember was the
scream I heard from my child Same.

Same.

It gives me goosebumps.

Yeah.

I, yeah, I, I mean, it- And just falling
out- … it does … in the floor.

She just fell over.

Yeah.

And I remembered, and it was, you
know, during the worst of the worst

situations how God can speak to you.

Yep.

Because I remember Tim walking
over to her and he said

"Baby, you gotta get up.

You gotta get up."

And at that point, I remember
hearing from God and Him

saying, "That's how I love you.

Get up."

Oh, geez.

Man.

"Get up.

Nothing's too bad that you can't get
up from, and I'm here holding you.

Get up."

Wow.

That's good.

So- Oh, it hurt … it hurt.

Yeah.

Tim carried her out of there.

Um, we got home, and you know,
it was just a whirlwind of stuff.

Mm-hmm.

I can't even describe the
whole whirlwind it was.

Mm-hmm.

Just dealing with it.

Get…

It was rough.

Mm-hmm.

Anyway, the, the, the, the big part
of the story that I wanna get to, I

ha- we had to say that to lead up-
Mm-hmm … to God's faithfulness.

You know, His…

The one thing about God is
His character is faithfulness.

Yes.

Mm-hmm.

It's His character.

It does not change.

Right.

It just doesn't.

And, um-

You know, Tim processes and
handles Savannah one way, and

a m- mom, me as her mom- Mm-hmm

handle it another.

Right.

And Tim is very gentle with her,
always has been, where I'm- Yeah, I

think I spanked her butt, like, once.

Yeah, maybe.

She w- And this is back in my
day, so I'm gonna say this.

This, this is whenever, uh, I went in to
spank her, and it's more like wrestling.

Yeah, because she fought him back.

And then I was like…

Yeah, she fought me back, 'cause
she knew she'd get away with it.

Uh-huh.

So I had to go outside, smoke a
cigarette- … go back in, round two.

I mean, it was terrible.

You know?

Yeah.

I mean, I- And I just watched.

I was just like, "I'm gonna watch
this wrestling match happen."

But anyway.

No help at all.

Yeah.

Um, and one thing that I do
is I fight in the spirit.

Mm-hmm.

That's my thing.

Mm-hmm.

And where Tim handled her with kid gloves
and showed her the love of a father

and the love of a man, which he had
always done, no matter- Mm-hmm … how

bad things were with him He always
loved her and handled her and showed

her the way she should be treated.

Okay.

Okay?

That's good.

So.

You, uh, as a dad excuse me, as a
dad and, uh, with girls- Mm-hmm.

You know, I'm surrounded by women.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

Um, mom, two sisters, uh-
Two nieces … two nieces.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, I mean, so I was raised
about, around a bunch of women.

Mm-hmm.

And but, you know, I can always remember
too, my dad always respected a woman,

always taught me respect, you know?

A- and so raising Savannah, and I'll
do the same with Ella, is, um, you

know, women need to set themselves up.

They, they, they should set themself
a standard- Yes Yeah … in a guy.

Uh, you know, and I've always, and
I, I, I, I'm very proud to say that

I've been with my wife for 37 years.

We've been married 35.

Mm-hmm.

Actually 38 years, isn't it?

Almost.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

So I mean, and it, and it wasn't all easy.

You know?

Definitely- Lord knows it wasn't easy.

Definitely not.

It w- it wasn't easy whatsoever.

Yeah.

And, uh, but you know what?

I, I hung.

He did.

No matter what, we hung.

I shouldn't say I, that's very…

'Cause it, it was a we.

It takes a we.

We made the decision-
We made it … to do it.

Right.

Yeah.

And you have to.

You, absolutely.

So- Marriage is work.

Mm-hmm.

So- I don't care how long-
100% … you've been married.

Yeah.

It's work.

Yep.

So with Savannah going through
all this, and then I knew,

uh, uh, nah, I didn't know.

I couldn't imagine the feelings
that she was having, you know,

'cause I know she still loved Chase.

Mm-hmm.

Right.

I mean, you know- Right … there's
always a hope- Yeah … that

things will work out.

There's hope with their mom and da-
her, his mom and dad too, that, oh,

he's just going through a little stage.

Right.

We have been through that stage.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Me and Myra- Yeah … have been
through that stage, you know?

Yeah.

But when he died- It's gone.

It's gone It's gone.

It's over.

It's gone.

A- and God, y'all.

Mm.

Mm.

I'm telling you.

I, uh, you know what?

Thank God.

Thank God.

He give me the, uh, phew-

We have Kleenex for a reason We do That's
enough of you I ain't crying But- It's

all good You know, I love my daughter.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

She's my only one, and I love her.

Mm-hmm.

A- and to have … I
hadn't dealt with that.

I had dealt with situations where me and
her mom were gonna do the same thing,

but we never went through with anything.

And she was so hurt and so
lost- Yeah … at that time.

And when I … I remember in the
church, I, I don't know what I did.

I don't know what I did.

I can't…

I can remember getting her up, and
I remember, you know, just holding

onto her, uh, telling her I love
her, things were gonna be fine.

Uh, it was just … It,
it, it was miserable.

Yeah.

But yet it was peaceful in a little way.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And we…

So while Tim, I don't, I guess I can
call it nurtured her- Mm-hmm … I,

I went into my secret place, because
I needed guidance on how to deal

with this, because I was mad.

Mm-hmm.

I was mad.

Yeah.

Um, once again, we didn't
really know what our role was.

Um, you know, his parents had us,
not with the family, but in the

front row of the funeral because they
wanted us to intercept anybody that

was gonna come try to talk to them.

So we were having to handle that for them.

It's- It was hard, y'all … that's a,
that's a tricky role- It was … to play.

It was.

It was real, real hard.

But I will say, God stepped
in again right there.

Yeah, He did.

You know, here's the thing.

And we- He gave us strength … w- I had
one lady come up to me and said, you know,

'cause of divorce everybody think they're
always nasty, and most of them are.

Yeah.

Uh, but one lady come up to me
and said, "I hope you're not

gonna keep that kid from them."

And I thought, woman.

Oh.

First of all- What is wrong with people?

Not the time.

Not the ti- Why- Not the
time … also, none of your business.

This is at the funeral,
and none of your business.

So that's none of your business.

That's none- So I- Girl, turn around.

Thank you.

Exactly.

Girl, turn around.

Like mm.

Because that's where my head
space was at the time- Mm-hmm

too, and I did not wanna- Yeah,
I'm glad Myra didn't hear it … he

was trying to keep me calm.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Sanctified.

Well- How did you answer
that, just so everybody knows?

Well, no, you know what?

I didn't.

God did.

Mm.

God did.

I said, and I was really nice about
it, I was like, "What did you say?"

Yeah.

And she goes, "I said, if you, you
know, you better not think about keeping

that b- grandbaby away from them.

They need her right now."

I said, "Ma'am, you are short."

Mm-hmm.

I said, "You're a short lady."

I said, "Do you, why would I take
something that was gonna love my child-

Yeah … wanna my child- Yeah Mm-hmm
… why would I take that away from her?"

Now- If they were bad people, bank
robbers or something- Yeah, yeah.

No … you know, I mean,
criminals, of course- Right

'cause I'd be protecting a child then.

Right.

But, but these are, these
are loving parents that had

just- Yeah … lost their son.

Yeah.

You think that I'm not- Like, lady- My
heart, my heart is so hard- That speaks

more about what your decision-making
would be- Thank you … th- exactly

… and not about ours … and, and,
and, and that's what God put in me.

Yeah.

Well, out of the mouth- What a diva
… the abundance of the heart flows.

Exactly.

Was the first thing I thought.

I thought- So I, I was just-
… you're, you're kinda nasty.

Mm-hmm.

I wasn't mean at all to her,
but I just, I, I said, "You…"

I, and then when I re- when I say
short, I mean, your life is short.

Mm.

I mean- Yeah

you're not thinking outside-
Yeah … the box at all.

Yeah.

Why would you take any love
away from a child, period?

Yeah.

No matter what I feel, no
matter what Savannah feels, no

matter what Myra feels, nobody.

That just wasn't even on our radar-
Yeah … to even think anything like that.

Exactly.

I, I was kinda flabbergasted-
So it was kinda shocking

though, that I was like- Shocking.

Yeah, I was shocked at it.

I was like, "I don't…"

Did it shut her up?

Did she like- Yeah, yeah.

It did.

She- Yeah.

Oh, yeah.

Yeah, it did.

Yeah, yeah.

It, it shut her up.

And, and you could tell-
That makes me feel good.

Yeah, it's pretty good.

Well- It did me too … an- another
thing too is is I, and I did, e-

even on this whole time, you know,
she says, you know, I went into

my, my private, her prayer life.

Mm-hmm.

You know, the whole time, and I do this
today, before I speak, I always w- God-

speak before me.

Now sometimes I don't, uh,
and I think we all fall short.

Oh, yeah.

Uh-huh.

But at that point, that's a critical deal.

You know- Yeah … to me it
was- Mm-hmm … critical.

And I thought, 'cause I know
she's gonna run to them.

Mm-hmm.

Right.

And, and I'm not gonna hurt
these people at all, you know?

Right.

And I, I did.

So I always like to say, "But God."

So but God stepped in,
give me the words to say.

Yeah.

And, you know, and I hope that but God
maybe placed something in her- Good.

Yeah … from my response.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

And I've seen her afterwards, years and
everything, and she, she knows who I am.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

She knows it.

A- and I, I'm, no matter what I am,
sometimes I'm always a godly man.

Mm-hmm.

And she's very friendly, I
will say that, when we see her.

And I think she knows.

She's very friendly.

I don't know if she was caught up…

It was an emotional day.

I get it.

Yeah.

That's it.

Yep.

Emotions were everywhere.

Yeah.

Emotions were everywhere, but this
is where, you know, for me at that

point, all I was looking at, I…

Please ke- don't take me wrong, I
felt for his family, I felt deeply.

Mm-hmm.

But I was worried about my child.

Oh, yeah.

Right.

Yeah.

She was my main concern.

Yeah.

Her and that baby at this point.

And so I just started praying.

And one thing about me is we have a
lot of acreage, and I love to mow.

A lot of pe- I love to get on
there, I put my headphones on,

put my praise and worship on.

I love it.

Yeah.

I mean, there's times he's come out, and
he's like, "The neighbors are gonna…"

I mean, I, I'm out there praying.

I am yelling, you know?

Anyway, so-

immediately because my biggest thing was

I did not want my grandbaby to
grow up in a fatherless home.

Yeah.

Yeah.

It's very important to me.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Um, my dad was not in my home.

Now, we went … I saw my dad, nothing
like that, but he wasn't in my home.

Right.

Mm-hmm.

Um, and I know how much of
a difference that makes.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

My dad was a great man, and
I have a wonderful stepmom.

They were married 41 years before my dad
passed away, and I mean, wonderful people.

Godly, wonderful, godly people.

Mm-hmm.

Um, but I started praying.

Mm-hmm.

And I mean, I was praying specifics.

Yeah.

"God," because at the time my
daughter didn't know what she

wanted or what she needed.

Oh, yeah.

Right.

Let's just be honest.

She was grieving.

She didn't.

She was grieving.

She was raising a child
on her own completely.

Yeah.

On her own.

Living with mom and dad.

Mm-hmm.

Living with mom and dad, going,
not to mention, halfway through

tech getting her teaching degree.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

Yeah.

A lot was going on.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

So I just stepped in, and I just
started praying, "God, I want

this specific for this man."

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

"This is specifics.

He's got to be a godly man.

He's got to have a, he's got
to have a relationship with

you, and one that shows."

Yeah.

Yeah.

"I want to see the fruit."

Yeah.

Yeah.

Don't wanna just hear about it.

Anybody can talk a good game.

Yep.

For me, that's just my, that's who I am.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

You can tell me all you wanna
tell me, but you better show me.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Well, I mean, I'll see it anyway.

I'm gonna see it.

Yeah.

So.

And I'm gonna know.

Yeah.

Well, and Dad, who was a,
uh, a partier, uh- Mm-hmm.

Yeah … you know, back in
high school, different thing.

Mm-hmm.

I know the games.

Yeah.

Yeah.

You know?

I, and, and- Yeah … and she dated
after that, you know, and everything.

So m- what was funny is me
and Myra were like, "Nope."

No.

We looked at it- And you know me as
mom, where Tim just kinda sits back and

says, "She'll work it out," you know?

I didn't say much, and I was real
nice with them and everything.

Of course they'd loosen up, you
know, and I'd been like, "Mm-hmm."

But Mom- Yeah … Mom was telling
her- This ain't working … "You

better get yourself together."

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

"Get yourself in check,
Savannah," you know?

Yeah.

And she was like, "Mom," and I'm like,
"Get, get yourself in check," you know?

Yeah.

Um…

But let's tell her of what,
uh, Chase left her, though.

'Cause that really helped her get,
kinda separate from Mom and Dad, and

really- I will say this … kinda
started- And this was God.

Yes, it was.

And this is how I knew
Chase still listened to God.

Okay.

Um, they got divorced.

Mm-hmm.

He was working at Tyson.

Um, so all the benefits
for Savannah had stopped.

Like, she was his You know, the
beneficiary of any life insurance

policy, anything like that.

Yeah.

Well, that all- Yeah … quit
with the divorce

Two weeks before he passed away, he
walked back into that office and said, "I

want all my benefits to go to Savannah."

Wow.

Wow.

Yep.

Any benefit I have- So- … to
go to Savannah because she is

the mother of my child, and she
takes care of my child well.

Well, so his life insurance policy from
Tyson went to Savannah, and not only that,

it doubled because it was an accident.

Wow.

Wow.

Yep.

What a blessing.

So God- It was a blessing
God is in the details, man.

He is.

God is in the details.

He is.

And you know she has a car payment.

Mm-hmm.

She paid that car off.

She paid her car off, car off.

She got, she got them a little house,
a little mobile home- She got- … they

set up on the land beside … yep, we
got the, uh, you know, the septic and

the water- Water and all that done

and the electric all run to that.

Mm-hmm.

We moved the…

And so they got to move out,
and- And have their own space.

Yeah.

Right.

And I get that.

Right.

That's important.

I know that was important to her.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

But still…

Close enough to be community
and, and have support and- Have

dinner every night … yep.

I can have dinner for her
while she's going to school.

You know, it was just- Mm-hmm And
of course, you know, the grandbaby.

That's right.

Yeah.

Yeah.

That's, that's what was important.

I, I still, I still picture her
walking over there to our house.

Yeah, a little diaper, and she'd
wear little heels and click her…

Oh, I would have loved- Oh, it was great.

It was great … oh, yeah.

Yeah.

It was great.

But in that time, I was praying specifics.

"God, he needs to love you
before he loves anybody else."

Mm-hmm.

Yep.

Mm-hmm.

"And God, he's gonna have to
fall in love with my grandbaby."

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

To love Savannah the way
she needs to be loved.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Just, I'm talking about,
I got- Specific … I did.

Yeah.

Yeah, she got really- I did … I
was like- I would write it

down, put it in my Bible.

Mm-hmm.

And I'd get on that mower with my
headphones on, and I'm talking about

for three hours, me and God just
talking about that specifically.

Yeah.

Because I knew what my child needed.

She didn't wanna be alone.

Yeah.

But she wasn't gonna welcome
just anyone in either.

Mm-hmm.

Right.

Now, she made some
horrible dating choices.

Yeah.

But- Don't we all?

I mean, let's get real.

Did she listen, but did she listen to you?

Like, did she…

She did, and she had to learn a couple
because I- She learned … you know, I

would be like, "This what's gonna happen.

I'm just telling you now."

And she'd be like, "Mom," you know.

But, and it happens.

Yeah.

We, we had one that, uh, invited her up to
the Chuckwagon Races, and I knew the kid.

Mm-hmm.

And I…

Or young man.

Yeah.

Uh.

Then he stood her up.

Then he stood her up- After she'd
driven all the way … at the gate.

Drove my truck all the way up there.

Woo.

And she, you know, she calls
me again crying, feelings hurt.

Y'all.

So, yeah.

Y'all.

Yeah.

You better have said something.

Y'all.

Well, we won't talk about that.

Okay, okay.

So, so- After.

After the podcast.

After the podcast- Yes, after … is over.

Yeah.

But- Ooh, that might be a nice
new little segment that we do.

Yeah, after, after- Hey, after
the podcast … the podcast.

Yeah.

Patreon.

That would be a good one.

But- We'll set up a Patreon
for after the podcast.

There you go.

There you go.

So she comes home And she's upset.

She had calmed down.

Yeah.

She had calmed down, but
still feelings were hurt.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

I called it out.

Yeah.

I was like, "Okay, so this is what he is."

Mm-hmm.

"This is what they, they do.

This is what this other one was.

This is what this is.

This is how it's gonna work."

Mm-hmm.

And, and I'm not talking
about the positives of them.

Yeah.

Right.

I'm telling her the negatives.

And- Right … and, and then I would call
stuff, I said, "So he said this to you.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

He said this to you too, didn't he?

Mm-hmm."

Mm.

I said, "He said that?

Mm-hmm."

Mm-hmm.

That's all she would do.

Daddy was right.

Yeah.

And you know what, though?

I think that point in her life
where she realized, "Man, my

daddy does love me and knows."

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

A- and it make, you know, it- And it's
not about no one is good enough, it's

about that person isn't good enough.

No, you're exactly right.

That's it.

Yeah.

It, it wasn't, I d- I wasn't judging
that, those- Exactly … those

young men at that at all.

He's not the one for you.

Well, and I will say- Exactly … and
she was g- you know, I love social

media for what it is, but some
of it, and she was just getting

bombarded- Well, she, she was lonely

with, with messages.

Yeah.

She was lonely.

And it- Scared, and getting
bombarded with messages … and it

was just one thing after another.

But I will say this, about two, two and
a half years in of going through this

up and down, and just her crying out to
God, too, and us crying out to God, and

just knowing she's lonely, it was never
Savannah's intention to get the divorce.

She did not want the divorce.

She, she loved being
married and just, you know.

Yeah.

Anyway.

Susie Homemaker.

Yeah.

She wa- she's always been that way.

Her house was real neat.

Yeah.

Her, she had everything situated.

She's just that way.

She cooked.

Yeah.

Still does.

And, and so I, I really
started ramping up.

And, you know, and of course I
have certain people in my- Mm-hmm

in my…

We know them … inner circle.

Yeah, we know some of them.

That I'm like- Yeah.

Yeah, that's right.

Y'all know them.

That's right.

Mm-hmm.

And I'm like, "Girl, you got…

You know," I'll just say, you
know, me and Jonica, we are one.

Yes.

Yeah.

We're one.

What I know, Jonica knows.

What she knows, I know.

And, you know, yeah.

So anyway.

So sh- you know, and she's one of those
I can vent to and I can just say, "Girl."

Yeah.

"Mm-hmm.

You need to, you need to
talk me off this ledge."

Let's, let's talk about this.

Which I don't know how
good that goes sometimes.

No, because we're both on
the ledge most of the time.

But anyway.

Th- there's gonna be a corner in heaven.

That me and he- That- … me and her
will probably be in the corner with the

God text and sample Bible … we'll,
we'll go up there, y'all, and we'll look

over at the corner and go, "Hey, Jonica.

Hey, Myra."

And he's probably gonna be like,
"Y'all come on in, but you're in

this corner for just a little while."

You got, you got a
little bit of a timeout.

That's it.

You got, you're in timeout.

We're in timeout.

You're in timeout.

Then you come in, but you're in timeout.

We're in timeout.

But, um-

So Savannah finally came to the point
also of, I specifically remember her

saying one night, because she told
me about it, that it was just she had

praise and worship on and was just- Yeah

and she said, "God, I'm letting it go."

Mm-hmm.

"I am so tired.

This has been almost three years of
fighting and just getting myself in

order, getting graduated, getting-" Yeah.

Yeah … "my child, get- I- If I've
gotta be by myself, then so be it."

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

Give me that satisfaction.

Boom.

Boom.

And here comes this orange truck.

She honestly talked to him for f- just
a little while messaging on Facebook.

Mm-hmm.

Back and forth.

You know, and if anybody
knows Logan Killer, he don't

get in a hurry about nothing.

Nothing.

Yeah.

That, that right there is- That
is one specific thing I prayed

for, is that somebody come in
that's lower than her frequency.

You know?

Yeah.

'Cause she can be up h- she's my child.

Mm-hmm.

She's gonna get up here, too.

He hit the, he hit the mark.

She's, she- She's not, she's
not nearly as mouthy as I am,

until you push her to a point.

You know, I'll just mouth from the get-go.

I go, I've always told Tim that
if something happens to me, know I

ran my mouth until the bitter end.

I, I did it.

I'm g- I'm … If I'm gonna do
anything, I'm gonna run this mouth.

Yeah.

Anyway, um- I might pass out in the Holy,
Holy Ghost right here- Yeah, whatever

… after hearing that, 'cause I know.

Anyway.

Yeah.

Anyway.

Um, but then along comes Logan

And when she brought him to the
house the first day, of course she

sent Ella away to Chase's- Mm-hmm

mom.

Yeah.

Because she did- Right.

Yeah, you wanna protect that … she was
very careful- Yeah … of that always.

Um

Logan comes in and we meet him
because of course she's on our land

and we're out- Yeah … driving
around on the side by side.

And we talked to him for five,
10 minutes and then, 'cause she

had cooked dinner for him- Mm-hmm

and kinda let it go.

But when we drove off, me and
Tim both looked at each other

and Tim was like, "That's him."

I said, "I know it is."

I know it is.

Yeah.

She- I know it is … she did too.

I look, we kinda looked at each other and
smiled real big- Mm-hmm … too, you know.

Like, and I said, "That's him."

That's him.

And she goes, "I know."

I know.

I know.

Did Savannah know?

Here's what…

So it progresses for a few weeks.

Mm-hmm

And she gets scared.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

So she comes to me and she's
like, "I, I, I just, I don't,

I don't think I can do this."

And I said, "Well, I'll
tell you one thing."

Yeah.

You know, this was- She got all, she
got all, yeah, she got all over it.

I said, "I'll tell you one thing."

I said, "If you don't pursue a
relationship with this boy," I

said, "You can stay at your house."

I said, "Ella Grace can walk over here."

I said, "Because I'm
telling you, God sent him.

I know it."

Yeah.

And, um- And, and we did,
and I was the same way.

I was like, I did- Tim- I
was like, "You're a fool"

really got upset.

Tim was like, "You're,
you're being a fool."

I said, "You're being a fool.

You remember what we
talked about earlier?"

Wow.

You know, I said, "This boy
is what, who he says he is."

And that's, and another thing
too, that's what a godly man does.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

You can talk to a godly man
and know exactly who they are.

Mm-hmm.

Yes.

Yes.

And he's got an old soul.

He does.

So I knew- And he's, he's quiet.

He ain't got a lot to say, you know.

He pipes up- Until you get him talking.

He pipes up when he needs to pipe up.

But this is what got me.

So I said, "I tell you what," I
said, "You call him and tell him."

I said, "You owe it to him
to call him and tell him."

I said, "And you're gonna
woman up and do it."

I said, "You wanna play big girl?

This is how it works."

Boy, she was mad at me.

I was mad at her.

She had talked to Pastor Ronnie.

Pastor was like, "I'm not
counseling you anymore if you

don't pursue this relationship."

He was mad.

Wow.

If you get Big Ron mad, you know.

Anyway, so we were all just like, "Ah."

But what did it was she called him.

Mm-hmm.

And she said, "I just don't,
I don't think I can do this.

I'm not ready," this, that, and the other.

And it wasn't 'cause she
didn't, now we need to say that.

It wasn't 'cause she didn't like
Logan or- Yeah, no, nothing.

She was scared.

She was scared.

Yeah.

She was…

That's 100% That, that
he was gonna leave her.

Right.

That, that was more what it was.

Mm-hmm.

He was scared.

Because we have some trauma here.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

Of leaving.

Yeah.

We have some trauma here that, why am
I not good enough- Exactly … for,

to make you stay, so she got scared.

'Cause the first thing she said
whenever she got done on the first

date was, "Man, he is such a nice guy."

Yeah.

"He is, Dad.

He's, like, a really good guy."

I like, I didn't say this, but I
was like, "Yeah, I know already."

Yeah.

But, you know, I, I, I but-
But anyway, so she called him.

She said, "I don't think
I can, I can do this."

Yeah.

And his first words were,
"You will give me a chance."

Ugh, I love it.

Whoa, Logan.

Right, the man.

I know.

Standing up right there.

I know, so- Real … so I knew then too.

Real, yeah.

I was like, "Yep."

Yep.

That's my boy right there.

Uh-huh.

That's my boy.

"You will give me a chance."

And come to find out that night,
um- He knew … I don't, I

don't think he'll mi- He knew.

He did.

I don't think he'll mind me telling this.

Um-

He went into intercession for her.

Oh.

Uh-huh.

I mean, all night.

I mean, that's what you want
from your man- That's what

you want … is a praying man.

Thank you.

That's what you want.

Yeah.

Somebody's gonna fight for you.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

God done give him the answer.

And that's just what she needed.

Yeah.

She just needed somebody to fight for her.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And, um, so he called her the next
day and he said, "I'm coming over."

And I was like, "You go on, Logan."

You know me, I like- It's like
a Saturday morning, wasn't it?

Yeah.

I was like, "You go on."

'Cause we were home, too.

Yeah.

I was excited.

I was like, "I, I wanna
see this play out."

This play out.

Yeah, we're gonna watch this.

It's a popcorn.

Exactly.

You know, looking out the window-
Yep … watching over there.

Yeah, you know, I- I was like,
"Do I need to take Ella Grace?"

Yeah, you know me and mine
were looking out the front.

You know.

I was like, "Do I need to take Ella Grace?

What do we need to do here?"

But anyway, um, and the rest is history.

Let's see.

They started…

Think they went on their first date the
1st of June, somewhere around there.

Um, and what this is funny too, is, um, he
had went to Branson, um, his grandparents

own a cabin up there, and we…

Listen, we love some Nan and Pop.

Yeah.

They're our people.

They are our people.

His nan and pop.

And, um, he had went up there, but his
plans were when he was coming back,

he was gonna turn off his location,
and Nan and I were gonna meet him

at Leanne's to pick out the ring.

Oh, wow.

Oh.

Well, so he came back a day early,
and like I said, his location

was off 'cause he didn't want
her seeing where- Yeah, yeah

he was at.

Yeah.

So she calls me and she
says, "His location's off and

he's nowhere to be found."

And I was like, "Oh, he'll be all right.

He'll be okay.

He's fine.

You know, he'll be-" Yeah.

Of course, it kinda scared her.

Yeah.

You know what I mean?

Yeah.

It kinda scared her.

So we went and we picked out
the ring, and, uh, then he

was gonna head to the house.

Now keep in mind, this was a
day earlier than what she was

thought she was coming back.

Yeah.

Well, so when he pulls up to her house,
she doesn't see him because she is on

the ottoman of her chair with her hair
hung down, her head hung down like…

It's happening again.

It's happening.

Exactly.

And so it shocked him- shocked
her when he knocked on the door,

and she was excited, you know.

And so he had set up…

He said, "I wanna take you
out tomorrow night to eat.

We're gonna go to Casper's in Clarksville,
just have a night out," blah, blah, blah.

Mm-hmm.

You know?

And so he did surprise her.

He did get a good surprise on with her.

Mm-hmm.

Good.

And that was in July, and
December the 12th we were married.

Hmm.

December 12th?

That's my anniversary.

Okay.

Freezing cold.

Well, we were in Vegas, so it was- Yeah.

There you go … it wasn't
cold . It was freezing cold.

There you go.

I mean, it was freezing cold that day.

But anyway- Big Ron shows up with one of
those heated vests on … heated vest on.

He's all happy.

Of course.

And I, I looked at him, 'cause
we were doing it outside and

then having the reception in.

I looked at him, I said, "You
make this short and sweet."

"You get it short and
sweet and get it done."

He was like, "I got you."

So, um-

You know, and this te-
but I do wanna say this

The only time I saw Logan cry at
the wedding was, um, beforehand

Ella Grace came running out to him.

Aw.

And he picked her up and, and I thought…

Yeah, and he had gotten her a bracelet
when he got his mo- her mama a ring.

Yep, he had gotten her- That's
sweet … got a bracelet from Leanne.

You know, made sure she was included-
Mm-hmm … in every single thing.

Um, and- Oh, he's a heck of a
dad … he, y'all- He, he is.

Exactly what you prayed for.

Oh my God.

I- It, it, it's more.

It's…

Yeah, it is more.

Is it?

Because that's the way God does it.

Isn't it funny what God can do when
we, when we let go of stuff- Thank you

and finally say, "No, you
can actually have it."

Like, 'cause- You can have it … we say
so many times- Because you're gonna do so

much better than what I can do … right.

But we say so many times, like,
"God, I'm just giving it to you."

Yeah.

"But I'ma keep this little bit."

That's right.

Like, I'm gonna keep the control- Yeah.

Let me hang on to this … to this part,
and then, like, you can just advise me.

That's right.

And then whatever.

That's right.

But when you actually hand it over-
And so I think- God, man … I can't

do any more than what- I think Big
Ron counseled us- Yeah … through

that a little bit, me and her- Yeah.

Mm-hmm … on how to handle that
with Logan and s- El- or Savannah,

and even Ella, as far as that goes.

Yeah.

So he kinda, you know, he helped,
he helped us out, like lettin',

lettin' God take care of it.

And boy, I will tell you,
whenever you do- Yeah.

Yeah … man, it's so much better.

I always feel like that.

It's so much better than
what we can even imagine.

Mm-hmm.

It is.

It absolutely is.

And, and in going back to the how I
felt it was so important to have a

dad in the house, but this tells you.

So right after they, they went on their
honeymoon, Ella Grace stayed with us.

Chase's parents, you know, back
and forth and, and, and Chase's

family was at the wedding.

Oh, yeah.

Aw, nice.

They- Oh, yeah, yes.

They adore Logan.

Yeah, they love Logan.

I mean, they adore Logan.

That's great.

Yeah, he is.

Once again, if, why take somebody
that's gonna love your grandchild away?

Right.

Yeah, yeah.

I mean, so, so all Ella knows
is one big happy family.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I mean, that's all she knows.

Yeah.

You know?

That's all she's ever known.

That's right.

Yeah.

And, um, but what was so funny, about
a week after, now she's three, y'all.

She's three, and Savannah's helping
her clean up her room, and she looks

at her mom and she says, "Mama, you
remember when we didn't have a daddy?"

Mm.

And Savannah goes, "Yeah, I remember."

She goes, "Well, we've got one now."

Ugh.

So don't tell me the man's not important.

Yeah.

Yeah.

As little as she was, she
knew something was missing.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

She knew something was missing.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And, um, but once again,
it's God's restoration.

He can restore so much better than- Yeah

what, like Tim said, what
we can think or imagine.

It was just so much more, and I'm…

There's not a day that goes by
that I am not thankful for Logan.

I tell you, I- Yeah I love him.

That is, he is my child.

Mm-hmm.

You know what I'm saying?

Mm-hmm.

Yeah, we'd probably kick Savannah
out- I would … before Logan.

I would be like, "You
know, w- you've got to go.

Logan can stay- Yeah … but
you have to go."

Yeah, we've told her that.

Yeah, she- I mean- … she knows this
She knows it … Chloe, Chloe says

the same thing to me about Brady.

Like, she's like- Right … I mean,
they're not even engaged or anything

yet, but she's always like, "You would,
you, you side with Brady constantly."

And I'm like- That-

"Brady's not wrong.

You are."

That's right.

That's right.

E- exactly.

Case- Yeah … case in point right there.

Yep.

Yeah.

But, um, and just to watch, I
guess they've been married, what?

Six years in December?

Yeah, six years now in December.

And-

She's just happy.

I mean, you can really tell.

You can.

And for me, that's all I wanted.

Mm-hmm.

And at the time in the middle
of that I was thinking, "Will

my child ever be happy again?"

Yeah.

Because there were nights that I'd walk
down the hall, you know, after he passed

away, and let's, let's play it real.

The first year of Ella Grace's
life the child did not sleep.

I, I mean, she didn't sleep.

Savannah was- Now what is it they cuddle?

Is it cu- The swaddle.

Swaddle?

We would double swaddle it.

We'd double sw- It, she'd work out of
it … 'cause she was a wiggle worm.

Oh my Lord.

She was.

Oh, yeah.

Yeah.

And, and I would walk past her
bedroom at night because at the time

Ella Grace was in the room with her
because we had Tim's dad over here.

Yeah.

Just to hear your child
rocking her child and crying.

Yeah.

I tell you, it- Rip your heart out … it,
it was because there was nothing I could

say, and there was nothing I could do.

Yeah.

I had to let God work it out.

That's hard.

Yeah.

And as His character, He always does.

Mm-hmm.

Yep.

Because His character doesn't change.

Yeah.

It is who He is.

Mm-hmm.

And I think when you get that
knowledge, because when you've walked

through something so horrific and
seen the character of God- Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm

There's, there's nobody on this earth
that could tell me any different.

Exactly.

Because I, I've seen him work.

Because for me, I can, I can
tell you about God all day long.

I can…

But it, God for me is an experience.

Yeah.

When you experience God in His
goodness and His faithfulness,

I, you can't tell me nothing.

Yep.

There's not, there's not
one thing you can tell me.

No.

You can't tell me that didn't happen.

You can't tell me that,
because I experienced it.

Yeah.

I think too, though, a lot of people
need to, uh, realize to experience

God, once again, like we were talking
about, you've gotta let Him do it.

Yeah.

Yeah.

You know, you can't hold
onto that little thing.

Mm-mm.

You know?

And you want to.

Yeah.

And you want to, but if
you can really just…

And I think that's what me and
Myra both did, was, 'cause I,

I w- I was at a loss as a dad.

Mm.

Yeah.

You know, I, I, I mean, I
can protect you to a point.

Yeah.

And you know, and I can
always remember this.

When she was first born, we
brought her home, we lived on

Chiquola Mountain in Yell County.

Uh, I did, I prayed.

And I wasn't, I don't even know, I,
I feel like I was saved, you know?

But I didn't have r- that
relationship that I finally-

Yeah … figured out at 39.

But, uh, I did, I prayed.

I was like, "God, I know I
can be her daddy, but you

might have to be her Father."

And I ne-, you know, when she got
sick, I, I, I'd always remember that.

I'd be like, you know, as a kid you worry.

Mm-hmm.

A- and I'd always remember that this
is where I need you to be the father.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I can be a dad.

I can show her the love.

I can hold her while she's sick.

I can give her kisses on her fat cheeks.

I can do everything that my, a dad
can do, but I've gotta allow…

I had to allow him to be the father.

Yeah.

And, and I set that as
a standard whenever…

It was the day she was
born, 'cause she was sick.

Mm-hmm.

Savannah was s- sick.

She was, uh- Well, she had ingested
a lot of my amniotic fluid.

Mm-hmm.

She, she didn't wanna come.

She liked where she was at.

Yeah, I don't blame her.

Yeah.

Uh, right.

Yeah.

And so for 12 hours we
couldn't even hold her.

They were trying to get-
Oh … her lungs cleared up, so

it was- Yeah … it was a lot.

It was traumatic.

Yeah.

If you don't quit shoving
that mic in my face.

Anyway.

I mean, she's- That's staying in.

Well, I have to talk.

Anyway.

Yeah.

That head, that head has to move.

That's right.

Yeah.

So.

I don't know how people
make it without God.

I, I do not know because- I
don't know … when I look

back, it's- I hate it for them.

Yeah, I do too.

Yeah.

I hate it for them to think that God
i- God isn't there, and God isn't

answering prayers, and it- I mean, the
world is horrible with, with having God.

That's right.

And, but- Right … if you
d- if I didn't have God…

Uh-uh.

It's so much harder.

But when you go through the worst- So
much … moments in your life, I can't

fathom him not being there with me.

Because, like, I'm gonna tell you,
when my mom passed away, that was…

Y'all, when I tell you my mind was…

It was so bad, but I can remember it was
just me and Tim in the room with her.

And I held her hand.

And when I tell you I
prayed her into glory

I did.

I'm talking about nurses were coming in,
like closing the door back- … because

they didn't know what to think.

I mean- Yeah.

Yeah, and we both- I
was speaking in tongues.

I mean, I'm telling you, I- Yeah,
we both did … I handed her off-

And I wanted to make sure- Yeah

beforehand, a week before that, I was
in there, and God just come over me.

You know how he does, he just-
And I have it all on video.

Yeah.

Yeah.

It's- Of them praying and just- Oh.

I d- I was just calling it out.

And I, and I asked her
upfront, I was like…

'Cause sh- big- My mom- Big
G- My mom had a rough life.

Yeah.

Glenda was wild.

I, I…

She was.

And- My mom was married nine times.

Yeah.

Oh.

Yeah.

Wow.

We had to go to Mississippi if
we were gonna get married again.

Y'all, a- anyway.

So.

Listen.

I'm serious.

Listen, that's just eternal
optimism right there.

It was.

It was.

Yeah, yeah.

It was.

She never lost hope.

And it was coming.

And it was coming.

She never lost hope.

And you know, I can look back on it now,
because she would laugh about it too.

It's just- Yeah, we made fun
of- … it was my mom, and my mom

suffered a ton of childhood trauma.

Oh.

Yeah.

And it just manifested
without getting help.

Yeah.

It's just a lot.

Mm-hmm.

But I can see that
through the eyes of God.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

I…

That wasn't flesh I was
wrestling with for my mom.

Mm-mm.

You know?

Um, and I was always the mom to my mom.

She was just that way.

Always.

You know?

And, um, but God healed so much in
that month of her in the hospital.

Oh, that's so good.

Yeah.

And once again, you can't
take that experience from me.

Mm-mm.

Nope.

You can't, you can't tell me nothing.

Mm-mm.

So there ain't nothing, uh, moral of
the story, in our lives, there's nothing

like a mother and daughter relationship.

There's not.

Mm-mm.

You know?

Ooh, she can make me madder.

She can make me almost as mad as he can.

Speak the truth.

No.

Yeah, I, I can make her
madder than anybody.

He can.

So.

I mean, hands down, he wins that.

But boy, she runs a tight second.

Yeah.

Ooh, she runs a tight second.

I, I c- So did you get to make
sure she was- Yes … right?

So I just felt this anointment-
Yeah … of God just come on me.

You know, when you get
the kinda heat going.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

You know, you're getting ready.

Then I just started- You know,
I, I felt like Rocky Balboa.

Again, this is why we need the video.

You know what I'm saying?

Yeah.

Yeah.

I was like, "Yeah, come on with it."

And I was like, "Glenda."

"You know who Jesus Christ is?"

"Yes."

And she was sick.

Oh, she was so sick.

Oh, she was so sick.

And I was like, "You know he died for you.

You know he died for all your sins."

And I said, "You know deep down that,
uh, he would do anything for you.

And most of all, he even gave his
life for you right now, you know?"

And I said, and I was upfront,
I said, "You know you fixing

to get to see him, right?"

"Oh, yes, I do.

I do."

And I said, "Well, good, 'cause I'm
fixing to pray you on into that.

And, and I, I…

It makes me, and you know what?

It makes your daughter so happy
that you know his relationship with

you, and he forgives you right now.

He forgives you for
everything you've done.

And I just know that you're
gonna finish out this, this,

this trip in life right now.

You're gonna finish it
out glorifying him."

And man, her hands raised.

She ain't raising her hands.

Mm.

You know?

Mm-hmm.

Uh, she raised her hands up, and
I, I, I, I can't even remember,

'cause you know when, but God again.

Yeah.

Yeah.

But God took over then, and
I mean, I just remember I was

giving, I was giving some prayer.

Mm-hmm.

You know?

And I remember her just,
like, accepting it.

That, that purity of just accepting
him to walk her on out of this life.

Wow.

But I, but I can tell you this too

You know, as, as the devil
loves to play with you.

Oh, yeah.

Uh-huh.

You know, I'm sitting af- after they've
prayed and everything, and he goes

home, and I can remember thinking,
"Oh God, please let that be real.

Please let that be real."

Isn't that the truth?

Please let that be real.

Now hold up, was she talking about
me or was she talking about him?

I was talking about my mama.

Oh, okay.

But, uh, maybe you too.

But just- But no, anyways.

Um, I remember then I started
praying, "God, show me."

Yep.

"God, show me."

And I went…

My dad and my stepmom live in
Little Rock, and she was at

UAMS, so I went home that night.

I went to my dad's to rest because I-
Mm-hmm … had to rest to come back.

Mm-hmm.

So I came back the next morning.

I said, "Mama," I said,
"How was your night?"

She said, "Well, it was odd."

I said, "Oh, do tell."

Right.

Mm-hmm.

"What do you mean odd?"

She said, "Well, it was like
a, a dream," she said, "but

it was almost like a vision."

Mm-hmm.

"Like a dream."

She said, "And I was standing
in this long hallway."

She said, "And there were
multiple doors on each side."

She said, "And I was, I was scared to
go down that hallway because I knew

there were things behind that door."

She said, "But then I looked over and
Jesus was standing right beside me," she

said, "and He told me, 'Open the doors.

It's gonna be okay.'"

She said, "And behind those
doors were things that had

hurt me and people I had hurt."

Oh, geez.

She said, "But by the time I closed
every door, there was just a peace."

And I thought, "You good."

Yep.

Yeah.

You're good.

Yep.

So I was for real on my end.

I just let y'all know that I was for real.

Yeah.

But she was good.

And when I tell you, five minutes
before she died, I was laid up in the

hospital be- with her, and I looked…

She opened her eyes and she said,
"You know I love you, right?"

Hmm.

I said, "Absolutely."

I said, "And you know I love you?"

She said, "Absolutely."

And I mean, within five minutes, and I, I
saw the breathing start getting labored.

Yeah.

When I tell you the Holy
Spirit just took over.

That whole room.

Because I felt a peace
because I knew she was good.

Yeah.

And that's all that mattered to me.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Because if she was good,
I'm seeing her again- Yeah.

Yep … and I'm gonna
spend eternity with her.

Yeah.

Yep.

And that, that compared to this little
life- Oh, yeah Yep … it's nothing.

Nothing.

Yeah.

So I just, I just walked her on in.

Yep.

Yeah.

But once again, don't you
tell me nothing about God.

You can't tell me nothing because I've
experienced so much of His goodness- Yeah

… that may not look good to other people.

Like, "Dad, how can you be okay?

You lost your mo-" I'm good.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

That's the peace that He gives, and that's
the peace that He gave through Savannah's

whole situation, of knowing He was- That's
the peace He gives us through- Every thing

every situation.

That's right.

And from, from the time me and her, me
and Myra, become dedicated, I was 39 years

old, it was in September, and- Dedicated
… we become dedicated, and i- it was the

man, me, that brought it in, you know.

He was the leader in it.

I was the leader.

I had…

He had to break me down to get
me to take that leadership role.

But once I broke that horrible
chain that had me held down.

Mm-hmm.

And I took my leadership
role every single situation.

My dad's death, a business situation-
Yeah, did I mention Tim's dad

passed away three weeks after Chase?

Oh my goodness.

Yeah, yeah.

So we had all that- Yeah, so I
mean, it was just- It was crazy.

Chase- But- Yeah … once again- It was
bad … it, my, my daddy went out smiling.

Big Ron done got ahold of him too.

Yeah, it was great.

So, but- It was great … it was.

It was really- It was great … a good

death He was peaceful and it was good.

It was good.

But, you know, we just,
every situation, I…

And you know they still
come at us every day, y'all.

Mm.

Yeah.

Y'all know that.

Mm-hmm.

A- and, but every situation, I
mean, it's like bam, it's done.

Yeah.

Yeah.

You know, we just, you just
make it through somehow.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Does it hurt?

Yeah, kills you.

Yeah.

I'm not gonna make it.

And but then there's that little sign of
that little bit of hope is, you know what?

I'm gonna make it.

But we're overcomers- Mm-hmm … by
the blood- Yeah … of the lamb

and the word of our testimony.

Yep.

And I'm gonna tell you, our church is
like the, it's a backbone for that.

Yeah, it is.

Yeah.

Yeah.

It's so hardcore.

I mean, our relationship, you know-
Mm-hmm … sitting across the ta-

our relationship, uh- You're just
family … Pastor Chris is rela- You're

just family … you're just family.

Mm-hmm.

Family.

You know?

And it's, uh- The Millers, the-
Yeah, everybody … Greg and Jonica.

Uh, it's, it's- You know.

We've just been here.

I think Tim and I now
have been members now.

We did stop going for that
while we acted stupid.

But, um, um, 28 years now-
Wow … we've been at RFA.

Yeah.

And I love my people.

Don't mess with my people.

Mm-hmm.

Don't mess with my people.

No, I'll take you, I'll take
you down over my church.

Down.

Don't mess with my people.

I'll take you down over my church.

Yeah, and um, it, the one thing
I think that what I stepped into,

because I had come, of course, from a
mom that had been married nine times.

You can imagine trauma.

Oh, yeah.

Another chapter, another verse.

Yeah.

But I came to the fact early on that
I was a generational curse breaker.

Good.

Yeah.

That you weren't gonna have me,
and you weren't gonna have mine.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

And you're not gonna have the next
generation- And I saw him- … or the

next … trying to do that with divorce.

See- Yep … that's where
my mom went to the first.

We ain't having Glenda up in
here, as much as I love Mama.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

We, we're not having this.

Mm-hmm.

Yep.

This will not happen.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

And I just had to, you know…

I bare my teeth.

Mm-hmm.

I do, because that's just who I am.

She's got some grit.

I do.

Listen.

I do.

I'm a big believer that God,
He designed us this way.

Thank you.

And so clearly there is a
purpose for a defender, for a

protector, and for a challenger,
because let's face it- Absolutely

we are challengers.

Absolutely.

And there's a time and a place.

Is it always necessary?

No.

But there is a moment for it.

Absolutely.

And it's important to let those
people handle the business when

it's time to handle the business.

Thank you.

Because I don't mind it.

Exactly.

Me neither.

You know, I hear people all the
time, "I don't like confrontation."

I'm like, I do.

I'm like, hand it to me.

I'm good.

Get it.

Let's go.

Let's go.

I'm like, why do you
think we work out so well?

Yes.

Yes.

Well, I'm one of those, too,
and I've always said this: the

devil loves to play in the gray
areas- Mm-hmm … of the unknown.

Well, did they really say that about me?

Were they thinking that about me?

Yeah.

Was it…

Whereas I'm gonna be like,
"Hey, you got a problem?"

Ex- exactly.

I'm like, if, if there's
no gray area- That's right.

I've got- If I just ask you.

I can, I can tell you're like that.

Uh, yeah.

A little bit.

Yeah.

If you've got a problem,
let's talk about it.

Yeah.

I'm not saying be mean about it.

No.

I'm just saying let's
get it out in the open.

Let's get it out.

Let's be finished with it.

Because- We can move forward … you
may be thinking one thing, I'm

think- Exactly … I'm not thinking.

I don't know.

But let's talk about it.

And it's okay.

We don't have to be best friends.

Thank you.

But at least at this point, we'll
know where we stand, and we can

respect one another- Perfect

and be cordial and polite
and move on and forward.

Perfect.

And then you become friends.

Exactly.

That's right.

Per- Because respect matters- It
does … and it fosters friendship.

It does.

On both sides.

Yeah.

So I'm just, I'm that.

But know this, too.

If I tell you I'm praying for you- Yes.

Mm-hmm.

Yes.

I'm praying.

Yes.

And I mean, I'm gonna stop where I'm at.

I don't care if it's in Walmart.

Mm-hmm.

I don't care where it's at, I'm gonna
pray for you because- Yeah … I'm

not gonna bear false witness.

Yeah.

It's important.

And I feel like if the person has trusted
me enough to come to me and say, "I

need-" Right … "you to pray"- Mm-hmm

then they've put trust in me,
and I don't take that lightly.

No, she does that.

Mm-hmm.

I do.

I've seen her do it.

Yeah, I do.

So when's the next time you're gonna
mow so we're gonna send some prayers?

Well, my yard is dead right now.

The, the yard's dead from all the heat.

But I will text you, I will text
you when I head out there on it.

Okay.

But I'm telling you, I get those
headphones on, T- he's come out before

and he's like- Yeah, I'd give her that
facial like- "Myra" … "Turn it down."

Myra, y- you're, people-
You're embarrassing, woman.

I mean, I, I'm gonna have at it.

You know, I've had Savannah- I
don't think God wants you to act

like that … but she's, I've had
Savannah wake me up- It's a thing

and keep the line straight.

Yeah, anyway.

You get it crooked.

Yeah, I'll go everywhere.

I, I'm singing.

I'm shouting.

I mean, I've had Savannah, honestly,
when she was older, maybe stay the night

with me, and she always wants to sleep
with me, especially if he's not there.

Mm-hmm.

You know, she's gonna sleep with me.

Yeah.

And I remember at one time at 3:00
in the morning, which is the time of

the morning for me- Mm-hmm … that
it- Mm-hmm … I get woken up.

Yeah.

But I don't guess I was fully
awaken, but I was praying.

Yeah, I forgot about that.

I mean, I was praying in the Spirit.

Yeah.

I mean, I, I, apparently, Savannah,
I felt tap on my shoulder.

I said, "What?"

She goes, "You're, you're talking in
tongues a whole lot, and I can't sleep."

And I was like, "Then
go in the other room."

Yeah.

Go in the other room- Yeah … because
apparently this is important.

Yeah.

What I'm doing.

I don't know what I'm
doing, but I'm doing it.

Yeah.

But yeah, I think once
I fully embraced Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Who you are.

This is who I am.

Mm-hmm, yeah.

I'm, I'm not everybody's cup of tea.

That's okay.

And I'm okay with that.

Yep.

But if you ask me for prayer,
I'm gonna pray for you.

Yeah.

Listen, you are, you are one that,
in my head- Mm-hmm … I'm like, when

Myra prays, she rattles the gates.

Mm-hmm.

Like, she's like, "You are not
gonna not pay attention to me."

And that's the biggest compliment
you could ever give me.

Yeah.

I, I just- Because I want to be known
for that … you can see those people.

You know what I mean?

Yeah.

Like, you can, you can see.

You're one of them.

You're a little quieter about it.

Mm-hmm.

But like- But you're
gonna do it, aren't ya?

You're persistent.

That's right.

And you're gonna do it.

Yeah.

That's right.

I, I was pointing at Kerrye.

But I'm not out, I'm not out
on a- But you're not out on

the lawnmower … lawnmower.

That's right.

But, like, I just feel like- She
is … doing laundry, doing laundry

is my- That's a great time, too.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Great time, too.

Yep.

But yeah, uh, there are just
people that you can tell mean…

They, the prayers that
they pray are intercessory.

They are not casual prayers.

That's right.

Yeah.

Nothing about me is casual.

And another thing is that- I'll
just tell you … you know, the word

of your testimony, some people may
think, "Well, I don't have one."

Prophesy one people.

Yeah.

Like, you can- Call it into being

you can prophesy over yourself.

Absolutely.

I feel like everybody has a testimony.

Yeah.

Ag- agreed.

I, I've got a, I'm just gonna say a cousin
that he said, "Man, I love your testimony.

I wished I had a testimony.

I really didn't, really done
none of this in my life.

I hadn't really done…"

Mm.

I said, "Man, that is the testimony."

That is the testimony.

Right.

It is.

Sometimes God brings us through.

You're telling me, you're…

I said- Sometimes he keeps us from it.

Thank you.

That, exactly.

I want your testimony.

Thank you.

Do you know how much better I
would feel if I had your testimony?

Yeah.

You know- I mean- … because the
devil loves to make you wrestle

with those past things, you know?

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

He, every once in a
while, he'll get a jab in.

Mm-hmm Then that's when
I have to correct him.

Mm-hmm.

You just have to remind him- That's
all … like Kerrye does, "How's it

feel to not have any second chances?"

Thank you.

Definitely.

Knowing that- All the
time … your hope is gone.

Yeah.

Yep.

There is none for you.

I know, right?

I live in hope.

I've adopted it.

Yeah, I live in hope.

I do like that.

Yeah.

Yeah.

How do you feel not
having any second chance?

I say that in the mornings a lot because
that's when the harassing spirit comes.

Man, that's good.

And I'm just like- Mm-hmm … no.

Like- We're not doing this today … I
can have all the chances I want.

You can't have any.

Right.

And see, the way you're talking, I think
a lot of people, and I, I'm just gonna say

this, a lot of religious spirit is there's
a certain way you've gotta talk to God.

Oh, 100%.

The way I'm talking to you guys-
That, that's a re- … this

is how- This is how we talk to
God … this is how I talk to God.

That's a religious spirit.

It is.

Exactly.

And that's how I talk to God.

I'm just like, "Hey, you see this?"

Mm-hmm.

"You see what's going on?

I know you see it."

I'm even like, "Hey, brother."

"Hey, brother.

I, I need, I, I need,
I need you right now."

Yep, I need some help.

"I need you."

I mean, the thing is, is I think
that the religious spirit, um, in

its best way is coming from a point
of we need to be reverent- Yes

and we need to be respectful to God.

Yeah, I will agree with that.

Absolutely.

But I think there's a way to be
honest and authentic in your prayer

life and in your prayer language
while still being respectful.

That's right.

Like, I am not…

Like, you can argue- Definitely … with
God while still being respectful.

Absolutely.

Absolutely.

I have talked about that a lot.

I've had conversations with, I know
I'm gonna apologize for this tomorrow.

Exactly.

Sure.

Yep.

But I have to be real here.

But I have to…

Well, I'm- Well, He knows your heart.

Exactly.

He knows your heart.

He knows your heart.

And look at Paul.

I mean- Yeah … and look at Peter.

I mean- Right?

… Lord have mercy.

I mean, come on.

Yeah.

Yeah.

He, he…

No, I'm gonna cut somebody's ear off, and
I'll apologize for it later, but right

now- Yeah … you know what I'm saying?

But Jesus knew.

Yeah.

Uh-huh.

He knew it.

And he still said, "You're gonna
be the one that builds the church."

You're- Uh-huh.

You're…

On this rock.

You, you got a real, you got
a real big job ahead of you.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

On this rock.

So yeah.

Yeah.

Um, yeah.

I like it.

I, I don't even know what to
title this one, but- I know.

I'm gonna have to work over that
… it's coming all over the place.

I know, because we're all
over the place, aren't we?

No, it's great.

I mean, like, there's so many
good things going through my head.

Little snippets, yeah.

I have to really think about it,
unless y'all have a suggestion.

Oh, we've got more and more
and more and more and more.

We'll just keep rolling then, anyway.

Okay.

Well, we always ask, you know-
Mm-hmm … the question of if you could

go back in time to a Bible story, what
would you want to witness and why?

Not the resurrection.

Yeah.

Can't pick the crucifixion
or the resurrection.

Or the resurrection.

I wouldn't…

I'll be honest, the
first thing- I have mine.

I've been waiting.

Yeah.

She's been all coached up on this.

Yeah.

I didn't even, I didn't even know.

I just flew him.

I didn't even tell him y'all
were gonna ask this question.

Yeah.

I thought, he can wing it.

He's good.

Yeah.

I am good at winging it.

Yeah.

By the way, I, I can do
that in real estate, too.

Yeah, he can.

He can wing it well.

That's funny.

Yeah.

I can find out.

Yeah.

But the first thing- is I,
you know, I just wanted to see

that fourth person in the fire.

Ooh, yeah.

Ooh, that hasn't been talked about.

I don't think so, yeah.

It's a good one.

You know, uh, that, that,
it's about to get me.

Yeah.

Yeah, that's good.

That's crazy.

But, uh, man.

That's good.

That's a good one.

Yeah.

It is.

It's really good.

I mean, I don't think it's as
good as mine, but it's good.

It's good.

I just don't…

You know, here's the thing.

The, the fire was so hot- Yeah.

Wow … that it burnt the
people, the r- That was the door.

Just got- Yeah.

Yeah.

That, that was like, "Hey,
throw these guys in."

Dead.

And here they are just
walking around in it.

Yeah.

And then there's the fourth- Just
chilling … that fourth is what I like.

Mm-hmm.

You know?

When y'all say there, I see
a, how many did you throw in?

I see a fourth one.

It's like punching them in the face.

Like, Jesus just punched them- Really?

It is … in the face.

It's just like- And I
enjoy that … what now?

Yeah.

Yeah, I enjoy that.

Temple Jesus almost.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah, it was a preview- Yeah … to Jesus.

Yeah, it was.

Absolutely.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

And, but that one right there,
'cause y'all, I have been

through some fires in my life.

Mm-hmm.

I remember seeing my life die, you
know- Mm-hmm … in certain places.

But yeah, that, I'd go with that.

But he's right there.

That's a good one.

I'd go with that.

I love it.

That is a good one.

Yeah.

Very good.

All right.

And mine's probably better than
hers, I'll just let y'all know.

I have a couple, but I will tell
you, uh, the one I'm gonna go with-

Well, I can come up with another one.

She's got two.

I'm gonna come back with- No,
I'm not coming up with two.

I mean, I wanted to go with Elijah first-
Get the mic up to your face … because

I, I absolutely love a good smart aleck.

Oh.

Yes.

Yes.

With the prophets.

Mm-hmm.

of Baal Yeah.

Yep.

Where is your g- … Now where is…

What's he doing?

What, what's he doing?

What's he doing right now?

Yeah.

That's one of my favorites.

See, I love…

Mm-hmm.

Mm.

I love a sassy prophet.

Me too.

Yep.

I just like sassy.

Yep.

Exactly.

But I also love a good underdog.

Mm.

I'm a, I'm a underdog rooter.

I would love to witness and know what
was going through her mind, Rahab.

Oh.

Yeah.

Yes.

That's a good one.

When she decided, "I'm gonna hide them."

Mm.

I mean, what- Yeah … what came up in
your spirit not knowing anything- Yeah.

… knowing who you were- Mm-hmm.

… what you were doing.

Mm-hmm.

I'm gonna do it.

Yep.

Yeah.

I'm gonna hide them.

In the end, you get the bloodline
of Jesus- Mm-hmm … right?

Through Jesus.

Through that.

Yes.

Yep.

That's so good.

That is pretty good.

I mean- Not as good as
mine, but it was there.

It was- Mine was better.

It wa- Mine was better.

No, I just, I feel like I would
love to know what went through

her mind at that split second
saying, "I'm, I'm gonna hide them."

Mm-hmm.

"I'm gonna protect them."

Yeah.

What…

My whole family, my whole
bloodline may die- Yep

from this.

Yeah.

But I'm, I'm gonna do it.

And look what he did through that.

That's right.

Yeah.

I'm gonna do it.

Yeah, that, that is pretty good.

Yeah, I love that one.

Yeah, that's good.

What, I'm gonna do it.

I give it a eight.

Shut up.

It wasn't like a 9.8

like mine, but it, uh- It was
a eight You get on my nerves.

Y'all need to watch their videos.

They're good.

Yeah.

They're really funny.

Especially the last one.

Well- And, yeah.

Was that the last one in your kitchen?

Yes.

I loved it.

Yeah.

That was funny.

We're, we're, you know, we're gonna- We're
gonna do a lot more 'cause, and you know,

on the business side of things, you know.

Yeah, but we always want our testimony and
we- we're always gonna talk about Jesus.

I don't care- Well, it- … if it's
mixed in real estate- Yeah … cooking.

I don't care what.

It's gonna be faith,
family, and real estate.

Estate.

Yeah.

That's what we're going with.

Yeah.

Faith, family, and real estate.

And like I said, you know,
we're gonna do YouTubes.

We're gonna probably try to do- Mm-hmm
… something like this- We just gotta

get it all- … podcasts and different
things … we gotta get it started.

But y- I feel like, you know,
the devil puts you where you

can't get started, you know?

Oh.

So- Oh, we talked about this for years.

I know.

Literally for years.

Right.

We've been doing, we've been doing this s-
started since we started real estate- Good

and that's two years ago.

Mm-hmm.

For, or even longer than that.

Yeah.

But really about two years
ago is when I, I, I started.

Of course, she's not a camera person,
you know, but she does excellent on the

ca- Oh, yeah, I do … on the camera.

Yeah.

And she's so beautiful.

Yes, you are.

Aww.

She is.

You are.

She's like…

I ain't gonna lie, I
think, "Man, she's hot."

That's so sweet.

That's how it's supposed to be.

To be.

I do.

Yeah.

I think, "Man, she's hot,
and I'm one lucky dude."

I do.

I, I, I'm, hey- You are.

You are very lucky … God's
honest truth right there.

Yeah.

God's honest truth.

That's how it's supposed to be.

Yeah.

Well, I appreciate that.

It's funny.

Yeah.

Thank you.

Well, look for their videos
and upcoming podcasts.

Yes.

So.

Yeah.

Thank you, guys.

And we loved it.

This was such an honor.

We will definitely have y'all back.

Listen, it was great.

I'm sorry she got crying and stuff.

Uh, yeah.

No, this is an honor.

I'm just telling you, I, I listen to
this podcast because it's just so good.

I love hearing people- Well,
people- … share their stuff.

I love hearing, yes.

I love hearing how God
comes through for them.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So it's encouraging to- It's
encouraging to everybody.

Well, it, it- It is.

It is … it needs to reach out further.

Yeah.

We gotta get more people listening.

It needs to reach out further.

We're in like 15 countries.

All right.

That's awesome.

Good.

Yeah.

We didn't know that.

We just added, we just added
Finland and the Netherlands.

Perfect.

Yeah.

I have no idea how.

I love it.

I don't know how it's getting out
there, but- I love it But we might

all have to speak in tongues.

Maybe it's gonna interpret over to them.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yes.

Yes.

Maybe.

I can come in and try that for y'all.

Yeah.

That's German.

Uh-huh.

Yeah.

We'll get you some German podcasts.

Y'all, he is too much.

All right.

He's too much.

The buck's got woken up.

Yeah.

Aww.

I forgot he was even over there.

He was- Yeah, he finally was comfortable.

He won't lay down in my lab.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So, anyway.

Well, y'all, thank you so much and
we will have you on again soon.

Perfect.

Yes.

Thanks.

Enjoyed it.

Okay.

Thank y'all.

Bye.

Bye.

Y'all.

Love you.

Okay.

It's so funny, Reyna.
