movie Rocky.

outstanding the trailer looks really good

whole accent, but the whole accent.

and they changed it on me second the
t-shirts were not to promote me at the
games they're just t-shirts to to let you

shipping date is prior to me leaving for
the games fingers crossed show up on my
door before i hop on the plane

in a last minute deal,
which CrossFit always does media last
minute.
If you've followed the ESPN deal got
signed like the Wednesday night of the
games in twenty three.

Before they get like that's just their
M.O.

That last minute deal they signed with
Flow Elite to cover every event of the
CrossFit Games,
regardless of division or
Or whatever.
Some of it is behind a paywall.
Some of it is not.
Sure.
My first comment is,
by CrossFit waiting to the last minute,
you put your media partner in a bind.
Yeah.
As much as everybody complains about Flow
Elite, this is not helping.
In addition to that,
they've announced their broadcast team and
that Flow Elite is going to use the
CrossFit broadcast.
And it will just air on their channel.
So you're getting Sean Woodland.
You're getting Chase Ingram.
You're getting Bailey Martin.
You're getting, um,
the guy who always does Joel, Joel Gadet.
Yep.
Um, you're getting Jamie.

the same that CrossFit has used for years.
It's just going on Flow Elite.
They will simulcast on YouTube and the
CrossFit Games channel for the events not
behind a paywall.

In addition,
Flow Elite has an agreement with Amazon
Prime
where it will simulcast on Amazon prime.
Get out.
I didn't see that at all.
Right.
That's kind of like a hidden little piece.
Okay.
So that,
that actually upped it a little bit for
me because that's kind of a big deal.
Would you agree?
Yeah,
I would say it's a huge deal because
the way of watching TV today is changing.
And the fact that it's going on Prime
is a good thing, in my opinion.

The deal was just finalized.
Who knows how long it took to get
the deal done or when negotiations

But I am telling you,
year over year over year,
the media deals are not done until the
last minute.
Crying shame, but it's true.
I did not say it was CrossFit's fault.
I just said the track record is.
If you go back and watch the tape.

Flow Elite is throwing in twenty five K,
but they're not into the overall prize
purse.
It is going to be special events where
they will award the winner of these
events.
I think they're they're setting aside a
piece every day for a different event.
And it's not just the elites.
It's going to be masters.
um adaptive team possibilities as well
they are trying to integrate themselves in
in uh i mean what's the easiest way
to for a a
entity like flowily to get themselves
cozied up to the athletes into the
community let's throw money at people
right so i see a lot of questions
about where you can do free there are
all but five events that will be free
across the board yep and in addition to
that
The five events are exclusive to Flow
Elite and they're going to be behind a
paywall.
They've listed them on the website and in
the press release.
Hopefully, Vicky can pull that up.
It's like event seven is behind the
paywall, event...
nine and ten,
maybe I'm trying to do it from memory,
I think, fifteen and seven, eight.
I don't know.
It's seventy six.
Even two hundred and thirty three is
probably behind.
So.
So that's that the masters,
the teens and the adaptives will all be
on flow elite,
but they will all be behind the paywall.
so which that is that whatever i know
a lot of people are complaining and a
lot of people are but crossfit is not
where it used to be getting a media
partner that's willing to partner with
them is important and if that means it
goes behind a paywall in my opinion you
got to do it yeah
Well,
like Stan's got a good point right here.
You know,
people seem to think media partners are
beating down the door to work with
CrossFit.
It's a tiny niche sport in a huge
ecosystem.
And that is probably one of the truest
things that are one of the things I
most agree with for sure that Andrew Stan
has said in the past six months.
We are still young, extremely young,
a tiny, I mean, when you go to,
you can go to a large event and
see a lot of people that you know,
it's not a big sport.
And I'm not talking about just the
athletes.
I mean in general.
Okay, so it's individual events seven,
individual events nine and ten, fifteen,
the women only will be behind the paywall,
and sixteen and seventeen.
There you go.
I see all these people saying, well,
if I have to pay for it,
I'm not watching it.
Good.
Don't.
And my answer to that is then you're
not a big fan.
You are a casual fan.
If you really, really,
really want to watch the sport,
you're going to pay.
If you're going to,
if you want to watch a movie,
if I want to go see,
I played Rocky,
I'm going to go pay for it.
Right?
Like it just is.
That's what entertainment is these days.
If you want to go see Pitbull and
Lil Jon,
you got to pay a ticket to get
in.
It wasn't an expensive ticket,
but you do have to pay a ticket
to get in.
That's a fact.
Right.
And so they need to partner.
And to be fair,
the people we've been dogging is like
Legends and the pit.
I haven't even been dogging the pit.
But the other divisions,
they've had this in place for a long
time.
They announced Flow Elite as their partner
months and months ago.
So it's only CrossFit, the main show,
that did the last-minute deal.
And it's five events behind the paywall.
Don't watch those five events.
Get caught up later.
There's twenty of them going on.
I don't understand the bitching.
Somebody had said a minute ago,
I don't even know who it was.
I didn't catch who it was,
but they said, you know,
the young sport is the lame excuse.
Football has been around for a hundred
years.
The NBA has been around since what,
the fifties?

Yes, we are a young sport.
Like it or not.
And we are,
it's not even so much that we are
a young sport that,
that we are a niche sport.
We are a very, very.
narrow focus, small market.

Not a whole lot of people want to
watch competitive exercise.
Who's the best exerciser?
Is it you?
Is it that guy?
Is it that girl?
And that's what Flow Elite specializes in,
niche sports.
Go look on their channel.
You will see competitive cheerleading.
You will see all kinds of... Wrestling.
Dude, there's all kinds of crazy sports.
Track and field.
Yeah.
So like... Go check it out.
The...
the economy around crossfit is completely
different today than when we got a full
broadcast for free there was millions upon
millions of dollars thrown in from reebok
that is not there anymore and reebok was
branded on everything
People are asking about the prime thing.
There was nothing really said about what
that means, what it entails,
just that it was going to happen.
I don't know what it's going to look
like.
The other thing that the co-founder of
Flow Elite said,
because it was a last-minute deal,
this year is going to be the most
basic version of what they're going to do.
Apparently, this is a multi-year deal.
And going forward,
the plan is to expand that and make
it better and better and better as it
goes along.
But the sky is falling, Scott.
If you're looking for me to commiserate
with having to pay, dude,
I pay thousands of dollars to go watch
it live.
Like to pay thirty bucks to see something
I love watching doesn't seem like a lot
of money to me.
However, CrossFit knows,
I'm sure they did a pros and cons,
a SWOT analysis as to what's going to
happen with this.
And this was what they felt was the
best course of action.
Yep.
Easy pay.
Easy, easy day.
So I've missed a ton of the comments.

Like it's listed events listed and every
heat basically,
but mine got broadcast and they had that,
that flow elite.

The SAP Center is a much more modern
venue than we've been at in the past
and probably more modern than a
fairgrounds in Del Mar.
And I wasn't in Birmingham,
so I don't know what that facility was
like, but it's a convention center, right?
Not a sports arena?
No, it's an athletic center.
So there's a big-ass track,
there's a pool,
and then there's the arena thing.
It's a sports-specific place.
I am hoping the SAP center is equipped
with the bandwidth to get the broadcast
out in a way that makes sense with
dedicated like internet to get that out.
And it's the CrossFit broadcast team and
the players that filmed it for years.
I think they know what they're doing.
They're just laying it on the,
the flow elite broadcast or on the
platform.
The other,
the other ones were makeshift dish like
the savant podcasted legends, right?

They've done some stuff never at that
scale and never in a venue where they
couldn't even get the internet turned up.
I don't know who Magic City used because
I'd never heard of them before.

I don't know what the company they used
was, but, I mean,
it was broadcast on Fluid Elite.
So it's just – I'll tell you like
this.
Their cameras look pretty professional.
They weren't running around with iPhones
on selfie sticks.
It's not about the camera.
It's about the bandwidth of the wire to
get it to the thing.

I'm just telling you from what I could
– the little bit I saw of them,
they looked like they knew what they were
doing.
So, Jonathan, it's all on one platform.
Everything is on Flow Elite.
Most of it is free.
Five of the events are not free.
If you don't want to watch on Flow
Elite,
you can get all but five events on
YouTube and the CrossFit Games channel.
Six books an event.
six bucks an event,
it actually breaks down cheaper than that.
If you watch the Masters,
the Masters games before then,
because that'll be however many that is a
very, if you were paying attention,

the co founder and said on the sport

it's not sending you to CrossFit, right?
Because it's not in your algorithm.
But if it gets enough views on Prime,
Prime will put it up in their top
whatever or recommend, hey,
if you like this,
maybe you like this type stuff.
And that could be super useful.
right if you are watching the original
mass monster you know about the the
bodybuilding dudes or any of those kind of
you know pumping iron or whatever it also
recommends to you crossfit video you know
the documentaries it also recommends to
you the the distance running because it
figures you're into fitness cool so
with that stuff being on there if you
are you know uh you know if you're
a bodybuilder and you're watching
something like that it's also going to
recommend that to it and maybe you might
check it out maybe you might not a
lot of people already have a lot of
preconceived notions about crossfit and
are not going to watch it regardless some
of them are going to watch it strictly
because strictly to hate on it and will
hate watch it cool do that too well
