It's been a really, really big reminder to Mitchell and I, especially with him being in this copycat phase where he's repeating everything we say. Yeah. It's like we are our children's greatest example of Christ, honestly. And, like, teaching him these things, like how to use your manners is, like, really important to me. But, like, just watching him come into become this little little boy.
Carrie:Hello, and welcome back to another episode of New Mom. I'm your host, Carrie Alexander, and I am so excited to be with you here today. Today on the show, I got to sit down with my sweet new friend, Fischer. Holly is a wife, a mom of two, and a content creator. Her page is known for being a practically helpful, relatable, and encouraging space for moms.
Carrie:She is in the thick of two under two right now. And I personally was so relieved to hear how great that transition has been for her family and her marriage. We talk birth stories, baby gear, and the importance of finding a creative outlet as a new mom. Also, if you hear any little coos, she held her little eight week old daughter Madison the entire episode because you know, mom life and it was absolutely precious. I hope you enjoy my talk with Holly.
Carrie:Well, Holly, thank you so much for being on New Mom. Welcome to the podcast.
Holly:Thank you. I'm so excited
Carrie:to I'm be so happy to have both of you here. I know. Were gonna see how it went and then she wanted to be on camera. She was like, I'm I'm coming too. She's ready.
Carrie:She's ready for a close-up. So gosh, before we dive into every everything, maybe just like give me a little rundown of who you are. Obviously, you're a new mom with the baby number two here. But, yeah, just tell us like a little bit about you.
Holly:Okay. A little bit about me. I was born and raised in South Florida. I met my husband in college. We went to Liberty University.
Holly:Oh. Got married. Pretty much, we got engaged our fall break of senior year and married less than four months later in February. Oh my gosh.
Carrie:Yeah. How long did you guys date?
Holly:Like two and a half years.
Carrie:Okay. So
Holly:you We had been friends for a year before that. Got married, had no idea where we wanted to live, visited a bunch of cities in the Southeast, visited Franklin once and said we'll get an apartment. And if we hate it, we'll move. Wow. Now we've been here ever since.
Carrie:That's so amazing. And you're you're loving it?
Holly:Loving it. Obviously, mom of two now, but all I've ever wanted to be ever since I was little was a mom. I I was at my sister's baby shower this past weekend and I one of my old elementary school teachers was there and her son was in my grade and she was like, I was just telling my son, oh, yeah. I'm gonna see Holly at the shower. And he's like, ever when I found out that she was gonna be a mom, I said, that's what she's always wanted.
Holly:And, like, this is just my dream and it's been amazing.
Carrie:That's so amazing. Oh, I'm so happy to have you on. If people are listening, they can probably tell like we've never met before, which is I so don't get to do a lot of these. Like I feel like I have lot of girlfriends on or people that I've met a little bit, but I have followed you on socials for a while. And I think that your stuff is so If you don't follow Holly, Holly Fischer, give her a follow.
Carrie:But your stuff is just so light and encouraging and I think makes moms feel like they can do it. Like I told you, like one of my best friends is about to have a baby girl, two under two. And she loves your stuff and she's like, okay, I'm seeing that it's possible. Like I love that you post about like, you still go out. Like you guys still, you know, get out of the house a little bit and you can, you know, do other things.
Carrie:And also that age gap can just be like super intimidating. So I think you're doing like a really good job with it. But anyway, I'm excited to to have you on. The question that I always start with is what is the Lord teaching you in this season of motherhood?
Holly:Loaded question because a lot.
Carrie:Give it to me. All of it.
Holly:Yeah. Right? I feel like the biggest thing that I've been learning and honestly, it's something I've been learning for a long time is patience. My family always I've been so bad at patience ever since I was little being patient ever since I was little. They even made up a song for me when I was little
Carrie:about being
Holly:Yes. And I have to it's funny now and it's very humbling motherhood, just because for example, just how we were about to start this podcast and she starts, you know, maybe wanting to eat or acting up or something, you just have to be patient and roll with it. Like, there's no other option and I feel like patience is the hardest thing for me and staying calm and being patient with both of my kids who are still very little, don't know how to hardly know how to communicate. Mhmm. You know, through crying, I can kind of tell with her with Landon, we're really working on, like, you know, trying to teach him basic things so that I can help basic things.
Holly:But then even patience with Mitchell, I feel like that almost has been the hardest because I as the mom, I'm sure you feel this. You can just there's so much going on in your head and then one wrong moment, you're thinking one thing and, maybe Mitch asked me a question or Landon's needing me and Madison's needing me or it's all at the same time and I can find myself either snapping or being Oh my gosh, short I really not spend like so much. Like I have to remind myself to breathe and just be patient and like, it's not the end of the world.
Carrie:Yeah. But it's hard. I can only imagine. I mean, I'm that way. I think I It's so funny you say that because I remember my dad always would tell me when I was little, he was always like, patience is important because I wasn't patient either.
Carrie:Was like, more cookies, more whatever.
Speaker 3:More more more. Yeah, exactly.
Carrie:And I remember him always telling me that and I was like patience stinks. I'm not interested in patience. And it's ironically the thing that I feel like the fruit of the spirit and the thing that the Lord has continued to teach me and grow me in. And it's almost like until I learned my lesson, he's like, we're gonna keep learning this. We're gonna learn it our whole lives, but I feel like I've been running from patients for a long time.
Carrie:Then the last few It's great way to put it. The last few years, it's like, okay, have no choice and motherhood, truly, like you said, there really is no choice. No. There's It was like, my child needs me and I have to I guess there is a choice. You could be like super angry and miserable.
Holly:Right.
Carrie:Or you can like lean in and I think that's something I'm still like wrestling with all the time. And with your spouse like that, was I gonna ask like for you and Mitch, how has the transition from marriage been from going from one to two babies? Like how how's that compared to zero to one?
Holly:Okay. Zero to one honestly did not rock us at all. Don't know if that is because Mitch has always said he wanted to be a dad and I've always said I wanted to be a mom. And so we've like ever since we were dating, we've always talked about kids. Mhmm.
Holly:But then when you're thrown into it, obviously, there's hard times and stuff. But we kinda just like rolled with it. A lot of our friends were having kids at the same time or people we met. So we kind of just like everybody changed their lifestyle, if that makes sense. It wasn't like Nice.
Holly:We all we were the first or doing it alone. Like we well, we actually didn't really have any friends, but we made friends during that season that were having kids and stuff. So we all kinda went through it together. So that wasn't bad. And if you ask us if two under two has rocked us, we will say it hasn't rocked us, but it swayed us a little bit.
Holly:We're definitely swaying, but every week, every month, you know, they change so much when they're so little, especially Landon, I feel like he's changing so much.
Carrie:Feel Year one to two, I'm already noticing with Arch. Oh, yeah. From 12 to almost 14, completely different baby.
Holly:Completely different. Yeah. So different. It's beautiful, but it's so sad too. So we're trying to every week there's something new literally.
Holly:Oh, she's sleeping great. Landon's doing great. He's able to communicate. Oh, great. The tantrums have started.
Holly:Oh, great. She's not sleeping.
Speaker 3:I'm like They're both in like full Yeah.
Holly:Transition periods. And so we're both just kinda like, you know, we're gonna survive and whatever that looks like. Like, we just keep reminding ourselves, like, at the end of the night, we just keep telling ourselves, like, we're on the same team. We're gonna get through another day.
Carrie:Gosh. That's that's like so good. We've been talking about marriage so much lately and we've had a couple of friends on talking about on the podcast, but fact that they're not your enemy, it's just so easy. It's like you have to get mad at someone and feel like I'm I don't wanna mad
Holly:at my kids. Wanna blame myself, I
Carrie:wanna blame don't wanna blame my babies. So it's like, I'm so I think that's something we're really working on right now is like, just kind of finding that and we'd love to lock that in. I think we've I don't know what Khan would say if we've struggled, but I think that it has rocked us some having a kid, like for sure having one. And so I'm kind of praying that we have sort of like an opposite experience to what you had where I'm hoping because we have had like almost a lot of, oh, this is really different. And we were married for two years before we had Archie.
Carrie:And I feel like we were that couple that I don't know how you guys were, but we just always got along. We're just besties. It was just like besties for the besties, no issues. We didn't really fight. Know people are like, you have to fight, but we just like didn't.
Carrie:Were just I
Holly:mean, we'd have disagreements Totally. And different opinions and maybe things that we're strong on, but We just weren't We didn't have tension. Friends. 100%.
Carrie:Totally. Yeah. So that's how we were and it's been like a funny it's almost like humorous now being a year end because like, it was just almost like scary at first when we would disagree. I'd be like, oh my gosh, I'm so annoyed with him. Like, why is that dish not getting done while I'm pumping?
Carrie:Or like Yep. Why am I starving and he's not mentioning it or whatever it is. And then as we're growing, I guess when you just get less scared of it, you start to realize like, no, this is actually something that the Lord's gonna use to grow our marriage as we grow through the struggles. But that's so cool.
Holly:Smiling.
Carrie:Oh. So when did you how long had you been married before you had Landon?
Holly:Okay. So we had been we got married February 2022, and Landon was born October 2024. So two and a half years. Okay.
Carrie:Just about. That's that's like a great that's kind of how we were, I think. That's like a great amount of time. Did you feel like were you guys ready for kids? Like, were you planning for it?
Holly:I was definitely ready before Mitchell was. And so it was kind of a process of some of our extended friends that don't live here were starting to have kids. And I was like, this is, you know, what we want. Like, we're so young. We actually got married at 22.
Holly:Oh my gosh. Back is crazy because we're only 26 right now Yeah. With two kids. I'm like, why
Carrie:am for this generation. Like, that's when my mom had me in 20 but that's like seems so young now. I love that.
Holly:Yeah. So I was definitely more ready I was definitely more ready having kids before Mitchell and it was kind of a process of the Lord really, like, refining his heart. And all of a sudden he was like, okay, I think I'm ready. And we're like, well, when we had originally talked about it, we're gonna wait three years, married, travel, you know, we we love traveling. And we still travel with the kids, not as much and not many cool places, but we still try and travel with them.
Holly:So we we just weren't we didn't know if we were ready to give up that part of our lives, which now looking back sounds so funny because I feel like we're just we talk about now, like, we feel like we're just starting to live our lives,
Carrie:like Totally.
Holly:Having kids like Now we're like, wait, what were we doing before? Like, it was such a it was just such a different mindset.
Carrie:Yes. It is. Also, don't know if you guys are like this. I can't remember much of before. Like, I have the memories like I remember time.
Carrie:Yeah. I'm like, what was I doing? Like, I was I was acting overwhelmed and busy and I am pretty sure I wasn't like, looking back now compared comparatively.
Holly:But Totally. So originally, we said we wanted to wait three years.
Carrie:Mhmm.
Holly:And then we were I was like, come on. I'm ready for kids. And I really just prayed for months that the Lord would soften Mitchell's heart because I didn't want us having kids to be like, I wanna have kids, so let's have kids. I really wanted it to be and I knew he wanted to be a dad and that wasn't my fear, like bait and switch at all. I knew he still wanted kids.
Holly:It was just a matter of when. Mhmm.
Carrie:So
Holly:when we were kinda talking about it, he came to me and he was like, alright, I really I think I'm ready. Like, we'll see. But you never know how long that's gonna take. And it was kind of a year before we really were ready to have kids. And we're like, well, the Lord is gonna bless us if we're meant to have a baby.
Holly:And if not, we're gonna wait another year. So it happened very quickly, very unex I wasn't I mean, we were ready, but we were like, oh, wow.
Carrie:Like, it just happened.
Holly:Yes. Like, three weeks later, I was like, oh my goodness. I'm pregnant. We're having a baby. Our life changed, like, so quickly from like
Carrie:That is crazy.
Holly:We're gonna wait another year to, oh, we're having a baby before the year's up.
Carrie:That's a huge change.
Speaker 3:Yes.
Carrie:That's great. I love hearing those stories though because you hear so much about Do you wanna eat? When it takes a long time for women to conceive, which is so real.
Holly:Yes. So
Carrie:normal. But I I always love to hear women that are like, actually, guys, you can get pregnant in three weeks.
Holly:It you And can't get pregnant breastfeeding.
Carrie:Yeah. You can get pregnant breastfeeding. Okay. Say that.
Holly:I exclusively nursed my son. Well, my mom always says, you can't say exclusively nurse because he's eating solids. But I did nurse my son for fifteen months, and I was pregnant ten months postpartum.
Carrie:Wow. And was that planned?
Speaker 3:No. Okay. Sorry. I was like I was like, can I ask that?
Holly:No. I don't care. I'm an open book. Okay. No.
Holly:That was not planned. We thought we would be waiting till this September to have a baby. It was kind of our plan. Obviously, the Lord's plan is far better than ours because this has been, like, so sweet and so much better than I thought. I was very scared.
Holly:I was ready. We knew we wanted more kids, but it was like, are you ever ready? Totally.
Carrie:Oh my gosh. That's us right now. It's like, we're in that phase now that he's past one. We're at any point it's like, okay, people could be like, are you ready? And I just keep having that same feeling where I'm like, I don't know, do I feel ready?
Carrie:But the last time it was kinda similar, I knew for so long that whenever he was like, let's do it, I was ready. And he similar, like to your husband, he always knew he wanted to be a dad. But he was just like, I know that I want that, but I'm really enjoying like us right now, which is like so valid. And I never wanted to I never wanted to do the bait and switch like you said of being like, oh my gosh, you're like trick him into, know, some people do Some these things happen. Mom moms are like, hey, I wanted to get it going.
Carrie:And I didn't wanna do that. And so I really had to like be patient and pray through that because I don't know. I wanted to kind of like, I guess steer the ship on that. Was like, come on, I'm ready. Like, be ready.
Holly:I really
Carrie:totally And it taught me a lot patience. Like we've talked about. And the patience factor was so important because when I just started praying for him and then the Lord started putting on his heart slowly through different men, like different members speaking to his life randomly at work and in social settings of, hey, being a dad's amazing. Like actually Very similar to It's the best thing, really. And it was so cool because I didn't do it.
Carrie:Don't have to sit down and be like, hey, this is all the reasons that like all these dads, they say it's so great. It was so cool that he would come to me and be like I love that. God might be speaking to me about this. Maybe we're ready. And then it didn't take it.
Carrie:Was just a few months later. Were really, really fortunate That's amazing. That we that we did and we were both ready. Yeah. So talk to me about two under two.
Carrie:What has been like, you said you would have loved to like in your plan, would have waited a little longer, which like you said, we all have plans and then God comes in and does something better.
Holly:Oh, yeah.
Carrie:But what happened, like, the pleasant surprises of two under two?
Holly:I think just watching Landon because he still is a baby. I mean, toddler, but he still, to me, is a baby Mhmm. In some in some regard. Watching him step into the role of being a big brother. Like, it's funny.
Holly:We haven't taught him, you know, how to care for her, but he's watching our every move. And if she starts crying, he stands up and goes, passy. And we'll run and find her pacifier or he'll run over to the stroller and push it back and forth how we kinda like rocket and go, shh.
Carrie:Oh, that's so precious.
Holly:Or when she's in the bouncer, he'll we like always hold our foot on the bouncer and kinda rocket up and down. And he'll come over and put his foot up on the bouncer and rock it up and down. And it's little things like that that we haven't taught him, but he's watching us. And I feel like it's a it's been a really really big reminder to Mitchell and I, especially with him being in this copycat phase where he's repeating everything we say. Yeah.
Holly:It's like we are our children's greatest example of Christ honestly, and like teaching him these things like how to use your manners is like really important to me. But like just watching him come into become this little little boy out from a baby, even though he's still a baby. I don't know. But watching him step into that role of big brother has been
Carrie:like is so precious. How does he do with the initial adjustment? Because I know so many moms worry about introducing Amazing. You know, first to second. He did did well.
Carrie:Did he like love her right away?
Holly:Loved her right away. We spent I mean, from the moment I found out I was pregnant, mean, we were telling him there's a baby in mommy's belly. There's a baby in mommy's belly. I mean, we were talking about it twenty four seven when we'd be out in public. We'd say, stroller with a baby, mommy's gonna have
Carrie:a baby. Did he pick
Holly:up on it? 100%. He's not once since I've had her said there's a baby in my belly.
Carrie:Knows. He knows. He's like, here she's arrived. Here she is.
Speaker 3:She's out.
Holly:She's she's here. He knows there's no baby in my belly. Oh my gosh. But yeah, he fully understood and the adjustment has been way better than I expected. It's been obviously the hardest on the mom.
Holly:In my opinion, I think it is hardest. Yeah. Although some people would say that it's hardest on the dad. I'd be curious what Mitch thinks just because you go from, at least in our relationship, me kind of being the primary caretaker just because Mitch is working full time Mhmm. Except on the weekends, you know, Mitch does it all.
Holly:But during the week to now kinda being two on one when Mitch is working to the weekends, now Mitch is way more involved. You just really don't get a break.
Carrie:That I was gonna say, because I feel like, yeah, with us, we can tag team. It's 100%. He's working from home right now a lot, so he's here and I still do I would say I would do the majority of it.
Holly:Yeah.
Carrie:But I'm so when when I was getting ready for today, was like, I just need thirty minutes to like get ready while you have him or whatever. But when you have two, it's like
Holly:Strap a baby in the carrier Yep. And get it gusty. Yep. Think there's
Speaker 3:a reason so many girls
Carrie:so many women that like have have two babies, they always have the the little one on the carrier. Like, I always use the carrier, but I can't even imagine with your second how much more that carrier is like absolutely clutch. Essential. Okay. So I saw that you traveled recently with with two and that's impressive to me because I think
Holly:traveling Not
Carrie:so low. Well, kind of. I mean, either way you're gonna get credit because that's hard to do. But you did it. What takeaways, tips, anything that you're like, that didn't go so well, how was it?
Holly:We say in our house, days, the sky's the limit. There are literally no rules on travel days. Part of that is because Mitchell and I can handle the whining or like, you know, maybe the fussiness when we're home, but we also wanna be respectful of the other people around that it's like, I can't like, we sometimes you just have to give in Yeah. On a travel day. Mhmm.
Holly:So we do we do iPads. He doesn't know an iPad at home, but he knows an iPad in the airport.
Carrie:We're screaming.
Holly:Yeah. And I don't care. Unlimited snacks. I mean, kind of, you know, whatever goes. Mhmm.
Holly:But it's worked. Like, he's done great on every flight. He's flown over 20 something times.
Carrie:Oh, wow. So he's kinda used to it. Does is every time like, does he like it now at this point? Is he comfortable with it? Or is it always like Yeah.
Holly:I'd say he, like, kinda knows. We talk about the airplane all the time. We're going on an airplane. So we kind of, like, try and prep him as best as we can. Mhmm.
Holly:But as he's gotten older, we didn't start doing I like, the iPad until he maybe like fifteen months when he really fell in love with a movie, which is Nemo. Ugh. But actually Finding Dory because Nemo's really scary.
Carrie:Nemo is scary. A lot of those movies now I look back, I'm like, they're cute, but there's some freakish parts.
Holly:We watched Finding Dory.
Carrie:Okay. Finding Dory is not scary? Not as Okay. Much
Speaker 3:can't remember the difference. Yeah, I
Holly:would say kind of just roll with it. And also, I always say, like, a baby's gonna be a baby and a toddler's gonna be a toddler. The only thing on a travel day that you have control of is yourself, your emotions, and how you respond to the situation that comes up that day. That's the only thing that you have control
Carrie:That's so good, Holly. Because I something I struggled with with travel and I haven't really flown with him since since like he was 99, 10. It's been a while. We've done a lot of road trips. But I like every time your baby squeals for ten seconds, it feels like ten minutes.
Holly:Oh
Carrie:yeah. Because it's you. And so it's like your booty sweat and you're like, know, everybody's staring at me every But I have to just keep remembering like, like you just said, they are a kid. Like as long as my whole thing, when I see other parents too, I just wanna see that you're just making an effort. Yes.
Carrie:You know what I mean? As long as you're trying, if your kid's losing it, they're losing it. Like you said,
Holly:There's nothing you And that's, can
Carrie:yeah, there's nothing you can do. And hopefully, I mean, whatever, people get it. Most people get it.
Speaker 3:People's hearts get it. Not everybody gets it. Not everybody does,
Carrie:which is disappointing, but you're doing what you can, which is really good. We've been doing a lot of road trips lately and I love that rule that you said, just like kind of everything goes because I've I've puffed that kid up with so many snacks in the car. I'm just like throwing them. I get carsick when I sit in the back. So I'm I'll sit in the back for like portions when he really needs me and then I'll go back to the front.
Carrie:And when he's alone back there, it's like, I'm I'm throwing crackers. I'm like, whatever it takes.
Speaker 3:I'm like, this kid is a carb. He's just one giant carb.
Holly:No, literally. I'm We're the same way. It's always like cracker, cracker, whatever.
Carrie:Archie's favorite word. Well, you said the other day, Con was like, should we like get cut the crackers? Like this kid's gonna turn into bleached flour, unbleached flour. I was like, well, it works and he's in the car
Speaker 3:and, you know, You he's
Holly:reset. The next day is a reset. That's what I always say. If a nap does fail, if bedtime's a fail, doesn't matter because we are the one I Mitch and I always try and say, when something goes off, was it something we did? Like, did we mess up his schedule, which we're pretty loose with everything, but did are we the reason he may be acting up?
Holly:Then, like, whatever. It's a reset day. Tomorrow's gonna be a new day, and we're gonna get him back on track. But if it's something that we did to kinda, like, you know, we inconvenience him because we wanted to travel or we wanted to go to out to eat with our friends, then like, kinda gotta give it up. Yeah.
Holly:Anything's good to go. That's so good.
Carrie:Okay. I wanna take it back to birth. I don't know your birth stories. Were they similar? Were they different?
Carrie:Like, how have you recovered with Madison?
Holly:Yeah. Similar in the sense that I got an epidural with both. Oh, so did I.
Speaker 3:Yes. Love an epidural. Thank you, Jesus.
Holly:Almost didn't with her. So different in the sense that his labor was so long and hers it depends. Hers was technically long because my water broke at 8PM, but I had no contractions till the next morning with her.
Carrie:So do they admit you when your water breaks regardless, or did you
Holly:have to wait? It depends. I decided personally, and this is no medical advice, this is my personal decision working with my doctors and my doula, I decided to sleep at home the whole night and wait for my body to kinda move it along. I had been three centimeters dilated with her.
Carrie:Sorry.
Holly:I had been three centimeters dilated with her since I was 35 or thirty six weeks. So my body was like, knew what it was doing, it kinda stalled. And then at thirty eight weeks I had both of them two weeks early as well. Oh, you did? So Landon was thirty eight weeks exactly.
Holly:My water broke in the morning, went to the hospital later, and I had him the next day. So his labor was definitely long.
Carrie:Mhmm.
Holly:And then hers was like, as soon as my contractions started, by the time we got to the hospital, got there at 11AM, she was born by one Oh
Carrie:my gosh.
Holly:And I went from a six to a 10 in about forty five minutes, less than an hour. Wow. Push, like, not long at all. And she was born. Like, it was crazy.
Carrie:That's crazy. How has the recovery been first versus second? Because I've heard a lot of people say the second tends to be chiller on your body. So easy. Really?
Carrie:Yes. I love hearing I had a
Holly:second degree tear with my son and with her, didn't it all stop the
Carrie:I had a third degree and I'm a little scared for the next one just because that was not fun.
Speaker 3:I did not like that.
Carrie:It was a little rough. Okay, that's honestly really encouraging to hear that it can be better. Because I've heard a couple of girls say that, I don't know, the second one just kind of flies out. Imagine the fourth or fifth, they're probably just like Literally. Hospital.
Holly:We actually and this was not smart on our part. When I had my contractions started to pick up in the morning at 8AM with her, we were planning on going to gymnastics with Landon. My mom was in town, and we went to gymnastics. And my contractions switched like a dime. I was on the floor of the gymnastics place shaking, like, I don't know if I'm gonna be able to make it.
Holly:Like, I was totally fine, able to talk, breathe. I was there with my friends. I mean
Carrie:All of sudden, like
Holly:All of a sudden, I was like, get me to the hospital. I am going to have this baby. They it it was so rushed when we got to the hospital. They're like admitting me. I could stop being able to talk.
Holly:Like, I was just like moving so quickly and they had no rooms available. So we were stuck in triage and they typically don't do the epidural. It was right before Memorial Day. So people were there for elective inductions.
Carrie:Yeah. Oh, yeah. We were okay. So my son was born Memorial Day weekend. He was born on a Thursday.
Carrie:I just went into labor on Thursday, thankfully, because there were all the inductions coming like twelve hours after and that place got packed. That's a crazy time to have a baby.
Holly:Yes. It was crazy. So they're wheeling me the anesthesiologist for the epidurals running with me and they where I delivered, they basically said if I can sit still, they'll give me the epidural, but I was 10 centimeters dilated getting the epidural. Oh my It was the most pain I've ever been in my life. Like, people who do unmedicated births, I mean, can totally do it, but like, it is anybody who gives birth is incredible.
Holly:Yes. No matter how you bring a baby
Carrie:into but the
Holly:it's a different kind of pain. It's the worst pain I've ever been in in my life.
Speaker 3:Thank the lord. So you were able to get the epidural like
Holly:just Just the the and within seconds, I was like,
Carrie:It's crazy how fast that kicks in. I had a friend who was about to have her baby and she messaged me about the epidural and she's like, so like I should have planned it out like how how many like minutes or hours after will I And I was like,
Speaker 3:oh, it's gonna feel really good really fast.
Holly:Pump it as fast as you can. Literally, they're like, okay, you're ready to push. I asked them for thirty minutes to breathe because I felt like I hadn't I had no idea what was going on.
Speaker 3:Can I regroup before I just
Carrie:have my daughter enter
Speaker 3:the world? Give me a Yeah.
Holly:I regrouped, did my makeup, got ready. Love it. But her birth was honestly a dream. It was I would have said that I had a really positive birth experience with Landon too. But I think anything is doing it for your first time is just naturally more scary
Carrie:Yeah. Than your second. Think so too. I had like a smooth labor and it was like a good amount of time. Like I went into labor like late afternoon, was at the hospital by that night, had him the next morning.
Carrie:So like it was it was great. It was just the recovery that stunk. So I feel like I do look forward to like, we thought it personally, like, we enjoy going to the hustle. We thought it was kinda fun and exciting. Your family's in town.
Carrie:It's like, it's very fun. And then and then the recovery was just bummer. So I hope that I have a similar,
Holly:like I mean, you're still recovering after having a baby, but it was so much easier. Mhmm. I mean, I really felt totally back to normal within two weeks. I was we were out at a restaurant day two.
Carrie:That is amazing. Okay. Now what about breastfeeding? You said you nursed Landon. Mhmm.
Carrie:Do you do you also exclusively nurse her?
Holly:Yeah. She's actually only had a bottle once. We need to do better about
Carrie:That's hard when it's going well. Like I really getting him to start the bottle. I don't know, I just procrastinated that so much. Everybody's like, you have to get them on the bottle like by six weeks or whatever people say. But I was like, but it's going well and my supply is good.
Carrie:And like, I don't wanna skip a feed and pump. I just didn't want to.
Holly:And now, like, the logistics of having to have the toddler and then thinking about pumping and then, you still have to feed them. So you gotta pump and then feed. Like, that part stress is is harder to me Mhmm. Than just like throwing around
Carrie:Have you had smooth breastfeeding experiences both times?
Holly:Yes. With Landon, we had to work very hard. He had a horrible latch right off the gate. Like, we had to syringe feed him. I was like hand expressing colostrum in the hospital and like feeding him with a syringe.
Holly:And luckily, we worked with a lactation specialist which is always my number one piece of advice if you want to breastfeed.
Carrie:Mhmm.
Holly:I think just like having the tools and the people who like know that skill in your tool belt to like ask to come over is like so important. So I'm actually working with the same girl this time, but as soon as she was born within the first hour, I mean, perfect latch. So, like, that was just totally different. And it's funny. Like, I haven't done anything different.
Holly:Like, I did the same thing both times. It's just two different babies.
Carrie:Like Yeah.
Holly:They're taking differently. But, yeah, I had a great journey with Linn, and I would say it got, like, really easy after, like, the first eight to twelve weeks with him, and then it just kinda became like, okay. Like, we got this. This is not like, yeah. It was just easy for me, but that's not everybody's experience.
Holly:But I just found that it worked for us.
Carrie:I love hearing that. That's really encouraging because I had so with my son, he had a tongue tie right away. Okay. So but he was kind of like Madison, like he latched really well right away. And I felt super grateful because my mom hadn't breastfed.
Carrie:So she was like, okay, can't really help you here. But we had, I just happened to be like one of the girls at the hospital that the lactation girl, like every time she did her round, I was about to feed him. So I got so much help and I was so grateful. And so we had this like really blissful few weeks but immediately the pediatrician was like, his was to the tip of his tongue. So they're like, you're gonna wanna fix that ASAP.
Carrie:And anyway, so then from there, just personally speaking this over other moms because a friend of mine right now is like going through the process with a tongue tie and nursing on the other side and you can do that. I just didn't have the greatest experience with the re like after the procedure, it just kinda never worked again. And I really pray about the next round because I really loved my month of nursing. When it works, like you're saying it's easy. If there's ease, it's really enjoyable.
Carrie:And then I also experienced without the ease where you're doing weighted feeds and everything's wrong and the supply is dipping because they're not able to pull and it can be Breastfeeding can be so it's crazy the way every woman with every baby can have a completely different breastfeeding experience. But I love hearing positive ones. So please, yeah, it is. It is. Yeah.
Carrie:And with her,
Holly:I mean, it's so true. Like every baby is different. You never know how they're gonna take and like you think you're doing one thing and then you switch it up and you're like, wait, this was just working. Like, kind of have to readjust as they get older. But with her, it's been like no problems.
Holly:And I my goal is always to nurse for a year, but we'll see.
Carrie:Yeah.
Holly:Like, readjusting always because you never know.
Carrie:Absolutely. Okay. I wanna talk gear for a second. So what would be your biggest piece of advice? Like, what is the gear that you've used with both babies that you're like, this?
Holly:A baby carrier and the Duna. Amen to those. I was a Duna hater. Were you? I was.
Carrie:Okay. Tell me more.
Holly:Was a Duna hater. And I had, like, an the a normal car seat. With Landon? Yes. And then I found the Duna unopened, brand new in box, $200 off on Facebook marketplace.
Holly:I was like, never before used in the manufacturer date. You know, we checked all the things. As first time parents, you know, you're worried about everything.
Carrie:You're concerned. Yeah. So true.
Holly:And so we bought the and we used it a couple times. I'm like, this is amazing. The the convenience. And I do think it depends on your lifestyle. But we're, like, in and out of places, like Mhmm.
Holly:Pretty quick. So love the Duna. Also, we talked about baby wearing. I wore Landon 15 when he was 15 old with a big old belly, backpack carried him through the airport when we were love flying.
Carrie:A baby carrier. Love a baby I still carry him and he's only 13, 14. And people are like, he still likes that, he
Holly:likes He in the carrier still.
Carrie:Okay. Yeah. He likes it and it is so practical. I can't even imagine when there's numerous babies. I've told people that too.
Carrie:Highly recommend.
Holly:It's worth the money. Like, investing in a high quality carrier that you like and that it just makes your life so much easier.
Carrie:Maybe you use both. I did both. But, like, wrap or carrier or both? Both. Okay.
Carrie:I do both I have like
Holly:I love the Solly Baby. I have the maybe carrier, the Arty Pops carrier. I have like and I honestly because I use them so much even with one, even more so with two
Carrie:Mhmm.
Holly:I've you know, you kinda grow your collection, honestly. And I leave them all over. Where are my hot spots? I have like one in my room, one in my car, one in the kitchen because like you always need one in the kitchen.
Carrie:Okay. I saw your husband. You you posted this the other day of like he's like, you have an addiction to like all the all the stroller situations. So what strollers do you guys like or do you use a lot of strollers? Okay.
Carrie:So because the video looked like a lot of strollers.
Holly:It was a lot of strollers. Some of them were gifted. Some of them were from the from our registry with one. Now, obviously, having two. Yeah.
Holly:It changes it. Our number one stroller that we use though is the Zoe twin double stroller now.
Carrie:Heard great things about that.
Holly:Love love love side by side stroller. Mhmm. And then I guess the Duna counts as a stroller. I don't know. Stroller I think
Carrie:it does. Stroller car seat. Yeah. A little hybrid.
Holly:Yeah. And then we have like a little toy push car that Landon likes. So like, I guess technically that's a stroller. Yeah. We do have a jogging stroller which like Mitch will take it on runs and it has like the nice
Carrie:suspension or nice. We just got a nice jogger. Yeah. And my friends all thought I was pregnant because I like I had a double. Because I was like, well, eventually.
Carrie:Worth it. And so, for a while, were few weeks where my friends were like, she's totally pregnant. And then obviously I'm I'm not. And they finally were like, dang it. We thought we had you.
Carrie:We saw that box in your garage.
Speaker 3:I thought you were hiding it.
Carrie:I was like, no, I'm just smart. I'm just thinking ahead.
Holly:No. A
Carrie:100 You know, it's such a strollers are so expensive. It's like if, know, Lord willing, we'll have more. So like, honestly, in the meantime, it's like for his little toys, for his little snacks.
Holly:No. A 100%. Yeah. I will say most of my strollers were all bought secondhand. And I've since gifted them to friends and family That's smart.
Holly:Needed them and stuff. But Facebook Marketplace Marketplace. Yeah. They're gonna get ruined, not ruined, but they get dirty.
Carrie:They do. You don't need something that
Holly:you don't need new in my personal opinion.
Carrie:You know, it's funny you say that because I've been thinking lately, got that, that was a gift from my mom. So was like, this is awesome. We boxed, unboxed it. And I started thinking about all of the strollers, car seats, everything we have that now just looks fake worn. Like we're taking good care of it, but it's a kid, like you said.
Carrie:And it was making me think the other day when we were like looking at the new jogger. This is so nice that it's so new. It's not gonna stay new. And like we don't for the next baby, like you don't have to have brand new. Like, you can do secondhand.
Holly:We do so much secondhand.
Carrie:Yeah. It's like, you know, you don't want secondhand maybe I don't know. I don't even know what would be like, try to think of something that I would not get secondhand. I don't even know what that would be. There's so many things that-
Holly:We don't do secondhand cups
Carrie:Okay. Yeah. Stuff like that. That's I'm gonna buy those German I'm
Holly:gonna buy that new.
Carrie:Yes. I don't
Holly:know. Yes. I totally I'm little nervous about that.
Carrie:Yeah. That's kinda ick. But other than that, a wrap and all that stuff, like Oh, yeah. Use wraps, use clothes. I am
Holly:a sucker for a good consignment store or like consignment that pop up, like the little Yes. Local pop ups that happen. Mhmm. I am there. I'm there.
Holly:I love that so much.
Carrie:That's so good. Okay. Question. What would be something about you as a mom that would maybe be surprising to people?
Holly:Maybe that maybe something that would be surprising is that I used to be very type a and I've completely turned type b as a mom.
Carrie:Really? That's surprising to me.
Holly:Complete opposite. Okay. Tell me more. Used to be and I still am in some regards. Like, Mitch in Mitch and I's life, like, our family Apple calendar, like, runs our life.
Holly:So, like, I'm pretty type a about, like, our family calendar. Like, we gotta be in sync.
Carrie:Okay. Same. Yep. We just learned calendars. It's the best thing that ever happened to us.
Carrie:The best.
Holly:Mhmm. No miscommunication. Is it in the calendar? Yeah. He wants to golf?
Holly:I always say, please, three days notice in the calendar. I gotta prepare. But since becoming a mom, I think you just realize, like, there's so much that you can't control.
Carrie:Mhmm.
Holly:So I have, like, loose ideas in my mind of how I'd like it to go, but, like, they're babies. Like, a baby's gonna baby, a toddler's gonna toddler. You gotta give it up at some point. Mhmm. So I'm just like, I I try.
Holly:And if it works, awesome. If it doesn't, I like I used to get so, like, ugh, this isn't happening my way, my plan. Like, I had it all planned out. And I'm like, you just you really can't do that as a mom. But maybe that's surprising because maybe I think a lot of people think that I'm very type a or, like, you know, put together and I'm like, no.
Holly:I don't I don't know what I'm doing.
Carrie:Well, I was gonna say, I think that's what's really refreshing about your page is that you're you're this like beautiful young mom who obviously, I'm sure a lot of people follow you and like, oh my gosh. Like, I wanna I wanna be like that. I wanna have a family like that. Because you know, it's social media and people can do that. But I really appreciate the fact that there can be a culture on socials of making people feel like people are perfect.
Carrie:Especially in the mom influencer call, think there can be a lot of the shaming the this is the only way to do it or the you only post when you look insanely aesthetic and perfect and all that Far from it. Perfect. Right? Same. And so that's what I love about your heart and your page is that Thank you.
Carrie:You're willing to share like, you're a beautiful girl. So it's like, you're willing to share when you look so cute and like, you washed your hair. And then also you're willing to share when you didn't wash your hair and you're in, you know, like it's just, it's real. So I appreciate that. And I love that.
Carrie:Yeah, just that you shared that and that's encouraging to me because I'm working so hard right now on like releasing. I didn't know I was super type A till I had a kid. And I was like, why am I so hung up? I'm like, he didn't take his perfect naps today or his schedule. And now I'm finally, over a year in realizing, babe, haven't I gotten better on like, if he naps, he naps?
Carrie:I feel like I've changed. It's so it's so freeing.
Holly:It is. You just like have to give it up. You're like again, it goes back to like what the only thing that you can control is yourself
Carrie:Yes.
Holly:Like, and your attitude. And Mitch always says like, you're like or we always talk about how, like, you set the mom, I feel, like, sets the temperature of the home. Like, your attitude is is kinda gonna depend on, at least in our house, like, much Everybody
Carrie:feeds off of it.
Holly:They totally feed off of you. So I'm like, always take a deep breath. It's fine. Move on. Tomorrow's a new day.
Carrie:It's so good. It's so good. Okay. So with your with your page and with everything that you do, you have just adorable, awesome life giving content. What was your heart behind that?
Carrie:Like, what I don't know. Like, what how long have you been doing this? And like, just I guess share a little bit about moms that that follow you. Like what is your is your why, I guess?
Holly:Yeah. I mean, honestly, my why is just to encourage other moms that your life doesn't stop when you have kids. Like it Mhmm. Just looks but it doesn't stop. I started posting content when Landon was like three months old, so January 2025.
Holly:So last year.
Carrie:Okay.
Holly:And I literally just made a new Instagram. I've been a consumer of content, content creators, influencers, whatever you wanna call it
Carrie:Mhmm.
Holly:Since I was a little girl. I mean, my mom and I follow, like, all the, you know, people who have, like, these millions and millions of followers, and I love watching their stories and videos, and I learned so much from them, hacks, products, things that I literally was a consumer of. Order, buy, and some of the products still use today. Yeah. Now I share them, like share some of them too.
Holly:So cool. But I was like, Mitch and I were really praying so at the time I was working a corporate job. I was on maternity leave still. So I had some extra time on my hands. Obviously, I had a newborn, a three month old, so I don't know how much extra time, but I wanted something to, you know, help me still be me, like be creative, have a creative outlet, whatever.
Holly:And simultaneously, I had two more months left of my maternity leave, and Mitch and I were really just praying for a way. The goal's always been for me to be a stay at home mom, but we just didn't know how we were gonna make that transition and, you know, when that timing would work. So we were praying for a way just like the the Lord would open an opportunity for me to be able to quit my job and kinda pursue something else, but we didn't know what that was gonna be. And at the same time, I started this Instagram page. I had no followers.
Holly:My grandmother followed me. And I was posting stories and whatever, literally like I had followers. I just would talk about whatever. It's literally not changed at all. It's funny.
Holly:I like went back and watched some That's so sweet. I love that. Back. And I'm like it's like the same thing. I was like, I'm just gonna talk and if people follow, people will follow.
Holly:Yeah. And if not, not I didn't tell any of my I told maybe a couple friends. I was like, I'm gonna try posting online and they're like, okay. Yeah. Like, you'll see if you stick with it, you know, everybody tries for a period of time or and so I just stuck with it.
Holly:I became like really it became so fun for me. It still is so fun for me. I love it. Like talking with all these other moms, honestly, like, having this little community. It feels like truly that I know so many, like, some of the same names pop up and I'm like, oh, yeah.
Holly:Betsy. Oh, yeah. You know, Hannah. And just, like, going through motherhood with other people. Motherhood can be so isolating, I feel like.
Holly:And so many moms just crave other, you know, people in the same stage of life. So true. So, yeah, I just started posting, continuously posted on Instagram, started to gain followers. I was like, wow. This is kind of weird.
Holly:I didn't expect it. Like, that's the goal, but you're like when it's happening, you're like, oh my goodness. I don't know what's going on. You know? Had a couple videos go viral actually traveling with And that's kind of what my page really was known for in the beginning was like traveling with a baby, tips, products, tricks, what I learned because I was doing everything for the first time.
Carrie:Yeah.
Holly:And so, yeah, I just kinda took off from there and I was, like, trying to figure out what do I post? Like, what do I share? How do I you know, I'm watching all these other people do it. I'm like, I can do this. Like, I'm gonna keep trying and yeah.
Holly:It's crazy. I I truly say when somebody says like, how did you do this? I'm like, I didn't do it. It's all the Lord. There's no way that this should have worked or
Carrie:Yeah.
Holly:I can't believe that this has become my job now. It still feels surreal. Like, Mitchell will be helping me film a video or take a picture for me, and I'm like, I'll just sit there and be like, how is this my job? It's been such a blessing It's so cool. Our family.
Carrie:I love that so much. Thank you for sharing that because it's super inspiring. And I think there's so many moms. I was talking to a sweet friend about this the other day and it certainly doesn't have to be social media. There's so many creative things.
Carrie:Could literally be it could be anything. I think hobby, whatever that looks like. But I appreciate you sharing your story because we were talking about it and she was saying, I'm struggling with being just a mom, but I love being a mom. It's not just a mom is enough. Like she knew that.
Carrie:She knew her identity and she knew her identity in Christ. She's like, I just want something that just is fun. Like, and I'm like, yeah. Because she doesn't have hobbies right now and stuff. And so anyway, we were talking about what that looks like and and talking about socials and sports and there's all these different things you could do creatively.
Carrie:And so I just think that's an encouraging story to share. Not that everyone has to specifically post on Instagram or become an influencer, but just that like you you found something that you can enjoy and that works for your lifestyle so you can stay home with your kids. Mhmm. I just think it's a really encouraging story and And if moms are thinking about it or praying about it, you know, it's something that can happen pretty quickly. Like you just said, like that was it's not like it was a ten year journey, you know, the Lord just kinda breathed on it.
Holly:I started posting in January, went back to work in May. So a year Mhmm. Ago, two months ago. Ended up going back to work for ten weeks. I was having to travel a lot.
Holly:I worked in sales. I worked from home most of the time, but traveling was starting to pick up. I was trying to exclusively nurse. There was like a lot of logistics and just pressure being in sales and stuff. And Mitchell and I kinda like prayed about it and honestly took the leap of faith and we were like, I'm gonna go all in and I'm gonna do this to the best of my ability.
Holly:And we'll see where it takes us and, you know, willing to make sacrifices. We made a lot of sacrifices for me to be able to stay at home. And ten weeks later, I left corporate, and then I've been doing this ever since. That was in my last day of work was last June, so July. Yeah.
Holly:This time last year was my first full time month as a stay at home mom.
Carrie:Wow.
Holly:And then now obviously having two babies, I'm like, the last two years feels like just the biggest gift from the Lord, honestly.
Carrie:That's so beautiful. Okay. I'm gonna I have a couple I prepared a few would you rather, like, fun mom questions for us. So I'll answer these two because they're funsies. So let's see.
Carrie:Would you rather have more time or energy during this season of motherhood? Time. Same. Time, a 100%. Do you feel like you can't get it done in a day?
Speaker 3:No. There is not
Holly:enough hours. Even if I stay up late or wake up early, I'm like, I don't know what
Carrie:just happened. I feel the exact same way. I'm like, my energy level I mean, I don't have a newborn, so my energy level is fine, but I always feel like I'm like, dang it. It's 9PM again. Dang it.
Carrie:It's 10PM again. What? I have so many more things on the list.
Holly:100%.
Carrie:I feel that. Okay. Would you rather wear leggings every day or never get to wear leggings again?
Holly:I love leggings. Leggings every day.
Carrie:I'm gonna go I've I don't know if biker shorts count. I'm gonna say they don't.
Holly:Okay.
Carrie:And I've been into biker shorts. So I'm gonna release the leggings and say that I'm never gonna wear them again. But that would be really hard because I do love my leggings. I'm thinking about winter here too.
Speaker 3:Yes. Winter is
Holly:that and a sweatshirt, I'm like, that's my outfit staple.
Carrie:Yeah. Honestly, that's tough. Okay. Would you rather lose your phone for a day or lose your baby stuffed animal at bedtime?
Holly:My phone.
Carrie:Yeah. Same. That would be catastrophic.
Holly:I can't mess with the animals. Bear. Does he have a specific Oh, bear, the octopus. Yeah. Like I said, he's obsessed with Nemo, so my mom just got him a Nemo.
Holly:Oh. So
Carrie:yeah. That's so cute.
Holly:He sleeps with, a million in his
Carrie:That is so funny. I think Arch is gonna be similar because he right now, it's just doggy. Cute. Just one. And it's bigger than him.
Carrie:It's cute. He picked like the biggest one ever. Yeah. It's so freaking cute. Okay.
Carrie:Would you rather have a weekly massage or a monthly solo hotel stay?
Holly:I think a weekly massage. Because I like little spurts of time to myself. Don't really like being by myself for too long. I don't like being away from my family.
Carrie:A hotel stay without my husband for a couple days, I'd be like, what am I doing?
Holly:Yeah. What are we? I wanna be with my family. Let's go get coffee.
Carrie:Put a massage on-site. I'm like, can I add my spouse to this? Yeah. Can we do a date night getaway for a weekend? Okay.
Carrie:And then this is just kinda some like rapid fire silly ones. But baby giggles or baby cuddles? Cuddles. Yeah. Me too.
Carrie:My baby doesn't wanna cuddle very often. I'll miss it. Homemade baby food or store bought?
Holly:Store bought. I thought I was gonna be homemade. I feel that.
Carrie:There's just like not not enough time.
Holly:No. Not enough time.
Carrie:Target Run or Amazon delivery?
Holly:Both. But I like getting out of the house, so Target Run.
Carrie:Mhmm. Mhmm. I'm Amazon Delivery because we're sharing a car right now. So when he's out of here, I'm trapped. So Amazon's my best friend.
Carrie:But Target's really fun. I do love me too. A Trader Joe's girl. Like, I like our outing, our like fun outing is I'll be like, Archie, we're gonna go to Trader Joe's and he loves it. But I need to add Target into my list.
Carrie:Okay. Baby carrier or stroller? Carrier. I'm Stance free. Yeah.
Carrie:Strap them on. Best. Coffee or sleep?
Holly:Coffee. I can survive off of little sleep, honestly. Yeah. I don't go to bed. So she goes to bed at nine, and then I go to bed between, like, midnight and one.
Holly:Oh. And then she's up between four and five right now. She's sleeping, like, really well. We'll see. I'm sure it will change tomorrow.
Holly:Yeah. And then up for the day at like 07:38.
Carrie:And you do fine?
Holly:Oh,
Carrie:yeah. That's amazing. That's a superpower. That really is. I I
Holly:I haven't been tired this postpartum. I don't know. Really? I really haven't.
Carrie:Let's go.
Holly:Maybe it's adrenaline. Yeah. You're still going to Yeah. The I think that's right.
Carrie:You're right. Pumping or washing bottles?
Holly:Pumping.
Carrie:Mhmm. Yeah. I
Holly:I throw everything in the dishwasher.
Carrie:I do the dishwasher too. Is that okay? Is that a thing?
Holly:I don't I think think it's controversial.
Speaker 3:Okay. Well, here we are. I do the same thing.
Carrie:I'm gonna say washing bottles because pumping was the death of me.
Holly:I did
Carrie:not like pumping. I did not my body was like
Holly:It's hard. Nursing, fun. Pumping, tough. I think exclusively pumping is harder than nursing.
Carrie:I totally agree with you on that. Oh my gosh. My friends that exclusively pump for a year, hero. Hero status. Get up in the middle of the night and not get the baby cuddles, but just have to like use a machine.
Holly:Mhmm. You're literally a cow.
Speaker 3:Yeah. You're literally a cow. Yes.
Carrie:I could totally agree. Would you rather have Oh, no. Already asked that one. That's all we got.
Holly:So fun.
Carrie:Okay. Last question. And then let you go. Also, she's been an angel.
Holly:Yeah. I'm shocked.
Carrie:Is she always gonna eat?
Holly:She's pretty chill. She's pumped out. She'll sleep like three to four hours at a time. Probably should I wake her don't know. She's in the ninety fourth percentile.
Carrie:I mean, she seems like she's doing fine. She's sleeping at night. Let her go. Okay. So question I wanna wrap with is just what is your is your piece of advice for new moms that comes to mind?
Holly:My biggest piece of advice would probably be that you're more capable of things than you think you are. Like, whatever may seem intimidating. Like, as a mom, I've been saying this to Mitch. I'm like, what am I gonna do tomorrow? I don't know.
Holly:There's no other option. I'm just gonna do it. I'm gonna figure it out. So So I feel like having that mentality, like, is just have a I can do it. I'm gonna do it because there's no other option mentality has really helped me when I'm feeling overwhelmed or,
Carrie:how am I gonna get all
Holly:this done? How am I supposed to nurse the baby while putting the toddler in the crib? I don't know, but I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna figure it out.
Carrie:That's really good. That's really good. I need to hear that. Love it. Okay, Holly.
Carrie:Well, this was so much fun. Thank you for being here. Thank you, Madison, for being such a little angel. Yeah. Absolutely.
Holly:We call her Angel Baby.
Carrie:Oh, she's so sweet. And also, what's your Instagram so I can chat
Holly:you out? Okay. It's holly k fisher underscore.
Carrie:Holly k fisher underscore. Give her a follow, guys. Seriously, she's so life giving. And, yeah, thanks
Speaker 3:for being on. This is so fun.
Holly:For having me. This was so fun.
Carrie:That was such a fun conversation. I love getting to have moms on the podcast that I don't know very well yet because it genuinely feels like a coffee date in the best way. Holly is so refreshing and her posture of surrender is really inspiring to me. I love what she shared about her mindset being every day, I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but I'm gonna do it. I feel like I'm definitely gonna be taking that into my week and hopefully past that.
Carrie:I think that's just such good advice for us as moms. If you don't follow her yet, all of her socials are gonna be linked in the show notes. And as always, I just wanna thank you for listening today. I know how busy mom life can be and I'm truly so honored that I would get to be a part of your day. If you enjoy the show, make sure you subscribe and leave a review.
Carrie:And if this episode encouraged you or sparked any thoughts, DM me or leave a comment. I really love hearing from you. Bye, Mom. See you next week.
