The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities has announced that Scotland’s very first Levelling Up Partnership has been selected.
Having chosen Dundee as the first place to benefit from a major programme of tailored regeneration, the partnership will see £20 million being used to reduce inequalities in Dundee, with this being achieved by the attraction of investment and improving opportunities for local people.
Levelling Up Partnerships were launched in the government’s 2023 Spring Budget, with them offering bespoke pr
ogrammes to drive regeneration in communities that have been previously ignored.

After being re-elected last weekend, the Mayor of West Yorkshire has confirmed that an investment package will be committed to making ‘life easier for those who find it the hardest.’
People who struggle to secure good employment due to their age, health condition, disability, or personal circumstances are being supported by a near £10 million investment package, which follows the mayor’s election pledge of building a region of learning and creativity.
Investment will be part-funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, as it aims to support the reduction of inequality, growing the economy, and confidence boosting throughout communities.

London Councils has announced that it has launched a consultation over the future of its Grants Programme.
People and organisations from across London are being invited to give their views on the next phase of the programme, which works to bring the capital’s boroughs together and support crucial public services. The programme is jointly funded by the City of London Corporation and the boroughs themselves, with both coming together to decide on its priorities.
The period that is being consulted on is the fund running from 2026 until 2030, with the current phase contributing more than £6 million to stop people becoming homeless, as well as those who at risk of facing domestic and sexual violence.
