What is Beek on being?

A podcast on shared humanity; discussing personal and professional perspectives. From serious to silly to sublime, coming from kindness and curiosity, it is all about connections.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Hi, I hope you're well. Podcast is a place for people to share personal and professional perspectives to talk openly and to ask questions. From serious to silly to sublime, it's all about communication and connections, Always coming from a place of kindness and curiosity, we talk about shared humanity, discuss ideas, and highlight people creating a better world. We've got to keep learning, keep growing, keep being. I'm Melissa Shere Beek, and this is Beek on Being.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Wait. I'm laughing so hard. I forgot to finish my intro. Oh my g-d. This is Beek on being a SISTER SESSION with our special guest, MASON.

Melissa Shere Beek:

So excited

Melissa Shere Beek:

This is a special treat for our viewers, our special guest appearance by MASON. This is the blondie's husband. He loves to get a shout out on the SISTER episode. So much so that I gave him choices on ideas that are coming on, and he decided instead of anything else, he wanted to be a part of SISTER Sessions too. I love it.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

He crashed our party

Melissa Shere Beek:

He crushed our party, but I think he's here to be validated because I think he wants people to see that the experiences that he says he has, know, daily. They're like the real deal. No. That they're absolutely true.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, yeah. He's out there telling people.

Mason Sharpe:

I also wanna point out my side.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh. Oh, that's

Jessica Shere Coggins:

gonna be good too.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Defense. Okay. So he's here to confirm stories and get the inside scoop and to defend

Mason Sharpe:

Yes.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Himself. But first, I wanted to start about really the reality of you marrying into a very matriarchal family. Because so Doug had an older sister, which I thank God for every single day. And and he he met Sam and Jess when they were, like, 13 and 16. And so he and he wasn't fazed by them.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He wasn't fazed by what his sister did. He wasn't fazed by our daughters or anything like that. And even when Stella when Doug would fall asleep, you know, and Stella would do a full face of makeup on him, and he would wake up and go into whatever city we were going into, like, totally made over. Nothing fazed him. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But you you had a brother. You did not you did not come did not come from a world of women like this. So we wanna know since you didn't come from, like, a long line of loud mouth, strong opinion, unedited unedited, unfiltered women. I can't wait. All of us, we we have some questions.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

You didn't prep. Are you ready?

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. Go for it.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

No. He got no prepping everyone. Do you

Melissa Shere Beek:

have anything you wanna say before we start?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

How much you love me?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

How great of a family we are.

Mason Sharpe:

This just feels like normal.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

And I'm your favorite sister-in-law.

Melissa Shere Beek:

This is normal.

Mason Sharpe:

I used to this. This is like starting off when I first got into the family, obviously, it's a little different.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Right.

Mason Sharpe:

You know, because you guys don't come usually like one at a time. You do as a group.

Melissa Shere Beek:

A package deal. And

Mason Sharpe:

then like, depending on what you say, this one sister and the other sister's aware and they'll report you like, do you believe that Mason said this? And then and then they come back and they question you. It's

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's a lot.

Mason Sharpe:

So this year, I only got three of you. So this is this is Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

So this is much calmer Yeah. Situation. Yeah. So I was gonna ask you, what was your initial thought about all of us when you first met Sam?

Mason Sharpe:

I was trying to think, like, when is the first time I met all of you together? I don't really remember, but I'm just trying to think in pieces. I really didn't have a problem. I know that we went to, like, a lot of family events where, like, it's not just you guys or your immediate family, but you also have your little aunties and stuff like that and their family and their kids too. So

Melissa Shere Beek:

It was aunts, cousins, grandmothers, grandmothers, grandmothers, auntie Joe, auntie Yeah. Oh, yeah. The Tantas . Yeah. Extended family.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. And we had for some reason, we always had these events and we I would see all of them and all you know, like 12 of them, all huddled up and they interview you

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

Until you get certain answers out of you and stuff like that. So I was bombarded. But I mean, the toughest one is your mother.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Absolutely. Like

Mason Sharpe:

what happened after we got married, but I can say that for later on.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. Yeah. Please do. We want the dirt on that too. The first time I remember all of us being all in your business is when you had an accident

Mason Sharpe:

Oh, yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

With the elbow to the head. And I called a friend of mine to

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

What what oh. Can't say his name. I forgot his name the other night.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. I couldn't remember.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Cassel. Cassel. Yes. He was wonderful. John Cassel.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Amazing. Love him. Right. So he came to, like, do plastic surgery on your face. And I just remember you were in the hospital bed and

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I don't think I was around.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Showed up. You weren't there? Oh, it was me and Sam and mom and, like, cousins and aunts and grandparents and your parents and everything like that. And I remember you were laughing because I think all of us were talking at the same time over your head, over your face, looking at your eyebrows.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. Couldn't really move around. And I just had everyone, like, behind me and on the side talking about giving different opinions. And it's, oh my god. Look how bad

Melissa Shere Beek:

it is. Well, your head was dented in.

Mason Sharpe:

Well, that's what happened. It was at University of Miami. Yeah. And I I was playing basketball and someone with a sharp elbow hit me right in the forehead. And I had I called Samantha.

Melissa Shere Beek:

And I said, Samantha,

Mason Sharpe:

I got a dent in my head. And she's like, stop playing around with me. Like, seriously, like I'm

Melissa Shere Beek:

like Was it bad? It was so bad. My friend was a dentist. Surgeon. He just sat in his face.

Mason Sharpe:

Fractured my front door.

Melissa Shere Beek:

That's the way you are. Okay? So, you

Mason Sharpe:

know, it makes sense.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I'm just kidding. I adore you.

Mason Sharpe:

I'm kidding. So I actually it was at Um's, like, health center. Yeah. And I was over at the front desk.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I had

Mason Sharpe:

a the wellness center, I had to hand the phone over to someone else to call Tell her that I have a dent in

Melissa Shere Beek:

my head. She's like, yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

He actually does. So

Melissa Shere Beek:

I really I'm

Mason Sharpe:

like, I had to go

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Were you

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

married at the time? No. We nobody got engaged right after because he was afraid he was gonna be we'll tell them the story.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, thought you're gonna be deformed? Yeah. Didn't know what to expect.

Mason Sharpe:

Is that

Melissa Shere Beek:

why you proposed to her? No. She stuck around. No.

Mason Sharpe:

Because you do this operation and then afterwards, you don't

Melissa Shere Beek:

know what you're gonna do obligated because I brought a plastic surgeon and she got a surgical team.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Nobody else is gonna like him. Yes. That's why I said

Melissa Shere Beek:

that before.

Mason Sharpe:

So who knows?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

He told his mother while he was in the hospital bed, go get a ring.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

He's like, he better go propose. .

Mason Sharpe:

I don't know if it turned out that way. Yes, I was under medication. I

Melissa Shere Beek:

He's bleeding. Okay.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Wait. Somebody was just like, we we just celebrated twenty six years.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I was just gonna say I was gonna wish you both. Last week was a happy anniversary. Twenty six. So that okay. So twenty six years in.

Melissa Shere Beek:

How's it Oh, going twenty seven years How's it going now with you and the family?

Mason Sharpe:

Twenty seven. Well Well, it's been great. Mean, obviously, we've had a lot of changes now with our kids, like

Melissa Shere Beek:

No, don't.

Mason Sharpe:

Being shipped out of the house and stuff like that. But we were just we just had a lovely dinner and someone act and then, like, the waiter was asking us, like, what's the secret?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

No. It was Bria who asked us.

Mason Sharpe:

No. The waiter asked. Bria was with us. Yeah. Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

And then Bria gave the answer for us.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, okay. Oh, what did Bria say? Communication. Oh, communication compromise.

Mason Sharpe:

And compromise. Right? Yeah. But then the waiter was like, oh, that's that's really good to know. He says, like, the last person I asked this question to, like, how many years?

Mason Sharpe:

And they said, like, twenty five. And he said, what's the secret? He goes, being in jail for twenty four years. Oh.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, no. That was funny, though.

Mason Sharpe:

Just started using that. That's pretty good.

Melissa Shere Beek:

So what are your thoughts on the family now twenty six years later? What's that? The thoughts on the family now twenty six years later.

Mason Sharpe:

Oh, the expanded family and

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

some Yeah. Of The rest of us. Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

No issues.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

It's okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. I mean

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

You love that.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

If he did, he's not gonna say them probably.

Mason Sharpe:

No. But, like, I'm like I've been married into your family, like, more than half my life. So like

Melissa Shere Beek:

He knows each of us.

Mason Sharpe:

He does

Melissa Shere Beek:

too. Okay. So what do you think about the sisters? Like, what have you learned from us?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Oh, god.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He takes it deep.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

He's not sure.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He's I

Mason Sharpe:

don't know where to go. Like, I don't know what like, what like, you and obviously, like, all three of you are so different.

Melissa Shere Beek:

And How?

Mason Sharpe:

You don't well No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You don't know? She's just quitting But

Mason Sharpe:

like, Melissa, you're you're the one that's like more level headed, calm. Like, you've never see I've never seen you shout before.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah. I don't yell.

Mason Sharpe:

You're right. Whereas Jessica, a little bit.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But your wife She's your wife is the screamer.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Nobody's talking about us too as sister.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, okay. Sorry. Go ahead. Sister in laws. Why don't you work from us?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Out laws.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Keep going.

Mason Sharpe:

No. There's a lot there's a lot of drama and stuff like that. And there's always something to talk about. Like, you guys never had, like, a family meeting and it's just quiet. It just doesn't happen.

Mason Sharpe:

Right?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

So it won't work that way.

Mason Sharpe:

One of you always has to have some issue that you need your sister's advice. And you and you and you always have different opinions, each of you though. So it's always good. So you get like both sides. So like when Samantha has an issue, you speak to you, to your mom, to Jessica.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Can't speak to mom.

Mason Sharpe:

All three of you have different issues.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Matthew just calls us for for issues dissolving.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, god. That's so funny.

Mason Sharpe:

But Jessica's, like, changed, like, dramatically, you know. Like, because, like, when I met her, it was, like, when you were She still in was

Melissa Shere Beek:

a baby.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Right. Yeah. Was young.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. No kids and stuff like that. And so, like, it's amazing to see how, like, your transformation and stuff like that.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

You. I take it it's a good one. No. It's a great It's very nice.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. So then different from what the sisters taught you, we know Aiden exists, but having daughters, what have People don't know that Aiden exists, though. No. They don't. They don't.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I'm talking about women, and I don't wanna leave out the boys. But, like, what have your daughters taught you? Oh, god.

Mason Sharpe:

Oh, man.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

And they're both so different. Oh, yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. It's really tough to to describe it, like, It's right off the just they're unique. They're unique. They both started off, like, you know, loving drama. They were in Miami Children's Theater.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Right.

Mason Sharpe:

And one feeded off the other one. Stella started it, and then Bria followed her in her footsteps.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Right. Usually what the little sister does.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. And then, I think I don't know if it was when Stella turned 13 or it was before. Stella went into early retirement. She no longer she just said, I'm no longer in drama anymore.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Right.

Mason Sharpe:

And she went off and just relaxed and did her own thing and stuff like that. And then Bria found sports, which I was okay with. Because like with drama, it's I love them being in there, but I don't have like a real connection and stuff

Melissa Shere Beek:

like that.

Mason Sharpe:

That's why had to like take pictures to stay awake.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Right. Oh, the truth comes out. I love that. That's how you got into photography.

Mason Sharpe:

Focus on on the shows

Melissa Shere Beek:

is the fact The shows were pretty bad. Sorry. Oh, not the girls.

Mason Sharpe:

They're crazy. When you're

Jessica Shere Coggins:

watching I loved watching the girls.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Don't get me wrong.

Mason Sharpe:

And the funny ones are really good. Yeah. But then you get some that are very it's like watching Cats, like

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yes.

Mason Sharpe:

Samantha tried getting me to watch Cats. It it was one of the worst things I've ever seen.

Melissa Shere Beek:

She didn't make you watch that role in one two.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I went to it myself.

Mason Sharpe:

She went and went No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Not Cats. This is another one.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

It's the sorry. She called me before she goes

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. No. No. No.

Mason Sharpe:

So but it's hard because each daughter wants you to feel like they're the most important. So there's always times where I'll have, like, Stella telling

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

me There was a time where Stella got ahold of his Instagram page Yeah. And basically went through them all. Brea, Brea, Brea, Brea, Brea, Brea, Brea, Brea, Where's me? Brea, Brea, Brea. Like, his in and and she was right.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Oh, course. Instagram post was Brea.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yes.

Mason Sharpe:

And she

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

was like

Melissa Shere Beek:

Is that because you're at the sports game?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yes. And taking pictures to stay at. Which we tried to explain to her and we say to her

Mason Sharpe:

There's also another reason.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

We say, Stella, it's not always about you. In fact, she wore that shirt for her 20 birthday.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I loved it. She rocked it. She got it that day and wore it, and I loved it.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. I But but the reason why I had all these pictures of Brie and then of Stella Alright.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

There is

Melissa Shere Beek:

a is question. Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

Because I would take pictures of Stella, and every time I'd post it, she'd call me up right dad, take that down.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. That's true

Jessica Shere Coggins:

too. That's It

Mason Sharpe:

is like restrictions. It's impossible to post photos of Stella. Bria was like, yeah, post whatever you want.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. She's a little picky too.

Mason Sharpe:

But a lot

Jessica Shere Coggins:

of

Melissa Shere Beek:

people Not like Stella though.

Mason Sharpe:

So Stella basically put a ban on photos and then she complains, why don't you take pictures of me? Because she wants to be famous.

Melissa Shere Beek:

What have you learned from these two girls?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Oh, we're still learning.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. I don't think anything

Melissa Shere Beek:

That's a good answer.

Mason Sharpe:

Oh, wow. I think I learned also is, like, for Stella. Like, my brother, we used to get in fights all the time.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Uh-huh.

Mason Sharpe:

But we became best friends when I went away to college because I didn't see him as much.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Right. No. You have Shane. Is the relationship more?

Mason Sharpe:

But Stella, it was butting heads with her when she was living in a house in high school and stuff like that. Didn't get a lot of things with her.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

They became best

Jessica Shere Coggins:

friends with someone.

Mason Sharpe:

But when she left for college, it was, you know, she changed.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Well, the dynamic and everything. And she matured. Yeah. She did.

Mason Sharpe:

And Shere was, like, unbelievably, like, so amazing.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, that's nice.

Mason Sharpe:

Samantha went away with Bria and I was just there with Stella. And I'm thinking, okay, maybe I'll just let her do her thing. I'll be up in my room. I'll watch TV or whatever. She's like, oh, dad, come let's watch a show.

Mason Sharpe:

And every day, we watch it was just

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, that's nice.

Mason Sharpe:

Really impressive.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's cool when they get older. Yeah. It's it's good to hang.

Mason Sharpe:

Times where they say they're like, when you when you don't see someone on a daily basis and stuff like that, then you get along better or Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Because you appreciate what you have.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Absent May summer. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

That's what I'm

Mason Sharpe:

looking for. See? I know your stuff. Glad So you're

Melissa Shere Beek:

I'm very I'm very smart. When we talk to each other and when we when we talk, there is no filter between all of us. Like, we say things as they are. Is there were you ever embarrassed about our candidness? Did you ever, like, come into our conversations and be like, holy shit.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I cannot believe that they are talking about that.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh, I probably say

Mason Sharpe:

a lot. I don't know. I have to I don't remember right now. I don't I'm trying to think Do you remember the Do you remember anything, Sam?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yes. Do you remember the time we were at your house and the guys were watching a game? Because it was the old house. So we were all around the kitchen island, and the guys were sort of off to the side watching a game. And it was a soccer game, and one of the guy's things fell out of his pants.

Melissa Shere Beek:

So we were watching it

Jessica Shere Coggins:

One of his things fell out of his pants?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

His penis? That's the only thing I

Melissa Shere Beek:

took from all that. His penis fell out of his pants. Oh, it was? Right. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

So we were watching it on repeat, laughing. And, like, all of us do you remember this?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I remember, but I don't know what house that was in there.

Melissa Shere Beek:

That was your old house. We the one that was closer to me. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I remember that happening. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There you go.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Do you remember that? No. No. He's just not even on the yeah. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Oh, yeah. No. So anyway, I just remember laughing, and we're talking about like, and we talk about things. We talk about penises.

Melissa Shere Beek:

We talk about, like, other body parts. We talk about, like, like, everything out there. And I and sometimes you guys would, like, walk through the room, and then just, like, I would see your eyeballs roll back and then you just, like, keep walking through or you'd go back to where the guys were hanging out. And I wondered if our candid disc just, like, threw you for a loop or you're so, like

Mason Sharpe:

I think the one thing that still amazes me is your shopping math skills, especially Samantha Okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I have that down here.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. And your mother.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Not mine, because I'm not a shopper.

Mason Sharpe:

Because I remember

Melissa Shere Beek:

Your wife.

Mason Sharpe:

Well, no. It was Samantha and and Ruthie.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Uh-huh.

Mason Sharpe:

They were at it was, like, Bell Harbor or something like that, and they were gonna buy something, and they had the the person who's ringing them up said, oh, you have a gift certificate or you have a credit of x amount. Do you wanna use it? And for, like, me, like, okay, if you don't use it now, you're gonna forget it. Use it now. They're like, oh, no.

Mason Sharpe:

No. It's better to save it for a special occasion or when you have something more expensive. Yes. Yes. See?

Mason Sharpe:

I don't get it.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I agree.

Mason Sharpe:

I would use it.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

But but like, maybe you want something bigger and you don't have the money at that point. So use it towards then, then you don't have to pay as much. Maybe they have more money at that point. No.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

It's because you wanna buy a more expensive item, but you don't want him

Melissa Shere Beek:

to know how

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

expensive it is. So you take the credit so he thinks that you really bought a

Jessica Shere Coggins:

stuff. Coming from a true shopper.

Melissa Shere Beek:

This I want you to see in my notes. It says, so Sam when Sam gets into something, she gets into 200%. And that Sam is a super shopper and, like, a big time shopper. And Mason had to explain to her that just because you return things doesn't mean that you have more money to spend in the store.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. That actually happened over this weekend or on Monday when we were over in

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. One time Sam called me and she was really upset. And she started crying because she said she thought that you thought that she was having an affair with the UPS man.

Mason Sharpe:

Oh, yeah.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Did you really? Yes.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He did.

Mason Sharpe:

That's right. But the thing is

Melissa Shere Beek:

Because he delivered. I know. They stood every single day. Then she gave him a holiday gift. But she also gave a holiday gift to, like, the postal guy and, take She was sleeping with all of them.

Melissa Shere Beek:

And then

Mason Sharpe:

I remember too, back in the day in the falls, like, when you take your kids, like, for Halloween

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Oh, god. He still talks about this.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. When you go into the Halloween, you have to go to each store. Oh, jeez. Every store you go into, oh, hi, Samantha. Like, when they they work there and they know you by your first name, it's not a

Melissa Shere Beek:

good sign. That's a problem.

Mason Sharpe:

You know?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. That's a Mason problem. Because your wife is the shopper. Oh, no. He did something really good the other day.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Why? What'd you do, May? What did you do?

Mason Sharpe:

I don't know.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

He found out that Samantha had returned.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh. And so

Jessica Shere Coggins:

he drove her to make sure not to make sure, but keep her company. He

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

made sure.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I thought that was very smart of him. Do you know why he did that? Because like I just said because she won't go return it. No. No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. She'll have credit in the store spend and then spend more.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

No. It goes back to the card.

Mason Sharpe:

Normally, she's embarrassed.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's not how she does it.

Mason Sharpe:

She's embarrassed about doing returns.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Are you killing it? No.

Mason Sharpe:

Well, that's your excuse that you wanted me to go to

Melissa Shere Beek:

the store. No. No. I want you to

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

go to the store because I had an online and an in store purchase. So if you did the in store while I did the online, we would get it done faster.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Oh, that's what we're going with.

Mason Sharpe:

That's where we're going.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But she didn't mention

Mason Sharpe:

which I don't mind returning because that way, at least I'm recouping some money. Right? But she thinks it's like an opportunity to start spending.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Not think she knows.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

This is

Melissa Shere Beek:

just the place in the store.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Yeah. I'm returning, but I also get.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

And I wanna look around.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Not me. I'm not a shopper.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But Mason's point is because you return it doesn't mean you now have credit in the store to buy more and get more things. Return it and get the money back on the credit card.

Mason Sharpe:

That's why I like returning it by myself because it get it it's temptation. She's like impulse buyer. So when she's around

Melissa Shere Beek:

something Next question. Yeah. Okay.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

You that's like your one thing though.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

What? Shopping? Yeah. But

Melissa Shere Beek:

That's okay.

Mason Sharpe:

Other things too. But shopping is okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

We'll get to that later. Okay. Something you still don't get about the three of us that still confuses you?

Mason Sharpe:

I'm not prepared for this. I don't but I don't get

Melissa Shere Beek:

It makes you think.

Mason Sharpe:

I'll have to get back to you

Melissa Shere Beek:

on that. Okay. Give me the

Mason Sharpe:

next question. I'm trying

Melissa Shere Beek:

to Something think that shows that our maiden name is showing up, like there's oh, that's definitely Shere sisters. That's like that's them.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

But last night at back to school night, I used the Shere. Like, I'm one of the Shere girls.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Who'd you say that to? No. But when we're together and we behave a certain way that he definitely says, oh, that's them.

Mason Sharpe:

No. Because you guys are so much different than like, when I think of this year, it would be like your mother. Like,

Melissa Shere Beek:

how much are

Mason Sharpe:

you like your mother?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, god.

Mason Sharpe:

And I don't see it.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Okay. We're all very different.

Mason Sharpe:

That's why I don't really it's not like, wow, that that reminds

Melissa Shere Beek:

me of us. Okay. Okay. So there's there's nothing that you just that you just don't get about us still?

Mason Sharpe:

Don't think he has He

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

has to get us. Like, that's it.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He just goes with the flow now. I feel. I feel like you do go with the

Mason Sharpe:

flow. Yeah. A lot. Like, I I was He

Jessica Shere Coggins:

wants to prove his point.

Mason Sharpe:

Because it's my anniversary or our anniversary is

Melissa Shere Beek:

recently My anniversary is it's your anniversary, man.

Mason Sharpe:

And it's also football season, so I have a nice little story that I had a connection about. And it's dealing with shopping.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. So I can blend it all in.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

He is really good with analogies, I'm not sure how where

Melissa Shere Beek:

this one's gonna go. It's gonna be good.

Mason Sharpe:

So shortly after we got married we got married, obviously, in September. Then, you know, a month later, it's football season.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Mhmm.

Mason Sharpe:

So I'm okay with that. They like, you know, on weekends Who's today?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

You. Me.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. No. It was

Melissa Shere Beek:

My mother.

Mason Sharpe:

On the weekends, apparently, it's meant for shopping, according to her mom and Samantha. So on on weekends for me, Saturdays is college football and Sundays is pro football. So I would stay home. And then apparently, I don't know, out in your family, because your dad used to do it too, that if the women go shopping, the men have to join them.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. I'm not a shopper.

Mason Sharpe:

Didn't understand that. Doesn't happen. So Ruthie and Samantha explained to me, they said, no, when we shop, we need you to go. And I'm like, well, I got football. And she's like, no, I need you to go.

Mason Sharpe:

So I'm forced, because I don't wanna be a bad person. So I go

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I feel like shopping he forced into a lot of things.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I think

Melissa Shere Beek:

so too.

Mason Sharpe:

And then I decided, okay, what I'm gonna be is, is gonna be the biggest pain, shopping, and complaining the whole time. And then at the end of

Melissa Shere Beek:

I'll the trip it this way, they don't want you anymore.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. And Ruthie's like, you are the horrible shopper. I do not want you with us anymore. You're only the kids. So for because before she was telling me, she's like, the weekends are my shopping.

Mason Sharpe:

It is not fair for you to take up a Saturday and a Sunday for football.

Melissa Shere Beek:

She said this shit.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah. She was like against

Melissa Shere Beek:

She would've never pulled this shit with

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

my husband. To pick one or the other.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. Either you're a college fan or a pool fan. You can't both. You can't be Saturday or Sunday. You need to it's one or the other.

Melissa Shere Beek:

That's so funny.

Mason Sharpe:

So I had to ruin her shopping experience, and then I got to stay home on the weekends.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Goal and see. Not footballing. Yeah.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Goal and see. Walks out before he goes to work explaining,

Melissa Shere Beek:

I got football on tonight. I'm like, really? It's so exciting for them.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

My god. It's every

Melissa Shere Beek:

single day. Yeah. They look forward to it.

Mason Sharpe:

They are spreading it out.

Melissa Shere Beek:

My next question was gonna be how do you handle your favorite mother-in-law? Oh, jeez. But that was a prime example.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

That was an old example. Okay. Is there a new example?

Mason Sharpe:

It's changed over time and stuff like that. I guess, before, we used to go to a lot more family events and stuff like that. So we're always around and

Melissa Shere Beek:

Right.

Mason Sharpe:

And and more issues. But now with our kids gone Yeah. And only, you know, one kid remaining,

Melissa Shere Beek:

it's Yeah. The vibe changed a little. Yeah. Yeah. Think I mean, there's less of us getting together.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. But between him and mom, regarding your question. Okay. Think Mason now, like,

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Dad's knows to play a not here, so it's like, you know, it's different.

Mason Sharpe:

The one thing I do know that I remember that is a problem for me that I had to get used to

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Is it early dinners?

Mason Sharpe:

No. It's the leaving the dinners part.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh, takes forever. Perfect.

Melissa Shere Beek:

That's your wife.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. She specializes in that.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

She talks to everyone.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Jessica says, I'm out. They she walks right through the front door. I'm out. She doesn't say anything.

Melissa Shere Beek:

And you don't even know she's left until thirty minutes later.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. No. I have to give her a twenty minute head start to start seeing her gossip.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Probably, like,

Jessica Shere Coggins:

a half an hour.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I was gonna say a

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

little longer.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

And if you're at a public event, forget it. You gotta give her, like, an hour warning.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You should've just taken a separate card.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

You were?

Mason Sharpe:

I walked out.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Did? Yeah. I'm so proud of you.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Was that good? Last night when we left back to school night, I I walked right I really did not

Melissa Shere Beek:

stop. Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

Was that accidental or unperfect?

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. I was just

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

getting out of there.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Was good. She's like, bitch, I'm gone. Okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

So what she pulled a Jessica. Yeah. So we're talking about, like, what's normal and not normal. I have something we're gonna do in a minute. But my last question to you specifically is, like, what what is normal in your house that you never thought would be if you heard somebody else say it?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, there must be a lot. Sorry.

Mason Sharpe:

Oh. Sandy, anything? I'm trying to think of

Melissa Shere Beek:

Why you always refer to her to

Mason Sharpe:

I'm to remember, like, what

Melissa Shere Beek:

because he knows I'm in charge of the house.

Mason Sharpe:

But still, they all love watching the reality TV shows and

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay.

Mason Sharpe:

I just don't get it. Like, there's a couple. Fine.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But But I thought you liked the reality shows too.

Mason Sharpe:

Some. But they're they're extremes, especially, like, Stella with her

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Love Island.

Mason Sharpe:

Love Island.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, that shit's ridiculous. Right.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Yeah. My guy doesn't like reality shows either. I'll watch them. He's the

Melissa Shere Beek:

same way. Like, he just

Jessica Shere Coggins:

doesn't understand the point of it.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I'm not a reality show person either. I watch Survivor and I watch

Jessica Shere Coggins:

That's reality. Someone's

Melissa Shere Beek:

leg got chopped off. I the in the other one, then in not the American one. But Oh. But no. That Love Island shit and stuff like that

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I love

Melissa Shere Beek:

it. Talking like the psychological aspects of things. I like Dancing With The Stars though too. So those are two realities. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But I'm And the Great British Bake Off. Those are the only three realities.

Mason Sharpe:

But maybe I should take it back. The reality shows are better because before that, she used to watch the ones about like the how the women kill their husbands with knives and

Melissa Shere Beek:

stuff those are the best.

Mason Sharpe:

Snap. Right? So this is probably safer.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh, Snap was good, but the episodes weren't long enough.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, my god. I don't I've never even heard of that.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Oh, yeah. Those are women who kill.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

It's woman it's like their boyfriend

Melissa Shere Beek:

and partner. What's going on in your house? No. Why is she a much Milo or Mason?

Mason Sharpe:

It's a reality show or better.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Wait. What was the question? I forgot what the question was.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Like, what's normal in your house that you would never think if you heard somebody say, like, that shit goes on? Like

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh my god. I'm sure it's probably so many I throughout the

Melissa Shere Beek:

don't think. Okay. So we have a little game we're gonna play with you. It's about, like, what's normal and what's not normal in your house. I

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

have mine here.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You have yours. Okay. So the first question is Wait.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Is this this?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Yeah. Is this this? Is this this?

Mason Sharpe:

I thought we're all having conversation. I didn't know it was all team up, but

Jessica Shere Coggins:

you guys seem No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

We're not teaming up against you, but we're answering these questions with you and you can answer them too. But we're gonna vote.

Mason Sharpe:

Okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Well, I'm gonna say something and you're we're gonna say if it's a Sammy situation, like something your wife would do or if it's a Mason move or something you would do. Bubba, you can keep talking. Oh, okay. Wait. Did it erase?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Yeah. Of course, it did.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I know. Go for they're not professionally done by Samantha.

Mason Sharpe:

Who made these?

Melissa Shere Beek:

I made these because your wife didn't answer the phone for the last month about it. So

Mason Sharpe:

You only gave her a month to do this?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I only gave her month to

Melissa Shere Beek:

come up with a paddle.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I think I was, like, in denial. You were actually coming on this.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I think she was hoping that you weren't showing, so she didn't have to make the paddles. So you got the dry erase board version. You got the you That's okay.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

These are cute.

Melissa Shere Beek:

They're okay. I figured we could use these in a in another time. I just wait. Okay. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Having a 100 candles stashed hidden all around the house.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

That's Sammy.

Mason Sharpe:

Oh, yeah. 100 That's me. You don't even need my answer. Like, that's Autumn. That I don't get either because we we

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Oh, she has some to

Melissa Shere Beek:

pick up around the corner.

Mason Sharpe:

But when we moved

Melissa Shere Beek:

to the new house, Do you really? Yes. Yes. Oh, my god. Shit, Sam.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I ordered them before the summer. That's what she was calling soy delicious.

Mason Sharpe:

But you know Oh,

Melissa Shere Beek:

I thought you were doing it for, like, some event you were having. I didn't know you needed more

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

for yourself. Big sale and I ordered

Mason Sharpe:

it and I didn't

Melissa Shere Beek:

get shipping.

Mason Sharpe:

This guy

Melissa Shere Beek:

was a

Jessica Shere Coggins:

sale. You

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I saved you on shipping. I said I would pick it up, but I can't pick it up.

Melissa Shere Beek:

This is like six months later.

Mason Sharpe:

When we moved into the new house, one of things we got was Aroma three sixty. So we have the scent throughout the whole house.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I know. I know.

Mason Sharpe:

You don't need a candle because you have the scent. I'm paying for that.

Melissa Shere Beek:

She needs the candles. It's still Yeah.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

But it's not on. I was in

Melissa Shere Beek:

the other day. It wasn't on. By only

Mason Sharpe:

a certain time.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Picked it up yesterday.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's now. Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

But, yeah, she stores it's just like like China. Like, you buy it just to store it.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

That's like what mommy used to do.

Melissa Shere Beek:

She used to buy or get

Jessica Shere Coggins:

things and then give them back.

Mason Sharpe:

And then when she lights it, she likes to light it and leave it on forever.

Melissa Shere Beek:

And when she leaves the house, it's still on.

Mason Sharpe:

It stays stays on.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. That's so dangerous.

Mason Sharpe:

And if I blow it out Oh my god. How can

Melissa Shere Beek:

you When blow it you had cats But did you blow it out? I would smell smoke in your house because there were cats would go by and they would burn their tails.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. That's why they call it cat smoky.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Speaking of China, I'm giggling my ass off because when you went and and I guess you must have been forced to go when you guys were engaged for Oh, god. My god. Remember

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

didn't complain.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Maybe now I understand why you complained. Because Samantha came home and was so upset that the Versace plates that she wanted, you would not allow because it had

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Anna. Bed bugs.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It had a butterfly on it, and you didn't wanna eat on a plate that had bugs on it. I said to you you're not gonna see that. I said to you, you're never gonna see the butterfly on the Versace plate because there'll be food on the plate. But now I understand the reason you were doing those plates? She still has them.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But now, I'm thinking, like, maybe you did this so that you could get out of shopping for the rest of your life.

Mason Sharpe:

No. I wanna I just wanna correct you. Oh. It's not about that the bugs that don't worry about it because there'll be food on the plate. No.

Mason Sharpe:

Those plates are stayed in the in the container. Yeah.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

That's what happens when you use them.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You were against them from day one.

Mason Sharpe:

Though, what's the point? But the thing is now I wanna tell people, when you pick out China, do not base it on what the plates look like. Base it on what the boxes look like, because that's all you're gonna see.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I know. That's true though. That's very true. You're supposed to use it. You should

Jessica Shere Coggins:

use it. When? And you should use it every day. Otherwise, it just sits there.

Mason Sharpe:

I'll try even using a regular, like, ceramic ones.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

She does

Mason Sharpe:

And she said, no. No. We wanna

Melissa Shere Beek:

use Yeah. But you gotta use

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

them up. Otherwise, they sit like that. If I don't like to put things in the dishwasher.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, god. Love paper. Plastic cups and paper. No. I have gorgeous plates I use every day.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I love There's too many transactions in my house.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Like, I need it easy.

Melissa Shere Beek:

This dishwasher, That's super easy. Nah. Don't think I

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

ever turned mine on once.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh my For real? You know what? Okay. When multiple u n UPS trucks deliver thousands of print apple apples. Sam?

Mason Sharpe:

Those apples.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Get off the

Mason Sharpe:

wanna job. Tell the story, Sam?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Sammy Joe.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

That was me, for sure. But you tell that story.

Mason Sharpe:

I just remember she she had this thing like, when she buys something, she thinks you you have to get a lot. Otherwise, it doesn't count. So she bought, what, like a box or two Oh my other brand apples on QVC. Uh-huh. I didn't even know QVC.

Mason Sharpe:

No one goes to didn't know

Melissa Shere Beek:

that either.

Mason Sharpe:

But she finds a way.

Melissa Shere Beek:

This is

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

this is the best story.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Multiply it.

Mason Sharpe:

So she buys a box And I guess I come home, and I see a UPS driver pull up.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

The one she's having an affair with.

Mason Sharpe:

And he brings out

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

They made a mistake. QVC, for some

Mason Sharpe:

reason Supposedly

Melissa Shere Beek:

a mistake.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Supposedly. It could still be on the credit card.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

A one. They did a 100. So basically, they delivered 100 boxes filled

Mason Sharpe:

with Times 10.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Wait. Filled with 10 apples.

Melissa Shere Beek:

10 apples in each box. Yeah. Let's do

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

the math, guys. And they had to deliver them because they're perishable.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Right.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

So sending it back, it would've been gone in the garbage. So I just was like, the the UPS guy literally backed the truck in.

Mason Sharpe:

No. No. Don't say UPS guy. Guys.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

There was several trucks.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Several There in the came Several trucks. Yes.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

And then Draw Delivery men. But they were in our they were stacked in

Melissa Shere Beek:

our and I had, like

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I had to get rid of them in

Melissa Shere Beek:

a car.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

She was calling. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I'm calling. Right? Field Day. We loved them.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah. That was that was great.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Didn't they even give it to the UPS guy? I did. I gave him, like,

Mason Sharpe:

few bucks. Yeah. Yeah. We had neighbors we never met.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I sent them over.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Welcome to the neighborhood.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Yeah. There was

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

an error on QVC. They put in

Melissa Shere Beek:

100. I didn't get charged 100.

Mason Sharpe:

That's what I was worried about.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Said, oh, don't worry about it. Yeah. Sure do that, though? Okay. Thanking everybody for coming to an event when it wasn't their event.

Melissa Shere Beek:

MASON. MASON, MASON for sure. I always throw out of where we are. Thank you for coming. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He always faces it proudly too. He does. Exactly. Like, he's hosted the event. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. Having a barge in Venice cart off your purchases. Having what? A barge? It's gotta be Sam.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Samantha. Yeah. I didn't know.

Mason Sharpe:

No. So when we

Melissa Shere Beek:

were over in Venice picture.

Mason Sharpe:

It said, like, the name of the boat. It said, like, Samantha or

Melissa Shere Beek:

Sammy. Or something.

Mason Sharpe:

Something like that. I'm like, oh my god. You have

Melissa Shere Beek:

a 4,000

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

boxes on it.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh my god. That's so funny.

Melissa Shere Beek:

And he posted a picture, and he said, my wife's purchases being sent home. Yeah. Oh, it's hilarious.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

That is funny. That's a good one. Okay. He's funny. He's very funny.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Ignoring your partner's animal allergies for over fifteen years until the animals pass?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Sammy. Sammy.

Melissa Shere Beek:

The Sammy situation. Because you didn't care that he

Jessica Shere Coggins:

was allergic to the cats.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He was allergic to your cat.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Was allergic to the cats, people.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He just said that, I think.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I don't

Melissa Shere Beek:

Did you just

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

say that?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yes. I think he paid somebody off.

Mason Sharpe:

I thought I was.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, man. I think

Mason Sharpe:

he so I I went to the

Melissa Shere Beek:

The cockroaches.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. Cockroach dander, they said.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

That's what he was allergic to.

Mason Sharpe:

I'm like, come on.

Melissa Shere Beek:

All these years, I thought you were allergic to the cats.

Mason Sharpe:

Oh, but I can't stand them. The the

Melissa Shere Beek:

fur everywhere? Mm-mm.

Mason Sharpe:

Oh. Oh my god. And then you bring him to, like, the vet. I don't know if your your fans I hate are huge fans, that but

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

they shit and say

Mason Sharpe:

I'm like, this is dog. No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's not a dog's pee in your house.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Yeah. But the cat pee is is another level. It smells terrible. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Dog pees

Mason Sharpe:

in it. And she wouldn't clean the the cat litter box.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's just disaster. Oh. That's pretty gross. Samantha. Okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Waiting hours in line at places for the latest Insta's trend. I'm gonna say it's both of them.

Mason Sharpe:

No. No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. It's MASON. I'm It's

Jessica Shere Coggins:

MASON. There's a flippable phone that's coming out. IPhone, he's gonna be the first in line.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Don't kid yourself. Like, all those stupid ice cream places or this one that has the float or the latest whatever. Feel like it's full of shopping. Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

But I do it all online. I never go into she's the one that like, for the for the food stuff, she waits in line. If you're if it's online

Melissa Shere Beek:

gonna say both of you. I'm gonna say both of you. Sam, what's your vote?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I don't know. What he goes along

Melissa Shere Beek:

The with kids. Your kids aren't You're even around still out there in line.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I don't know. Okay.

Mason Sharpe:

We do the line together for Disney where you're stuck in a long way.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, that's ridiculous. Packing as your family is already leaving for the airport. Samantha. Samantha. That is

Jessica Shere Coggins:

and you said It's that's so bad. It's like three hours That's

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

our number one fight. No joke. That, and finding a parking spot. Leaving to God. Go to the airport, he becomes We all do.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. Ask him. It's my husband. Not swear God.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

You're You're

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Probably. Half You're the parties, like, were still setting up when the party was going on.

Melissa Shere Beek:

People have arrived and you are Or still just cooking up a list. And the food will be out.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yes. But going to the airport, he becomes

Melissa Shere Beek:

because you don't pack

Jessica Shere Coggins:

till, like, three hours before.

Mason Sharpe:

And she taught Stella the same thing.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, no. That was

Mason Sharpe:

At least I have Brie on my side and and Aiden, he just gives up.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He's I don't wanna go. Aiden would say that don't wanna go. He's probably I just remember Aiden giving up at one. I think it was outside. We were in an airport.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It was Hawaii, I think. And he was just like, that's it. He He's not gave going to Mexico. And he walked barefoot through the thing, because he was just like, I have given up on my people. That was it.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. I don't blame him. That stresses me the fuck out. It's horrible. When she call we I call to say, like, have a safe trip or whatever, and she's like, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I go, what? And she's like, oh, I gotta pack. I gotta Samantha, your plane leaves in an hour and a half.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah, yeah. It'll be fine.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

It'll be we would be together on Fridays,

Melissa Shere Beek:

and she was leading leaving, like, at a 05:00 play. And she was like, I'm not packed at all. It's 12:15. Oh, see. No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

That shit that's okay. Sorry. I get it, Mason. Okay. Announcing that the dogs have happy peas.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's Mason.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Is it? It's Mason. Okay. Wasn't sure.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's Mason.

Mason Sharpe:

Don't know about that. But if you It's Mason.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Happy pee? Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

Right. I mentioned that

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

That was Izzy. We don't have that anymore.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Aw. You have other type of pee in your house. More pee in your house now. Have pee. Okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Puppy pee everywhere. I can't. Okay. Blaming a family trait on the mother in law's third cousin twice removed. It's definitely MASON.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's MASON. No. No. No. It's not

Mason Sharpe:

I didn't start it. It was your mom.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's TikTok.

Mason Sharpe:

Stella is lefty. And so how does she become lefty? And I learned. I because I didn't realize it. Is that your mom's distant second cousin's friend

Melissa Shere Beek:

was And

Mason Sharpe:

that's how

Melissa Shere Beek:

she got it.

Mason Sharpe:

I had no idea. I thought it was me because I was lefty.

Melissa Shere Beek:

So now every time there's a trait, he's like But it's not from him. Third woman

Mason Sharpe:

Yep. Who put it Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. Because we want you to get the experience of a full SISTER SESSION.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Jeez. These are very oh, this is it for this?

Melissa Shere Beek:

That's it for that. Oh, that was fun. Good question. Now, that's it for the game. Now, we're going to the Beek Bag Okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Where we pick random quickie questions and you have to answer. And you have to answer.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

You have

Melissa Shere Beek:

to answer. So these are not your area like I know it. She does. See? Your wife cheats, just so you know.

Mason Sharpe:

What's that?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Your wife cheats, just so you know. I don't cheat. You do. You put them back in or hide them in the couch cushion.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

She just feels around.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Let Mason start the first one. He's the guest. Your honor. There's a lot in there again.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I know.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It there's I didn't put any new ones in.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah. There has to be.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But there are thousands

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

in there.

Mason Sharpe:

It's like a fortune cookie. Let's see.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Fortune cookie.

Mason Sharpe:

I don't bring my glasses.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

But we all don't answer it.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He does. And We can all answer it. I thought it would take a long time to get Go ahead. Whatever you want. Answer it.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You can be I

Mason Sharpe:

don't I don't even know the answer. Someone you never got to thank.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, god. That's hard.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Okay. Pick another one.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Yeah. You can pick

Melissa Shere Beek:

another one. You'll pull a Sammy Joe. Pass that one. Oh, put that one back in because I know my answer, but we're not gonna go there. Who?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Say it. Daddy. Oh, I think we had this question before. Oh, Hey, Mason. I know.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You can sign. They're coming.

Mason Sharpe:

No. Putting before.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Okay. No. I'm

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Now you know why I'm married to him. He's reading them before he

Melissa Shere Beek:

he's thinking about

Mason Sharpe:

He has

Melissa Shere Beek:

to read them before.

Mason Sharpe:

So it's good. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I was like Oh, no.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I thought I was gonna read it out loud.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I thought she thought

Mason Sharpe:

you would

Melissa Shere Beek:

get it out. No.

Mason Sharpe:

So it says art or artist you gravitate to or are inspired by.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I know this one. Himself? No. Oh, no. It could go two ways.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Pass that one to me. Don't put it back in.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Peter Lick. Pass some more. Peter Lick. I know it's gonna be Peter Lick.

Mason Sharpe:

Peter Lick is something that I don't know if you guys know. Yeah. A photographer that that goes around different places and takes great, like, landscape photos and stuff like that. So, I mean, I don't I don't, like, look at his and then say, yeah, fine, but I I like that type. Then I just found, like, I've gone places recently.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Uh-huh. And he's been, like,

Mason Sharpe:

second none this. Like, even when when we were over in Big Sur, I took a picture of it, and then when I posted it that same day, Peter Lick posted like the same location.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, I saw that actually. It's a conspiracy.

Mason Sharpe:

We don't know what's

Melissa Shere Beek:

going And he's copying you. That's cool.

Mason Sharpe:

And like when we were just over in Utah and then I saw he had photos, like, when I was planning the trip.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Right.

Mason Sharpe:

He had photos there. So it similar locations.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Where's your next trip?

Mason Sharpe:

I don't know. I was trying to think you have any suggestions?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Where do you want to to Australia. You guys haven't been there.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

India. Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

Well, I would love to go to India, but maybe next year, something like that.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, but the summer.

Mason Sharpe:

No. That no. You can't. Because that's the problem.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Because when

Mason Sharpe:

school is out, it's monsoon season. You can't do it. But when we have all our kids deported, we don't have to

Melissa Shere Beek:

worry about Soon. I know. Deported. That's terrible. Don't say that.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. What what do you wanna say?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I sent you

Mason Sharpe:

a ship out

Melissa Shere Beek:

Who's that?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

What's another artist

Melissa Shere Beek:

But but but okay.

Mason Sharpe:

You tell me who?

Melissa Shere Beek:

I thought my dad But that's not bad. Oh, yeah. My dad

Mason Sharpe:

But that was because he's not referring to that. Photography.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Daddy inspires him to photography.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. So when we used do trips, he would take pictures and then I sort of, like, took the lead Yeah. After him and followed in his footsteps Yeah. Just like that. And it's nice because when I take the pictures, especially when we do, like, our family trips

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

That's it brings some

Melissa Shere Beek:

good memories. Insanity. The one How

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

do you survive picking his nose in front of all of us.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I took that. You took that one? I took that one. That one was great. And I posted it, and I Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Said, the best

Jessica Shere Coggins:

That one was great.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Wait. No. Okay. So we didn't even get into family trips.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Oh, let's do that, Spec.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Before we before we continue with the bag, do you have anything to say about family trips? Oh my gosh. When there's, like, 20 of us at one time?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

It's a lot.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. It it there's been difficult parts to it. Are you

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

looking forward to Mexico? Think because we're all grown up.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. No, I like it over there.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But I wanna

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

say, everybody's up. Like, it's gonna be of a

Mason Sharpe:

different Yeah.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Meyer's so excited.

Mason Sharpe:

The hard part is also, so I can throw on everyone in our whole family, it's there's they're they all have differences and things. So it's just like for every family, I think, too. Like, when you have a large group of people and you wanna go eat somewhere, everyone in your family has requirements, you know?

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's very true. Do you remember the lady in Berlin said, it's like herding cats. Yeah. I I can't be You

Mason Sharpe:

know, one's a vegetarian, one can't eat traef, and then your mom always speaks up on behalf of everyone and says, oh, we don't eat seafood.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh, it's like when they come and say, do you have allergies?

Melissa Shere Beek:

And she's like, yes. We don't eat seafood. Right. Okay. But you have to understand, like, when we were in Japan or we're oh, no.

Melissa Shere Beek:

We were also in in Amsterdam. And we ordered from the vegetarian side of the menu.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

She wasn't with us. This was

Melissa Shere Beek:

my god.

Mason Sharpe:

There was photos showing you what it looked like too.

Melissa Shere Beek:

She's and but it said vegetarian. And it said all the vegetarian stuff that was in it. And it came.

Mason Sharpe:

Oh my god.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It was crunchy stuff on top.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

It I I

Jessica Shere Coggins:

What was it?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

It was shrimp.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It was shrimp.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Holly screamed Oh, is that

Jessica Shere Coggins:

when she's like, free the lobsters?

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. No. That

Jessica Shere Coggins:

was prime

Melissa Shere Beek:

one twelve. Oh, Oh, was Hawaii.

Mason Sharpe:

Hawaii.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, no. That was with the pig.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

That was the pig. No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Was in She screamed when twelve. It was just the four of us in Hawaii. She screamed murder.

Mason Sharpe:

Murder. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

In rhyme when twelve, she screamed lobster killer. But I'm a vegetarian too. It's very upsetting. It's so upsetting. And we said it, like, 10,000,000 times.

Melissa Shere Beek:

So, like, I get it. Like, you have to be especially when you're traveling in foreign under that table. We left the luau. Exactly. We left the luau.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

The Amsterdam restaurant. Every time I get it was tablecloth.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I don't blame her. Literally wanted to meet people. I didn't die.

Mason Sharpe:

She wanted to sue them.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Upsetting. We're

Mason Sharpe:

like, we're in a foreign country.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It was so but it was upsetting because we went over, like, 20 times.

Mason Sharpe:

But but it it reminds so now you're refreshing my memory. So there's two things. So so one, it would be we'd go to like a country that they specialize in a certain type of seafood.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh, we couldn't have But

Mason Sharpe:

I wanna eat it.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. No. But you're eating haggis in Ireland.

Mason Sharpe:

Oh, shit.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You're eating it's she's intestine. Nobody wants to eat that for you.

Mason Sharpe:

But I felt You

Melissa Shere Beek:

ate it.

Mason Sharpe:

You and Aiden

Melissa Shere Beek:

But why not? That's what you're there for. Fine. He can have it

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

with the rest of us.

Mason Sharpe:

He can't

Melissa Shere Beek:

you know he's done.

Mason Sharpe:

Say we can't

Melissa Shere Beek:

eat that.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Right. He's grown leaps and

Jessica Shere Coggins:

bounds because it was before she would

Melissa Shere Beek:

be like, we don't eat seafood. And then he'd be like, well and then he would put his hand down. And then, like, over the years, it's like, I do and then finally

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Now he orders what he wants, finally.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. And Aiden, we go to any restaurant no matter where we are, and you guys order what people eat seafood. It's nice.

Mason Sharpe:

Until the other thing too, you've been sticking up for me, but I'm not gonna throw you under, is back in the day, a long time ago, you've changed since then.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Shere. I'm scared.

Mason Sharpe:

You would go to a restaurant and I would order something that has

Jessica Shere Coggins:

something to And

Melissa Shere Beek:

I would Nobody wanted to sit next to me. I would call it out. I would be like

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. I would be away from your mom, so she wouldn't see. I would be on

Melissa Shere Beek:

so You're far ratted on it.

Mason Sharpe:

And she would like Jessica.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Jessica. That's such a third kid. That's What such a are you eating over there? My god. That's such a Mom, look.

Melissa Shere Beek:

That is so bad. I'm so sorry. Don't care what the hell you ate, but it was usually so smelly stinky that I didn't wanna be next to you because my hair smell.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

But I hope cares. Orders, never eats it, and takes it home.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Who? You. Oh, yeah. You return everything you've ever It doesn't

Jessica Shere Coggins:

taste like how I want it to taste.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Returned everything you've ever ordered.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I know. It doesn't taste good

Melissa Shere Beek:

to And then you take it home, and four days later, it's still in the fridge until it's like Yeah. Yeah, rotted.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. But that's better than Samantha because she brings it home, but she doesn't put it in the fridge. So it just leaves it

Melissa Shere Beek:

out. I used to leave things out.

Mason Sharpe:

Like, how

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I used I had to train myself

Melissa Shere Beek:

to put

Jessica Shere Coggins:

it in. Because I'd be like, I'll eat it later tonight.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, no. Because I

Jessica Shere Coggins:

have a problem.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I'm eating it at like two in the morning. Dessert. I'm good about I'm eating dessert too. I come in I'm not sharing my dessert either. I in and

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I think I'm hoping he puts it away from me. He does. He sometimes he does.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. And then if I don't

Melissa Shere Beek:

Then he gets in trouble.

Mason Sharpe:

Why don't you put it away?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yes. So I'm like

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, well, that's your job, mate. Right. I I

Mason Sharpe:

understand Even if we're actually, this weekend, we're we're we bought some stuff for the refrigerator and our refrigerator is fully loaded because obviously, she likes to buy a lot

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

of expired.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. So I told Samantha, I said, you gotta clear out the stuff before we put the news things in. So she's like she's she's I'm trying to help her. So she takes things. She goes, oh, hey, take the lemonade.

Mason Sharpe:

So I take the lemonade. Oh. So obviously, I'm taking it to clear it out and I dump it. And then she goes, where'd put the lemonade? Was a little low.

Melissa Shere Beek:

The whole point of this is it was

Mason Sharpe:

to clear out

Melissa Shere Beek:

the fridge.

Mason Sharpe:

And she says, take the lemonade. And it was supposed

Melissa Shere Beek:

to take it and

Mason Sharpe:

then save it

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

was for just telling him to take it out.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You were just telling him to remove it.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I was gonna make a cup full of myself, and then you could throw away the rest. But he I just hear, See, I'm like I

Melissa Shere Beek:

got I

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

yelled at him. I was like, why

Melissa Shere Beek:

Poor May. Yeah. Oh my god. Alright. Go to the bag.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Who's next?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I will say a lot

Melissa Shere Beek:

of Okay. Go ahead. He like, I think he's I think you're so funny.

Mason Sharpe:

Thank you.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I didn't get it after

Mason Sharpe:

around more often.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

But he says these one liners. It

Melissa Shere Beek:

takes things. It takes me, like,

Jessica Shere Coggins:

a minute sometimes, but they are so funny and so He's got job.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I appreciate it. Zingers. If you're sitting near him, you can hear it.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh, I so appreciate

Melissa Shere Beek:

I guess that I've

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

been married to him for so long of, like, so, like, okay,

Melissa Shere Beek:

here's It's funny though.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

All the girls' friends think that he's hysterical. I'm like, please don't laugh at him.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He is

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

so Like,

Melissa Shere Beek:

when we were on trips, it doesn't like anybody to care. Solo with the three kids. Like, he was our entertainment. Like, it was great.

Mason Sharpe:

I had a great time with your voice.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

They they adore you. It's very funny.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. I

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

think that over the years, they've really SISTER has really come into his own.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's yeah. It's hard. We are

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

a strong force. Think we say all the time. So, like Yeah. As an outsider, it's hard to, like

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, yeah.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Come in. I feel like he's kinda gravitated into. Yeah.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

This is a good one.

Mason Sharpe:

I think also the other thing too is I was afraid at the beginning of giving my opinion.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Uh-huh.

Mason Sharpe:

Because then if it didn't work out, I was one to blame.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh, yeah. Yeah. But I

Mason Sharpe:

there's so I used never

Melissa Shere Beek:

answer the questions now.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

This story. Then finally goes, oh, I see it now. I see what you're saying. I see why you don't give full answers.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Because if he gives an answer

Melissa Shere Beek:

They blame him. Then they yes. They blame him.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

But you told me this.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

yell at me, like, can you just give me an answer? Or can you just give mom an answer? And I'm like, listen, Jess. This is the reason why we don't give answers because it'll come back and be like

Melissa Shere Beek:

Like you told me to do.

Mason Sharpe:

The time it happened was your Uber at Tulane. Right? Yes. It's I

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

was after

Mason Sharpe:

Uber. Outside Remy's.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, for her reservation. Then a time we had

Mason Sharpe:

to get Uber. And it's about whether you get an Uber or cab or Lyft or whatever.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I hired a van from No. No. No. This was I

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

remember this. This is the airport we were going to the rental. This is that No.

Mason Sharpe:

It's from Remi's apartment outside of it.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Oh, was it?

Mason Sharpe:

And we had to go to the hotel or something.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, her house on Broadway.

Mason Sharpe:

So she goes to me and she goes, so do I order Lyft? Or can I order Uber? Should I can you do Uber?

Melissa Shere Beek:

I totally remember this.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

And I'm like, Ruthie, like No.

Mason Sharpe:

Ruthie, go to the app and go she's like, well, can can't you do it for me? Like, I'd rather

Melissa Shere Beek:

not Well, technology is definitely not her thing.

Mason Sharpe:

No. Do I do this or do I call someone? I'm like, just go on Uber. And then Jessica's like, Mason, she just wants you to do the Uber for you. Can't you do it for her?

Mason Sharpe:

I'm like, I'd rather not.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Because the

Mason Sharpe:

reason why

Melissa Shere Beek:

Jessica was mad.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. Because I explained.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

She thought you were being rude. And we're like, listen, we've been down this road so many times that, like, we're not doing this anymore.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Because we I it. If I order it for her

Mason Sharpe:

and it says five minutes

Melissa Shere Beek:

We're gonna get

Mason Sharpe:

and it and it arrives in Yeah. Eight minutes I'm at fault because I screwed up. Or if the driver goes to wrong location or if it's the driver she doesn't like, it's my fault. So if I just stay out of it, then

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

That's what I'm saying.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He's warned over the years. Like, he definitely has. Like, he knows when to stay away and he knows when to chime in to chime in.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. That's why I like when there's, like, computer issues now. I have someone else in the family that will speak up and and volunteer to

Jessica Shere Coggins:

offer Yes. Now you call the kids.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. Well, that's better. No. It's called somebody else. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, I know who. Yeah. I know who. You're a guy.

Mason Sharpe:

I know

Melissa Shere Beek:

who. I know Definitely I not Jessica. I love it.

Mason Sharpe:

I love

Melissa Shere Beek:

him now. So we pass it on to the third was like, why is

Jessica Shere Coggins:

he has another guy to, like, hands

Melissa Shere Beek:

it off to? You know, he never had that.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah. He's just waiting for the blame game to

Mason Sharpe:

be passed. Exactly.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Now I got your back. This is a really apropos. Does apropos mean fitting?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Uh-huh. Appropriate? Oh. It's fitting. Go ahead.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I just got that. No. Apropos is is fitting. Go ahead. Go ahead.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. But I didn't know that was linked to appropriate. Synonyms. Yes. Go ahead.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

What have you stopped apologizing for or need

Melissa Shere Beek:

to stop apologizing for? That's a good one. I'm not gonna

Jessica Shere Coggins:

go there because we go there every time.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You just said you wanted to answer this question.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

No. I just said it

Melissa Shere Beek:

was a good question. I didn't say I wanna answer my god. Jesse, you have to answer it. Go there.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

No. No. It's not.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's things that happened like ten years ago. Oh, that? Yeah.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I'll put it

Melissa Shere Beek:

lightly like that. That perfectly said. Thank you. Perfectly said. Okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Next pick.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

She's not allowed to apologize for it anymore, actually.

Melissa Shere Beek:

There's

Jessica Shere Coggins:

nothing to do apologizing. Not all

Melissa Shere Beek:

of it. Not anymore. What'd you get, Samby Jo? He's throwing it back in?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

No. He's not.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, no. She opened up her mouth.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

She doesn't like this question or

Mason Sharpe:

don't know. Why are you taking it her? Why

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

did you what rewind. What did you learn from someone or something that hurt you?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh. I think I know the answer.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Wait. What did you learn from someone?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Something popped into my head. No. And I wonder if that's gonna

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

be I'm gonna put it I'm gonna do this in a twist. Okay. Oh. There's someone that hurt my child.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, that's not where I thought you were going.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I didn't think she was going there either. Oh. It's okay. Go.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

And I kind of was like it was more of like she was gonna handle it and I wanted her to handle it the way I would've handled it. Mhmm. And she said, no. I'm gonna handle it my way. And she did.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

And everything's great. And I look back and I'm like, god. She was right all along.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Your daughter.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah. My daughter. Mhmm. And it's kind of like I don't know. It's a lesson that I've learned that you gotta step back

Melissa Shere Beek:

And let your kids

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

not knee jerk something and Mhmm. They these kids know what they're doing. Right. As much as I don't think Stella knows what she's doing half the time, she no. She's such a good girl.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Or you let them fall and then they learn.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. And this

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

is this was on her terms. This was her way and it worked out perfectly. Mhmm. And that's

Jessica Shere Coggins:

that's what I'll say.

Melissa Shere Beek:

May, do you wanna answer the question too? No. That makes sense.

Mason Sharpe:

No. Example there.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Get back. No. What if? She sent me.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Sorry. Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

No. It's we're I'm so proud of her

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

How she did that. And and I agree. I'm glad Samantha recognizes this because sometimes I sum up definitely, Samantha, you wanna step in and you wanna defend your kid.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, sure.

Mason Sharpe:

And you and we're the adults, so we're supposed to have all the answers and tell the kids what they're supposed to do.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Right.

Mason Sharpe:

But our kids have reached an age where they're you know, they have their own opinions.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Right.

Mason Sharpe:

Mhmm. Beforehand, when our kids were younger, they might have their own opinions, but it definitely was not the right

Melissa Shere Beek:

Well, they don't always know

Mason Sharpe:

how to But they've matured. And right. And I'm glad that Samantha took a step back. Yeah. Let her daughter take the lead.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I will say one thing totally off the subject. When we went to dinner for our anniversary, Bria said some asked us a question. She's like, what is it what did she what did she ask? What is it one thing that you like about mom and what is one thing mom likes No. About It's good question.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

And she's like, listen, 50% of the people are divorced. Like, what is it? And, you know, I have open talks with the girls a lot. And, you know, we laugh a lot because Mace and I are opposites. There's I mean, we are as I mean, not

Mason Sharpe:

Don't remind me because I I forget

Melissa Shere Beek:

sometimes I don't know if Mace knows what's hitting.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

But in this conversation, I will say that I joke to the kids, like, we're so opposite, but he is my person when like, you know, I have a I

Melissa Shere Beek:

I want an honest opinion.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I will get an honest opinion from him. It won't be my it won't be what I think you guys are so opposite.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, yeah.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I think you work very well together.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

We work

Melissa Shere Beek:

very well together. But I don't think you guys are so opposite. I agree with you.

Mason Sharpe:

But I just let her go.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. That's what I He's learned to bend towards me, man.

Mason Sharpe:

What do

Melissa Shere Beek:

you mean? He's learned. Don't tell me. Listen. I want to know what you can do.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Do. We actually

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

answered know what you for

Melissa Shere Beek:

each We both got it correct. One thing. Not correct or incorrect.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

It's he knew me, and I knew him. That's what I'm gonna say.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. What's the one thing that you said about him that you liked?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

That I can go to him and I will get an honest opinion.

Melissa Shere Beek:

And what what was the one thing? What?

Mason Sharpe:

I'm going dirty. I'm sorry. How I can go anywhere. Uh-huh. And she always is able to have conversation know, have have conversations with people Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

And find interest in people. Yeah. It's not like she finds a corner and just stays in it.

Melissa Shere Beek:

So No. She's social. Yeah. She's social. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

She could talk. Yeah.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Wait. You pick another one.

Mason Sharpe:

Oh, you don't use it?

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. No. No. Go ahead. You're guest.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

We wanna hear what you have to say. Yeah.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

This is all about you. You wanted this.

Mason Sharpe:

I should've got this in

Melissa Shere Beek:

shirt for Stella. She looked cute in that shirt too. Yeah. What

Mason Sharpe:

is your first memory? I I don't remember it.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. Take another one. Send that back. You know, he's my husband now because he's like We've we've

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

You didn't finish your thought there.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. We've we've we've we've Someone

Mason Sharpe:

you never got to think.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, hacked that up again? Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

That was mine Did you

Melissa Shere Beek:

put that back? No. I hinted it to you.

Mason Sharpe:

You said you said leave it up, but then put it back afterwards.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh, okay. It was than this.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Dig deeper in that barrel then. Yeah. You gotta like. There's one by your leg.

Mason Sharpe:

Favorite meal?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

No. Not my cooking.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It was Samantha doesn't cook. Think he's By your leg, Jess. What leg?

Mason Sharpe:

It'd be either a stick or a lobster. Yeah. Daniels. Daniels.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh, I

Mason Sharpe:

don't know what Daniel's is.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Because I'm okay.

Mason Sharpe:

Poor lobster. I'm trying to get Yeah.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

What did which one knew he was gonna say, yes. Put them

Melissa Shere Beek:

back in, Mason. Dig dig dig

Mason Sharpe:

dig I I answered.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Do you want us to pick one for good one. That wasn't a

Jessica Shere Coggins:

good one. He's just picking. We could pick one for you. I could find a really good

Melissa Shere Beek:

one for you. The bag, Jess. Take the bag away from him.

Mason Sharpe:

What hobbies do you have?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Oh, No. No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. No. I'm gonna find him a good one. Like one he has to really answer. Okay.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Hold on.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You might be doing that for

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

a while. No. No. I will say one thing about me, Sam. What do you what do you say about me?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I am more your mother's daughter than you are her son.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. I I have two mother in laws, I always say. Because she yeah. She's

Melissa Shere Beek:

I am more Candy's daughter than

Mason Sharpe:

She's very similar to my mom.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh, okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Sorry. I'll get one. Yeah.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

You looked at me like, what?

Melissa Shere Beek:

I was like, two mother in laws? What what do you mean? No. He has

Mason Sharpe:

No. Because

Melissa Shere Beek:

you She like

Mason Sharpe:

goes to my mom.

Melissa Shere Beek:

She's very

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

similar. Like he wasn't he knew what he was marrying because of his mother. His mother's a shopper. Candy is a shopper.

Melissa Shere Beek:

So I think that's why Mason's not fazed by the shit that he don't think he's good with anything she does. I don't think so either. I don't he just it. I don't think he cares. I think he just doesn't give a shit.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. He just done she could do whatever. It's great.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I love that.

Mason Sharpe:

I don't know if I ever admitted to her, but I know she like she'll buy some a lot of stuff, but as long as it's one thing for me, then everything else is okay because

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. She justifies it. Did she do that with the

Mason Sharpe:

kids too? Yeah. With the Oh, Samantha.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, these

Mason Sharpe:

are for the girls. Purchase.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, it's for the girls.

Mason Sharpe:

It's for the girls. All the time. Yeah.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

This is a really good one. And you have to answer.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. I think it's good. Guys picked a good one.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

There was a bunch I did

Melissa Shere Beek:

not say.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Look at her. Shere laugh as a pile. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

She had laugh as 10,000 on them.

Mason Sharpe:

Something we don't know or you've never shared before.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh. I

Mason Sharpe:

don't know. I'm giving you guys so much information.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. You it's gotta be something you never shared before. Twenty six years later, what did you not feel Can

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I have line off numbers? Yes. Okay. See,

Melissa Shere Beek:

he's smiling though. It's okay. I don't think he's smiling.

Mason Sharpe:

I was I'm I'm trying to think of an answer. I don't know. No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But he's not. He doesn't do you mind if No. I said

Mason Sharpe:

It just reminded me of someone else who's using it right now.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Wait. I'm missing something.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I'm missing something too. I'm missing the second part of that.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I mean, they're not getting dirty.

Melissa Shere Beek:

They're not getting dirty.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Wait. What Somebody answer the question.

Mason Sharpe:

I I don't know. I've given you I've shared with

Melissa Shere Beek:

you You guys so much need get with it and answer questions. There's gotta be something weird about you that you There's gotta be something weird. Oh, god.

Mason Sharpe:

I'll have to get back

Melissa Shere Beek:

to Like, are you a good dancer secretly? No. No. Oh, I think I

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

know He's not a good dancer.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. He just moves. Right? And Samantha's got the

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Twinkle toes. His father has a twinkle toes.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Do you have, like, a specific hobby we don't know about?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

This is getting weird.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. No. I don't I don't have anything. I'm boring about that.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. Should we ask him another one? Kind of checks out. I'm sorry. But No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He's gotta do something different that we I don't don't think he has a secret weirdness.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

No. Alright. We're gonna ask another one.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. Go ahead. Don't forget to put that pile in your lap back in the bag. I will. Samantha, get someone to see if you can find them.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Let me the bag.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, why am I not doing so hot? No. No. But like two is more efficient than one.

Mason Sharpe:

I wonder a lot. Look how here in your

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. So you both

Mason Sharpe:

have to look over?

Melissa Shere Beek:

This is what I go through. Welcome to my world. Well, yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

No. But for themselves. But this is about for me to answer.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

No. We're we only we take what we take. But for you, we gotta get down and dirty with you. Oh,

Melissa Shere Beek:

that's a good one. Okay. Your wife picked it.

Mason Sharpe:

What do you fear? Snakes.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

I can't.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, you're like Indiana Jones. Yeah. Oh, horrible. So funny. I've taken snakes out of the house.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Why do they scare Oh,

Mason Sharpe:

my god.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Really? Wait. We got wait. Wait. Another one.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Here. This is a good one too.

Melissa Shere Beek:

This one's good too, though. Did you have a traumatic experience as a child? Oh, this is a Not

Mason Sharpe:

with snakes. Thank god.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Long one. Okay. Okay. We we might have found a good one. Oh, we found a good one?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I it's not fair. I hit this thing a 100 times.

Mason Sharpe:

Is there a time in your life that changed things that you mark as a before and after period, a pivotal moment? Obviously, the basic one would be when I got married or when I had kids.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But besides

Mason Sharpe:

Things that that changed.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

You gotta go to something.

Melissa Shere Beek:

She wants you to get to the meat of something. Are you thinking of something specific, Jess? No. No. Was one

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

of your questions.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

No. I just don't want him to say the kids being born and being married. I

Melissa Shere Beek:

want That's like a a pretty big. No. But those are common.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Don't know if he has another one.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Is there a more personal pivotal moment?

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. I wanna be able to give you guys answers. I don't I already gave you two, but they're not

Melissa Shere Beek:

good at all. We a gong in here for him not answering. We needed a gong. I thought this is a good one before and after.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

About him is he's he we know him so well. There's nothing, like, that would surprise us, at least for me.

Mason Sharpe:

Maybe it's, like, before and after, like, when the kids go to sleepaway camp and when they're not at sleepaway camp. Like, it's a different attitude.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. I'm talking like an impactful pivotal moment.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Think maybe my when my father died.

Mason Sharpe:

But I didn't wanna bring that up. Don't know

Melissa Shere Beek:

if that's the right thing. Can up all time. Everything.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

All the time.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. That was an impactful pivotal moment when our dad died.

Mason Sharpe:

It's not just when he died, but also, like, when he got injured, you know, like Mhmm. Before that

Melissa Shere Beek:

The first time. Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

I played tennis with him. Mhmm. You know, go to Home Depot. Mhmm. Just do stuff like that.

Mason Sharpe:

And then, you know, there's a moment where, you know, it just stops and just changes and stuff Right. Like And I still remember all our family vacations, hanging out with him.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

I remember, actually, there was a moment, like, we were somewhere over in Europe, walking the street, and there was something happening with it was an argument with Samantha and I, obviously. And then I

Melissa Shere Beek:

was I think this was in Prague, because I remember the screaming on the street.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. And then your mom was like shouting at me, defending Samantha, and then your dad was like, no, Mason's right. And your mom started yelling at your father, how could you do that? It's your daughter. He's like, yeah, but he's right.

Mason Sharpe:

So like, he was always there to like Yeah. Your mom would say whatever.

Melissa Shere Beek:

That's like how

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I was growing up.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But he always

Mason Sharpe:

was like truthful and would, even if it hurt saying going up against her

Melissa Shere Beek:

Right.

Mason Sharpe:

He would say the truth and

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. He always told the truth.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. So that's what There's a

Melissa Shere Beek:

big difference. It's amazing to me that his

Mason Sharpe:

Sorry for upsetting both

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

of It's amazing to

Jessica Shere Coggins:

me that his memory, like, still continues.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, yeah.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

But it's been a long time. Sometimes you

Melissa Shere Beek:

don't, like, think about it. You know what I mean? But it's it's it keeps it continues.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

He says

Melissa Shere Beek:

he still like, he remembers

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

that he remembers that pivotal moment when he stopped being dad. Yeah. Like

Mason Sharpe:

It ate me up when he, like, when he couldn't eat.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

And we to celebrate his birthdays, we'd go to somewhere to eat.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I know. I know. And had cake.

Mason Sharpe:

In front of him.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But we used to We used to sneak a cake. I don't eat him. Yeah. Yeah.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Like the frosting.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

He knew

Mason Sharpe:

his stomach. Knew then also, was like, I value his opinion for sure.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah. You did value his opinion.

Mason Sharpe:

And when I go there for his advice, and he's he's given me an answer Yeah. But I can't understand what he says. It was so devastating. Like, try to try to guess what he's saying. I try because I didn't wanna leave him frustrated that he couldn't say something so

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

that Remember when I got you guys Wally World matching shirts? Yeah. You and him and the Wally World matching shirts.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. We used to do the Wally World stuff.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Yeah.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

You loved him. Next question. No. That was a good one.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. It's it is. But you

Mason Sharpe:

keep feeding me that Shere turn too.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

No. No. We don't use it. We do these all the time.

Melissa Shere Beek:

We do these all the time. What?

Mason Sharpe:

What got you? My dad.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. My dad.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Not you. You don't bring her to tears.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Well, you did. But you didn't.

Mason Sharpe:

What do you wanna get better at? I guess just dealing with with the girls in the in the house and stuff like that, trying to understand them and having a better relationship with them and stuff like that. That's because there's sometimes you you think you you understand them, and then they come home and they say things where you're like, I I just

Melissa Shere Beek:

You don't know what hit you?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Well, because and they also talk in these terms now.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. Like But, like, even, like, outfits. Like, I didn't realize, like, if you're for homecoming, that you need to give at least 500 different outfits to choose. And if you find one that's still not good enough because your opinion may change, so you still gotta buy several 100 more

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh, my god.

Mason Sharpe:

To go over

Melissa Shere Beek:

and Things are different in your house. Yeah. Balan, you got a dress. That's it. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

My kids You don't like it? I'm not paying for another one. Sorry, Sam. Yeah. It's not me.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Have you not met Bria? I mean, like, come on.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Like, I love the dress on her. I don't know.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, I don't know.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I She saw me

Melissa Shere Beek:

this dress. I really like it.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

She looked hot. Which one?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

It was like a sexy one, but

Melissa Shere Beek:

she looked really good. Was it the lace one? Yeah. But they got a high neck. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I loved it on I

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

loved it too.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I thought she looked gorgeous and very feminine in it.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah. Well, as if she's not No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. No. No.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

It was like this see through lace, I think, from what I remember.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

White or black? I think it's black. Okay. That's something else. That is not homecoming.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Oh.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Okay.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah. No. Okay. That was three points. That's something else.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, yeah. She looks good. Yeah. Yeah.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I know.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Really I didn't see any of these.

Mason Sharpe:

Three points.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I don't know.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Okay. Give him another one.

Melissa Shere Beek:

This is the only time I hear from these two is when I get them in studio. The rest of the month, I can't get them on the phone or return text.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh my god. I have so many in

Melissa Shere Beek:

my life.

Mason Sharpe:

This one is not possible. How do you handle stress?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Give me other ones.

Mason Sharpe:

Step out of the house. Breeze got me going to the gym. But I go to the gym more often. I try, but then there's always there's events that I have to go to at night.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Look at these two working hard. These two little elves. We

Jessica Shere Coggins:

are on to it.

Mason Sharpe:

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Do you have

Melissa Shere Beek:

another one, buddy? I don't love it. Have

Mason Sharpe:

to What's have a pet my biggest pet peeve?

Melissa Shere Beek:

I know. She's asking.

Mason Sharpe:

I'm sure there's something, but I can't remember, like, what I hate.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Me? Traveling?

Mason Sharpe:

I don't know. Only thing can think of that's in my head right now

Melissa Shere Beek:

Traveling is with us.

Mason Sharpe:

When you're in a restaurant

Melissa Shere Beek:

Uh-huh.

Mason Sharpe:

And you're gonna give your order

Melissa Shere Beek:

Uh-huh.

Mason Sharpe:

And they say and then the waiter will come to you, what are we ordering? Like, we're why we? It's just me. Like, I'm Why do they need to sit? They should just say, what are you ordering?

Melissa Shere Beek:

That's your pet peeve?

Mason Sharpe:

I'm just trying

Melissa Shere Beek:

to that's the first thing. Do have another one that

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I'll I'm gonna say

Melissa Shere Beek:

at far at the end of this question.

Mason Sharpe:

What is your greatest achievement so far?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Thus far. Yeah.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I'm not gonna

Mason Sharpe:

do this. I think I know

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

what they

Mason Sharpe:

Providing for my family and making them happy.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Aw. That's sweet. Did you hear that? Are you even yeah. Think a good one.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yes. Yes. Aw. That's sweet. And making them happy.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I like that.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Thank you.

Mason Sharpe:

Who wears the next topic? That we good?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

No. We're not. We're just gonna keep giving you good questions.

Mason Sharpe:

Okay. Well, this is favorite place you travel to that you'd move to.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, that's a good You could do that too. But you could Yeah. He liked that. You too. He laid up.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He sat up. He's answers now.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

And he's like, oh.

Mason Sharpe:

If you cut it off for a play favorite place you've traveled to

Melissa Shere Beek:

Uh-huh.

Mason Sharpe:

Definitely South Africa.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Uh-huh.

Mason Sharpe:

But not to live there.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay.

Mason Sharpe:

So the place I've moved to?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Uh-huh.

Mason Sharpe:

Japan.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. I love Japan. Why?

Mason Sharpe:

He goes Oh, he's gonna go on

Melissa Shere Beek:

ten minutes on this.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. No. The the people over there, the respect that you have

Melissa Shere Beek:

Steven just came back from Japan.

Mason Sharpe:

Oh, that's right.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Got us all gifts.

Mason Sharpe:

That so he Not

Jessica Shere Coggins:

you though.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. No. I finished the bongo movies. Oh, not me.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I used coffee.

Mason Sharpe:

You think of Japan as being a place that is gonna have great Japanese food, but you don't realize when you're there, it's great everything food.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

Because they're just perfectionists.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's amazing. It's so different there.

Mason Sharpe:

Love food. Italian food.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I love the energy there. It's everything. The energy is just so calm and considerate and nice. You take your time. I'd loved going through the gardens.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Yeah. Some of it's just for magnificent.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Such a spiritual experience. Like I just I just felt it was yeah. I like that. I agree with you on that one. I wouldn't move there though.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I would move to Italy.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I thought you would have said Kennebunkport or

Melissa Shere Beek:

I kicked by accident with my shoe.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Kennebunkport or Vail.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. But that's just short term though.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

But he doesn't ski anymore.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

No. He never skied.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Right. Next one.

Mason Sharpe:

No. I did try skiing.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

No. Because I could imagine him skiing.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. No. No. No. There's no point.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

You injured your head. Now one thing injured your knee

Melissa Shere Beek:

the next year. So we're just We

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

could get all the bunny slopes

Melissa Shere Beek:

and he got mad that I moved ahead.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Yeah. Because this one just keeps skiing and this one's left behind.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But she's always been skiing.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. But as long as there's food, I'm okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Alright. I'm at the apres ski with the chocolate milk and the

Mason Sharpe:

s'mores. Thoughts on AI.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

So before you answer, Brie and I jokingly say that he is having an affair with Claude. Is Claude your AI person?

Mason Sharpe:

Oh. You're you're not too familiar with AI.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He's Claude either.

Mason Sharpe:

So Claude is have you ordered ChatGPT?

Melissa Shere Beek:

UPS guy.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. So ChatGPT is like like McDonald's and Burger King. So, like, ChatGPT is McDonald's and Claude is

Melissa Shere Beek:

Burger King.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

It's just another His analogies are really good. His analogies are really good. He does check Wendy's Wendy's is Gemini. So, like, there's different

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's another AI source. Oh,

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I see. You're going down.

Mason Sharpe:

But the thing is that there's lot of free ones.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Taco Bell.

Mason Sharpe:

You can use ChatGPT for free and Claude for free, and that's what I used to use. But then I changed and I and I have this Claude called co work, where it you could basically, like, take over your computer, it can, like, basically step in for you and do things on your behalf.

Melissa Shere Beek:

That's so weird though, still.

Mason Sharpe:

If I have a problem with the computer or if I have to go to my parents house to fix the computer, I just tell Claude, this is an issue here, and it just takes over the computer, does all these steps on its own.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He used to come over

Jessica Shere Coggins:

and fix mommy's computer all the time. I

Melissa Shere Beek:

remember But

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

what what are your thoughts on AI? You like it or

Melissa Shere Beek:

you don't? I love it. Yeah. He would

Mason Sharpe:

like it. But there's also extremes too, though.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. Steven and I were having this discussion right before you came in. Steven, turn around. You gotta chime in on this. We were talking about AI.

Melissa Shere Beek:

And I said, I only like it for helping with health reasons, if it can come science wise to good things. Or what was the other thing I said, Steven? Health and

Mason Sharpe:

I think those were the two.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. What was the second one? Health and oh, shit. What was it? I lost my mind.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Something else. Health was one of them and also I forgot the other one. But I Educational? Or something? No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I didn't say that. Academia? No. Okay.

Mason Sharpe:

But what I found with AI But Artist I don't wanna get too

Melissa Shere Beek:

far Okay. Go ahead.

Mason Sharpe:

Too far involved into this.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Have Okay.

Mason Sharpe:

But I I feel like it's you look like several years ago, like, with Facebook and and social media, how it's basically getting everyone to extremes.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Right.

Mason Sharpe:

So, like, where before social media, it didn't really matter if you're a Democrat, Republican, it's not that big of a deal. But on social media, all it feeds you is if you if you're a Democrat, all you're gonna keep seeing is Democrat stuff. And so you everyone eventually goes towards extremes. So, like, for AI, when you ask for an opinion Mhmm. And say, I'm having this issue here, what I want it it, You're basically, like, telling it what your side is.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. That's how you phrase it and say it.

Mason Sharpe:

Right. And so it wants to please you, so it gives you answers Yeah. To defend yours. So actually, there's one example of someone on social media, a famous, like, real estate agent who's selling, like, a really super expensive apartment, and then the buyer and seller, they're about to close on the deal, but they both, the buyer went on to AI and asked the question, am I selling it at a high or a low price? And then for the buyer, it says, You're overpaying, you shouldn't be doing this, and then the buyer contacted the broker, they wanted to back out.

Mason Sharpe:

Then when the broker told the seller, the seller's like, actually, you're saying that I was on AI, and I asked it a question, it said, I'm selling it for too low of a price, I'm backing out too. Right. So both of them are extremes, and they're not they're missing out on a lot of things. And for business wise, I use it, but I'm also seeing, when I give leases to tenants, I'm seeing tenants put in using AI, and they're asking for crazy things and it's basically now that if we used to have like a small little issue to deal with, now sometimes if they use AI and I am, it's just extremes.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I think it's extremely divisive. And I think we have no guardrails on it. And I'm afraid what it could do with warfare and other things. I just I think it can be I think there are positives to it, like I said, for research and health. But I am really scared that we have no parameters and it can be extremely dangerous in the wrong hands.

Melissa Shere Beek:

As far as you the And that's fucking scary. I know.

Mason Sharpe:

But For Aiden's graduation at Arizona, it had a like a speaker. Mhmm. And it was some guy from Google, Sam.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Mhmm.

Mason Sharpe:

Right? There's a former former VP or whatever. Mhmm. And he would kept talking about how AI is gonna change everyone's lives. And every time he mentioned AI, all the students

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Would boo.

Mason Sharpe:

Would boo because they're taking they they feel AI is taking their jobs away.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It is. It is.

Mason Sharpe:

It also It's adds jobs just it's different. Just like coming with computers. So it changes everyone's way of I'm handling

Melissa Shere Beek:

boot to AI for a lot of reasons.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

But I bet if you were younger, you would be more into

Mason Sharpe:

it.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. I don't think I would be. Mm-mm. I think a lot of the younger generation is because I think that's what they're gonna have growing up. It isn't that pathetic.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's just the

Jessica Shere Coggins:

way it's going.

Melissa Shere Beek:

From, like, human connection.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. But it's bad for, like, education for schools.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's horrible.

Mason Sharpe:

Now, you do work and you're using AI to get the answer and you're

Melissa Shere Beek:

not really using AI. Are you learning?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Do not let these kids come home and write essays or any of that.

Melissa Shere Beek:

They have to do it in school. Teacher No. I picks it up

Jessica Shere Coggins:

because everything is ruined from AI with that with that. I don't know.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I'm I'm anti.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Okay. Next question.

Mason Sharpe:

Can you, like, have, like, a camera view of how many they've gone through? I mean, this is

Jessica Shere Coggins:

really Wait. I got a good one for you.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I'll take a picture. This is a good one.

Mason Sharpe:

Okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I like that one.

Mason Sharpe:

It's like a paper shredder here.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. I know. I hope they're putting them back in the right places.

Mason Sharpe:

Superpower you wish you had.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I like that one. Mhmm.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

We've done that one.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He's looking at both of us like help. But I He every single question he looks to Samantha to answer, help him answer. He's like, maybe he's scared he's gonna get in trouble. No. Superpower, I guess, is he read in my mind.

Mason Sharpe:

Be able to find, like, a money tree or something. Have to be able to afford them because they it's not easy.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I like that answer. That was a great answer.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You need a money tree.

Mason Sharpe:

I love that.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Alright. You wanna do one last one? Yeah. Okay. One last one.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Make it a good one. Is this a good one? Samantha's laughing. I

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

what he's gonna say.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You do? Okay. Give it to him. It'll be our last one. No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Cannot say Samantha.

Mason Sharpe:

No. What?

Melissa Shere Beek:

I didn't get that from this at all. Oh. I don't know what the answer what question is.

Mason Sharpe:

What is your greatest greatest extravagance?

Melissa Shere Beek:

She said her. Yeah. You can't say Sam.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

No. Give her give him a different one.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. Let's end on a good one. Okay. Okay. Unless there's anything else Unless there's a We didn't ask that you wanna share with

Mason Sharpe:

us. Know. Guess Sam, greatest extravagant I got a new car.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Uh-huh.

Mason Sharpe:

And it is the biggest waste.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

It's not a waste. Really? Okay. He has two it's a two seater.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I mean and I kinda can

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

And take the there's no trunk.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

But why did he get it?

Melissa Shere Beek:

But he needs Please

Mason Sharpe:

told me.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

They said No.

Mason Sharpe:

No. No. No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

They have electric cars. They they He has wanted Samantha. No. No. No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Samantha.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

He has wanted this car for so long, and we have one child left at home. Right. So he should get it. Right. But the problem was he

Melissa Shere Beek:

got So they it knew wanted it, man.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

No. He got it over the summer when we had everybody, five of us in the house with a child that so we have three cars, five five drivers, okay? He goes to work. He and that's that car. Bria was working.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

She had her car. So it was down to my car. So it was between me and Stella. And there was a day where I needed to do something. Stella needed to go to work.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

She didn't have a ride to work. And was your car maybe home at the time? I think you were home

Melissa Shere Beek:

at the I whatever it is,

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

he didn't want anybody driving his fancy car, and I get it. It just was that he got it. If he had gotten it right now when we were down to nobody at that well, only Bre and she has her own. We have a car for each person. It was fine.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

But So he do like

Melissa Shere Beek:

it now? He loves it. It's gorgeous.

Mason Sharpe:

But it's not practical.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Like, it's Yeah. But you you don't need it.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

It wasn't impractical during the summer when we had three cars and five drivers.

Mason Sharpe:

I mean, maybe the good thing is too is when we go shopping, she has to buy less stuff because they can't fit into

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

the His bunk is coming.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Don't worry. She'll take her own car and do that right after She'll have it shipped

Jessica Shere Coggins:

to the

Mason Sharpe:

house. But it's just it's frustrating.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Don't have shipped to the house. None. Yeah. I like his car. Okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

What? Final one? Yeah. Let's pick the final one.

Mason Sharpe:

Wasn't the last one the final

Melissa Shere Beek:

one? No. No. It's okay. We like to use rules around.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yes. They change the rules

Melissa Shere Beek:

every time.

Mason Sharpe:

Speaking of which, one rule you live by?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Oh.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Not Samantha or the kids. You.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Don't look to your wife for answers.

Mason Sharpe:

No. I don't know. I just think you just gotta be respectful for everyone.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I like it.

Mason Sharpe:

You know? Because you never know who you're gonna be around and you don't wanna burn your bridges. It's a lot easier to be nicer to someone than not.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Oh, what's your rule? Give us your rule.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You have

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

to fold it back up. This is one thing I will tell you that Smith, this something all that is so Mason and I think my whole house is like, lived I by his don't know.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I tried on LinkedIn 100.

Mason Sharpe:

Oh, okay.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

This is something he is like engraved into our heads.

Mason Sharpe:

I think I've said it a few times that my wife loves it. So she always tells

Melissa Shere Beek:

Tell people in it our listeners.

Mason Sharpe:

It's one of the few classes that I learned a lot

Melissa Shere Beek:

Uh-huh.

Mason Sharpe:

Over at BU. And it was a one ten, 100 rule where it's basically like for every one person that you make happy, they'll tell 10 other people. But for every one person you upset, they're gonna tell a 100. But that was back before social media. Now with social media, now it's like the one ten ten thousand rule

Melissa Shere Beek:

or something

Mason Sharpe:

like that. So you always wanna please people. Don't because you upset someone, that news that word's gonna spread a lot faster.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I think it's So what do you do when you Yeah. Have thought about

Mason Sharpe:

So so like a lot of times, if I go somewhere

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

A restaurant.

Mason Sharpe:

A restaurant or a hotel or a store or whatever, and someone that that's helping me does a really

Melissa Shere Beek:

good I always think that. You always Right?

Mason Sharpe:

I wanna speak to a manager.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

And they get all scared.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But

Mason Sharpe:

they yeah. Usually because I tell the manager, say, I know. Like, when you ask for a manager, the only time you ask is when there's a problem. But if someone does something good, no one ever asks for the manager.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I always do.

Mason Sharpe:

Right. But not you're one of the few people. Because most people, the only time you ask for a manager is to complain. No. So I like that if someone's doing a good job Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

Helping me, just it doesn't hurt. There's nothing there's no penalty in doing that. Just go and tell them.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Catch everybody doing great things, and then I also say, you you should always be kind to everybody anyways, because you never know what anybody's going through. I yeah. That's a good one too. And I feel like your smile or your acknowledgement or your kindness

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

a door for somebody. Hold it open. Yeah. I say thank you.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I I do appreciate it.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Just need to be kind. The world needs a lot more kindness. Yeah. So Mason

Mason Sharpe:

That's a great way to close

Melissa Shere Beek:

it out. Did you like this?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

This is fun.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Could

Mason Sharpe:

really answer

Melissa Shere Beek:

the studio?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Be fun?

Melissa Shere Beek:

If you wish

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

like, there's one one thing that you could discuss, what would it be? Like, one thing you could on

Melissa Shere Beek:

today. I know.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I think that We

Mason Sharpe:

can talk about

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

think sports. Celsius is kicking in.

Melissa Shere Beek:

That's her her drink. She's like

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I'm not burping the blueberry I don't I have my blueberry coffee today.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Thank god. Is there anything we didn't discuss that you wanted to discuss? Oh, that's a good one.

Mason Sharpe:

That's good. But our actually

Melissa Shere Beek:

gonna answer the questions we give you. Yeah. Is there anything that you wanted to discuss that we didn't ask you in the beginning?

Mason Sharpe:

You asked, like, really good questions.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. What about the dynamic between the three of us?

Mason Sharpe:

I thought you started off the beginning, like, what the differences are

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

between just saw we did. Right?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. I started off, like, about but I I set us as a group. You only you only pointed out me. You said that I was level headed.

Mason Sharpe:

No. Wait. Jessica I'm loud. She's she's changed over time.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. You said Jessica.

Mason Sharpe:

Right.

Melissa Shere Beek:

And your wife is just your wife. Yeah. Okay. So watch out what he

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

says because

Melissa Shere Beek:

has to go home to you.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah. He's They're sleeping in

Jessica Shere Coggins:

the same bed. Okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

We should

Jessica Shere Coggins:

come with

Melissa Shere Beek:

I had questions. Is she feisty at home? Does she rule the roost?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Of course.

Mason Sharpe:

You're supposed to make her think that she does. Okay. I do a good job at that, I think. Right?

Melissa Shere Beek:

I know.

Mason Sharpe:

I do. Right. See? She it works.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Look at you.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Have me doubting. I do. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

What what question? What other questions? Oh, all the questions.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Wanna know about her.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Through him.

Melissa Shere Beek:

What do

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

you wanna know?

Melissa Shere Beek:

I mean, is she still a screamer? Because she's a screamer. She was a screamer. He cheated. Looks to her to get the answers for He's scaring you.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He's not answering a damn question. Has to get

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

him in when she's not

Melissa Shere Beek:

over there.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Think he's I don't think

Melissa Shere Beek:

he's looking at me because a scam booth. Think he's still screaming. I'm

Mason Sharpe:

wondering, like, in what situation he's

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

She gonna kinda gets

Melissa Shere Beek:

like a The level of information that he gives is gonna be the level of backlash he's gonna get with me now. No.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

No. You won't

Melissa Shere Beek:

get any backlash.

Mason Sharpe:

I'm talking about if she's a screamer, like, in what what regard?

Melissa Shere Beek:

She's kinda like you know

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

that dog Not that faces fine.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Turn in that regard. No. Okay.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

We're doing it all the time.

Mason Sharpe:

You see? We're talking about like We

Melissa Shere Beek:

already had that. We already had two with her. No. His face just dropped.

Mason Sharpe:

I don't know. Okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

What? We talk lots of things. No. Like, in the sense that, like like you said, you've never seen me raise my voice or do, like, you know, anything like that. Oh, I

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

can scream.

Melissa Shere Beek:

MASA in a normal conversation can just go off.

Mason Sharpe:

Oh, yeah. Yeah. No. Like, she's taught that very well with our daughters. So when all three of them had this they had this high pitch Mhmm.

Mason Sharpe:

You can't tell who's who. They it's

Melissa Shere Beek:

I don't understand her, though. She's like it spins off. Like, she just

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Right? I haven't done that in long I'm not perfect either. I haven't done that in a while, though.

Melissa Shere Beek:

One day I don't know. You haven't called me back in a month. One day, I knew I knew Mason was in trouble because I saw him and Doug in the corner talking, and they were very serious. Really? He's on trouble.

Mason Sharpe:

I don't know. I don't remember this.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, you came to Doug. You're like, I'm a little concerned. What do you do when?

Jessica Shere Coggins:

That's so funny. Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

It was a big help because, you know, I don't have, like, another guy to ask

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Back then. This family Yeah. That understands the dynamics of all the players in this circus. Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He doesn't have.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You know? Yeah. I hope Doug was helpful.

Mason Sharpe:

Oh, very helpful. Yeah. No. It's But except the shopping part. He went along with that stuff, though.

Mason Sharpe:

So or you didn't shop as much.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. One, I'm not a shopper. And also, my husband's always like, well, if you like it in green, get it in black too. Like so he never really, like, cared about any of those things. And so but I also am not at the, like Level.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. I don't buy lots. Like, if I'm gonna invest, I'm gonna invest in, like, great things that are gonna last through the years.

Mason Sharpe:

Well, no. She does that too. Like, the Stanley Cups,

Melissa Shere Beek:

they last forever.

Mason Sharpe:

No. But you still need 70 of them

Melissa Shere Beek:

because you never White is a bit more trendy than I am.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. Every different colors.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Like, she she likes all the Whatever she sees on, like, me. TikTok or something.

Mason Sharpe:

She's an impulse Yes.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yes.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

It does something to It's not an impulse buyer. I'm just indecisive. Like, I don't know what color I want. So I'd rather get them all the colors, see it, and then return them.

Melissa Shere Beek:

And then

Jessica Shere Coggins:

you don't return it.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You don't return it. They're all there. Then you give away the return.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Okay. I'll return. Next question. No. I think done.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Oh, okay.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Now, we have a good this is very light. Where are all the rest of these?

Mason Sharpe:

Here's here's something.

Melissa Shere Beek:

So many.

Mason Sharpe:

You gotta you asked me so many.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

That bag was heavy,

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I thought.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Samantha, you gotta pull these gotta

Jessica Shere Coggins:

pull those too.

Mason Sharpe:

Wait. So what was your opinion about when I came into the family?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh. Oh. That's a good question, This

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

is the episode that's never gonna end.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. I my opinion I I thought you were a good match for her. Oh. Because I thought you were very grounding for her. Wasn't really happy with some of the other guys that she dated.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Mhmm. And so I thought you were, like, a good match because when she brought her level up here, you were okay with it. And when she was here, you were okay with it. And whatever, crazy idea she had, you went with the program. Probably didn't have a choice.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No, I think he was happy to have a hot little blonde. I think he was really like, yeah. I think like yeah. I mean, that's why I he's he's looking to you for every answer. We needed to put you in the in the sound booth over there.

Mason Sharpe:

No answer involved for that. I'll let you know.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I thought you were good match. And then what I thought was well, what was really, really funny so there's two things that always jump out now that you just said this. One was that you were really sweet when my girls were little and you took them to Oh, Parent Jungle. Parent Jungle and everything like And you took them on a date with you guys when you were dating. Are you doing that?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. Never that.

Mason Sharpe:

And Monkey

Melissa Shere Beek:

Do you remember it? No. Not Monkey Jungle. You went to Parrot Jungle down a 112. Oh, it was there then?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Was there at the tent at the time. And then the other thing wait. It just left my head. Fuck. Oh.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, no.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I won't say Are you going through?

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. I'm already a menopause. I totally fucking own that shit. Fuck. What was the other thing that stuck in my mind?

Mason Sharpe:

Jessica will answer then we'll get back to you

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

on that.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Okay. Yeah. Really? I've been in the space.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I don't think I was around.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I was in college when you listen to or

Mason Sharpe:

think maybe was it when your father had a emergency and then you had to fly in and then we had to see you?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

You were in the car with Joanne and Jerry. No.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I had to meet you before then. I'm pretty sure. I just don't remember. I was away.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Was far far away. I was in college or I was living in New York. One or the other. Remember the other thing. But you grew on me.

Melissa Shere Beek:

They were very funny. Thought I you were I didn't I didn't mind you. I mean, you

Jessica Shere Coggins:

made my sister happy, so that's all that really mattered to me.

Melissa Shere Beek:

But I have learned I mean,

Jessica Shere Coggins:

this is I've learned now for ten years. We're not talking a couple years. I've learned to

Melissa Shere Beek:

get you and understand you. Yeah. A lot.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

I think both of you got to learn

Melissa Shere Beek:

to get back. You.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I enjoy your company.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I I

Mason Sharpe:

think Thank you.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I like it. Yeah.

Mason Sharpe:

Because I know your mom hated the sarcasm, but you're one of the that, like, stuck up

Jessica Shere Coggins:

for me.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I think you're hysterical. We get the sarcasm. She doesn't get jokes. No. She doesn't understand No.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

But his jokes are, like,

Melissa Shere Beek:

really funny. They're not just singers. They're like they've got

Jessica Shere Coggins:

There is some

Melissa Shere Beek:

a very dry sense of humor, but there's depth to it.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

It's so funny. He says these funny things.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I I need

Mason Sharpe:

get around more often.

Melissa Shere Beek:

It's free.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Yeah. I'll hype you up all the time, Mason.

Melissa Shere Beek:

We're gonna have fun in Mexico. The funny thing, that Samantha didn't get in the beginning because football or doing something or, like, being part of some sports thing or whatever. Was it was really funny. It was very funny seeing the dynamics of the two of you, like, when you got engaged and your opinions on her bridal stuff. Oh, jeez.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

That we'll save for another episode.

Melissa Shere Beek:

That it was just funny. It was just funny. And then, like

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

He was very involved.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I think you were always up for anything. I think that was I think that was a great plus for this family because nothing really fazed you. And you were game for anything that happened.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

You wanted to be a part of everything. Yeah. Everything.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Yeah. My

Melissa Shere Beek:

god. I wanted to

Mason Sharpe:

stay home too long to stay.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Be FOMO. I mean, really.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Definitely think Mason has FOMO. If I

Jessica Shere Coggins:

had no choice either back then. No. No.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

No. He has FOMO.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. He wanted to go. I think he had FOMO.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

He still does it.

Melissa Shere Beek:

He's still

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

in denial with FOMO.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Like being a part

Mason Sharpe:

of it. She likes to remind me that

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

on a now. I'm on a podcast now. Good

Melissa Shere Beek:

for him. I don't need to

Mason Sharpe:

do that.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

He's say No. No. He watches no.

Melissa Shere Beek:

What he says? He goes, I don't need to do that because you're gonna do that.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

No. He watches the sisters episodes, and every time his name is mentioned, he likes He's his name. He's

Melissa Shere Beek:

like, but you're in the right place. Opposite could be Mason. Because Mason always calls and has these opinions. You know, I really liked how you did this. You handled your mom this way, and I liked when you did this.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Yeah. He does do He's actually giving constructive criticism, but nobody else is telling me anything. And Mason's like, yeah, this was good and that was that. He does that too with me. Know it really.

Mason Sharpe:

No. I remember the first one that I listened to, I was really impressed.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Oh, you're so sweet.

Mason Sharpe:

Because it's it's obviously, I've never done it. But, like, how to to manage it and have it structured and

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

to because he listens to so many podcasts. So like, the fact that he can actually see how it happens. Yeah. Pretty cool, Yeah.

Melissa Shere Beek:

That you really

Mason Sharpe:

have to a lot Steven. That's pretty cool.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Steven is the coolest.

Mason Sharpe:

If you wanna know what I'm gonna brag about, it's I'm gonna

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I'm Do gonna brag

Melissa Shere Beek:

about Steven? He is the coolest. Yeah.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

Like, Steven's this anomaly. You know? Like, we always talk about him.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

No. He could just turn his chair around. He can be part of the conversation already. He knows so much about us.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh my god. He does. No. I'm gonna get him on one day. We're gonna get dirt.

Melissa Shere Beek:

We're gonna hear all the things he has to say about

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

He probably has signed us some.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Signed us on something?

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

No. He signed some ND.

Melissa Shere Beek:

ND. Yeah. No. I meant on us.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

I would love hear your opinions on us.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. We should have gotten

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

that when we first started, what he thought of each one of us. And then, like, now we can go to him and go, has your opinion changed?

Mason Sharpe:

See, you asked him before about, like, what type of character do you does he re does he Yeah. Remind you Super. So yeah. Know those things.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah. Oh, you remember that from a prior episode?

Mason Sharpe:

You remember what he said about you?

Melissa Shere Beek:

He watches them more than once.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

He just doesn't tell you.

Mason Sharpe:

Yeah. No. I don't remember what it was said. No. Alright.

Mason Sharpe:

I have a long drive home.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Anything else?

Mason Sharpe:

No. No.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Any other

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

questions? Any other questions?

Mason Sharpe:

I'll save it for the next episode.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Oh, he's

Mason Sharpe:

the one

Melissa Shere Beek:

who wants come back for a sister session.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

He's coming back.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Alright. But you have to actively, like, not look at your wife and you have to answer the questions.

Mason Sharpe:

Well, give me the questions ahead of time so that

Melissa Shere Beek:

we can all

Jessica Shere Coggins:

That's not fun. No.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

That's not fun.

Mason Sharpe:

That's Well, if you're answers to

Melissa Shere Beek:

me, you

Mason Sharpe:

could just keep flipping through other

Jessica Shere Coggins:

You can't let them

Melissa Shere Beek:

see like, they can't be like this. That's why I said Yeah. Yeah. She

Mason Sharpe:

didn't give me any answers.

Melissa Shere Beek:

No. But you looked at her too. He looked at me

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

he looked because he

Melissa Shere Beek:

loves me.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Yeah. It was very cute. Will say.

Jessica Shere Coggins:

They're very cute.

Melissa Shere Beek:

Very cute. They're always wanted to put you on the couch. Samantha's like, no. Jesus. You just told them that.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

Wait. Wait. I missed that.

Melissa Shere Beek:

You're gonna you go you want me

Samantha Shere Sharpe:

to sit next to him?

Melissa Shere Beek:

Don't put

Jessica Shere Coggins:

me next to him.

Melissa Shere Beek:

I said Samantha. I I was gonna have you on the couch and have Jessica in the rolly chair because she loves to roll all the way out and all the way back in and out

Jessica Shere Coggins:

of screen.

Samantha Shere Sharpe:
