This mindset allows us to design our year around our emotional well-being, providing a personalized blueprint for navigating the school year. For me, the word I anchor on this year is "peace." Though it may seem contradictory to seek peace in the chaotic realm of education, I argue that striving for this internal state empowers us to handle challenges with grace rather than react impulsively to stressors. This episode discusses practical ways to cultivate an inner sense of peace amidst the external clamor of a busy school environment. By choosing peace as my guiding principle, I can identify when disruption arises, leading to introspection about what needs to change within me or my surroundings. Through thoughtful inquiries, we examine how peace can manifest in our interactions—whether it’s in response to a student’s needs or in the way we approach classroom management.
