Welcome to Jesse's world episode 15, and we are so excited to have you. Today's topic is epic. Listen, if you're upwardly mobile, have a great sense of humor and just really wanna get your best life. Then this is the place for you. Um, we do all things, current affairs, you know, fun topics, some comedy, but really what we.

At the heart of it is work on becoming our best self. So let's not delay today's topic is never give up on you, but you already know before today's topic. We're first gonna jump into you. Get it right. Test time, where I get to have fun, little about life and the silly things that occur. So without further, a.

I got two for you today. Okay. First one is subliminal media. So we have a new leader in Ontario or sorry, Canada. Well, a new leader of the PC party in Canada. Um, so they finally chose their leader. Think this is like the sixth leader. Um, they've had like, they've had a lot of turnover, um, And I guess Steven Herper was the last one.

If I'm correct. And his shoes are obviously very hard to fill. Um, so now the media published a photo side by side of Trudeau and the new leader whose name I honestly cannot pronounce, starts with a P so I will learn to pronounce it. Um, but I don't wanna butcher. And so on CP 24, they had, um, this side by side image saying that Trudeau is slightly popular, more popular, slightly more popular, and it's this handsome Deir photo of Trudeau.

And then this very, like, you know, it, when you are in the middle of speaking and your video frame is caught in a strange. Position. So obviously they caught a frame of him where his he's kind of squinting his, his lips are pushed out and you know, it's not the most flattering photo they could find. And that's what they put in the side by side next to Justin.

Trudeau's super handsome, you know, photo. Uh, okay. Be careful about the subliminals sure the headlines say Trudeau is marginally ahead or whatever. But, um, the image is telling you favor Trudeau. It's subliminal. That's my interpretation. I could be wrong. Maybe their staff just doesn't know how to post.

Good photos of the people they talk about and maybe that's the issue. Maybe that's the best photo they found. I don't know while shuffling over their coffee and reading their morning paper and oh yeah, I gotta put up a photo grab. The first thing I see, I don't know. I don't know. But what I do know is looking at the side by side, ah, it looks a little bias, so that just made me think.

You need to be careful of the subliminals that you're intaking. Just be astute, be aware, be aware of why that might be happening and just, you know, I always promote this, use your own brain and think for yourself, even when you're listening to me, critical thinking is such an important skill. So don't let anyone, you know, bend your mind or influence your thoughts you think for yourself and be aware of those subliminals.

All right. Next test. Because I have two today, you guys are so lucky. Um, okay. Listen, there's a pandemic where I, I guess we're in the em or there's some debate about that. Some people are wearing masks. Some people are not to each his own for me, because I'm still working on my health. I do choose to distance if I don't know the situ someone's situation.

If they don't have a mask. , but if they have a mask, I might not be as distant. But what I've noticed is this phenomenon lately of people wearing masks, which gives you the illusion of you're gonna be safe to talk to this person and then pulling down the mask every time they speak and then pulling up the mask when they're finished speaking and then pulling down the mask.

To speak again. So I've noticed this like on a patio restaurant or at a medical facility at a medical facility pulling down the mask saying, in order to understand me, you need to see my lips now in that circumstance, the person had an accent. But again, I, if I listen, people do know about radio, right?

They've heard about the invention of radio. I mean, this is a podcast people, do you see my lips? Right? Do you see my lips? Or do you just hear the words that are coming outta my mouth, Chris Tucker, and understand it. You actually do not need to drop the mask for someone to understand you. I don't know who spread that misinformation, but it's not a thing.

Choose if you wanna wear a mask fine. If you don't wanna wear a mask fine, but playing hide and go seek with your lips playing peek BOO with the lips. Nah, I'm not really into it. And. For some reason, these same people love to lean in when they pull the mask down. I'm like, bam, this is the, it just makes no sense.

It just makes no sense. It's just like people who would go in the stores and have it on their chins. Why don't you wear it as a hat? It's fine. You don't have to wear it. You don't have to. So no playing peek a BOO with me. Okay. Okay. So you've been tested. I'll let you. Choose on or off, but don't be stripped, teasing with your lips around me.

I'm not having it. All right. All right. Okay. Getting into today's topic without further ado. Um, never give up on yourself, man. Woo. I had a different topic chose for today. Okay. I had a different topic chosen, but God gave me a download and I'm literally here to. Give you the information that I received.

Okay. Because this is just the, this is just what I, this is my inspiration today. This is what I was feeling. So here's the truth. And I will I'll, I'll tell my story and then I'm gonna give you, you know, five tips to just help you never give up on you five tips that are really gonna help you not give up on you.

So this, you have to stay tuned, cuz this is so important. But I'll tell you, I'm not saying this out of nowhere. I haven't had an easy life. I've spoken openly about it, but at every stage I've had to stand up and dust myself off and pick myself back up and work on it. And, you know, I can talk about all the hardships in my childhood and growing up in poverty and all of these things that made life rather challenging being biracial in an environment that was not biracial all of these things, but, but, but I can just talk about adult challenges too. I can talk about the fact that unfortunately I've been in a car where either as a passenger or as the driver, usually at a stop sign or a stoplight where I've been - many times, like more than like way too many times, to be honest. It's please. If you drive, learn how, like, make sure you know how to drive don't drive under the influence, make sure you pay attention. Don't text and drive. Cuz there's innocent. People like me out there. Um, and honestly it, it, it is life impacting and it doesn't, you don't always get compensated like for that and even if you did you are left with pain and in my case it seems to be life long so far - but I won't give up on healing. So far though, I just have to live with these impacts. For me, one of the impacts has been fibromyalgia. And so I'll break my silence on fibromyalgia today because it's serious. Um, I've been in bed for three days. Okay. So I'm pushing myself to not give up and to still do this podcast. I actually missed, um, one episode because I was literally in unbelievable pain from fibromyalgia and I just couldn't like I could barely get outta bed.

So what fibromyalgia basically is, is it's your. Telling your body that the pain it's amplifying the pain. So whatever pain you have, like a normal person would feel under a circumstance, it would give you 10, 20, 200 times that pain. Okay. So for me, um, I had went to see my godchildren. Um, and spend some time with them, but they live really far away.

So it was a five hour commute overall. Um, I was on the road for five hours and then of course, the time I spent with them and it was just like a, a, a long day. Um, and my God had a baby, which, you know, welcome Evelyn Rose. I love you. I love you. Love you. Beautiful. So my godson Keith had a baby, but I don't have to hold the baby.

I mean, Honestly, she's so cute. She's so perfect. You don't even know you don't even know, but as this like bright ocean blue eyes, and she's just so cute, like such a cute little smile. And she reminds me of her father when he was little, so oh, love, love. But I noticed that I need to work on my strength, which has been one of my personal goals.

Okay. To work on building my strength because since I got sick, and had fibromyalgia and stuff. It's harder for me. So I'm holding a baby, which I haven't done in a very, very, very long time. And I'm holding a baby and I'm like, okay, this baby's perfect. This baby's adorable. This is my new little, you know, God grand baby.

So, so perfect. And then over time, she's light and then she's a little heavier and then she's a little heavier. And then she, she became quite heavy and I realized, okay, I wanna be able to. Spend time with Evelyn and, you know, hold her and play with her and be active with her. So, you know, I wanna work on my physical fitness even more because I know she's gonna get more active when she's two and three, and she's gonna be running around with all this energy and I wanna keep up.

Okay. So I kind of gave myself that goal when I was holding her and looking at her, I said, I gotta work on. More I've already been working on me, but I wanna work on me more. I want to, I wanna be young for a long time. Okay. And I realize that my, my, you know, like this is just one of like the one godchild, like my, my son hasn't had a baby and.

All my other godchildren still, you know, well, Steven's had a baby, but I don't see that baby, but I love you, Steven so, um, yeah, you know, it's just, it, I, it was a note to self and then I got to hang out with my other godsend, Nathaniel, big up, Nathaniel, I love you to pieces, you know this. Um, and, and I just realized I need the energy for this Nathaniel's 15, you know, like I wanna like show up.

Glow up, you know, all of that just be present. So yeah, there's so many reasons. And of course, when my son has his baby, I more than need to be there. Right. I need to be regular in the life. So I set this school, so I have to work on the school every day. So today was a good day. I ate healthy. Um, and I kind of did the things I needed to do.

I went for a walk and I still had to go easy cuz I have fibro mial. So this is the thing I didn't just say. Well, I would love to do, you know, go for, I would love to do these things, but I'm in too much pain. I just said, I'll do what I can, but I'm gonna keep moving forward. Forward. Moving momentum is so critical.

Um, a body and emotion stays in motion. A body at rest stays at rest. And so, um, even if it's slow motion, try to move forward on the hard days. Yeah, man. So overcoming fibromyalgia. I don't think, I wouldn't say I've overcome it. I'm I'm working on it though. And I'm not giving up. It, it there's many days I feel okay.

But on the painful days, it is quite debilitating and it makes you super tired and it's not fun. But what I've done is I've started to, I've also changed my life. Really push on my, my entrepre, my entrepreneurial endeavors, and I really work to grow a lifestyle where if I need a day off, I can give myself the day.

Right. I don't need to beg or to like ask an employer, Hey, please. You know, understand this condition I have, cuz people love to say that they understand various conditions until they understand the reality of those conditions. And when those reality of those conditions mean, maybe I'm not able to do something on a day that you really need it done.

people don't understand that again. And, and listen, this is like, there are many, many, many people, millions of people with my fibromyalgia, it comes from extreme psychological trauma, right? Like emotional trauma. And it comes from extreme physical trauma for me, car accidents, right. Cars hitting my car, learn how to drive.

Drive. Really, please be careful on the road. People it's so critical, but I also, in my childhood had the emotional trauma. Right. And I would say even in my dating life. So I just don't think that's what caused it though. I think it was the physical, because I didn't, I wasn't diagnosed till after the car accidents, but it can be caused by both.

So preserve yourself. Love yourself. Be safe when you are driving. Um, don't put yourself in circumstances. If you're old. To remove yourself from them that are traumatic emotionally or physically. Okay. These are important cuz you don't want fibromyalgia. I tell you there is a genetic component I think because I know my mom and my aunt also have it, but um, yeah, despite that I am not giving up.

So I know you might have a challenge. Everybody has different challenges and my whole purpose of kind of sharing this story and the fact that I'm still showing. And I'm still doing this podcast today, is that even through pain, I've decided to show up and do this. And I don't want you to give up either, even though I have a long way to go on my goals, um, my workout goals and my fitness goals and, um, my weight loss goals, and even my business development goals.

It's okay. I will keep working at it. One thing I know from my past and my history and my legacy is that I'm not gonna give. I will not give up. I've failed so many times in my life. I've succeeded so many times in my life, but you know, you might take a rest, but you don't give up. Okay. So this is it. So here's the five steps.

This is what you've been waiting for, just to help keep you on track and make sure you don't give up whether your goals are weight loss, financial freedom, improved health, improved, mental health, whatever your goals are better. Relat. You got this. Okay. So number one, you need to know what you want. You need to have a clear vision for your life without understanding what you want.

You won't even know if you've given up on yourself or not, because you don't know what you want for yourself. So I know that I want financial freedom. I know that financial freedom affords me the ability to take care of myself, to be independent, to help the people I care about. To access. Good quality food, good quality, ho housing, good quality clothing, good quality, you know, workout, experiences, whatever.

Right. You just have more access in life. And so it is an important tool and it matters to me. So that is something that matters to me. Right. Um, making sure I achieve my physical fitness goals matters to me because I know. That my weight came from things I didn't even do, like from traumas, from the car accidents and different things like that.

It did not come and from getting sick. It did not come from like, like I actually don't have bad eating habits. Um, and when, where I was sedentary, it was mostly because either I had a sedentary job, but I still try to get up and dance and, and swim. So it wasn't even that it was the injuries it was being.

You know, if I gave you the years, like, is it start, I think started 2008 and then it was 11, 10, 11, 16, 17. It's crazy. So how many times can someone go through something like that without. having trauma. It resulted in fibromyalgia and it's very, very painful. And, um, thank God. It's not that way every day, but when it is it's, it's not nice.

So I didn't cause that in fact I didn't cause any of those situations. Um, however, I'm living with it as a result and I have to find what works for me. And I know that that, so a lot of people might. Their lifestyle view, like, okay, then I want, I'm not gonna be able to have what I want because before I was able to run around and as I was, I was able to do business a lot more in person, and I was able to do a lot more things and I was able to, if I wanted take a job and know that I could be reliable and now I know maybe there's gonna be a few days that I it's gonna be hard for me.

And I might have to take a couple days off here and there. So you know what it doesn't mean. I have to adjust what I want. I just have to adjust my. Way of getting what I want. Right. You have to be curious, you have to be adapted in life, but if you know what the goal is, it's not really like, don't negotiate your goal.

Your goal is your goal. It's just, how are you gonna get your goal? And sometimes that changes your life. Circumstance changes, right? You might be going through a divorce. You might be going, you might have just had a baby. You might like, who knows, right? You, you might have just been in an accident. You. Have to have some, you know, something adjusted in your life, but your goal is your goal and you can do it.

So don't adjust your goal, just adjust how you get it. Okay. Second of all, just discard all doubt. Right? So instead of asking, if you can do it, be curious, like a scientist or an inventor, and just figure out how you can do it. Henry Ford said he didn't need to know how to create a car. He just needed to know the people.

Who knew how to create a car. And he employed those engineers and he had a vision of what he wanted and he made them work until they got it. If something didn't work, they tried something else until they created the car. Right. And so same with us, right. We don't say, oh, I guess that didn't work. So forget it.

No star. that's whack. You better figure out a different way. Be a scientist. Be curious. Curiosity is fun. Anyway, they say it killed the cat. I just feel like, you know what? The cat came back. It killed the cat, but the cat came back and you tried again Yemen. So number three is like, just understand that failure expect failure.

Don't be afraid of failure. Expect failure. In fact, be like, oh, I was expecting you. Here's some. Here's some tea and some biscuits. okay. Thanks for stopping by now. Go because I have another way to try it. Right. So failure just means that you need to tweak something in your process or that you need to try another method.

Um, but it doesn't mean give it up. It does not mean give up, you are supposed to fail people who are living their best life. I'm sure failed many, many, many times. Like, there's not a doubt. I. Sure they failed many, many, many times. In fact, if you're listening to this and you know, anybody who's living a great, wonderful life and they never failed once, not one.

You let me know who that person is so that I can put them on my little list of liars because that's not true. so they're going on my little list of liars. Um, if you are succeeding, you have failed. So just expect it welcome. It. It just means you're further on your journey and you know what to try and not to try.

So you've ruled that one method and onto the next Starling. Okay. Number four, the journey could take. It could take years. So just know that even though it could take years, at some point you're gonna find the right shift and everything will line up for your benefit. Okay. And then it's like, boom, you got what you want.

So, Hmm. A lot of people feel like the day that a pop star pops up on the charts, that's the day they started singing nothing. August. often, these people have been toiling for eight years, two years, five years, 10 years, whatever their whole life they've been working at this. And you just didn't see it.

Right. People don't see the, the story. They just see the glory. So same with you. Like you just have to be prepared to put the work in, put your 10,000 hours in. Do you know what I mean? And make sure. That you understand, you're committed to the journey, which brings me back to the number five, which is very, very important, cuz it's, what's gonna make the journey enjoyable.

It's not supposed to be grueling. It's not supposed to be treacherous and horrible. No, it's hard work maybe, but it is supposed. The journey is life. Life is the journey. This is what we want to enjoy, baby. So enjoy the journey. Be curious, be open and, and expect failure and enjoy the journey and then celebrate all successes.

Any step in the right direction is a step worth celebrating because combined those steps will bring you to your goal to your destiny. Okay. Any step in the right direction is a step worth celebrating because combined those steps will bring. To your destiny. So listen for if it's weight loss, one pound 20 pounds celebrate because as long as you lost it, it's gone.

Don't let it come back and keep going. If it's money, $1 $20, you earned it. Celebrate, try to save some. So you actually see it stacking. Okay. All right. Bless that. Moves us on. To big boss vibes where we're gonna continue our theme. But now, instead of talking about personal goals, of course, we're gonna talk about our professional goals and just like with our personal goals, I do not want you to give up on your career aspirations.

Listen, freedom is living the life that you enjoy. It's your dream. No one, but. Can define it. Okay. A lot of the times people let their parents, their friends, their whomever, their bosses put doubt. So seeds of doubt in their minds when they come and say, here's what I wanna do with my life. And those people simply do not have the vision.

They may not even have your best interest at heart. They may find you quite ad. To want freedom that they haven't even considered didn't even realize is possible thought that maybe they were below or beneath, and now you're coming to them and maybe you're thinking you're above. And so you don't know how people view it, or maybe they just don't see the world the way you do.

And that's okay. Either which way you define your dream and therefore it's your responsibility to. Okay. But luckily for you, I have five more tips to help you with your professional aspirations and making sure that you do not give up on you professionally either. Okay. All right. Number one, decide on your decide what you want.

Do you want a job and like to climb that corporate ladder? Cuz if that's what you want that's okay. Everything's okay. Cuz freedom lies where you want it. Freedom lives where you need it to be where you want it to be, where you feel joy. If you feel joy, that's freedom, baby. So do you want a job? Do you wanna be an entrepreneur or do you want both?

And if you want both, just, I'm just gonna ask you why. And that's a rhetorical question for you to ask yourself, because if you want both, because you're too afraid to go and be an entre. I feel like you need to reevaluate. You can develop a safe exit strategy if you like. Um, if you're afraid to give up the money right away, you know, create a strategy where you don't leave until one out earns the other.

That's okay. I guess it's temporary, but don't be, don't let fear rule you. There's no space for it here. This is create, this is creativity. This is your journey. This is your destiny. This is why you're living. This is your freedom. What would you do for your freedom? So. Once you decide what you want, then you need to be fearless.

Okay. Fear only slows the inevitable. Right? It's gonna slow down the inevitable. So if you know, you wanna be an online, you know, let's say you wanna be, let's say you wanna be a model for online stores. Okay. You might not have an idea how to break into the modeling. Uh, how to, you know, how to access or approach online stores.

But for some reason, this is your dream and that's what you want to do. Um, if you're afraid, it doesn't mean the dream's gonna go away. So you're just gonna slow down your progress by not making the steps. And again, you don't have to know, but you just have to be curious enough to keep trying and keep searching.

And I assure you and speak to people openly tell people your dreams and you're gonna. Access to that the universe is gonna send it to you. Pray about it, right? If you, if, if praying is your thing, pray about it. And I know that you will be led to it. Okay. But leave the, leave the fear alone, man. Next thing.

If, if the fear doesn't slow down the inevitable honey, it will be worse. It might actually make you miss your opportunity Al. And trust me, cuz honestly I've lay laid on some things because of fear, lay, lay for those who don't know means procrastinated. Okay. I've procrastinated on some things for, because of fear.

And honestly, I really regret it cuz you don't get that time back and you don't know like yesterday you could have been completely healthy and fit and ready to do your thing today. You might have missed your li your opportunity, right? You don't know. So don't lay, lay, do not lay lay on. You do not sleep on your.

Show up for yourself and do not give up. Okay. There is no room for fear. All right. So that was number two, be fearless. Number three, turn down the volume on naysayers. We spoke about this in the beginning. Okay. There's gonna be people that just don't see your vision, right. And that's okay. Uh, they don't need to, and, and please don't waste a minute trying to explain.

You really don't have to, you don't even have to tell anybody what you're doing until it's done. Even when it's done, you don't have to, you can open a clothing brand called poo poo's clothing, brand poo poo's clothing brand. Okay. That's the name of it? And all the clothes are brown. I don't know. doesn't sound like something I would open, but you could and if you do, I'd like my cut for the idea.

Thanks. Um, I charge 10% for ideas. If you're looking for great ideas for your business, holler at Jessica vibes with a Z, and I'm happy to help. This is not an example of a great idea, but ya man, you open your store. Poo poos. Nobody knows it's you nobody knows that's your store. Your store could rake in a million a year.

Nobody will know you're making a million a year, unless you tell them that's your choice. That's your choice. Because honestly, if you told people. Hey, I have a vision. I'm gonna open a store. It's gonna be called poo poos and everything in there is brown. Now you think it wouldn't sell, but then are they not selling that pile of poo all over the place?

These kids who like to play with these plush stalls that are like poo. It's so strange to me. I don't understand. I liked strawberry shortcake growing up, you know, like her hair smell like strawberry and it was beautiful and those scratching stiff, stiff stickers. And they would smell like, like, I don't know, chocolate mint or something, like things like that.

I mean, I don't understand why the kids are playing with that, but they are, and someone's making money just like the pet rock. So imagine the man with the pet rock or the man, or the person who created the plush poo dolls, they're making millions imagine they told their family and friends and they said, well, that's ridiculous.

Why would you sell a rock? They would've missed out on the millions. If they listened. Why on earth would kids play with. Doll that looks like poo, like a pile of poo. They would've missed on millions because guess what kids are playing with it. It's weird to me. I mean, no disrespect to, to each a zone, but Hey, good thing.

They didn't tell me because I might have told them, I don't understand the idea, but it's not what the person I'm. I, I have enough business experience and emotional intelligence to know. I don't have to see the vision for it to be good for it to be market. For it to be successful. There's a lot of hardcore hip hop heads that when, um, when MC hammer came out, when a vanilla ice came out, they had a problem.

They said, hold on. This isn't even real hip hop. This is gonna kill the genre, this Tay TA you know, but at the end of the day, they sold millions at one point MC hammer and vanilla ice. They were touring together. And they were selling a million dollars a day, each a million dollars a day each. Now maybe if they had played that for Russell Simmons, right.

They sampled it off of the queen under pressure mm-hmm and I think David Bowie. Yeah, ice, ice, baby vanilla ice, ice baby. Too cold or whatever. I don't remember. The point is I don't think anyone would've been like, that's riveting, that's the song, but that's the song, right? That's the song. And it made all that money or MC hammer can't touch us.

Uh, and then boom, million dollars a day. I don't know. I don't know. Nobody knows. It's all about your VI vision and the energy you put behind your vision. So nobody can tell you, nobody should tell you. You should not allow them to tell you, you know, how you avoid that. Turn the volume down on the naysayers, on the haters, on the disbelievers.

Turn the volume down. I can't hear you. I cannot hear you. Sorry. The volume's down. It is your journey. It is your choice. Okay. Those who doubt you simply do not share your vision. And that is no reason to quit. That is no reason to quit. Why they have their own gifts, their own destiny and their own. You do not need to see theirs and they do not need to see yours.

God gave you your gifts. It is so ridiculous. And I'm not saying I haven't done it in my life and boy, do I regret it? Boy, do I regret it? And I assure you, if you do it, you will live to regret it as well. What I am saying is it is ridiculous to expect somebody who does not have the same gifts, the same genetic makeup, the same life experiences, the same, uh, outlooks on everyth.

They are not you, you are not them for them to share and believe your vision. If they do. You found a soulmate, you found somebody that gets it. Congratulations. If they don't, it's neither here or nor there cuz it's your vision. Go get it. You know, number four, celebrate quietly. What, why celebrate quietly now?

when you have milestones in business, like, okay, first million dollar products sold the millionth customers. You know, he gets this X, whatever, you can do those things, but for you personally, don't be, boasty be humble. Be humble about your success. Be happy, be grateful, and remember to give God thanks because what we're grateful for, we get more.

So it's very important to have an attitude of gratitude. Don't be a jerk about it, and don't be flashy. Flashy. Live your life. Enjoy your life. Yes, you made it. Congratulations, but just be humble and don't overdo it and put some away for a rainy day. Okay. Darlings, it's an important thing to tell you, cuz I love you.

If I didn't love you. I wouldn't tell you that. Okay. All right. And finally build your team. Okay. Build your team, including a coach like me, who will help you keep to help, who will help keep you on track. You basically just want an accountability partner, like it has to maintain your vision and you have to implement it, but you want somebody that's just there as a sounding board to help you maintain your focus.

Maintain accountability, continue to grow, not become complacent because at the end of the day, I seen D DJ col said on the, um, when they have nothing, they grind hard when they have everything, they grind hard every day, grind hard. And it's true. Like, you know, you want to keep that momentum and part of keeping that momentum is keeping a good team of people around you who are cheerleader.

Who are on your side, who are rowing the boat in the same direction who want the best for you and a coach who you know, is removed from the day to day and who can offer a fresh perspective and kind of, you know, keep you, keep you moving forward as well and keep you accountable. So, darling. You have no reason to ever give up on yourself?

Not personally and not professionally because these tips go a long way. I hope you were writing them down. And if you weren't, luckily you can listen to this again. And again, as many times as you need, till you understand how to show up for yourself and never give up and turn the volume down on any naysayers, please, they are not helping.

Okay. We don't even have to be rude. Just turn the volume down. All right. Today's quote, I am committed to my vision of a beautiful life and I will make it happen no matter what.
