Full show transcript:

Welcome to today's show. Earlier uh this morning, you and I watched the new trailer for Avengers Doomsday.

I did not know that they were making this. Oh, okay. Did you?

Oh, yeah, I knew this one was on the way. Okay. Uh this trailer is uh packed with a lot of different characters. Um what stands out for you? First of all, you said uh you saw Professor X and went X-Men. I said, Yeah, that's all Marvel. So that's all tied in. Uh what else stands out?

Um Chris Evans has some long hair. Yeah. And I kind of like a grungy, Chris Evans.

Yeah, that was a surprise.

Um let's see. What else did I do?

Robert Downey Jr. is uh Doom, and apparently he's got an accent as he's done a different voice for Doom. Interesting. Fantastic Four has a strong presence.

Pedro Pascal is in there.

Right. That's part of the Fantastic Four.

Uh yeah, it was cool to see Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart.

Right. That's fun.

Two very, very, very fantastic.

And they are like buds in really life. Yeah. Yeah. Which is super, super fun. Yep. Um Thor uh seems to be the leader. He's got a real predominant presence in the trailer. I would agree with that. Um, Okay, hold on. Loki is also here, which is kind of cool.

You said there was an ant man present. That is correct. I didn't see him, but he is he is there. Yep. Um, I did I'm just looking at the cast because I want to see who's in the cast. Yeah. Uh everybody. Alan Cumming, who I love. As Nightcrawler. Oh, no kidding. I don't know anything about like.

So the Nightcrawler movie. Did you not see the Nightcrawler movie movie? Uh in the X-Men stuff. Very, very cool character.

But I love Alan Cumming. Yeah. Oh my gosh, I love him.

Yeah, this is gonna be a lot of fun. If you haven't seen the trailer yet, uh, it's on it's online now. Uh the movie will be in theaters December 18th. People online were saying like they've thrown uh way too much info into the trailer. Um, which, you know, for what it's worth, they're trying to draw people to movie theaters, and that's been a struggle. So I can see why Disneyslash Marvel would throw in some extras uh in the trailer to kind of get you really excited to go see it. Um but I'm not mad.

No, it looks funny. I think it looks fun too. I I thought that was Rebecca Romain. It is her. She's she used to play um in the X-Men. She was Yeah. they like costumed her whole body. Correct. I can't remember what her.

I'm trying to remember what that character is called as well. But but interesting that she is in that role because they had uh what's her name, Katniss doing it for a while, too. Oh, really? Yeah, she played that character as well. Mystique, I think is the name of the character.

She's not playing that though. Oh, she's not?

But she's back into the Marvel universe anyway, as something else. Mystique was that character. Anyway. Cool.

I think it looks great. I'm excited.

The new Spider-Man movie comes out this uh not this weekend. It's 10 days away uh for the new Spider-Man brand new day. I would imagine the after credits scene in Spider-Man brand new day is going to have something very big to do with the new Avengers Doomsday. Um also of note, uh, in addition to Tom Holland as Peter Parker and Zendaya as MJ, Sadie Sink is in this new Spider-Man movie. Her character has not been revealed.

So it is not listed who she plays, what character she plays, but Sadie Sink is Max from Stranger Things is in the new Spider-Man movie. Oh, great. But as a mystery character that has yet to be revealed. So I'm really excited to see who that ends up being. Um, I think that's gonna be great. So anyway. I'm excited. Yeah, I'm really stoked about the new Spider-Man movie, and it's 10 days away.

So Because who doesn't love Tom Holland and Zendaya?

Aren't they just adorable?

They are so sweet. I love them.

She is Athena in the new Odyssey movie. I know I want to go. Um, which I I want to see as well. Um, but somebody was asking um if Athena was gonna be in love with whomever in in the Odyssey, and Tom Holland said no because she's already in love with me. So boom! Way to go, Tom. Way you go. All right, let's start today's show. Hi. Oh, good morning. Hi, good morning. Uh we just might as well wrap up World Cup talk since it's kind of uh at the end of last week. It all happened right here. We might as well just finish up and just say congratulations to Spain. Espanna. Yeah, Spain, the world.

Cup. Felicidadas. Felicidad. Felicity. Yeah, something like that. Okay. Uh congratulations.

Yeah. Spain. Uh beat Argentina one. Oh yesterday. Uh, which is uh which is a big deal. Right. One.

And that's a it's a really big deal. Well, one, it's the World Cup. Yeah. And then two, you played Argentina, who has Messi. True. Who is probably one of the greatest.

Did you see him uh leaving the field? I did not. He was he was pretty sad. His last World Cup appearance. Yeah.

And then I was saying that I felt kind of sad for him, and our son said, don't feel sad for him. He's already won like four or five.

Yeah, yeah. Argentina's got a few. Uh so Spain gets first, Argentina gets second, England gets third, and France gets fourth. That's how it worked out.

First is, or I mean, second is the first loser, though, isn't it?

Well, there's that. Uh we did watch the first half, and uh, let's talk a little bit about the halftime show.

Oh, yeah. The halftime show is Madonna BTS, Justin Bieber, Shakira, a bunch of kids. Uh trying to remember who else was in there. There was somebody else that you're not naming that I cannot think.

It was as uh as I've read online, it was a uh musical chaos. Which I thought was I I thought it was kind of cool. I liked how uh it was not just one artist. I like that it was uh kind of multiple different artists.

I like the uh Ted Lasso. Oh, yeah, yeah, that's right. Little jump in there. I thought that was cool. Um, what else happened? I'm trying to think. For real, I didn't think Justin Bieber was in the stadium.

I was some Muppets and Muffin's.

Yeah, well, and and uh Kermit and Piggy were there too. There, yeah, there were Muppets because they were playing the White Stripe song.

I'm sorry. You were kind of watching it on your phone because we were getting ready to go somewhere. Yeah. Uh apparently Ronaldo. I didn't see him. How did I miss that? Dang it. You'll be okay. Uh anyway. It was fun. It was a good time. Yeah, it was cute.

Uh, relive the unforgettable halftime show is culture, sports, and music come together. You can watch it again online. Okay. It's like 12 minutes of uh halftime.

I just need to see that part. Apparently, he's in the section with Madonna. Oh, so right in the beginning. Yeah. Okay. Okay, I'm gonna go watch that part.

All right. Well, anyway, uh, World Cup is officially done. Congrats, Spain. Yeah, it'll be back in four years in Spain and where else? There's a couple of other countries. Do not know. Anyway, it's it's headed to Europe next next time in four years. I have nothing else to say about World Cup. World Cup is done.

Stick a fork in it. Some good news. This one is from Ohio. It's from Burton, Ohio, where Hannah Bomback is a seventh grade teacher, and notice that one of her students, uh, how would you say this name? Spell it. A R I E A U N A. Uh Arun Ari Ariuna.

I'm gonna go with that. Sure. I'm gonna call her Ariuna.

Okay. Uh, and I'm gonna say her student Arya Arena Johnson was frequently missing class. She learned that her mom, Melissa, was dealing with a serious kidney problem. Hannah had also taught Melissa's for other children and wanted to help the family any way that she could. So she did exactly what you think she did, and she stepped up and donated a kidney. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Uh Hannah was not a direct match, but her donation to a stranger through the National Kidney Registry generated a priority voucher, and that golden ticket bumped Melissa to the top of the active waiting list for a living donor, giving Melissa a real shot at getting her life back. Uh, which is I didn't know that was a thing that happened.

I didn't either. Pretty amazing. Uh Hannah says that the transplant process went smoothly and is happy that Melissa and her family are getting a boost. Hannah admits that she also got a boost. She explained, uh, when you give to other people, your life is made so much better.

It feels weird because I personally have gotten so much joy out of it, and I've benefited so much from just giving a kidney. It's cool. It's so nice. I know. Yeah, really amazing. So way to go, Hannah Bomback uh for donating a kidney.

What I mean, what a huge thing to do. Yeah.

Literally giving of yourself in such a very cool way.

So I got two of these. Yeah.

My body will work with one. So that's so nice. Pretty awesome. That is good news. There I am just scrolling the internet, minding my own business, like uh I usually do, and I see a video, and I'm laughing along as I'm watching it. And the more and more I watch it, the more and more I realize, wait a minute. This is this is literally happening in I in Idaho Falls. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What is happening right now?

You sent it to me and said, Hey, watch that video, and then let me know when you see it. And that's always puts a little pressure on me. And I go, Oh, what if I don't see it? What if I don't see it? Oh. I'm going to miss out. I was hyper focused. And then I went. Did this happen in Idaho Falls? Yeah. And I it's exactly right.

Unreal. So here's the story. As far as I can tell, a group of dudes decided they wanted to have a night out on the town, but they didn't want to just uh, you know, their group had room for one more, I guess. So uh from what I I don't know where this thing exists.

I don't either. But uh they found a Michelin man, an inflatable Michelin man at I would assume a tire store. And they uh he's he's a big tall guy.

Yes, but he's got a little uh inflator motor. So they unplugged him and they put him in the back of their Jeep, and they spent the night driving around with him. It looks like they got into enough shenanigans that the state cops showed up, and they all got uh their hands on the hood of the state troopers vehicle. I didn't see that. Yeah, that happened. Uh, but they pretty much just went around town plugging him in and inflating him and taking pictures with him all over town.

I didn't he stayed floated when they drove around, they pushed him in their car floated up. No. Okay.

Because at one point somebody says, What are you guys doing? And they've got extension cords and the blower. And I'm like, uh, nothing.

and then at the end of all of the fun, they put him back just as they found him, and none the wiser, except I saw it and I'm talking about it now. Yeah. So I'm gonna I'm gonna see if I can find that video again. It was hilarious. And and share it. It's very funny.

I'm glad that they didn't ruin the Michelin man. I'm glad that he returned in one piece, but also what a good day out for that Michelin man. Yeah, yeah. You know that you know that movie Baby's Day Out? No. No, I don't. Well Michelin Man's Day Out. It's like the traveling gnome.

Yeah, no, I think he had a good time. Oh, yeah. He did. How fun.

Okay, here oh they went to eat dinner with him. I remember that part. They took him like I think it was to Burger King or something, and we're sitting along with him eating dinner.

Yeah, this has been now um covered by like news stories all over the place. Oh see, but they they were able to somebody knows somebody because now that I'm watching the video, they have security footage of them loading them up.

I didn't realize that they had the security footage as part of their video.

Yeah, you're right. But they do. Interesting. Interesting. Interesting. Yeah.

It was funny. I gotta chuckle. It is a good time. I got it. And uh and here's the thing harmless little fun. Yeah.

And uh, you know, they put him back. That's the big deal.

Yeah, don't steal him. Right. Just borrow him. Yeah.

Take take him for a ride. I got the video right here. Michelin man's not out. I'm gonna I'm gonna share this video on our socials so uh you can see it on our Facebook page. It's it's a good time. It's a party. It is a party. So I wish I was there with them. You do?

Yeah, had a little bit of FOMO. I was like, I want to go.

You want to hang out with the the dudes and the Michelin man? Yeah. I'm fun. I know take me along. We all know that. He is still a little inflated when they jam him in the car. Oh, yeah. I was worried he was gonna get popped. Yeah. I don't I he got around town classy 97 KLCE on Facebook is where I'll post it.

We took a walk on the green belt with our daughter over the weekend, and it's funny the things that your kids get upset about. We were happily walking along. There were three of us side by side on the green belt, and we walked past a group of people, and she goes, six wide on the green belt.

She was not happy. You can't do that. And they it was a large group. There was this very, very large family uh that was walking, and there were probably man. There were at least a dozen of them. Yeah. It was between 12 and 20 people.

For sure. It was a large group. And they were indeed six or seven wide, taking up the whole green belt. And it's like, and none of them wanted to move over, or like let's go down to four, maybe.

Make a make it longer line instead of wider. It was that was something else. And so yeah, we kind of got pushed over to an edge, and there were only the three of us and the dog. And so yeah, we kind of had to single file ourselves to make it past the large group. And as we got past, she immediately was so frustrated. Six wide, we're doing this.

Yeah, she immediately was so mad, and I went, Whoa, I didn't even notice. But she did, and she was like, You can't do six wide on the grid. It's too many. It's too small for six wide. We're pushing it at three wide.

Well, they do have the like line, you know, to divide the path in half. Uh, you know, so there is that.

It's like driving a tractor down the road.

Right. Six wide. What are you doing? They didn't even have a sign or flags or anything. No pilot car.

Exactly what I was gonna say.

I know, because we finished these other sandwiches and I knew that.

Except where I would have said the car with the lights, because I didn't pilot car. I couldn't remember that it was called the pilot car. So I'd have said they didn't have that car in front of them with the lights, and then you would have said the pilot car, and I would have said, Yeah. That's exactly right. That's exactly right.

Well, yeah. No, I that I mean, what other green belt etiquette do you have? I would say if you're if you're on a bike or a scooter, use that bell. We need to get better about bells.

We really do. I don't think it's rude to

re-just to go bing bing because uh especially when people have headphones on and stuff and they're out running or walking.

If they had headphones on, they're not gonna hear a bell anyway.

It depends. Depends on how loud they have them, but it's better like you end up spooking people. Yeah.

I get spooked really.

Did you see when I accidentally scared that woman at the grocery store? No. We came around an aisle and I went, hey, uh, to you. And uh, and there was an older couple, and she had kind of pulled to the side by one of those little cardboard bin things, and he had gone past maybe the bread aisle or whatever, and I came around the corner by the tortillas, and I went, hey, and she went, ugh, like startled, and I was really sorry. So, you know, you don't want to be scaring people.

You can't shout at people, Josh.

I was shouting at you, but she was not prepared. Can't shout at me either. What are you doing? Trying to get your attention. Uh green belt etiquette. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

Well, just use your bell.

Yeah, I mean stay in your lane. be known.

Don't get a little too wide on your cleanup after your animals.

Yes, that's a good one. That's a big one. And uh have fun. I guess, yeah.

Yeah, be responsible. Have fun.

We did see our doctor.

Yeah, that's always weird. Again, a thing that you don't expect to have happen. You're just walking the green belt, mining your own business, and then boom, there's your doctor in normal clothes.

I'm like, I what normal clothes.

You want to tell everybody what you said to him? Because you were embarrassed and said you were gonna be thinking about it for a long time. I don't think it's anything bad. Because after we waved and and he's walking with his wife, and we're walking, and we're like, hey, good to see you. You turn around as he's already passed, and you say working on our health, Doc.

It's a nothing wrong with that. Working on our health, Doc. Which is what we were doing, having a walk.

But I think the thing that really clenched it was I did a little bit of a jazz hand, like working on our health, doc.

Look at us, doctor, doing what you told us to.

Out getting a little exercise. Getting some heart health. That's right. Doctor. Yeah, look at me walking. And then I went, Oh no. Why did you say something dumb? I don't think it was. I think uh that was an appropriate thing to say to the doctor on the green belt.

This is a story about a man that I know that is I don't I don't necessarily know what to call him because I don't know if he's necessarily a doctor or if he's I just don't know what his title is. He's helping me out with a foot brace. I need a foot brace, so he's like an ortho.

I don't know. And I probably should have done some research. I just call him my brace guy. Okay. You told me, you go, just start using his name. He goes, just call when you tell me about him, yeah. Just say his name. Just say his name. Because every time I go, oh ortho test or thoughtist.

Okay. Or if you are doing a prosthetic, which you're not, that would be a pro prosthetist.

Okay, I'm never gonna call him that. Yeah. I'm just gonna call him my brace guy. Orthoist. Orthodist. Okay. I'm never gonna say that. Uh no. So I would come home and I would say, Oh, hey, my brace guy said this about my brace. Like it should be coming next week. And you were like, stop calling him brace guy. Just say his say his name. Right. I'd be like, okay.

And then now you say his name after you say brace guy. So you can't. Yeah.

I just don't want any confusion. My brace guy, his name. Okay. Clearly. Got it. Okay. He gave me my brace on Friday. I got a new foot brace. Yeah. And he gave me the bag that it goes. He goes, Do you want the bag that goes into it for all your ratchet straps? And I go, uh Yeah.

I was just wondering what I could do with all my ratchet straps. I knew it. Like you saved the day. I did bring it home for you. Yeah. You said I don't need that bag for my ratchet straps. And I said, that's rude. I gave you a gift. A ratchet strap bag gift.

You did give me a gift.

What did you say about your ratchet straps?

Oh, I just uh I I just leave them under the seat.

They're really nicely like uh keep yours very put together.

Can I just for a minute pause and talk about taking care of your ratchet straps?

I hoped you would.

Because it's one of it's one of the simpler things to wind them up. And and I roll them and I tie a little knot thing and they're stored away underneath the seat. Like if I need a ratchet strap in a hurry, I'm the guy.

Like I got 'em. And I can throw a ratchet strap on real quick. But it's because I take the time after I'm done with them to roll them back up real nice and put them away. And I understand not a lot of people have that time.

You do that with a lot of things though. Right. You you really do take care of the stuff.

Extension cords are put away. Uh hoses and wires are always wound up. Like I I really, there's just a few real OCD things that I have. You do. And ratchet straps is one of them.

Ratchet straps and and cords. Yeah. Some of that stuff you asked me to get for you, and then I'll help you use them. Like you'll say, Oh, can you go plug that in? Or do whatever you can hook that. If I am ever like required to put any of that away, I would not know. I

would not know your method. And so I just leave it in a pile for you because I go, I I'm gonna try and put it back the way that you had it, but I'm gonna fail. And then you're just gonna have to do it anyway. So I don't. And I just put it in a pile and I go, you'll take care of that, because you have a certain way that you like to do it. Yeah. And I've told people that before too. If people have like helped you with some cords or wires, yeah, they'll be like, oh, let me wind this up for him. I go, don't bother.

So co-workers make me a little bit crazy. Because I do have uh a co-worker who I was working with him and his toe straps, and I went, dude, what is going on here? What is happening right now? It

just takes more time because you have to untangle everything and before you can use it. And he's like, nah, I just throw them in the back of the truck. They're gonna go. They're

good to go. And I'm like, all right, that's it's your straps, man. Like, I'm not gonna tell you how to live your life, but that was crazy. But then we have like station equipment that people will use and borrow, and that's crazy when that stuff comes back, and I go, who taught you how to wind an extension cord? They do that thumb elbow thing, stop it. Stop it. If you thumb elbow anything to wrap it up, put it down. Let somebody else do it.

I learned that from you very early on in our relationship. I was wrapping up something thumb elbow, and you go, What are you doing? And I went, This is the way you wrap stuff. No. And you said, no.

I had borrowed a cable to somebody uh that I worked with years ago, and my face turned just pale white, my stomach turned inside out when I watched them hold it in their hand and just wrap it tightly around their hand and then hand it to me back, and I went, uh.

Oh. It was awful. It was awful.

Never ever borrowed anything to that person ever again.

Oh wrap it up. And it was all like, it wasn't even like you can do that with a rope. Rope you can wrap around your hand. That's fine. But it wasn't even like orderly and nice. It was just here you go. Oh.

You are definitely, I don't even know what to call it. A cord, a string. Something. I don't know. You are a snob about it. Not a snob. You just have a way to do things, and it is the right way. You're absolutely right about the way that you grab.

That's the right way.

It is a big thing. Because they all look nice and organized and compact. So I threw that ratchet strap bag away. Don't need it. Did you? Yeah, don't need it. You didn't want it? I

don't have any ratchets. It's a good bag. What would you use it for? Too late. It threw it away. It doesn't matter anyway. You know how sometimes there will be those couples challenge where you have to try and get your spouse out of the house, assuming that they're unconscious.

Oh, well, like uh I fell on the floor, pick me up and put me on the couch, even. Yeah. Like those kinds of things. Yeah. Yeah.

So we attempted that on Friday. Well, our daughter attempted it. Yeah, I don't know. I was on the couch in the basement.

Right, we're in the theater, and she tried to pull you off of the couch. By my legs. Yeah. It did not go well. No.

And then she tried to do it to you. Right. Did very I didn't move. No, you didn't move at all.

So then the two of you went, wait a minute, let's see. If we had to get him out of here in a fire, could we do it? The answer is no. The answer is paramedics and firemen better be on the way quick. That's the answer.

Sorry, I really did my best. I tried my hardest. You know that I did. Do I? Did I Josh? I was working so hard.

Josh, settle down. Listen. I think there's an element of adrenaline that would kick in. Oh, yes. In in real world. Yes. That might give you a little extra strength.

Absolutely. 100%. Yeah. 100%. I would do anything that I could. You might be banged and battered and bruised, but I would get you out of that house. Right. I would do anything possible. I'd be like, I'm saving this guy. I'm saving this guy. This guy is going to be safe. I'm saving this guy. It's happening. Oh man. I got you to the edge of the couch. Right. But then I was like, I don't know where to go from here.

Right. Because now you've got to lift me because if I if I just fall down lower, that's even harder. Exactly. Right.

And I didn't know the steps to take from that point. Once I got you to the edge of the couch, I got your legs off the couch. Your body was kind of hanging on the couch. And I'm like, oh, I don't know where to go from here. Right.

I could fireman carry you. I'd like to see that. But I didn't think that was gonna be possible. I thought about it for a brief second and went, could I do that? And then I went, no. I'd like to see you try. I gotta go. I

gotta go to the I gotta go lift some weights. Is that is that it? Yeah. Here's the thing. I have no upper body strength. Legs, yes. And I was wrestling with our daughter that night, and she couldn't get me because I was leg. Leg.

I called it because of leg. I called it the gates of leg. You did? Yeah, yeah. You can't get past the gates of leg. Yeah. Oh, okay. All right. It's mostly just kicking. Because I'm not sure. That's your that's your defense. Well, that's what you do with your legs. Right. I can't. It's little sister moves. Oh, absolutely.

I can't fight with my arms, but watch out. When my legs are out, you better. You better run. Okay.

Well, neither of you could drag me off the couch successfully. And you certainly couldn't carry me. And then to try even get me up the stairs. Yeah, right. Yeah, right. I will save this guy. I will almost save this guy.

We went swimming with our daughter yesterday, and we realized that we have the same five to six pool games. Games you play in the pool? Yeah. Every time we go to the pool, it's like, okay, let's do this game. Okay, let's do this game that we always do. And then once we hit all of the five or six that we typically play, then we go, no, you guys, you just want to bob around now.

That's what it that's what turns into. Okay, here are a couple of uh a couple of games. Okay. Uh the that we could try. We didn't play Marco Polo. No, but that's I feel like that's uh that's a hotel pool game. Yeah.

That's the pool that we were at was too busy to play that.

Uh and sharks and minnows is a similar one. It's like tag in the pool. We've never played that. Uh so there's that.

We do here's what we play. We play diving sticks. Diving sticks. Wow. We do handstands. Yep. Which listen to me right now when I tell you that that is my number one show off. If

I'm ever in a place where there's a pool, I'm gonna be like, I'm just thinking I go to a handstand. No, I know. You do that. Because I think I'm really good at it. It's one of the very few things that I know that I'm good at. Okay. And so I like to show off. And so I go, I'm just gonna handstand. And then people will say, Oh, wow. They do. No one ever seen it.

They really do. They stand back in amazement. They go, look at her. Have you ever seen a pool handstand like that?

Okay. Then we do what do we do?

Uh how far can you push off? Yeah. Uh like how far can you go underwater uh in with one push. Right. And ever I think everybody plays that game. That's a good one.

Then we do the whale breach.

Uh, that's not really a game. That's just a thing that you do where you just like push off the bottom and flop your body. That's I wouldn't that's called swimming. I think we should you should try silly salmon better. Like which is where you actually have like a wave to your body.

Like you're swimming upstream. Why didn't you say that yesterday?

Well, because uh you were fine with whale breach, but also I'm gonna say no one else did blowhole noise except me. You won. Then we do sit at the bottom. Which no one can do but me. No, because I can't sink. Right.

Uh okay, which that was a fun new game that we tried where I tried to see if I could save you in the pool.

The answer to that one is similar to the couch situation. No.

Again, I tried very hard. You don't know how to tread water and you also sink. I mean, you're just sitting there and you just your body just goes, nope, do the bottom. Right.

You are a sinker. I don't float. No. So I tried to see if I could tread while keeping you and me afloat. The answer is no. Negative. Then I tried to float on my back and you tried to lay across me.

Like a like a pool noodle. No. No.

Is the answer. No. You sunk us both. Yeah. This is why I wear a life jacket. Yeah. We're we're dead in the water if you ever go down.

I wear a life jacket when I'm not in the pool. If I go into wild waters, I wear a life. Well, when you go fishing. So if I'm on a boat, yes. If I'm waiting, I don't typically, because I don't go beyond my waist.

One slip, Josh.

Where am I fishing that I'm that close to an edge? Most of the water I fish in is below weight like waist or below. Okay.

I always get worried when you go alone. And then if I go with you, I'll get lost in a book or something, and then I'll look up and you're gone. And I go, he's dead. Where'd he go? He's gone. And then I have to like look for you, and then I go, Oh, he's over there. He's fine. Because you wander.

Well, yeah, I'm not gonna stand in the same spot the whole day.

Okay, so that I counted one, two, three, four, five. Five games that we do.

What about atomic whirlpool? What's that one? Now you have to have the right kind of pool for this, but you get everybody to run in a circle around the edge of the pool in the same direction. And

then you go like three, two, one, and everybody goes the other way to fight against the big current. Cool. Yeah, that's a backyard pool game. Yeah.

You gotta have one of those above ground pools to do atomic whirlpool. That sounds fun. I

saw a video of a couple of kids that had turned their backyard above ground pool into a wave pool somehow. Uh the one in the middle had like a floaty donut. Uh-huh. And then there was another kid in the pool, and they the one in the middle had started jumping up and down to get the rhythm of the water to move with him and the pool noodle. Uh-huh.

Or the uh floaty. And the whole pool, the water was now a big wave. And the other kid was riding the wave around the edge of the pool. Very cool. Yeah. Oh man.

I'm gonna play those cool pool games.

You already talked about dive sticks and rings. Yes. There's invisible bottle. What? You fill a clear two liter soda bottle with water, and then you put the lid on it and you toss it into the pool and it becomes invisible. And then uh You have to find it. You have to race to find it. Ooh, good. So the only thing you'd be able to see is the lid because the lid is not clear.

What I know is that you're the winner of the diving sticks game. Because I sink. Yes. Yep. That's why. Yeah. You guys gotta learn how to sing. You can get to the bottom real quick. It's dangerous. I told you over the weekend there was some drama between a couple of dudes because that's what dudes do.

That's dudes do drama. Super emotional. Who's having drama? Oh, the dumbest people alive. Okay. Tom Brady and Logan Paul.

Oh, okay. But you told me about this, but then you said you felt like this was a publicity stunt.

Absolutely is.

Why are you giving it uh why are you giving it time?

I just want everybody to know how much I hate both of these dudes. Wow.

That's a strong word. Uh but okay. So uh what did they do to you personally? Uh nothing. Okay, good. All right. Makes sense. Checks out. Why do you why don't you like them?

I just think Tom Brady's overrated. But he's the best football player of all time. Yeah. Is he though? Because he cheated. Okay. Oh, he cheated that one time. Yeah, but a cheater is a cheater. Okay. You

only have to cheat one time to be a cheater. All right. So you might be the best football player, but you also cheated at football. Okay. You cheated at the thing that you're best known for. Okay. Stop it. And plus also, that's not even your real jawline. Okay. All right.

And uh, and what did the Paul boys do?

I don't know. I don't know any of the things. It was this Logan Logan, yeah. Logan Paul. He's the one that fought Mike Tyson, right? Uh-huh. I don't know either. I don't care. Who's the other one? Aaron? Jake. Jake. Right?

I think it's Logan. One of them's. Logan and Jake? Yeah, they're just dumb. I just they walk around with some like this machismo nonsense, and I don't like it. Okay, so apparently both of them were at

Mike Tyson fought Logan Paul's younger brother Jake Paul. So Jake is the one that doesn't the fighter.

I'm never gonna remember who's who, and I don't care. That's fine. Uh they were at a Fanatics Fest and they got into like a like, you know, how when dudes like get closer and closer when they're like talking smack and they're like oh!

And they were facing off.

Tom Brady kind of slapped him. Yeah. As you do. When you see a Paul brother, you wanna slap it. When I first watched it, I went, Yeah. This is I want them both to lose.

Okay. All right. Well, here's I like when you when you get to learn about somebody. So Logan Alexander Paul.

We don't need to.

I just I like that it says is an American influencer, profession, professional wrestler, entrepreneur, boxer, singer, and actor. What? Out. What? Choose a lane.

Get out of the lane. All right. I don't think anybody's asking for more of you. Just find a different procession. Get into like plumbing or something where no one has to see you.

Now Jake is a an American professional boxer influencer and former actor. He has a much smaller resume.

Okay. Anyway, so I first saw this fight and I went, oh, it's going down. And then the more I read about it, apparently Tom wants to get into the WWE. Yeah. And so this is a big publicity stunt. Yeah, oh yeah. And totally agree. Yeah. And

then they were at, they were shown at the World Cup yesterday, and they were sitting in the same area, and they were like presenting lewd gestures to one another. But it looks so silly. I was like, well, this is dumb.

Yeah, it's made up. Of course it is. They're just trying to hype up something that doesn't exist yet so that they can get people to think there's some beef. They're just acting. Yeah.

Also, whose pants are they wearing? Their dads? They look like they're wearing their dad's pants. They look like little kids wearing their dad's clothes. I'm watching this video. They're like, oh yeah, we gotta be separated. Yeah.

Oh, come on. That's ridiculous. And that's why I'm mad about it, too. Because I'm like, you're so dumb. Yep.

And it's all just for publicity, and you just gave it a bunch of extra.

It's just because I want everyone to know. Ugh. Yeah. Don't fall for it. I should keep a leader.

a list. It's just to get people to watch a wrestling match.

You know, in Mean Girls, they have that burn book. I need to make one. I'm gonna put it on the wall. Here's who's on.

You're gonna make a burn ball.

Yeah, here's Husana. It's just a bunch of dudes that I don't like. Tom Brady. Tom Brady. The Who Brothers? The Paul Brothers. The Paul Brothers. Travis Kelsey. Okay. So far.

My name's not on the list.

I'm doing great. You'll never be on there. Woo! I was bugging Emory, our daughter, as you do. You have to. When your kids are kids and they're teenagers and they get annoyed by you, yeah, you have to bug them when you get the chance. So she was quietly minding her own business, and I said, Hey. Knock knock. What's up? Started a bugger. And then she said, Who invited you? Whoa. And I said, I don't know, but they keep asking me back. Wow. And she said, Do they?

You got loads of attitude. I know. Which here's the answer. What was she doing when you were bugging her real quick? Oh, she's just laying in her bed. Yeah. So yeah. Who invited you? She's like, I'm just buying my own business. And I said, I did.

I invited it.

Let me tell you, here's a thing that happens with you. What? This is a little uh little secret about Chantel. When she gets bored, it's everybody else's problem. Nobody's talking to me. Nobody's doing anything. I'm so born. Poke poke poke poke. Yeah. Yeah.

But if I'm not bored, and somebody comes to annoy me, get out of here. Yeah. No kidding. Like, I don't know this. Man.

What uh what is that called?

I don't know. I don't know what you call it.

I call it being a little sister. Attention deprived. I'm just a baby.

Yeah, nobody ever gave me any attention. I think that's wrong.

I think you probably got plenty, but you were like, just leave me alone. I don't want to hang out with any of you people. Has to be on my terms. And then you would say, I want to hang out with you people. And they're like, no. You're crazy. Look at you. That's what they would say.

Yeah, you have to hang out with me on my terms. Right. When I'm ready. It's not a hangout time right now. But maybe later when I'm finally bored, then I'll come hang out with you. Yeah. That is true.

It's exactly how it works in our house. That is definitely a So who invited you? Everyone. No one. One person was like, you know who I would like to have around is the one who annoys me while I'm just trying to relax. Trying to do my own thing.

Do you think when people I just imagine people making a guest list to a party, somebody that we know, and they're like, Josh and Chantel. We like Josh. He's great. Oh, whatever. Josh on the list. What about that Chantel? Yeah. Depends on what kind of mood she's in.

Yeah, you never know what you're gonna get with that one. She's a wild card.

Ooh, that's my new middle name. Wild card? Chantel wild card.

I think that one's way more fitting than danger. Wild card is accurate.

What makes you think I'm a wild card? Because you never know.

You're you could be over here, over here, over here, doing nothing, doing everything. You could you're all over the place. And that's great. That's an endearing characteristic. You're a wild card. It's a great middle name. Yeah, I am. Chantel wild card. Look at you. Whoa, jazz hands.

Jazz hands is a new season of quarterback on Netflix. Quarterback is a show that uh showcases a couple of NFL quarter packs. I got a little bit addicted to this show on the first season with Kurt Cousins.

That's right. This is kind of uh what was your gateway into football fandom. Yes. Correct. This this show uh was Kirk Cousins, Patrick Mahomes, Marcus Mariona. Marcus Mariota, and someone else.

I feel like it was just those three, wasn't it?

There's three or four, but either either way.

That's the first season is what got you uh our son liked the show, wanted you to watch it. You got into all the emotion and drama and the families and

the community stuff, and really got into what makes these football players more than just the players on the field. Yes. And you got really kind of interested in that. And

then you became a fan of uh Kirk and Julie Cousins, and then uh he was the quarterback of the Vikings, and that's how you became a Vikings fan. Correct. And then you like Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. The

whole thing. You were really super bought in on the Vikings, and then Hawkinson. A lot of stuff changed, a lot of people moved around, and the next season you've been keeping up. It's been a few years now, and they've got a new season out, and we started watching it. Uh, and we were two episodes in.

It's so good. Uh, I just really like this show. Yeah. This this season they're focusing on Baker Mayfield from The Buccaneers. Right. Jaden Daniels.

Who let me just say really quick, Baker has a mouth on. So if you're planning on watching this show, understand that Baker Mayfield has quite colorful language.

He's a little of a crazy one, isn't he?

Intense. I could that guy.

Like him just a little bit.

He's a little bit. Wild man. Talk about a wild card. Yeah. He is out there. All right. So yeah, Baker Mayfield.

Jaden Daniels from the Commanders. Correct. Cam Ward from the Titans. Yes. And Joe Flacco from the Bengals.

Now Joe Flacco is an interesting one to follow. He's like 40 years old. He's one of the veteran quarterbacks who's still playing the playing the game. Yeah. So it is interesting to watch him. Now our son is a big Cincinnati Bengals fan. And uh and so to watch the stuff going on with Joe Burrow and the Bengals this last season and Joe Flacco getting picked up as their quarterback from the Browns. All of that stuff is like where we're at in the show. And so uh our son is very much like, yes, I'm excited to see the behind the scenes of when this stuff happened. Uh so that's kind of fun.

It is kind of fun. I just really like the ins and outs of like how they prepare for games and the stress of their situations. And at one point there was two, they were playing a game. I think it was Baker Mayfield playing somebody, and he got in a little TIFF with another football player. And I was like, uh, these boys are so emotional. It is It is true. It is true.

Uh anyway, yeah, great show. Back on Netflix. Uh the new season has has been eventful so far in the first two episodes. Um they're about an hour long each. It's like an eight episode run, something like that. We just um they're pretty good. Do

an episode a night. Yeah. It's fun. But

again, please be prepared for colorful language to fill your house if you decide to watch the show because it is unfiltered football adrenaline. Yeah. And it is colorful. It is intense. Baker has a mouth. And I went, whoa, bud, slow down. You're a little bit crazy. It's a bit nuts.

But they showcase his wife and he's got a little daughter. Yeah. I like seeing them as human beings. Which they are. Isn't that something? Isn't that something?

I do like uh and you were kind of talking about uh laughing about old man get off the field when Joe Flacco's telling the new rookie quarterbacks that they're what they're doing is ridiculous. Yeah. Because uh uh what's his name? Um I cannot think of his name right now. Uh the the guy who went like fifth round in the draft.

Couldn't even tell you, Josh. Oh my god. Sorry, I have no help.

Anyway, he was wearing a visor. He's a quarterback and he was wearing a reflective visor. Oh, Shadur. Yeah, Shadur Sanders, thank you. And uh and Joe Flacco's like, dude, come on. Like it's ridiculous. And he's like, No, it's cool, man. It's it's really cool. He goes, You're doing it for looks. It's not for function, there's no reason. Like, knock it off.

And I'll get it. Quit being a young punk. You're a quarterback. Like, come on, take off the visor. You look ridiculous. And he's like, No, it's cool, it's cool, it's cool. Yeah, they're like, come on, Grandpa Flacco, get off the field.

That's what you and I took, I took the side of Joe. I'm like, Joe's got a point. These young punk kids need to knock it off. They're doing this for show. That's how I felt. I went, get off my lawn. I was like, eh, let him.

There's no harm in what they're doing. Get off the field, Gramps.

All right. Well, I I felt like I I I resonated more with Gramps in that moment than with the youths. I went, now he's got a point. Hey, I just wanted to uh say the house looks great. Thanks, Josh.

Desperately, desperately needed. Yeah? Yeah. We spent a lot of time on Saturday getting some to-dos done because it was looking pretty sad.

Yeah, a lot of a lot of Saturday. I had a big project. I wanted to get knocked out. I had uh got all the pieces to put a drip system uh in the front flower bed so that your flowers can thrive up front too. Yeah. Uh because I've got the garden drip system and I and I finished the entirety of the fourth zone in the backyard. So I only have like one little stretch to do in the backyard, and then the whole the whole thing will be watered, which is amazing. So um just a few supplies I need to wrap up that, and then the whole yard will be watered. Um, well, other than the grass, because well, grass. But

I did get the front the front yard water system installed, which is good. Uh-huh. Wash the truck, uh-huh, uh, which felt productive. Uh cooked several meals and breakfast. You cooked all of the meals. Yeah. Because ew. Yeah. I don't like to cook. So I did that. Uh delicious.

You made some really good burgers. You made some what else you're doing.

I really like those burgers were great. You did good. Um, and I made a couple of breakfasts. I made uh I don't know. I did some cooking. I made a homemade guacamole. Yes.

I did some stuff. Uh I like that. That's

fine. Um, and I made a bunch of it with the food that I harvested from the garden, which I always like. That's always fun. I sprinkled some earwig dust, trying to save some plants from the earwig battle that we've been having. I think it's working. I would think a little bit. I need to take um, I mean, I'm giving it a little bit of a couple of days to see what happens.

I meant to go outside last night and see what the situation was, but I forgot. Yeah.

So I got earwig dust going. I framed an art. That was kind of cool. I've been meaning to do that since what was it, 2008? Yes. I've had this print that a friend of ours did uh in 2008. And when he gave it to me, he said, look, I have one rule, and the rule is that my art has to be framed.

Well, I finally got around to it, Jordan. So thanks, buddy. Um I framed your art and uh I'm gonna hang that on the wall, which I'm really excited for. It's very cool print. During the winter, we repainted our basement and we have on our stairwell, we didn't know what we were gonna put down there, and then we finally decided we're just gonna put artwork.

Yeah, all the way down the stairwell will be artwork from us and our friends and other people and what yeah, it's gonna be really cool. Um, and art that we like and find and buy, whatever. Yeah, it's just gonna be filled with all kinds of cool art. And

then um on the actual, like above the stairs. I'm hoping here in another couple of weeks, I'm gonna be able to capture some amazing photography. I have big hopes for myself. Oh, I hope I can hold it.

pull it off. I have big hopes for you too. Don't mess up.

I know. And if I can get it done right, I'm gonna have these big tall prints in the top of the stairs, which I'm really excited about. It'll be really cool. I installed a TV, the kids didn't even notice. We our living room TV had gone out. Well,

long story short, anyway. The uh we had a TV go out, and so we were like missing one in the living room. And it was weird having a TV stand there for months with no TV on it. Uh so we got a smoking deal on a TV and installed that, and uh, that's where we watched some TV over the weekend, which was fun. Yeah. Um, what else?

Uh, I think that's it. You did a lot. We went. We took a motorcycle ride. It was a good weekend, honestly. As I'm thinking back, like we got some productivity done. We had a little bit of relaxation in there. We had really good family quality time. Right. It was awesome. Yeah.

Solid weekend at home. Ten out of ten. Which, you know, we could have gone camp. I did want to go fishing. I did not get fishing in there, but it was so hot. I went, I'm gonna have to fish from like dawn to noon if I'm gonna fish at all because then it's gonna get too hot and it's bad for the fish. So I didn't get any fishing in there. It's

okay. That's about what was missing, I think. Everything else was good. So 10 out of 10. Yeah. Would weekend again? Can we soon? Let's weekend again real soon. Would you rather this or that?

Would you rather have to share one phone forever or one car forever? We have done both of these things at different times in our lives. We had one car for a while. Yeah. We had one phone for a while.

I think the phone is the right answer here. Uh and and it would be annoying because like we're separate at work or whatever, but I still have like ways to communicate. Yeah. Uh one car is a struggle. Yes,

it is. It's very challenging to get everybody where they need to be on time. I could you imagine the four of us trying to get to work and to get what a lot of people

are. No, it's not the four of us. We're just sharing between you and I.

Still, I mean, it'd be fine to get here, but then we'd have a lot of running around. I mean, uh, you know, there's ride share and other stuff, but man, that's tough.

I I remember because we've done one car before, and it was rough. Yeah, it's hard. Especially when you were doing mornings on a different radio station. And you had to wake up. And I was like, uh, do I need the car today? Or can I just walk? And that was before a lot of these ride sharing companies.

You're correct. Even around the early 2000s. Uh-huh.

And it was like, well, let's see. How hot is it gonna be? We can walk to the store. Yeah. Having one car really stinks sometimes.

It's tough. It's a big challenge. So uh I'm gonna choose the one phone thing just because of how inconvenient it is to have one.

I know, but it would be so inconvenient not to have my phone either. Who has it? Do we switch off on days? Exactly. What do you need it for?

You take it for half the day, I'll take it for the last half of the day. I use my like I text work people all the time. I know. I text my sister all the time.

And and just imagine this like uh she doesn't have the phone today, I do. Can't answer that question. I don't know anything about it. You'll have to text her when she has the phone.

You just answer as if you were me. Yes. No. You volunteer me for everything. That's right.

Are you available to do this thing? I'll be there early. You. Yeah. You can count on me. No way. That'd be hard.

That would be hard. I'm picking uh I'm gonna share a car. Because, aww.

Oh, here we go. No, not because aw, no.

Car rides together. Everywhere. Everywhere. Oh boy. I get to pick the music. Surprise.

I get to be told how to drive. Woo. Dibs. Dibs on being told that I follow too closely and don't break soon enough. Dibs. It is gonna be a hot one today. That's what there's gonna be a scorcher. Uh they're saying that it's gonna be uh the hottest day we've had so far. Ugh. Is that is that what I'm understanding?

I think that's everything I've read. That's what it says.

Very hot today. Sunny this afternoon, sun and high clouds this afternoon. Caution advised if outside for extended periods of time. High today. One hundred degrees.

Okay. I feel very, very bad for the people who have to work outside. And I hope you have lots of hydration. I hope you get to take lots of shade breaks. No kidding. Uh if not, let me know, and I'll have a stern talking to you with your boss. That's right.

High close to 100 again tomorrow. It's gonna be a hot one again. Record tying temperatures tomorrow with a stray thunderstorm. Nothing like a hot thunderstorm. Yeah. And Uh and then uh it's just hot. Like that we're in like the the hottest part of the summer. So enjoy these mid upper 90s. No, thanks. Through the week and the weekend and into next week.

Also, your pets. Think about your pets. Oh, please. Please don't leave them outside. It gets too hot. And uh stay safe, everybody.

Stay hydrated, find the shade, take frequent breaks, find air conditioning. I know we talked uh a little bit about it uh a week or so ago. I know they do like cooling shelters and stuff. Yes. That

kind of stuff is set up. Seek those areas if you need them. Uh just be careful and uh and try to make sure that like during the hottest part of the day, which like right now we're at seven. What I found right now. It's gonna get hot in another couple hours.

The Pocatello and Idaho Falls, yeah, the library was on the list of their cooling shelters. And listen, hey, we all know the library is always a cool place to go. Yeah, so cool. It is the coolest. Yeah.

Uh so be careful. And um, and make sure you uh take care of yourself and your pets and your kids and your people. Don't leave anyone in a car.

Oh, please do. Do not do not.

Do not leave anyone in a car. And if you're gonna take your dog on a walk, make sure the little feet don't get burned. It's hot. Yeah. It's hot on the feet. You wouldn't walk on that pavement with your bare feet. You know how hot it is. Don't make them do it. Yeah. Put them boots on.

Or wait till it gets cooler. Or wait till it gets cooler.

Or carry a squirt gun and every step they take, spray their little feet.

Oh, like a rose petal path. Yeah. Yeah.

Uh anyway. Um, yeah, be cool. Be cool today. And uh, we'll be back tomorrow. Do you know what tomorrow is?

Little day before our weekend begins.

That's right. Yeah, tomorrow. It's a very short week for us. Tomorrow's our Friday. I'm so excited. Uh, because we've got some celebrating. We'll talk about that tomorrow. Okay. We'll talk about that on tomorrow's show. Have a great rest of your Monday. We will see you tomorrow. Goodbye. All right. Bye. Bye.
