# De Stroopwafel

Jan is een man. Jan woont in Nederland. Jan heeft een vraag. De vraag is groot.

Jan zit in de tuin. Hij drinkt koffie. De koffie is warm. Hij eet een stroopwafel. De stroopwafel is lekker.

Jan denkt na. Hij vraagt: "Wat is Nederlands?"

Jan kijkt naar de stroopwafel. De stroopwafel is rond. De stroopwafel is zoet. Jan zegt: "Dit is Nederlands!"

Maar dan komt zijn buurman. De buurman heet Ahmed. Ahmed is ook een man. Ahmed woont ook in Nederland.

Ahmed zegt: "Hé Jan! Wat doe jij?"

Jan zegt: "Ik denk na. Ik denk over Nederland."

Ahmed zit ook in de tuin. Ahmed drinkt ook koffie. Jan geeft Ahmed een stroopwafel.

Ahmed eet de stroopwafel. Ahmed zegt: "Mmm, lekker!"

Jan zegt: "De stroopwafel is Nederlands."

Ahmed lacht. Ahmed zegt: "Weet jij het zeker?"

Jan kijkt naar Ahmed. Jan zegt: "Ja! De stroopwafel is van Nederland!"

Ahmed schudt zijn hoofd. Ahmed zegt: "De stroopwafel heeft suiker. De suiker komt niet van Nederland. De stroopwafel heeft kaneel. De kaneel komt ook niet van Nederland."

Jan kijkt naar zijn stroopwafel. Jan zegt: "Oh."

Ahmed zegt: "En de tulp! De tulp is het symbool van Nederland."

Jan zegt: "Ja! De tulp is Nederlands!"

Ahmed lacht weer. Ahmed zegt: "Nee Jan. De tulp komt uit Turkije."

Jan kijkt naar zijn tuin. In de tuin zijn veel tulpen. De tulpen zijn rood. De tulpen zijn mooi.

Jan zegt: "De tulpen komen uit Turkije?"

Ahmed zegt: "Ja! Lang geleden."

Jan denkt na. Jan kijkt naar Ahmed. Jan kijkt naar de tulpen. Jan kijkt naar de stroopwafel.

Jan zegt: "Dus... wat is dan Nederlands?"

Ahmed lacht. Ahmed zegt: "Wij zijn Nederlands, Jan. Jij en ik. Wij wonen hier. Wij drinken koffie. Wij eten stroopwafels."

Jan lacht ook. Jan zegt: "Dat is een goed antwoord."

Ahmed zegt: "Nog een stroopwafel?"

Jan zegt: "Ja, graag!"

De twee mannen zitten in de tuin. Zij eten stroopwafels. Zij drinken koffie. Zij zijn buren. Zij zijn vrienden. Zij zijn Nederlands.
