Hello and welcome to the Transfer News Podcast! I'm Archer, your host, and it's Sunday, February eighth, two thousand and twenty-six. We've got a packed episode today with plenty of transfer gossip swirling around the Premier League, so let's dive straight in.
Starting with Liverpool, and there's some interesting news regarding their pursuit of talent. Liverpool are reportedly set to rival Manchester United for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton. Both clubs are circling the young English talent, and this could develop into quite the bidding war if both decide to push forward seriously.
Sticking with Liverpool, there's an update on their new signing that's rather unfortunate. Jacquet has suffered a serious shoulder injury after agreeing a move to Liverpool. The timing couldn't be worse for Arne Slot's side, who'll be hoping this doesn't sideline their new recruit for too long.
More Liverpool news, and this time it's about potential departures. Inter Milan want to take Curtis Jones on loan for the remainder of the season. It would be an interesting move for the midfielder to gain more regular first-team football, though Liverpool may be reluctant to let him leave mid-season.
And one more from Anfield regarding contract situations. Ibrahima Konate's contract extension is reportedly not yet settled despite ongoing discussions. Liverpool will be keen to secure the French defender's long-term future given his importance to their backline.
Moving across to Everton, and there's interest from abroad in one of their strikers. Juventus are reportedly keen on signing Everton's Beto. The Portuguese forward has had a mixed time at Goodison Park, and a move to Serie A could appeal to all parties involved.
Over to Aston Villa now, and Unai Emery appears to be busy in the transfer market. Aston Villa are targeting AC Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek as they look to strengthen their squad. The English midfielder could provide valuable depth and experience for Villa's push on multiple fronts.
Villa aren't stopping there either. They're also reportedly interested in Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta. The French forward has been in good form, and Villa clearly see him as someone who could bolster their attacking options.
Now to Chelsea, and there's some significant news regarding one of their big-money signings. Chelsea are reportedly open to selling Enzo Fernandez after his move from Benfica hasn't quite worked out as planned. It's a remarkable turnaround considering the massive fee they paid for the Argentine World Cup winner.
More Chelsea news, and this time it's about incoming business. Chelsea have reportedly made a move for Jacquet, though as we mentioned earlier, there are injury concerns surrounding that potential deal. Liam Rosenior clearly wants to put his stamp on the squad.
Moving to Manchester United, and there's some intriguing managerial speculation. Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is reportedly on Manchester United's radar as they consider options. With Michael Carrick currently in interim charge, United are clearly assessing their long-term managerial plans.
Over to Wolves now, and there's interest from Spain in one of their young talents. Atletico Madrid want to sign Wolves midfielder Rodrigo Gomes. The Portuguese youngster has impressed this season, and European clubs are taking notice of his development under Rob Edwards.
