Daily(ish)

I’m admitting that I may have bitten off more than I can chew this week, juggling interview conversations, a livestream of my editing process, alongside paying work that has to take priority. This isn’t a request for support, just a reminder to myself to put constraints around side projects so they don’t spill into everything else, even though I enjoy the work and hope it pays off eventually through new clients or opportunities.

I edit podcasts so you don't have to. I live in Saskatchewan so you don't have to?

What is Daily(ish)?

Challenging myself to record a podcast episode a day for my 50th year on this planet.

Hello, and welcome to Dailyish
for Thursday, November 5th, 2026.

I'm Chris, and I'm recording
an episode every day for this,

my 50th year on the planet.

And I'm here for this episode
just to confess to you that I may

have bitten off more than I can
chew with this podcast project.

Not to scare you that I'm gonna stop
it, but I'm just admitting to myself

that I took on too much this week,
with both the interview conversation I

did today that'll be out on Saturday.

Great conversation.

Nothing wrong with that.

But then also doing a live stream of my
editing process yesterday, which will

hit my YouTube channel sometime next week

All these are very good things,
and I'm really enjoying the work

that I'm doing with the podcast.

It just doesn't pay the bills, obviously,
and so paying work has to take priority

And again, this is not a call for, uh,
more support or anything like that,

just a more of a public admission to
myself that, stop taking on so much in

side projects and make sure you have
sort of constraints around them so that

they don't leak out into other things.

Because I, like I said, I genuinely
enjoy doing that kind of work, and

I do feel like it's gonna pay off
eventually in some way, whether it's

finding different work, different
clients through the podcast, et cetera.

But it still can't be
a priority, obviously

unfortunately for the guest, but
fortunately for me, someone had to

cancel their conversation this week,
which would've been recorded and then,

you know, published in a couple weeks.

it also happens to coincide with hockey
starting up for one of my kids, and

so that's like two nights a week.

Happened to go out to, uh, see
"You Can See Everything Again" with

a friend who hadn't seen it yet.

And so the week has also just felt
kind of busy and full as a result.

You can listen to my review of the
movie, by the way, earlier, an earlier

episode, but I'll just say that it
was actually worth seeing again.

Not that you have to see it again,
but I was debating whether to go

again, and I'm actually kind of
glad I did 'cause there was a lot…

Even though I knew obviously where it was
headed and the, and some of the things

that were gonna come up in the episode.

In the episode?

In the movie.

Too many podcasts on my brain.

but it was still really enjoyable to
watch and now knowing some things to

look for and trying to figure out what's
going on in this scene and what, what

is this person actually meaning, and
watching some of the other secondary

people in the various scenes and their
reactions to things and I still don't

know if spending three hours with those
people is, like, beneficial to your body

and your brain and your emotions, but it
was definitely a good exercise and, and

we got to go for drinks afterwards and
discuss with friends, which is always fun.

All right, I'm gonna stop now.

Keeping this short so I can get it
out today and still have time to

go make supper and figure that out.
