Part 1
Jurassic 5 – Concrete Schoolyard
Drugdealer – Madison
Stella – Titanic
Kevin Holliday – Out of Me
Perfume Genius – Photograph
pinkpirate – Do You Want It All?

Facts
Jurassic 5 – Concrete Schoolyard
- 20 years ago today, Widespread Panic headline the first Bonnaroo Music Festival, held on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee. The inaugural four-day event - named for the Creole slang for "good stuff," borrowed from a Dr. John album - focuses on jam bands and folk acts, welcoming Trey Anastasio, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Jurassic 5, and The String Cheese Incident to the line-up.
- Concrete Schoolyard was from J5’s simply named EP in 1997.
- Bonnaroo, ever go? I think this would maybe be a bit early generationally for you, maybe.
Drugdealer – Madison
- Per Stereogum, Drugdealer, the retro-minded pop-rock project of Michael Collins, is back with a new song today, the first since 2019 album Raw Honey.
- Collins says this new tune marks a change in his vocal approach, a modulation upward after Annette Peacock suggested he was singing below his range. Apparently, this was a eureka moment for Collins in the creation process.
Stella – Titanic
- Not to be confused with the actual character from overrated movie of the same name on both, the artist hails from from Athens, Greece, and spells the moniker with a Greek sigma for the S. Σtella has proven herself a strong storyteller, writing old-school pop paeans to the pangs and raptures of love, per the artist’s bio.
- Titanic is the final single to drop prior to the Up & Away LP dropping this Friday, and is Stella’s debut album on Sub Pop.
Kevin Holliday – Out of Me
- For those unfamiliar, the artist is based in Brooklyn, drawing inspiration from legends like Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye within the music.
- This artist says this song’s candid lyricism explores his personal experience being in a long distance relationship during lockdown. “It was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences I’ve ever had,” he explains. “We got so close, but all of our conversations were over Facetime. It was hard to decipher where reality started and ended. I unexpectedly learned alot about myself during this time.”
Perfume Genius – Photograph
- For those unfamiliar, this is the ongoing solo project of Mike Hadreas that just seems to get better and better. Hadreas’ latest LP Ugly Season is out as of Friday.
- A really intricate shapeshifter of an album, do check if you like what’s coming up, highly rated after release which Pitchfork described as “ecstatic, healing, modern, and queer.”
pinkpirate – Do You Want It All?
- This is an artist out of the UK true name Caitlin Brown. In this song, they’re describing a relationship with excessive give and take, but not enough of the latter for the protagonist.
- Pinkpirate really had a lovely debut last year with the Nowhere EP if you would like to hear more.

Part 2
Volleyball - Kitua Fortune
Peli Gene - Young Love
Echo Frame - Is It Easy
Lure Division - Night Alive
Grazer - These Days (Pass Me By)
coldroses - Fade Away

Facts
Volleyball - Kitua Fortune 3.16
The band of Londoners who thrive in creating timeless tracks of fuzzy melodies and diverse multi-media releases are back and harnessing the sunbeams of summers past in the hazziest fashion. Continuing their mission of manifestation, the band pulls you into their waves of swirling guitar, full bass and decisive vocals which warn of the passing of time. Kitua Fortune is the second single to their upcoming EP, due August. The name? Idk.

Peli Gene - Young Love 3.29
Peli Gene is the solo project of Gabe Parker. All songs are produced from his bedroom in Tampa, Florida. By mixing new indie pop styles with nostalgic 80's atmospheres, Peli Gene provides a fresh sound in the indie dream pop experience.
Young love is a personal song of Peli Gene, written about a certain someone in their life. It's so sweet, my teeth are rotting.

Echo Frame - Is It Easy 3.26
From Vancouver, Canadian musician and producer Echo Frame takes inspiration from all corners of the music world and swirls them into a bottomless pot of indie, soul, surf-rock, disco to create blissful, genreless euphoria. He comes back with a new single ‘Is It Easy’, faithful to his uplifting style made of indie guitars and heady choruses. This song will be your feel-good one, bringing you a dose of sunny nonchalance.

Lure Division - Night Alive 3.00
Hey, looking for a nice track to drive and feel like a main character in a 2010's teen movie? Well look no further! Night Alive is for you to feel that chill, but uplifting melody whilst drive your way down home on a summer night. The song itself has a simple meaning of never giving up and finding a way to work things out. Wholesome and good to listen, my new favorite.

Grazer - These Days (Pass Me By) 2.56
Melbourne dream pop outfit Grazer have shared details of their debut studio album ‘Melancholics Anonymous’, as well as sharing its lead single, These Days. The album serves as the official follow-up to the band’s 2020 EP. In a press statement, band member Matthew Spiller explained that the song’s creation was a joyful experience in experimenting with more digital instruments. It's amazing to see what modern world can do.

coldroses - Fade Away 3.54
A band from Philly, PA, coldroses is a band who started releasing music since last year! As a pretty new fresh band, they've already given us some neat tracks to listen to. Fade Away teleports us into a rpg daydream with a melodic synth intro and carries us away into the cloudsas their voice echos along the lyrics of life fading away.

Part 3
Cautious Clay - Puffer
Jack Flanagan - Try
Honeywhip - It's All In Ur Head Man
Deep Throat Choir - Witches
Night School - Juniper
CAPITOL - Taste of Cindy

Facts
Cautious Clay - Puffer 2.33
Cautious Clay has followed up the deluxe edition of his Deadpan Love album with a new single titled "Puffer".Cautious Clay said, ""Puffer" is a track deeply personal to me. I found a metaphor that feels akin to our modern world: people often behave like pufferfish, in order to appear less vulnerable. In doing so this of course often has the opposite effect, in becoming more visible."

Jack Flanagan - Try 4.26
Try’ simultaneously recalls 2010s radio favourites Katy B and Example and classic indie. The record would have benefited from more of this - it gets a bit ballad-weary at points - but it’s clear Jack has a lot to say. The song is the 11th track to his debut album, Jack Rides The Sky. It is a magical coming of age record that comprises 12 tracks written over the last decade, some finished and some left as initial sketches of ideas.

Honeywhip - It's All In Ur Head Man 3.27
Now heading down deep, we find ourselves in Honewhip's, It's All In Your Head Man. As the song title suggests, the single describes the thoughts and emotions that cross through a person's mind when a misunderstanding, and possible unnecessary worry is involved. Listening to it myself, the LA based Duo really nailed captured such a dark moment into something normal.

Deep Throat Choir - Witches 3.13
Deep Throat Choir is an all-female singing collective formed in 2013 by Luisa Gerstein. Having played in the bands Landshapes and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, the project was driven by the simple desire to bring music making back to a few basic elements: just voices and drums. Starting off their newest album, 3am, witches has a persuading element to its sound, really making our artists musical witches.

Night School - Juniper 3.49
Oakland, CA quartet Night School -- which features members of Velvet Gentlemen, MOGGS, Fawning and more -- will release their debut album, INVOKE, on September 1. Juniper has Lots of harmonies in a '60s psychedelic pop style. The album is best described to be bedroom pop since the members have recorded from their homes.

CAPITOL - Taste of Cindy 3.44
Covering a beloved classic takes courage and talent, but Ontario dream pop quartet Capitol were up to the challenge, when a tribute project invited them to participate in doing a song. Ultimately They chose “Taste of Cindy”, by Jesus and Mary Chain. “Our hope was to reinterpret rather than imitate, because no one can capture the same magic,” the band commented. Turning the song to a more lo-fi bouncy tune. Ya know what, it ain't that bad.

Part 4
Grace Ives - Lullaby
Mickey Cake - Tame
Plastic Punk ft. Ivy Ru - You Know It's Love
King Princess - Cursed
Mt Joy - Johnson Song
George Bloomfield - Goodnight

Facts

Grace Ives - Lullaby 3.07
Brooklyn-based musician Grace Ives has announced the follow-up to her 2019 album 2nd. The new one, Janky Star, is out June 10. The album was recorded in collaboration with co-producer Justin Raisen. “Everyone has a Bad star tattoo/stick n poke, that’s never perfect, or is rough around the edges,” Ives said in a statement. “A beautiful thing to think about is that stars on earth look like blobs but in space really defined structures.” a little to deep for me to comprehend.

Mickey Cake - Tame 3.37
Now, I had a hard time finding Mickey Cake's info, as the internet misunderstood them as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. So, Mickey Cake plays music that will last millennia. But it’s built for the here and now. Based from Philly, the four man band played under the radar for three years until they've recorded their self titled debut album, Mickey Cake. The reason behind the name? Unknown. However I do appreciate the horrifying image of Mickey Cake's, especially the ones I found online.

Plastic Punk ft. Ivy Ru - You Know It's Love 2.30
It's When your crush says “yes.” When emotion rushes to your head. When “like” is suddenly too small a word to describe the way you feel. That’s when You Know It’s Love. Apparently? I'm out too sure personally, however it seems the artist does so. Plastic Punk is a rising electro-pop artist who began his professional musical career in Kentucky. With a distinctive sound sparked by street smarts and refined by academic insights, Plastic Punk refuses to stay in just one lane of music.

King Princess - Cursed 3.20
King Princess can sum up her new single “Cursed” with three words: “Toxic Friendship Anthem." The artist says “Cursed” resulted from a real-life encounter: “I had just seen somebody that I hadn’t talked to in a really long time. And I had that fresh trauma [and] inspiration to go off. I was like, ‘I’m writing a song about a toxic friendship!'” straight to the point King Princess, and I appreciate greatly.

Mt Joy - Johnson Song 3.44
Mt Joy is finally out with their newest album, Orange Blood! Written during the pandemic’s cessation of regular touring for most bands and venues, this latest installment by Mt. Joy expands the range of their psychedelic-tinged folk. Now, Some people may wonder what exactly Johnson is to be described as here… and to be honest, nothing's shared to be known about. Listening to the lyrics, it seems like a "interperate is as you like" kind of… piece. Still a good track tho.

George Bloomfield - Goodnight 5.07
In Goodnight, our artist George Bloomfield continues to expore his experiences of grief a few years down the line. The song and self made stop motion animated music video takes us to lovely quiet moments before sleep where the line between reality and dreams blur, and memories take on new shapes with vivid imagination. I just hope with this song everybody would have a goodnight.
