Happy New Year. Welcome back to the Word Woman. I'm so excited you are here and new beginnings and opportunities that God is doing in our lives this year. Today's episode is a gentle but powerful one.
We're talking about transformation, not the loud kind, you know what I mean? The big declarations, sudden re-interventions. Look at me now, moments. The pressures to perform or prove growth is also not the rush kind either, forcing healing, pushing yourself to be over it, comparing your timeline to others, or expecting overnight change.
but it's the quiet, sacred work God does in us over time. God is changing you in ways that you don't need attention, approval, or urgency, but they are real, holy, and meaningful. This kind of transformation heals identity, clarifies purpose, strengthens faith, prepares you for what's next.
If you're listening today and you feel like you don't quite recognize yourself anymore, certain things no longer fit the way they used to. And no, I'm not talking about clothes. Or maybe you feel caught between who you were and who you're becoming. This episode is for you.
There is a moment in every woman's life when God begins to ask her to release something, not as punishment, but as preparation. And sometimes what he's asking us to release is not a person, a place, or a role.
Sometimes it's an old version of ourselves. The scripture today comes from 2 Corinthians 5 17, which reminds us old things have passed away. Notice it doesn't say some old things. It says old things.
I'm pretty sure you know what they are. And if you really don't know, ask the Holy spirit to reveal it to you. He will. That can feel both comforting and unsettling, but let's sit with that truth and allow God to speak. Letting go is hard because we often confuse familiar with safe. We hold on to old mindsets.
old coping mechanisms, old labels, old limitations, because they've been with us for so long. You may have been the strong one who never needed help, the quiet one who stayed in the background, the responsible one who carried everyone else, the woman who survived but never fully healed.
Those versions of you served a purpose for a season. But hear this clearly. What sustained you before may not support you now.
God does not waste seasons, but he also does not ask us to live in them forever. Transformations often begins with a holy discomfort,
a sense that what once fit now feels heavy. That doesn't mean something is wrong with you. It means God is growing you. One of the most beautiful things about God's work in us is that he is not forceful. He shapes, he molds, he invites.
Scripture tells us we are the clay in the potter's hands and the potter never rushes the process. God is not trying to erase you. He's refining you. The woman you were did the best she could with what she knew. Survived seasons that tried to break her. Learned lessons that brought wisdom. She's not being rejected. She's being honored and released.
Sometimes we resist letting go because we think it means losing ourselves. But in Christ, letting go actually means becoming more fully of who you're meant to be. God doesn't rush transformation. He walks us through it. And often he begins by asking, are you willing to trust me with who you're becoming?
Let me share a few signs that God may be inviting you to let go. What once energized you now exhausts you. You feel restless, but not lost. Old patterns no longer bring peace. You're drawn towards stillness, reflection, and clarity. You sense God calling you deeper, not louder.
These are not signs of failure, they're signs of transition. Transitions can feel lonely and that space, that in between, that's holy ground.
Let's pause here for reflection. You may want to grab a journal or simply sit quietly. Take your time with this. There's no rush. Ask yourself, what old mindset label or belief is God asking you to release? Maybe it's I'm too old to start again. This is just how I am. My best years are behind me. I missed my chance.
Bring it to God. You don't have to force release. You simply have to offer willingness. He doesn't want perfection. He wants your heart.
I invite you to write or say aloud a declaration of who you're becoming. Not who you hope to be, not who others expect you to be, but who God is shaping you to be. Second Corinthians five seven says we walk by faith, not by sight. So be bold with it. Call those things into existence as though they were. Romans four 17.
Here's a simple framework you can start with.
I am becoming a woman who trusts God with her future, honors her past without living in it, and walks forward with peace, courage, and purpose. Personalize it. Take your time. Declarations are not about pretending. They're about aligning with God's will.
Let's pray together. Lord, I thank you for the work you are doing in her life. Thank you for every season that shaped her, taught her, and strengthened her. Today I ask for grace to release what no longer fits the woman you are forming. Help her to let go without fear. Help her to trust without hesitation. Remind her that transformation is not a loss. It is love at work.
Cover her with peace as she steps forward and let her know she is not behind, she is becoming. In Jesus' name, amen. Thank you for joining me on the Word Woman. If this episode blessed you, share it with another woman who may be standing in the middle of becoming.
