Facts
The National – Deep End (Paul’s in Pieces)
- As discussed last week with Dan Lloyd on our Thursday AMPED segment, the 2nd part of First Two Pages of Frankenstein dropped Beyonce style last week completely unannounced.
- The album is titled Laugh Track, with the title joint featuring the omniscient and everyday more powerful Phoebe Bridgers, and the full album is available everywhere now if you haven’t given it a listen yet.
Bakar – All Night
- Just out last Thursday is an album we’ve been excited to hear for a while now, as Bakar is always unexpected as far as style goes, but one of the most interesting young artists out there right now.
- This would be the follow-up to Nobody’s Home, released last year via Black Butter Records.
Crumb feat Melody’s Echo Chamber – Le Temple Volant
- Interesting collab here, and a true one indeed, as both bands were involved in every step of this track’s creation.
- The two bands are fans of one another, so to them it only made sense that they’d make a new single together. No larger announcement for either band with this, just a standalone single for now.
zzzahara – Peppermint
- Another album from an artist we very much enjoy just dropped last Friday, as the LA-based Zahara dropped their sophomore LP on Friday titled Tender.
- We really enjoyed listening to this over the weekend, so we gotta give it a shout to you as well. Also available via bandcamp in green vinyl, for all you wax addicts out there like me.
Petey – Family of Six
- The artist out of Detroit just dropped their sophomore LP on Friday titled USA.
- Petey, who appears via Terrible Records, rose to prominence posting original songs on social media, beginning to post songs and get noticed during the pandemic.
yeule – cyber meat
- And finally, we end with the artist out of Singapore that people cannot stop talking about or looking at, as yeule just dropped softscars over the weekend.
- It feels almost like the future is now with this record, as it’s just so different from anything out right now, and undoubtedly our pick of the week.

Part 2
Jean Dawson feat SZA – NO SZNS
Faye Webster – Lifetime
Rocco – hold me, never let go
Little Dragon with April + Vista – Slumber
Montell Fish – I Just Wanna Feel Your Love Again
Drinking Boys & Girls Choir – Red Shift
Otoboke Beaver – S’il Vous Plait
Otoboke Beaver – Don’t Light My Fire

Facts
Jean Dawson feat SZA – NO SZNS
- This is a new standalone that just dropped last Friday, and the new visuals feature the complex and traumatic realities children face growing up.
- The new music video, directed by the Mexican-American singer and longtime collaborator Bradley Calder, features the ups and downs of growing up while trying to keep your inner child alive.
Faye Webster – Lifetime
- The extra soft touch artist out of ATL has just released this, which is Webster’s 2nd single of the calendar year.
- The song & video dropped simultaneously last Friday, with a music video directed by Kyle Ng of fashion collective Brain Dead. It also features Webster’s own older future self, or lifetime in the process.
Rocco – hold me, never let go
- This is an artist certainly new to me and I’m sure many of you out there tonight who’s based in LA, but it seems the rest is rather a mystery.
- Rocco just dropped the Her Favorite Flowers EP on Friday if you want more of where that tune came from.
Little Dragon with April + Vista – Slumber
- Things never stop for Yukimi Nogano & company, as the Grammy-nominated band just dropped a new album in July called Slugs of Love.
- Now, we have a new EP titled Slipping Into Color, which came about as Little Dragon met April + Vista during the still ongoing NA tour.
Montell Fish – I Just Wanna Feel Your Love Again
- This is another young artist that like Bakar we’ve been paying keen attention to.
- Last week saw this standalone drop, which explores the longing for love and the desire to experience the comforting touch of a loved one.
Drinking Boys & Girls Choir – Red Shift
Otoboke Beaver – S’il Vous Plait
Otoboke Beaver – Don’t Light My Fire
- These two bands have been on fire the past months all over the world, with tour stops in Europe, Asia, and North America in the process.
- You can check them out at Rolling Hall on Nov 23.

Part 3 – Poppin Off!
Quevedo feat Saiko – Buenas
Feid feat Rema – BUBALU
Doja Cat – Agora Hills
OneRepublic – Mirage
David Kushner – Dead Man
070 Shake – Black Dress
Kylie Minogue – Hold Onto Now

Facts
Quevedo feat Saiko – Buenas
- These two artists have truly hit the big leagues, not just within their own borders but internationally, drawing in other notable industry figures eager to collaborate with them.
- Until this weekend, the song had been teased in Spain during dual live appearances from the artists, garnering deserved huge hype along the way. The sky is the limit for both of these on-the-rise artists out of Espana.
Feid feat Rema – BUBALU
- Seemingly an artist who can do no wrong right now, Colombian rapper Feid just released another heater over the weekend, this one featuring a cross-continental collab with Nigerian sensation Rema.
- The afrobeats arrangement here is what’s interesting, as Feid flexes a new area of music to perfection, with millions of fans going gaga on social media over the weekend.
Doja Cat – Agora Hills
- Probably the biggest album to drop this weekend is Doja Cat’s fourth, which not only heralds a new sound for the artist but also introduces fans to Scarlet, the artist’s alter-ego and namesake of the record.
- The album itself isn’t lighting the fans or critterati’s hair on fire, but very solid scores since release.
OneRepublic – Mirage
- This is a new tune for the OST to the upcoming Ubisoft game release Assassin’s Creed, of which this is the titular track.
- The popular long-running series heads back in time for this iteration, and the band used that to create this tune in the process of writing & creation. Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, is available on Oct 5 for all the major game consoles.
David Kushner – Dead Man
- A new tune from the Chicago-raised LA-based on-the-rise artist just dropped over the weekend, just a standalone for now, but certainly a good one.
- The artist states on a social media post that it’s hoped that the song will help you through the times of silent struggle that only you are going through, which pass nobody else’s ears but stay between yours.
070 Shake – Black Dress
- A really cinematic new joint from Shake, which features a video that is part survivor part rock star.
- This is the lead single to the upcoming 3rd studio album from Shake, but we’ll have to wait for further details on that as to title and release date.
Kylie Minogue – Hold Onto Now
- And finally, a new album just dropped from Kylie Minogue on Friday, and we’ll end with this tune for this week’s pop stuff.
- The album is titled Tension, and is Minogue’s 16th studio album to date, getting very solid scores on metacritic thus far, so give it a shout if you like the upcoming bump.
Part 4 – Fresh K Cuts
Young K – With You
Yoonsoyoung – hibihibi
Balming Tiger – Kamehameha
Hoody – Lonely
YUJU – DALALA
D.O. – Somebody
The Dinosaur’s Skin feat Summer Salt – If I Say I Love You

Facts
Young K – With You
- Earlier this month, we saw Young K drop a solo album Letters with Notes on Sept 4.
- The DAY6 star has just dropped this new 7” single over the weekend, presumably left on the cutting room floor of the LP, which features the instrumental on the b side.
Yoonsoyoung – hibihibi
- Now, this is not to be confused with the famous classical violinist of the same name who splits time between Barcelona and Seoul along with whatever sumptuous setting she happens to find herself.
- No, this is a budding young artist who made debut back in 2018, and has since only released one other standalone in 2019. But now, Yoon is back with this new single, so hoping things are getting on track.
Balming Tiger – Kamehameha
- Not sure what’s up with this band and all of their supposed debut albums, but to each their own.
- The band are billing the upcoming January Never Dies as their official debut, and this tune is inspired by a song sung during a Korean drinking game, and it compares the feeling of being drunk and confident to the Dragon Ball finishing move of the same name.
Hoody – Lonely
- A new single from the ever-popular rnb singer-songwriter just dropped last week, which as usual is composed, written, and conducted by the artist herself.
- More of an international than local phenomenon, Hoody is adored abroad, and the video shot outside of Korea reflects that.
YUJU – DALALA
- Of course, for anyone keeping up with the boy and girlband pop scene in Korea will know YUJU as a member of GFRIEND, making debut in 2015.
- YUJU signed with Konnect Entertainment in 2021 and has since made records as a soloist.
D.O. – Somebody
- This is from a record that just dropped over the weekend titled Expectation: The 2nd Mini Album.
- D.O. of course is a member of popular group EXO, and as a soloist has also proven extremely popular, with a couple of solo albums since 2021 along with scoring several series OST’s.
The Dinosaur’s Skin x Summer Salt – If I Say I Love You
- This is a Taiwanese-American collab joint, but our focus is of course on the American half with Summer Salt, as the band out of Dallas made their live debut earlier this year in Seoul.
- Of course, our Korean contingent in the equation is Summer Salt member Eugene Chung, who’s one half of the founding duo.
