Venus Castleberg:
Hello everyone, and welcome to The Awakening Adventures, where we hear real stories from real people who’ve experienced spiritual awakenings and what they were guided to do with their new awareness. My name is Venus Castleberg, also known as the Home Whisperer, where I use my gifts to help real estate agents clear the energy from stuck homes so they can sell with greater ease.
My guest today has been on one of my other shows before, and I’m so happy to welcome him back—Mark Leinhart. Once a student of grief, loss, tragedy, and trauma, today a teacher of aspiration, inspiration, rehabilitation, and transformation. This man truly wears his heart on his sleeve and is here to serve. I’m honored to have you back. Welcome, Mark.
Marc:
Thank you, my friend. It’s great to see you again. Happy New Year—2026, the Year of the Horse.
Venus:
I love that you started with that. Can you tell us what the Year of the Horse means?
Marc:
You can approach a year through many lenses—astrology, numerology—and I like to combine them. Numerologically, 2025 was a 9 year, which is about completion. It’s also associated with the Year of the Snake—shedding old skin, releasing what no longer serves.
In 2026, when you add the numbers together, you get a 1. That makes it the Year of the One—new beginnings, leadership, starting fresh. When you layer astrology onto that, it becomes the Year of the Horse. The horse carries power, momentum, and truth. It can be gentle or aggressive, and we’re already seeing that energy play out globally. It’s a year to saddle up, hold on, and let the horse clear paths forward.
Last year cleared the way. This year leads the way. It’s about stepping into new opportunities and beginning a new nine-year cycle, just like the seasons.
Venus:
I was very ready for that 9 year to be over. It felt like a lot was completing. I was actually in a 13/4 death year myself, and it felt very accurate.
Marc:
That makes sense. Death years are also endings—rebirth through release. Sometimes we have to let parts of ourselves die in order to be reborn.
Venus:
I handled it with grace, but I’m curious—when did numerology and astrology become part of your path?
Marc:
They came later. When you awaken, one thing cracks you open. Along the way, you gather tools—like a surgeon choosing instruments for a procedure. Numerology became one of those tools for me years after my awakening.
My awakening wasn’t gentle. At 27, I lost two brothers in the same week—one to murder and one to brain cancer—and later my father-in-law to multiple sclerosis. Those events were the TNT that blew my life apart. They rewired my brain—what we now call neuroplasticity—and changed how I perceived reality.
It wasn’t a blissful awakening. It was dark. It was grief. But like a caterpillar dissolving in a cocoon, something new was forming. I always tell people: be careful what you ask for. Awakening can come through trauma.
Venus:
People often say, “I feel like I’m going crazy” when they awaken. Can you speak to that?
Marc:
Absolutely. Society treats “losing your mind” as a bad thing, but many great teachers—from Plato to Rumi—spoke about losing the mind to find the self. Often what’s being lost are learned behaviors and conditioned beliefs.
There is true mental illness, and mental health matters deeply. But questioning reality, identity, and old structures doesn’t mean you’re broken. Sometimes staying stuck and repeating the same patterns while expecting different results—that’s what I’d call madness.
Venus:
Your life changed with one phone call. Can you share that moment?
Marc:
I was a Coast Guard veteran and firefighter EMT, living a very “normal” life. One Sunday afternoon, I got a call that my younger brother had been murdered. Three days later, my older brother was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. I went from burying one brother to being told another was dying—all within the same week.
That shattered my understanding of life, death, and God. I questioned everything. But years later, through grief work, therapy, and honoring loss, I can see how those events shaped my purpose—helping others through grief, death, and life after death.
I realized my loved ones weren’t gone—they were alive in energy, love, and communication. If you ask, they respond—not with booming voices, but through signs, symbols, and synchronicities.
Venus:
Do you still talk to your brothers?
Marc:
Yes. Just recently, on the anniversary of my brother Todd’s passing, I asked for signs. Within 24 hours, I watched a movie—The Life of Chuck—about a man dying of the same brain cancer my brother had. That wasn’t coincidence to me. That was communication.
Energy follows intention. Ask, believe, take a breath, receive, and perceive. If you’re open, communication finds a way.
Venus:
You’re known for your psychic and mediumship work. How do you receive information?
Marc:
Everyone develops differently. We work with the clairs—clairvoyance (seeing), clairsentience (feeling), clairaudience (hearing), claircognizance (knowing), and more. Most people begin with seeing and feeling.
In readings, I set intention, invite spirit, and allow the clairs to activate. It’s a triangle: the medium, the sitter, and the spirit world. Trust and validation build the connection. Every reading is unique.
Venus:
You studied this deeply. What would you say to someone who can’t afford formal training?
Marc:
It starts with intention. When the student is ready, the teacher appears. You don’t need money or institutions to begin—just willingness, courage, and curiosity. Sit. Ask. Listen.
Some people are born open. Others awaken through life events. Either way, it’s a choice. Children are naturally intuitive until society teaches them to shut it down. We’re all capable of reconnecting.
Venus:
What kinds of readings do you offer?
Marc:
I offer psychic readings, mediumship readings, sound healing, and combinations of those. Sessions can be virtual, phone, email, or in-person. All booking is handled through my website, marcleinhart.com. Listeners can use the code THEDIAMONDWITHIN for 20% off.
Venus:
Thank you, Mark. You truly have a servant’s heart. I always learn so much from you.
Marc:
Thank you, Venus. What you’re doing matters—especially now. We need lighthouses. We can always choose kindness, service, and compassion. That’s how we find the diamond within.
Venus:
