Beer, Booze & B.S. Podcast

Troy Castellano joins Beer, Booze & B.S. to reveal how an Isanti, Minnesota guitarist ended up playing on Tommy Lee’s Methods of Mayhem album, inside Tommy Lee’s Calabasas home studio—and facing a $250,000 Los Angeles record deal he ultimately walked away from.

From opening for Cheap Trick, Styx, Warrant, Slaughter and FireHouse to leaving Minnesota for Nashville, Troy Castellano’s music career is packed with rock stars, record deals, wild parties, dangerous misunderstandings and unbelievable stories that sound like they came straight out of a movie.

In Episode 23, Chrissy and Paul sit down with their longtime hometown friend Troy Castellano at Frontier Liquor in Zimmerman, Minnesota, for a raw, hilarious and unforgettable conversation about the highs, risks and realities of chasing a lifelong dream in the music business.

Troy reveals how a Guitar Center contest led to producer Scott Humphrey discovering his guitar work—and eventually placing Troy’s guitar parts on Tommy Lee’s Methods of Mayhem album, A Public Disservice Announcement.

Troy later traveled to Tommy Lee’s house in Calabasas, California, listened to the finished album inside Tommy’s private studio and heard Tommy tell him, “Dude, you’re all over it.”

But that is only one chapter of this story.
