What is Charted?

Like a master surveyor, Jesus gives us clear directions to find a fulfilling, purpose-filled relationship with Himself - a map to the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Charted is a daily devotional written by the junior class at Fountainview Academy (Class of 2019). Based on the book Steps to Christ, this book explores the path to the Originator and Provider of Genuine Joy. We don't have to be confused about the way. The certainty is in the journey: divinely Charted.

God is the source of life and light and joy to the universe… And

“Please, get out. Get out! GET. OUT.”
Silence reigned supreme (for about six seconds), then the air
was filled with her laughter once again. My heart was pounding as the
air became tense—my temper thermostat was about to explode.
I had spent the last 29 minutes trying to arrange my fairy lights
in the most aesthetically pleasing way possible, and after hundreds of
failed attempts, it finally resembled the design I had wanted to outline
on my wall. Not three minutes after I was done, a clumsy person
(whom I happen to call my best friend), barged into my room, jumped
on my bed, and managed to pull the lights completely off the wall.
Disbelief filled me as I stared at the lights now sprawled
across the bed. All day I had waited to put them up, and in the process
had battled pages of English homework, difficult people, and lastly, a
hard workout. Then, just as I felt somewhat restored and happy, Lian
zoomed into my room and dragged my emotions down with the crash
of my lights.
Before Lian plopped onto my bed, I had warned her to be
careful, but she had completely ignored my request. Similarly, I often
ignore Jesus’ call, allowing the words and actions of others to pull
me down. Even though I might not be able to see Him from beneath
the confusions of life, He is waiting to pull me back up so that I can
continue to spread His light.
