Your story news in New Delhi. I'm Neha Punia. U.S. President Donald Trump says he's holding off on further strikes against Iran subject to the rapid agreement of a new deal. This comes on the heels of U.S. media reporting indicating that Washington and Tel Aviv were set to start a new bombing campaign against Tehran this weekend. Jagruti Dave has more on the president's latest climbdown.

The US was planning to start a harsher bombing campaign this weekend, according to media reports. President Trump also repeatedly warned of imminent action.

Then late Saturday night, this Truth Social post— the US president saying he would cancel the attack subject to being able to rapidly make a deal at the request of Iran and other Middle Eastern countries. Mr. Trump said the deal would include the immediate, complete, and total opening of the Hormuz Strait and an end to Iran's nuclear threat. Tehran denies requesting a pause in U.S. strikes, according to Iran's state media. But the Saudi Press Agency confirmed Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman called President Trump urging dialogue to reduce escalation.

Japan's economy minister has pledged to step up two-way communication with financial markets to maintain trust in the country's fiscal sustainability, as Tokyo and Washington confirmed their first joint currency intervention since 2011. The coordinated action to halt the yen's slide to 40-year lows saw Japan sell as much as $59 billion last week, while the US Treasury bought yen worth between $5 and $10 billion last week, according to Reuters and the Financial Times. The Bank of Japan held interest rates at 1% on Friday, But warned that inflation could accelerate. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization has confirmed the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is now the largest the country has ever recorded, with more than 3,600 confirmed cases and nearly 1,600 deaths. Chris Okamaringa has more from Kinshasa.

Health workers are saying that some of the people, the cases that they have detected, are not linked to the people that they've already, you know, recorded. So that means that the delay in detecting this disease led to the spread in a wide area. And that outbreak has occurred in an active conflict zone where there are very many displaced people who have fled to different parts of the country. So there's this fear that the disease, the number, the actual number of cases is much higher than what has been reported. Health workers, they have been complaining about not being paid since this outbreak began. There have been a couple of strikes that they have held, which has really disrupted the response effort. And the government said that they noticed that the payroll system was inflated with names of people who were not supposed to be there, so they're trying to clean it up. They have promised to pay these people promptly.

By Friday night, 60,000 Moroccan migrants had entered the territory, hoping for a new life in Europe.

A court made a ruling in Spain about migrants being able to come over by sea. The way that was reported, particularly on social media with fake news, was that the border had been opened up.

Okay, here we go. 15 minutes past the top of the hour as you and I are hanging out on this lovely, lovely, lovely Monday, which I was probably trying to jump to a Wednesday is definitely what it sounded like there. Anyway, so let's get into some of the things that are going on inside of the world of the multiverse, because that's kind of what we do. So let's start talking about this right away here. A shooting outside of an In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho left at least 3 people people dead and multiple others injured on Saturday before authorities confirmed the suspected gunman was dead. Uh, the violence erupted around 3 PM— yes, PM, not AM— local time in the restaurant parking lot through the drive-through. Witnesses showed that the man carrying what appeared to be an AR-style rifle, um, as panicked customers fled. Another person was also seen firing a handgun through the— through investigators that have not said whether the individual was another attacker or someone who was trying to stop the shooting. Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks later confirmed the suspected gunman had died. Officials said that at least 2 other people were injured but warned the number of victims could rise as investigators continue to look into what was going on. Law enforcement locked down the surrounding area, closed nearby roads, and evacuated businesses including Magic Valley Mall. The FBI has joined local state agencies in investigating the shooting, and authorities are still working to determine whether anyone else was involved with what— and what exactly motivated the attack. So, uh, CBS Sports has placed Tony Romo on leave until further notice following his recent arrest On suspicion of operating while intoxicated in Wisconsin, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and lead NFL analyst pulled over after allegedly driving erratically following the golf tournament in the Milwaukee area. Newly released body cam video reportedly shows Romo struggling through multiple field sobriety tests. Officers also said they found an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. Romo denied drinking and refused to take a breath test. Romo is scheduled to appear in court on September 20th. 21st and faces fines related to OWI charge and traffic violation. With Romo off the air, JJ Watts will reportedly join Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson on CBS' top NFL broadcast team for the time being. So there you go. So yeah, let's just make sure that we understand that CBS puts the $18 million a year NFL analyst Tony Romo on leave. So does leave mean paid? Because that's what I would like to know. I mean, he's on leave, but is he getting paid during the time? Federal prosecutors have moved to dismiss vandalism charges against the former Olympic canoeist David Hearn after determining the damage at the Lincoln Memorial reflection pool was caused by a faulty construction, not vandalism. The U.S. attorney filed the motion stating that the pool's damaged liner resulted as a botched installation by a contractor. Court documents say that the ceiling began peeling almost immediately after the renovation because of the coating, uh, failed to bond properly. Hearns, 67, was arrested in June after reaching into the reflecting pool during a bike ride to examine what he believed to be a loose piece of liner. He was later indicted in felony property destruction charge, and the prosecutors now say the damage was already as a result of the construction defects. Hearns' attorney said that the case never should have been filed and argued that the government owes him an apology, calling the prosecution an abuse of government power. So what do you think here? Giovanni Infantino has scrapped FIFA's controversial proposal to create a $20 billion commercial arm after fierce opposition from soccer organizations around the world. The plan would have allowed private investors to buy minority stakes into commercial rights to the FIFA World Cup and other major tournaments throughout the new entity called FIFA Ford Enterprise. FIFA hoped to raise $4.2 billion while keeping control of the business. The proposal was met with overwhelming resistance from the UEFA, the, uh, yeah, a whole bunch of different leagues, and the Asian Football Confederation even warned that 55-member nation would boycott the World Cup if they plan to move forward, arguing the tournament is not for sale. Infantino said that the proposal had become too divisive and was no longer in the best interest of the sport. FIFA is still, um, it will still continue working with its members association and other ways to grow soccer worldwide without moving ahead with a private investment plan. So there you go. There you go. What do you think? I'm just asking. So there you go. Okay, so we have to talk about this one. It has been months at this point, and you would have thought at some point we would have some more information opposed to a kind of like less information that seemed to be occurring for the time being. But it's definitely going forward now is what it seems like. So there you go. An Arizona man who has briefed A man wrongfully detained during an investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Gunthrie is demanding $3.25 million from the Pima County Sheriff's Department, claiming the deputies wrongfully accused him and damaged his reputation. Carlos Palazuelos says that he was held for several hours at gunpoint, questioned, and released without charges during the February search connected to the case. He alleges the investigation relied on faulty evidence and obtained a search warrant and publicly portrayed him as a person of interest without later clearing his name. The claim He also seeks compensation for 2 family members, including alleged property damage during the search and claims of being detained outside of the home. Palazuelos says that he publicly has led to, uh, led to strangers following him and photographing his family, leaving him fearful of that for their safety. His attorney is calling for the sheriff's office to publicly acknowledge that Palazuelos is not a suspect. Arizona officials have 60 days to respond before the family can file a lawsuit. Vincent Pastore, the actor forever linked to, uh, Salvatore Big Pussy Bonciello on The Sopranos, has died at the age of 80. He was found inside of his Bronx apartment after neighbors hadn't heard from him in several days. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of his death, but no cause has been announced. Pastore became television's icon as Tony Soprano's close friend who secretly turned FBI informant, delivering one of the series' memorable heartbreaking storylines. Before The Sopranos, the Bronx native appeared in mob classics including Goodfellas, Carlito's Ways, and HBO's Gotti. A Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War, Pastore didn't begin acting full-time until later in life after running, uh, bars and clubs in New York. His, uh, career expanded beyond gangster roles too, in appearances on Law Order, Blue Bloods, Yellowjackets, Dancing with the Stars, Celebrity Apprentice, Broadway productions including Chicago and Bullets Over Broadway, and he also battled and survived prostate cancer while continuing to perform on stage. In the recent years, Pastore ran his own theater company, frequently reuniting with The Sopranos cast members. I have to tell you, when the news broke about this, I was kind of surprised. And of course, they would not say big pussy on TV in regards to the newscast. Negotiations between Warner Brothers, Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and director Greta Gerwig have stalled over money. The New York Times reports that Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav believed the studio proposed deals for the stars that were too generous. While Warner Bros. says it already made major offers to Robbie and Gosling declining without making a counteroffer, Gosling is reportedly seeking around $20 million to return as Ken. The clock is ticking if Warner Bros. can't reach an agreement with Robbie Gosling and the director by December 2026, the rights to make the sequel reportedly revert to Mattel. The original Barbie was one of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters, earning $1.4 billion worldwide after its 2023 release. Nathan Thomas has been recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world's youngest male professor after joining the faculty at Miami Dade College at the age of 18, uh, and 346 days old. Thomas broke the record who had had um, stood for over 300 years, surpassing Scottish mathematician Colin Macaulay, who became the professor at the age of 19 and was also within 16 days of becoming the youngest professor ever, male or female. So, um, yeah, I don't think that I'm saying anything off, uh, off the, the cuff here, but it is Monday morning for at least most of us, depending on when you're taking a listen to this. The point on why I'm mentioning this is because we're— we can do it in different times depending on when you're taking a listen. So when I do say that it's Monday morning is because I'm referencing this as we are doing this on Monday morning. And the reason that I'm bringing this up is because I want you to think about this. You might be in a worksite that does not have work over the weekend. Meaning that nothing should have drastically changed on Saturday and Sunday because the last business day was Friday. You come back on Monday and life goes on. Sometimes that's the occasion. I'm not saying that's always the occasion, but I'm saying that sometimes that is the occasion. So what I want you to think about here for just a brief moment in time, have you had a moment That when you come back on a Monday after a Friday and nothing was happening that Saturday and Sunday, all of a sudden you get pulled into a meeting and something drastically has changed. And I'm talking about anything has changed drastically. Now, I will tell you, I have worked on organizations where Monday morning comes around And there has been a dramatic shift. And I'm talking about a dramatic shift with people who work there. I'm talking about that there was a severe injury that occurred on a Friday. There was a terrible change inside of some of the politicking of what was going to be done inside of the workplace. Those are the kind of things that have changed. Now, I will tell you, I have worked at several organizations. That do some things that are very weird, and I'm going to explain this to you. They'll wait till Friday to let people go because here's what you notice if you kind of pay some close attention to how business is ran. Sometimes there are certain organizations that on Fridays— I'm not going to say it's a day off. But things don't run as hot and heavy as they do on a Friday. Like, it's kind of like I had a, a guy that I used to work with that he called it FOF, stood for fuck off Friday, meaning that they kind of knew you're gonna come and do some work, but you really were gonna just kind of mess around some. At least that's how it was in this particular transportation portion of the business. So I mentioned this because I have been to some of these places where all of a sudden somebody shows up on a Friday and says, hey, we're letting go of X, Y, and Z, or just X. And then that occurs, and then there's that shock over the weekend. You kind of hit the rumblings like, hey, did you hear that blah blah blah got let go?

Uh, here's a text message of them saying that I let go.

And then you're like, oh my God, they really are gone.

And then you go, are they really? And there's 10,000 questions about why they were let go.

You know, and you kind of get the point, but there was all these questions on why the person was let go and it happened on a Friday. And then now Monday, everything is coming in and everything's supposed to change. Everything now, because this person was let go. And here's the funny part. When it's the general manager or the person running the portion of the organization where you're located, it's kind of like where you're stuck and you don't know what to do because here's the thing that occurs. Regardless on how you look at this, there are relationships that are established inside of the organization that happen. I don't care what the name or what the brand is that's on the door. You build relationships with the people that you work with one way, shape, or form— good, bad, or indifferent— but there's relationships that are being established. Once that relationship is established, then you're having conversations. Once you start having those conversations, the relationship is developed. And then if you come in on a Monday after a Friday that you found out that blah blah blah person got fired, you're to have some questions. And here's the thing that I've noticed. If you have the general manager being fired or the person in charge being fired, then all of a sudden it becomes that weird thing. It's like, are you spilling the beans on the person that was there previously? If you say that they used to do X, Y, and Z, or you, or you actually explained how it worked. Now I will tell you, many, many, many, many moons Many moons ago, I had a, we'll say a friend because it was a friend at the time, because that's, I mean, there was no other way of putting it. This person and I got to know each other at one work organization. I ended up, he ended up leaving and then he went to another work organization. I kind of barely knew him. And then he invited me to go work at this organization that he went to go work at. Kind of cool. Uh, I was there for a few years and I went somewhere else and then he invited me to come back. So we worked together at this place again together. So now we've worked at 2 different places together. Then he went to another company and asked me to go work with him as well, and that was fine. But while we were at this 3rd company, he was terminated. He was fired, let go. Now the weird part was he was fired and had nowhere to go, and I was asked to take over the position that he was in. Very awkward moment. So I didn't do it because I was like, that's not really going to be for me because I had already known this person for years and I kind of felt some level of loyalty. But because that person got fired, I heard through the grapevine many, many, many moons later that they no longer wanted anything to do with me. I kind of figured something had happened because when I would call, nobody would answer. Or if I tried to get in contact with the person, that's Fine. And they wanted nothing to do with me because they were fired and I didn't quit when they were fired, which I thought was kind of a weird ask. But I look at it from that particular standpoint. If I was one of those people that only cared about money and cared only about what was going on, I would have just taken the position because it was a pretty significant jump in pay in regards to it. But I kind of felt some level of loyalty because we had worked together for such a long period of time. And that's the weird part. Can you separate personal and business when you develop a relationship with someone? And that's the part that sometimes we have to talk about, and sometimes we even have to think about it. How would you handle some of these situations? Do you look at it as a betrayal, or do you look at it as one of these things that you go, okay, you're doing the right thing if you took the position? I don't know. These are the things that happen on a Friday that could also happen that normally don't happen during the bulk of the week, and you kind of start questioning the things that are going on. My question to you today is, how would you handle this situation? Oops, what did he just say?

And then what else? Let's get into, uh, things that you ought to know because that seems important. Here's Friday winning Mega Million number. Jackpot was $50 million. It was 4, 18, 26, 43, 51, and the power— or the Mega Ball was 4. Here's Saturday's winning Powerball numbers. Jackpot was for $707 million. 6, 17, 27, 48, 50. Powerball was 5. Power Play was 3. Since there was no jackpot winner, tonight's jackpot will be for $748 million. 3 fast-moving wildfires spread in Spokane, Washington. Have triggered a state of emergency, forcing thousands of residents from their homes and destroyed hundreds of structures. The Old Trails, Fairview, and Autumn Lane fires have burned more than 7,700 acres and remain 0% contained. Officials say that over 600 buildings have been destroyed and a number expected to climb. Crews assess the damage. The Autumn Lane fire is currently currently the biggest concern. Governor Bob Ferguson declared a state of emergency and has issued the burn ban as firefighters battle the blazes. Several areas around Spokane, um, are under Level 3 evacuation and the state's highest alert level, requiring residents to leave immediately. About 5,000 homes have been evacuated. Firefighters continue to slow the fires as hot, dry, and windy conditions Fuel their rapid spread. So there you go. So anyways, that's going to sum up our time together.
