A new contender.
Welcome to the Know the Difference Minute for Thursday, March 7th.

It’s one of my favorite lines from HBO’s ‘The Wire’ but it goes for just about anyone—including Target.
Yeah, Target. They’ve announced a paid membership program along the lines of Amazon Prime and Walmart Plus. Yearly fee. Free delivery.
It’s called Target 360 and it’s a bold move that challenges TWO kings. First year, 49 bucks. Compare that to 139 for Prime, 98 for Walmart.
A $35 Target 360 order could even be delivered within an hour.
Interesting timing. Latest earnings showed sales declining at brick and mortar by 4.4%. Guidance isn’t expecting much better this quarter as inflation continues to affect consumers.
Is there room for another shopping and delivery program? If price is a decider, Target might be on to something.
