"Hello everyone! Welcome back to the podcast. I’m Teacher Duncan. Can you believe we are already looking at the calendar and seeing late July and August?

Where did the time go? It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating the start of summer break, and now... school is just around the corner! There is less than a month left before kids go back to the classroom.

If you are a student listening to this right now, you might be feeling a tiny bit of panic. Maybe you still have a mountain of summer homework to finish, or maybe you just wish summer vacation could last forever!

On the other hand, if you are a parent... you might secretly be feeling a little bit relieved! Having kids at home 24/7 during the summer is fun, but it is also exhausting. Parents are starting to think about early bedtimes, school uniforms, and quiet houses during the day again.

When August arrives, it’s a time of mixed feelings. But here is my advice for the final few weeks of vacation: don't spend the whole month worrying about the first day of school. Instead, make a 'End of Summer Bucket List.' Pick three fun things you still want to do—maybe going to get mango shaved ice one more time, visiting the beach, or having a movie night.

Finish your homework early so you aren't stressing on the very last night, and enjoy these remaining sunny days. School will be back soon, but until then, make every day count!"

What is 學英文不用背單字 Learn By Listening?

Stop memorizing, start listening! Welcome to Learn By Listening, the English podcast designed specifically for young learners who want to understand English naturally. We believe that children learn best through stories, not word lists.

In each episode, we filled stories with mystery, humor, and fun characters. Whether it’s meeting a "tall ghost" who is actually just Grandpa, or traveling to a sunny day in Nara with a magic kimono, our stories use simple language that students can actually follow.

What makes us different?

Context over Lists: We use vocabulary from the standard curriculum (like family, feelings, and weather) but put them into exciting plots.

Perfect for ESL: Spoken clearly and at a pace that helps non-native speakers gain confidence.

Short & Sweet: Every episode is under 5 minutes—perfect for a morning listen or a bedtime story.

Join us and discover that you don't need to memorize words to speak English—you just need to listen!
