Genecia Alluora: In today's episode, I want to talk about how to help your partner have a more positive money mindset. We all have money blocks that we all need to work on. But what if the other person who is derailing all your money stuff is your loved one, your significant other, your husband, your boyfriend, your girlfriend, your wife, your partner? Honestly, this is one of the most common questions that I get. It breaks my heart because sometimes the person could be or should be in your corner, isn't supportive, or who should be there for you, isn't there for you. So I've got good news and bad news for you. Bad news you can't use your partner as an excuse for not making money and it's your responsibility to do the work around your money mindset, your thoughts and your feelings.

Genecia Alluora: Good news. I've seen so many partners turn a negative money mindset around in a snap with just a couple of tweaks. It's such an important work that I've included a whole module around this in the Soul Rich Woman Blueprint Bootcamp. So firstly, know that this is your responsibility, that you might have to put up your shield and protection around your money and your business. It's your responsibility to protect your own heart. This might mean not sharing everything about your business with your partner in real time. You might need to process some stuff with your coach, your mentor, like myself or your community, and then share it with what you're learning about yourself in a more appropriate way or a top line way.

Genecia Alluora: I've heard from my customers or my clients that they have put my audiobook, my podcast on the background and their partner has started to soak it in. They listen to my audio course, right? A Soul Rich Woman Millionaire mindset. They have also let it play in the background. So I have had someone just put my book also on their partner's bitsite table and for some reason that had some weird energetic effect. So it can be subliminal. Or you could come at it from a place of curiosity. For example, you might say hey, I learned this thing about how the pocket money you receive as a kid can really impact your money mindset as an adult. Do you get pocket money when you were a kid? If you came from a place of curiosity, you might start to shift the dynamic.

Genecia Alluora: When I was starting out, my partner James and also my mentor, was anxious and sometimes he would say things that is limiting to me because we are more than 15 years apart in terms of age. And he would say things that is limiting in his own world based on his experience relating about money and how business should be or can be like in terms of marketing and how I should do the things that's on the ground. So I will let him know hey darling, when you say that, it makes me feel bad. It really triggers my fear and my money scarcity. I told him I'm creating this business together because I want us to have a future together.

Genecia Alluora: I want us to have an abundant life together. I want us to make things together. We are a team, and you might not mean it, but sometimes when you say this one thing, it makes me really feel bad. I come from a place of vulnerability and was just like telling him, I need your help here because I'm feeling vulnerable. I say the truth. Other times when I'm feeling less kind and gentle about it, I would actually say, Hey, you know what? This is my vision for the future. I'm going to have an amazing business and I'm going to be a multimillionaire. You can come with me or you can get off the train, but I'm going anyway.

Genecia Alluora: I know that that might sound harsh, but you know what? I need it to be clear. It might not feel good to say that to your partner, right? Why don't you try this instead? Hey, babe, or Hey, darling, I need to really watch my mindset right now. I really need to watch how I'm talking about money, talking about my business, and my energy is really very important in this space, in this time right now. So if you have this powerful conversation with your partner or the person who is derailing you, even your mother, that can have a really powerful impact. Sometimes or oftentimes, our money stuff with our partner is because we haven't really gotten really open and honest and vulnerable together.

Genecia Alluora: At the end of the day, your money mindset is your responsibility. You have to crowd out the negativity and make sure you're listening to my podcast, reading Empowering Books, or go sign up for my free online course or even my audio book or audio program, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. You can go and check it out. I think it should be in the show notes. Make sure you keep working on your money mindset. It's possible that you are the vision holder for your partnership. For me, I am. Perhaps you have to hold on to your vision and that's your responsibility. You get to be the one to make that money. I know you feel like, Oh, I'm a woman. In Asia and in Singapore, I sometimes do get the feeling, Oh, I'm a woman. The men should take care of me. But you know what? So what if I'm Asian?

Genecia Alluora: So what if I'm from Singapore? And that the women that were before me were not entrepreneurs, and the women that had before me were taken care of at home, they are only allowed to cook and allowed to make the meals and not allowed to work, be a homemaker. But you know what? It's my responsibility. My responsibility to make the money to make this happen. So the tools are easy to find and you have been born in the exact right time, right now for you to be an entrepreneur and make money as a woman, as a leader, as a soul rich woman. There are no rules anymore. This is the time.
