A faith-forward podcast for people who love Jesus but also love being honest about how weird and wonderful life can be. Hosts Kerrye and Jill tell stories about the Bible, talk about their faith, and dig into what it looks like to follow God through the ordinary chaos of everyday, imperfect life. Real conversations. Real stories. No pretending to have it all together. Pull up a chair, turn the page, and let's go.
Welcome to Chapter and Verse, where people
tell real stories about faith, failure,
redemption, and those "Lord, I'm gonna
need you to explain this one" moments.
Some stories are inspiring, some
are messy, some are miraculous,
and some probably should have
come with a warning label.
But through every chapter of
every story, God has a plan.
And he's never been
afraid of a little chaos.
We're Jill.
And Kerrye.
Let's turn the page
All right, so this is like a
unicorn that will never, ever,
ever, ever happen again, I'm sure.
Uh, Jill's gonna introduce something
that we need to talk about.
So listen, y'all.
This has nothing to do with
our series, by the way.
Nothing to do with it.
Yeah.
But we just need to announce.
We're starting a campaign.
We, we are.
Listen, we currently have listeners in
43 states, plus the District- Mm ⦠like
plus Washington, DC, and I think at last
count we were at 17 or 18 countries.
Yeah.
That's including US, obviously.
Which we won't even talk about that today.
But, like, multiple countries.
Yes.
By all accounts-
Yeah ⦠that's impressive.
Yeah.
Right?
I mean, we're happy.
Yeah.
We, uh, honestly are humbled
and blown away- 100%.
Like- ⦠that that many people
are listening, and we are ⦠But
now- But only 43 states.
Let's talk- So you- Let's talk about the,
let's talk about who is not listening.
Let's- Go ahead ⦠let's call out the
names of the people who are not listening.
All right.
Um, do you want just like
the full list of the seven?
Yeah.
Okay.
We'll, we'll start with that.
So okay.
So there's Idaho.
All right.
And there, you know what?
I gotta say, there's
not much going on there.
Like y'all could listen.
What are, what are you doing?
Just kidding.
No.
But like there's Alaska and Hawaii.
Okay.
I can give Alaska a pass.
Actually, no, because doesn't
it get dark there really
early, and then it's like dark?
This time of year it's
starting to get dark, yeah.
Um, you got nothing else to do.
Come on.
Hawaii, I can't give a pass to Hawaii
because we, we had, um, Suzy on.
Yeah.
And- Suzy mentioned Hawaii
Suzy.
Yes.
Come on.
Okay.
We, we talked about Hawaii.
Kerrye's been there.
I'm dying to go.
If you guys had like less coconut,
I'd be all over the place.
But what are we doing?
Okay.
Also, here's, here's another thought.
Okay.
So we have Idaho, Alaska, Hawaii.
That's three.
Um, Vermont.
Okay.
Um, Maine.
Okay.
Um, what was my other one?
North Dakota.
North Dakota is one.
Yeah.
Which, North Dakota, I, we know you're
in competition with South Dakota.
And I know that- South Dakota got you
beat ⦠South Dakota beat you in this.
You, you had the
opportunity- ⦠to be on board.
Yeah.
And you're squandering it.
Yeah.
Like, let's get way more listeners
from North Dakota than South Dakota.
Yeah.
Come on.
Let's have some competition.
Anyway, and the last one
is Rhode freaking Island.
Rhode freaking Island.
Okay.
So, it's my understanding, you
know, we do have a lot of countries,
but we are number 26 in Denmark.
Yeah.
But apparently Rhode Island has
standards and they can't listen.
I mean, Denmark found
us from across an ocean.
Across an ocean.
And Rhode Island is roughly the size
of a Buc-ee's parking lot- ⦠but they
can't fi- they can't, they can't find us.
Okay.
I refuse to believe that there
isn't one Christian w- woman
in Rhode Island with WiFi.
Come on.
I mean, at this point, I don't
even need them to like us, I just
want one, one of them to hit play.
Listen, Rhode Island, you
don't have to subscribe.
You don't even have to leave a review.
Frankly, you don't even
have to finish an episode.
We just need the map colored in.
We are now coloring in a map.
Yes.
We're getting a map.
We're, it, whether it's a scratch-off
or whether we're coloring it
in- ⦠I don't know what's happening.
It can be a, like, a really cute little
thing and we can make, like, a whole big
deal about it, but we're coloring it in.
Listen, if you live in Connecticut, or,
or Massachusetts, whatever, but if you
live in Connecticut, just drive east.
Put on the podcast.
Put on the episode about my dad.
It's two hours long.
Surely anywhere that you live
in Connecticut, within two hours
and 20 minutes you can hit the
state line and just pull in.
Like, just, I don't know if that's
how the podcast geography works or
not, but I'm willing to experiment.
I mean, it has to.
Somebody take I-95, cross the state
line- ⦠pull into the first Dunkin'
Donuts, and download Jerks of the Bible.
This is ministry.
We- We need you We have listeners in
Bermuda, obviously Denmark, 'cause
we're charting in Denmark, y'all.
Denmark is gonna get, like, the biggest
shout-out- Yeah ⦠'cause we're charting.
I wanna make a Denmark shirt.
Yeah, we need to.
Mm-hmm.
But Bermuda, Denmark, Finland,
Aruba, Hong Kong, Japan.
Japan has listened to every single
episode, including the ones with Dewey.
Japan.
Yeah.
I'm just- I don't know why they've
listened to- I am so honored ⦠they've
listened to every single one of our
episodes, but we're not charting in
Japan, we're charting in Denmark.
That's better.
Which is crazy.
That's better.
But Rhode Island is like,
"Never heard of her."
Never heard of them.
What?
Rhode Island has a population
of more than a million people.
We are asking for one.
This is not unreasonable.
Jesus left the 99.
We are leaving the 43
states for Rhode Island.
This is personal now.
At this point, Rhode, Rhode Island isn't
just a state, it's a mission field.
I don't know what we've
done to offend Rhode Island.
But I would like to formally apologize.
You know what we sound like?
What?
We sound like boyfriends trying
to get back- First we're mad,
and then we're like, "Hey, we
just wanna say we're sorry."
"We didn't mean to hurt your feelings."
We don't know what we did wrong.
We just wanna be back on the right page.
What?
I just realized something.
What?
I have a cousin in Rhode Island.
Kerrye, what the- I do.
Shelby.
Listen, Shelby.
Shelby.
Shelby coming round mountain.
Come on, Shelby.
Maybe that's why she won't do it,
'cause you're- Maybe ⦠you're singing
Shelby Coming Around the Mountain.
She doesn't know that.
We haven't talked in a while.
And maybe that's why.
She just doesn't know.
We actually areâ¦
You know, we're cousins, but it's
not like we see each other much.
You have a million cousins.
And she lives in Ro- Well,
we're from the South.
So I have a zillion cousins.
I probably have a cousin in
some- In all of the states?
Mozambique.
I don't know.
Yeah, I have a bone to
pick with Benildo, too.
Hey, Benildo, you just came back from
Africa, and you didn't want to turn on our
podcast to- I'm saying, at no point did
you wanna hear your wife's lovely voice?
Just turn on her episode.
Oh.
My gosh.
So listen.
Anyway.
If you're listening in Rhode
Island right now, welcome.
You did it, you beauti-
beautiful little, tiny state.
But if you aren't, Jill,
tell them our campaign here.
Listen.
We are now on a campaign.
We're, yeah, we're on a campaign.
It's personal.
Yeah.
It's personal now.
Yeah.
We are going to be paying attention.
Yeah, Shelby.
We are going to find someone- Shelby
⦠to listen to us in Rhode Island.
Shelby.
And- Just for a little bit,
Shelby ⦠and to the other six
states, the other six holdouts.
Like, don't be like Rhode Island.
You're, you're on our list, too, but
we're gonna start- I'm- ⦠with Rhode
Island ⦠fully expecting for you
guys to, to come on board, so that we
can all shame Rhode Island together.
Yeah.
I mean.
All right, so that's
our, that's our mission.
All right, take it.
