I hear men talking today about working miracles, and they're religious people. They say that they can still perform miracles just like the apostles did, by and through the power of God Almighty. And so we hear them talk and discuss this matter, and they say God is still the same today that He was yesterday.

Well, that is true. Nobody denies that. And it's not a question of what God can do. God could stop the world right now if He wanted to. He could stop the universe. He could burn it up. He could destroy it. He could stop your life and mine. It's not a matter of what God can do—it’s a matter of what God is doing.

The Bible teaches that those miracles were for a time and a season, and that time has passed away, for they confirmed the Word of God (Hebrews 2:3-4). But I'll tell you one thing: if a man can perform miracles, he can raise the dead, because that's among the performing of miracles. Let one man raise a dead man, and I'll make hair grow on every doorknob in this city.

I'm Malcolm Hill. This has been _One Gospel Minute_ from the churches of Christ in this area, where you are always welcome.
