JUST MY POV

Welcome to a special all-ladies edition of Just My POV with host Pearl cards , bringing the heat alongside Gen Z co-host Samson Becky! This week, we’re diving into the fiery topic of feminism and gender equality, challenging traditional roles and sparking debates. Pardi breaks down Genesis 1:27 to argue men and women are created equal, while Becky shares her Gen Z take on equal opportunities, not just headship. From the 50/50 generation clash to the emotional rollercoaster of women’s monthly cycles, we unpack it all with raw honesty. Learn why men get insecure, how women prove their worth (like Becky sneaking off to Benin Republic for her degree!), and the surprising dynamics of emotional vulnerability.

What is JUST MY POV?

Just My POV is a raw, real, and refreshing talk show where a millennial aunt and her Gen Z nephew go head-to-head on everything—love, money, culture, gender roles, and the messy parts of growing up in two different worlds.

They don’t always agree.
They don’t hold back.
But they always keep it real.

Each episode dives into the generational gap, the clash of values, and the moments that spark deep reflection—or full-blown arguments.

It’s not about who’s right.
It’s just their point of view.

what's your take on feminism or gender equality gender equality is actually the chance of giving the boys and the girls same opportunity to live and grow in Genesis 1 verse 27 it says so God created man in his own image in the image of God he created him which means if I'm qualified to be like a professor in a school and a man is qualified to be that same professor in the school I expect to be considered equally as the man so what it means is analog and digital you get it when you first manufacture something it's like okay you say that it's the original great that's fine but it's not an advanced version how about that i mean if the man is the head why do 50/50 but you guys are in the 50/50 generation so I see that that is why there's so much conflict and that is why there's so many ladies you know on social media and fighting like cider budge what do you think the role of a man is and the role of a woman is to my own generation I don't think men and women they have different roles h generation where the man he takes up his responsibilities and he focuses on it he protects he provides holy that's fully not have the guy I know they confuse who he is he knows that he's theu and he stands for who he is that's the generation I'm at [Music] i know that for this week's episode all those masculine men that all their muscle will jump out and pop up when a woman is talking they will come and gather here because I'm sure this is where their energy they want to show it that they are man but I'm ready for you people for this episode i'm here i peen hey guys it's just my POV and as you well know with every episode I do this with a co-host but today we're switching things up a little bit just to give it a little bit of dynamics it's all about the ladies so we've got like a firm edition today so I'm super excited and glad to introduce to you someone new how are you i'm good what's your name my name is Samson Becky and I'm holding it down for the Gen Z generation oh that's good and you already know I'm Pardi and I'm holding it down for the millennials with that being said let's just get into the gist and the topic of the day so I know that a lot of men out there get very you know insecure a little bit upset when they hear anything that has to do with feminism they always feel like ah these ladies they want to fight and walk against us and they want to this they want that that's why I said that this week episode I know that all of you will come out join this podcast which is what the energy I even need anyway so for you Becky Mhm what's your take on feminism or gender equality gender equality is actually the chance of giving the boys and the girls same opportunity to live and grow to succeed absolutely i agree but like what does it mean to you as a generation because I know that for us I know what it is you know gender equality and what we've been trying to talk about feminism and whatnot but for like a Gen Z what's your like what's your experience here in life or in the society when it comes to like gender equality [Music] time after time they actually it has been given actually to both boys and girls different uh roles and things to to do for them to succeed but because of um mis uh application of religion they believe that um some roles and some things um that are supposed to be assigned to the female are not supposed to take place because they believe that the men are the head so they should take lead and should be the head forever okay so so you kind of feel like um in your generation there is a lot of um there's a there's a huge gap between male and female where the man has to be always be the leader yeah and then the ladies the caregivers and then supposedly to say um the helpers oh okay so I actually agree because also for our own generation that's kind of like the same thing it's just that it's something that we've been talking about for such a long time it's been something that we've been trying to explain so how about I just generally try to explain what feminism is trying to achieve so for the sake of the guys who are watching this show and don't know what really feminism is talking about feminism is talking about gender equality and gender equality is just explaining that men and women were created alike and so should be treated accordingly that's the same way you shouldn't have like preference for men or preference for women it should just be human beings and I'd like to even go because I know that a lot of Nigerians we are very religious people we used to say that we are Christian we are Christian too much so let me even said go to the Bible in Genesis 1 verse 27 it says "So God created man in his own image in the image of God he created him male and female he created them." You see that this verse in the Bible tells you an eternal truth about the fact that he created man and woman alike so it really is the same which means if I'm qualified to be like a professor in a school and a man is qualified to be that same professor in the school I expect to be considered equally as the man i expect that my salary if it's 100k is 1 million that you're giving the man you should give me at the same time the same money sure that has nothing to do with my role at home with what I do with my spouse my husband or whatever of course no it is a culture that um ladies should be below that's so ridiculous yeah it is a culture right now that ladies should be below why the men should always be at the top because they believe in court that men a man is a head why is he considered a head though why do you think it's actually from the Bible like you said um the belief that a woman is taken out of the man okay so Okay so what it means is like so let me now help you people what that means in case you don't know is analog and digital you get it when you create something when you first manufacture something is like okay you say that it's the original great that's fine but it's not an advanced version how about that is still analog it's like Nokia 3310 and now an iPhone how about that if you want to think that oh because you were you were created first and then out of you is where you now get a woman that's why you think that you are now head already i've showed you you are analog we're digital how about that another thing that comes with with the thought that oh a man is is the head is probably because you know in the Bible they say that a woman should submit to a man let me help you guys to enlighten you in case you are losing the meaning of that what that means is two of you are co-pilots to move this ship if as you are moving this ship there has there's like a storm or like a misunderstanding and you want to redirect or you want a redirection there's not there there's not there's south there's east east and west mhm so choosing where to go is where the man can now say okay me I'm adamant and I say that you must go right then I mean in that case you guys cannot drag each other and you cannot divide yourself because you're the same on the ship so you have to choose one which hence the reason the man say is you know the fantasy but I want to point something out okay when we say that the man is the head and then women should submit to the man but then we also have a lot of men saying that they want to do 50/50 what's your take on that i mean if um the man is the head why do 50/50 i don't understand that too i don't understand that too you actually have the whole package absolutely actually you are the head mhm i agree so the thing is the thing about that too that I'd like to say is that if for instance now we're both running a business we're partners in the business i bring 50% you bring 50% yeah when you are making decisions about that business you want to claim that it's only your own decision that stands my own is it doesn't stand why am I bringing 50% you get it that's why even that's why even abroad when you have ladies who want to do 50/50 it's because they also want the right to be able to say no when you say yes they want to be able to say "Oh this is my reason this is my thing." argue and it's okay for them to do so if you're going to ask a woman to bring 50% in supporting you then she has 50% decision making you can't lord over her even in your own business if you are a girl of a business and you are partner partnering with your partner and your partner says no it's me that's going to have the final thing why you don't see that even in your world as a man it doesn't make any sense how much more for us it can never make any sense like I said digital analog think about that with that being said how about we get into the roles of a man and the role of a woman in a relationship i know that now because the world is old and because now we're thinking about different aspects of life what do you think the role of a man is and the role of a woman is m traditionally they said um let me start with the ladies yeah they said uh the ladies are the um homekeepers mhm while the uh the men they are the protectors and then they are the providers but um it's it's okay it's fine to think that way but to my own generation I don't think um men and women they have different roles h okay explain they do not have different roles because um if a man is married to a medical doctor Mhm and he is a medical doctor both they leave both at home who do you think will be left at home uh I don't know left at home and both of them have the same job so who will sit at home everybody will go to work yeah that's what I'm saying okay right yeah no one is left to clean up the house no one is left to make the dishes and whole lot of maybe it's time to go back home i'm very sure when they go head back home they they have responsibilities they already divided the house choice to theel oh honey I'm I'll be going to pick up uh groceries i'm doing this i'm doing that so both of them I think both of them okay have like equal roles okay so you're a 50-50 generation then i'm not I'm not in the 5050 generation i'm in the generation where where do you man he takes up his responsibilities and he focuses on it he protects he provides holy that's fully not have the guy know they confuse who he is he knows that he's theu and he stands for who he is so he provides um protection he provides financially he provides security he keeps them in a home he takes care of you know they he takes care of things that that help his partner Yeah run the home that's the generation I'm at but you guys are in the 50/50 generation so if you are in the 50/50 generation then it means that there is no I don't know head there's no higher yes all right okay so I see that that is why there's so much conflict and that is why there's so many ladies on our social media and fighting like cider bud shout out to you home girl i see what you're doing the voice of the girl child anyways okay oh so for your generation that's what's different well I see that that's also the reason you guys have a lot of fem men and a lot of masculine women yeah because whether you admit it or not there is yeah in in Gen Z there are a lot more female groups okay so then there's a bloodline between I think I think maybe over the years they were holding back oh yeah they were holding back so this generation they earn holding back they just giving it all of them oh wow so wait and do you think that this has anything to do with like maybe internet exposure or you just think they just got tired i think we were just tired and then we just had to move on and I think we're going somewhere so where do you think you're headed with a bloodline where there's no where there's no real man and woman there's I today I'm like woman man and man woman woman where are we headed there there is something like you said in the Bible two heads are better than what one so when the man comes in and the woman comes in I think they they'll have to or they we produce something better than one person would oh okay so okay so you're so what you're saying is if for instance there's like 50/50 generation the man and the woman they're on the same level they can create something actually I see the sense in that they can create something that is greater or more intellectual or more sound than if you have Yeah than just one dictatorship so in my generation we're used to that idea where the man what the man says is what goes yeah and then the woman is just there to support and even and even if she's not in support she's not really going to do anything yeah it doesn't really matter and I kind of understand that okay so So for me I see what you're saying in terms of two people on the same level creating something fantastic i see that but I also don't see order in that order structure i don't see that yeah how do you So so what that means is you know when you like I said earlier when you are like you have two pilots mhm there will be a place where there will be conflict yeah there will be conflict they'll be arguing and nobody's going to back down yeah true so how do you get a resolution from there i think two people cannot be mad at the same time so exactly one just have and it's usually is the babe yeah because because we too were more like intellectual in our that we use our brains more than our physical so we are able to realize that oh if both of us are in this problem and we cannot back down then we wouldn't be able to move forward okay i think so so personally as much as I'm you know a millennial and as much as I believe in oh a man taking his role and making sure that he provides 100% he does security he does I agree as much as I'm in that generation i also agree with the fact that there are a lot of things that you need to um that you need to run a home and run your life and that's where a woman comes in with the support and with the intellect that the man is not really thinking you know when you are going out and you are busy you are occupied with the people you see and what's going on around you they even look um kept so they need a woman in their life yes to keep them that's what that's where I'm coming to but the woman because she's chill she's maybe focusing on beauty and other stuff she's able to think deeper about his situation yeah and see things more intricately than you would see it as a man okay so the 50/50 generation is not that bad it's just I'm not about to try it even if I have money I'm telling you my money is mine baba's money is ours and it's not because I wouldn't support you no I would but it's not in your place to tell me when I should support you yes no i will do it when it's necessary i will see that is necessary and I will do that so in my own opinion before we get into the next topic that we would like to talk about can you give us like an instance where you've had to prove your worth as a woman or at least show that yeah yeah while I was growing up um I was done with my wife and and then I picked up um a jam a jam uh form yeah i basically had to work just to get this the form the form and finally I got the form and then my mom was like oh I don't want you to study uh here blah blah blah blah blah blah I was like okay I'm cool with that but then I was still thinking if I have to if I have to go in because she wanted me to study at Ben Republic because um most of our friends uh kids were over there so she wanted to oh because she was a single mother so she she wanted to prove a strength yo I could do this I could do that so um after a week she came back home and she told me no you can't go to that school why because you are a female what why she told me that I can't go there because I'm a female that every of her friends kids that over there they are all men boys then what if I go there and I forget about her oh wow that's that's a new one yeah go and what if because I'm basically a girl child so if if I go over there it's it's like she wasting her money why if it was my maybe my younger brother it would make more sense because he's going there to acknowledge to have acquire knowledge and then and make the name the son name yeah oh wow and after um years because I got into University of I was studying political administrative studies there and for some reasons I I was made to understand that I wasn't going to graduate the year I was supposed to graduate but by then I was already a big girl so I could make my way out and that I didn't tell anyone so I made my way to same ben oh you left and then went to Ben Republic yeah and that is where I did my graduation aren't you crazy yeah she just and 2023 I had to like show my mom my certificate and she was surprised because same school she said no you can't go because you're female I had to go there myself by yourself that is so crazy so this is you trying to prove that you can I can actually do that but doesn't that also show you that even we the women the females also affect ourselves in the sense of feminism and in the sense of gender roles and whatnot of course it does like it's so crazy from um home you have uh trauma and then from uh your peers you still have have trauma again yeah so it does affect the females that's a lot to actually deal with that your own mom you know felt that you couldn't do it but most people they always like oh I have good mom not all moms are good yeah well some of them only tell you what as much as they know if they don't know enough what are they going to teach you yeah my mom is actually she's learned she's learned she She owns the school oh wow so I actually like how to help her and I could write lesson notes and and all those type of But you can you can't you can't say to her that she was not Yeah I get what you mean she was in intellectual oh that's that's so crazy and well I'm sorry about that because I know that that's that's a lot to actually deal with to because your mom should be like your ultimate support but yeah but if she's not in support of that you must have been through a lot to actually move on but you've done a fine job because come on come on girl i mean you went to that school that school bum boom and you finished the school and you showed her the pal mama look how did she feel when she saw it she was speechless actually she never believed I She'll feel a little guilt but I don't know she Okay well um now that we're talking about this and we're talking about the fact that you know even females also affect us we too were part of our own problems at different times um how about we try to explain to people our different stages and our different times you know a lot of men don't understand when we have like these mood swings or when we're feeling too emotional according to them but there's no such thing as too emotional in my own opinion sh just saying people are just have they just have their emotions but anyways um with that being said I really want to just quickly go and check like the a woman's a woman's um what what do they call it monthly should I say cycle phases yes and the only reason I'm going through this is because some one of the guys here just before we started this um episode when he asked me "Oh what are we talking about?" And I said that we're talking about you know feminine stuff he was like "Oh a lot of us guys don't understand you guys moods and it gets us very confused." So here's how it goes so you have your menration period is usually about a week and this is when you know your lining is shedding like oh the the eggs that you released initially is now going because you didn't get pregnant you get what I mean because if you get pregnant you ain't going to see that [ __ ] and you're going to panic you get it but that's a different topic anyways there is that one and then after after that seven days by your eighth day you have your follicular phase and this is when your glands are stimulating your hormones which now stimulate growth in your ovaries you know and it becomes like you become so much in your feminine era because it's maturing an egg so your emotions are heightened so everything that you're feeling is just you are gearing up for the period when you're going to release this egg so all your your entire body is is creating or is working towards creating a healthy egg that now gets you to your ovelation stage which is like day 14 half of the month bear in mind for the guys that are listening that the menstruation was like from the first to the seventh day and then from the seventh day to like the 14th day is your follicular stage which is you trying to create eggs before your ovelation so already for 14 days in a month your girl is going through different phases just know from day one to day 14 so now day 14 from day 14 to like uh maybe let's say 20 20 or 20 yeah from day 14 to like 20 or 20 day 25 she's now overating so now the egg is you know gathering itself the egg is now traveling from where it came from to the place that your uh your sperm can get to germinate it so that movement that movement too you know that is in the body yeah there are lots of things that are happening and that's when your girl is hottest you know that time honey exactly that's when your honeypot is honeypotting that's when everything is happening around that's when you can tell the girl hey and she's like hi all right and then you now have the final stage which is your lil phase now this is after ovulation and you know your ruptured follicle transforms into something else so you're now creating progesterone yeah which helps prepare the uterine lining for implantation for a fertilized egg so this is the time where oh maybe if she she now gets pregnant your womb your body your you uterus is becoming warm and getting ready to house a baby this now takes you to what day 28 in 30 days of a month so do you see why she might come across as overly angry or overly emotional or overly anything so while some comes with pain yes it also comes with the miseration you have cramps from the back me before my mis miseration every month I have cramps from the back i you could see me literally limping almost limping because yeah because of um yeah but once it's out you're good I'm good then mood swing comes then like normally and then appetite if yeah if you want to eat so much or want to eat less and sometimes um it's it could just be all sugar yeah I know about that you're just buying chocolates and you're just buying candies and you're just doing all that crazy stuff so the thing is I feel like with this being said and while we've made like you know we've talked about all the fem stuff I just need to point out the fact that being emotional doesn't mean you're being weak this is for the guys at all actually it means that you're at your bravest when you're able to be vulnerable and hold things together so feel free to have your emotions feel free to express it as well because I figure out that a lot of men like even the guys are saying that men are very emotional it's just that they don't show it and that's why you guys get upset at us but for us because you never appreciate our emotions we assume that you are not emotional but you know with experience you get to know that actually men are what did you want to say i think some like you said something and you said um if you don't feel if you don't cry come on could you repeat it no no like if you don't cry when if you don't cry then you hold that means it's okay okay yeah yeah so you know like when we were emotional we like to express it so that at least the thing can come out the emotion can come out but with the guys they always hold it in which now makes it so intense and then they too don't know how to react to us is that what you were talking about mhm but most ladies do not really appreciate it like you said really do not really appreciate it when a guy shows his emotion oh really yeah most ladies do not really buy it why most ladies do buy it they really that's what turns them on sorry to say most ladies it gives them the the green flag yo this guy is as um as emotional that means he could really relate to me why most ladies they are like Okay so the thing is I don't know to be fair I feel like with the ladies that don't like or appreciate emotional men it's because they don't feel like their own emotions are being appreciated so yeah or valid thank you if their own emotions are being valued then they can reciprocate because I figure out that women are kind of like that where we treat you how we want to be treated and then we treat you how you are treating us yeah so if for instance you're in a relationship with a guy and then the guy acknowledges your emotions you will be able to acknowledge his naturally but I think that those women who don't appreciate it maybe they're in like relationships where their partner doesn't look Yeah or show any emotion so they like I be this guy is a CC if the guy most like most ladies I've heard someone say "Oh he turns me on when um he hits me." Oh [ __ ] yeah someone told me that it's so toxic yeah someone told me that he turns me on when he hits me which is really really not normal okay so Daf she's going through trauma and she has to go see I'm serious she has to see a therapist i'm really being honest there is no there is no arousing in pain i mean in pain that is inflicted on you from a negative standpoint not like something that you want but although everybody has their own kinko and everybody can be like how they want to be but I feel like if somebody has to hit you to a place where it hurts you so bad then you're traumatized and you need therapy that's my opinion i think so you agree you're right i think so you look like somebody that might like toxicity you look like a toxic no no no no no i do not like that but I could indulge yeah when it comes sexually maybe but not not every day like yeah not every time i told you this girl is a bad gay i know she's a bad well guys it's been amazing here on just my POV like I said earlier at the start of the show it was an all girls tin so I had with me Becky with a good hair and you really spoke to us about a lot of scenes and you showed those your bad side it was really amazing anyways guys until next time you already know the drill stay safe and make sure to subscribe the House of Chronicles on YouTube and always keep it a date on this show Just My POV [Music]
