Wanna again welcome you to The 405 Coffee Break, guys. Friday weekend's coming. Get you a cup of coffee, glass iced tea, or bottle of water. Let's see what's happening out there. Spring wheat $5.18 a bushel, 550lb steer calf $4.77 a pound, Butcher hog in Iowa 68ยข a pound, and a lamb that's fat in Billings, $2.03 a pound. But guys, there's more, much more.
OK Solberg:I'm happy to announce that there's gonna be a new weekly segment on The 405 every week on Monday. Every week on Monday, it'll be the same theme. Let that hang in the air for a moment. I did that pause for a reason. Let it hang in the air for a moment. Some are thinking, hope it's quilting, And others are thinking, I hope it isn't fiction or baseball.
OK Solberg:Hey, this might be a good time for a Bible verse. Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
OK Solberg:Oh, I know, not everyone likes talking about paint drying or why they incorporated income tax in 1913. But don't panic. It's just once a week. In the other four days, we can talk about nearly anything else of interest. But starting Monday, October 13, there's gonna be a new weekly program and I think I might call it Jay and Joe's Motor Monday.
OK Solberg:Yes. The day we honor horsepower one Monday at a time. Now you might ask, why Jay and Joe? Well, see, I don't know anyone named Jay, and I don't know anyone named Joe. So that way I won't offend anyone.
OK Solberg:Oh, I do remember the theme song from Petticoat Junction though. And there's uncle Joe. He's a moving kinda slow at the junction. Petticoat Junction. So since I don't know anyone who has those names, it will make it noncontroversial.
OK Solberg:I was thinking about Ichabod and Hezekiah, but Ichabod and Hezekiah's motor Monday did not sound as nice as Jay and Joe's motor Monday. Oh, guys, you know as well as I that names are so important. Think about Joe's, the drive in out south. I'll meet you out at Joe's. That's just nice.
OK Solberg:Hey, Carol. I'll see you at Leo's, you know, across the street from Reggie's Diner. A name can establish a business. A name is so important. I don't suppose any of you ever played arcade video games like Pac Man or Frogger.
OK Solberg:The Long X Pizza Corelle in Malta, Montana used to have them both. And guys, I loved Frogger. The music was part of the appeal. Did you know that seriously I have two of them, two Frogger machines? Not one, but two arcade frogger games in my house.
OK Solberg:I do. And, yes, I do have a good wife. Honestly, one is the full size stand up model that they had in arcades across the land and the other one is a full size tabletop model. It was nice because your legs could get tired while you're navigating that frog across the highway and make sure to eat the fly whenever possible. Then you got extra points.
OK Solberg:Oh, yeah. And an episode that I'm particularly fond of when it comes to Seinfeld is the frogger episode where joy George buys the frogger machine so he can preserve the high score that he had from his childhood? Good stuff. Lots of laughs. But I have you all confused.
OK Solberg:You're wondering why I'm saying all this when I was talking about the importance of names. Well, Frogger is a great name and the inventor of the game was originally considering calling it Highway Crossing Frog. Highway Highway Crossing Frog. Did you ever watch family feud when they get a wrong answer? The sound is like an annoying buzzer.
OK Solberg:When I hear highway crossing frog, that's the sound I hear in my mind's eye. Annoying buzzer. So I'd say they came up with a delightful name, Frogger. Just beautiful. And guys, it wasn't even a word, but it is now.
OK Solberg:So tune in Monday for Jay & Joe's Motor Monday. It's gonna be about what will it be about? Will it be about electric motors or internal combustion engines? I guess you'll have to wait and see.
OK Solberg:Don't forget the Mustang football team undefeated and playing Fairfield in Fairfield tonight at six. Yep. That's right. Less than two hours away. Go blue.
OK Solberg:So until next time as you go out there, remember now. Don't be bitter.
