Welcome to the Know the Difference Minute for Tuesday, April 11th.
Back in the day, all NFL superfans needed was $80 a month with DirectTV. But, YouTube TV is the new home of the Sunday Ticket—part of a $2 billion-a-year deal to stream out-of-market games.
Pricing is now public and it’s not far off DirectTV—in fact, YouTube did extensive research to see what fans were willing to pay.
YouTubeTV is $73 a month—and has 5 million subscribers. If you have that, Sunday Ticket is $350 for the season. If you want Redzone, it’s $390. Without YouTubeTV monthly it’s $450—or $490 for Redzone. We’re also hearing about mid or late season packages but YouTube isn’t commenting.
Big move for YouTubeTV—and might be a way to watch a certain New York team who may or may not wind up with a new QB under center.
