Like a master surveyor, Jesus gives us clear directions to find a fulfilling, purpose-filled relationship with Himself - a map to the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Charted is a daily devotional written by the junior class at Fountainview Academy (Class of 2019). Based on the book Steps to Christ, this book explores the path to the Originator and Provider of Genuine Joy. We don't have to be confused about the way. The certainty is in the journey: divinely Charted.
There is no chapter in our experience too dark for Him to read; there
is no perplexity too difficult for Him to unravel. No calamity can befall
the least of His children, no anxiety harass the soul, no joy cheer,
no sincere prayer escape the lips, of which our heavenly Father is
unobservant, or in which He takes no immediate interest. “He healeth
the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3.

Rooted inside my inner being lies an untold story that no one
knows. Deep wounds smolder within me, buried underneath the walls
that mask them. Although seldom surfacing, the volcano of tears will
occasionally swell within and erupt onto my pale cheeks. The emotions
can no longer be hidden behind the mask.
I am a wretched soul. The trials of life have formed an abyss
within me. Hanging together by thin cords of love, I still exist; but
without the support of my fellow comrades, I would be long gone,
buried underneath the dry dirt.
Without a Savior, I have no hope. Stress drifts into my life and
shoves its burdens onto my weary shoulders, and its load is more than
I can bear. Without God, I am left in the pit of despair. I have no hope
for a better life, so I plaster a smile on my face and conceal myself
behind my mask.
But with the presence of Jesus, I have the assurance of an
endless supply of love that not only fills my soul, but overflows to
fill others. Even though the deep wounds still rest inside me, Jesus’
tender hands have mended my brokenness and made me whole.
