What is Gospel Portions?

Reminders of the gospel that was preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, that you may hold fast to the word preached to you.

Ryan Bush:

He measured and he brought me through the waters. Ezekiel 47:3. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee, and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee. Isaiah 43:2.

Ryan Bush:

Our waters are shallow because his were deep. In Psalm 69:2, we see what he suffered. I am come into deep waters where the floods overflow me. For us, there is no overflowing. They shall not overflow thee is his promise. For himself those awful depths. Is there anything we can keep back from such a savior? Oh lord, take our all, our uttermost all. Do with us what Thou wilt, if only Thy name be glorified, Thy heart satisfied. Amy Carmichael.

Ryan Bush:

Overwhelmed in depths of woe upon the tree of scorn, hangs the redeemer of mankind with racking anguish torn. See how the nails those hands and feet so tender rend. See down his face and neck and breast, his sacred blood descend. Hark with what awful cry his spirit takes its flight. That cry, it pierced his mother's heart and whelmed her soul in night. Earth hears and to its base, rocks wildly to and fro. Tombs burst, seas, rivers, mountains quake. The veil is rent in tune. Edward Caswall.
