Hey,

if you're listening to the show and you're like, I wish I could talk to those guys. I've got a thought. Yeah. Share it.

I would love. I would love to talk to you. Yeah. You can call us. You can email us.

I mean, I would probably just email. That's easier.

You can DM us.

On socials. Yeah. Sure. That's easy too. Do that or email us.

People get a hold of us that way.

Wake up classy97 at gmail.com. I like talking to you. Okay. Okay.

You just sent me a video. Um, and it is a TikTok of Glenn Close.

It's from Glenn Close's TikTok.

And she's just checking in, and everyone is like, Glenn, we love you. Where have you been? But then also, Glenn, get back in the house. Right. Protect yourself. Bubble wrap. Glenn, we can't, we can't afford to lose you two. We lost two really great ones this week. This year we've lost some really great ones. We can't lose Glenn close.

And earlier this morning you were sharing with me a list of amazing people who were like, we need to protect all of these people.

And these are people who are, you know, 80 plus years, and who need to be protected at all costs.

You would mention like Morgan Freeman.

Morgan Freeman is on the show. Yep. Who else is on the club? Judy Dench. Oh, of course. Carol Burnett. Oh. Julie Andrews. Dick Van Dyke is on the list. Van Dyke, Jane Fonda, William Shatner, Shirley McLean, Lily Tomlin, Sir David Attenborough, George Takai, Michael Kane, Mel Brooks.

This is a huge one.

We gotta listen. We have to put these people in a room. Is that safe? I don't know.

I don't either. Don't put them all in the same spot.

We can't lose these people. We just can't.

What a what a humongous, powerful list of people. I know. Yeah, we gotta. I don't know what we have to do. We need to make sure they're protected.

You guys stay safe. Lily Tomlin and Carol Burnett, I'm looking at you. You don't go anywhere. And also Glenn Close. And also Dick Van Dyke.

I know, I know. That is a who's who. Stop. They're all over 80. They're all over 80. Oh my goodness.

I mean, Dick Van Dyke is 100. He's gonna be 101 in December. Sir David Attenborough is 100. Mel Brooks is 100. Wow. Oh, you guys. We can't lose you.

It is interesting how uh the older that we get, the more we recognize the names of the people that are you know celebrities and well-known uh you know personalities that are passing away. I think as you're when you're younger, you're like, oh, my parents are upset. They found out that person died. Yeah. Uh boy, is that a list. I know. Okie dokie. Oh, kidoke. Well, here's today's show. Hey over there.

Hey over there. What's up? Cody ho. Uh, what's going on? Um just hanging around. Just hanging around.

It's one of my favorite favorite uh memes or whatever. Yeah, I just love it. The guy's name is Beetlejuice, uh, which is a great name. I don't think it's his given name.

I don't think that's what his parents were like, this is Beetlejuice. So I don't know why he's called that, but I just love it. And he uh he stands around and somebody says, What are you doing here? And he goes, looks around and me. Oh, just hanging around. Just hanging around.

One of the greatest responses, I think, pretty much ever to that question. What are you doing here? Just hanging around. Just hanging around, man. Just doing my thing.

So good. Well, hey, uh Oh, hey. I don't know what's happening today.

Other than no. I keep uh trying to figure out. Uh I have one one of the guys I work with here. Yeah. Uh, after you leave, has asked me to go on uh an appointment. Today. I don't remember when he didn't send in like a calendar invite. It was just like a verbal, like, hey, when I go do that, you want to go with? And I went, yeah, just let me know. And I don't know what day that's supposed to happen.

Oh, Josh, guess what? You're gonna have to have uh an adult conversation.

Well, I thought it was yesterday, but it never happened. So I went, well, it wasn't today.

You're gonna have to just ask. I haven't seen him. Who is it? Daniel. Oh. Go with Dan. Just go ask Daniel. I'll go with Daniel. He's the he's the happiest boy in the whole land.

Well, uh me and the happiest boy in the land are supposed to take an adventure, but I can't remember when. Oh. So uh it might be today. It might be. Today might be the adventure day. And then every day I wake up and I go, I gotta go potentially meet some people. Should I dress like a schlub or should I dress yesterday? I was like, I'm gonna dress a little bit nicer because I thought it was yesterday. Maybe it was. It wasn't yesterday.

Did you are you sure? Did he leave without you? I was here all day. Like maybe you were supposed to show up, maybe you were supposed to meet him at his office at a certain time and you didn't show up.

And he was like, We didn't talk about that. Josh stood me up. No, we didn't talk about anything. like that.

Be a be a grown-up and have that important conversation. Yeah.

I would just hope he was gonna put it on the calendar, you know.

You don't even work by the calendar. You don't read the calendar.

I read the calendar every day. The work calendar. Yeah. Yeah. Uh well. It might be the You're gonna have to ask. It might be next week. Guess what? You're gonna have to ask. Yeah, I know. Is it a fun adventure? Um potentially. It's the thing I was telling you about. Oh.

Oh, yeah, I told you about it. And you remember clearly. My people tell me a lot of things. I have to remember so many things. Do you know that I have to remember so many things? How many? Uh so many. Count them. Good morning.

Here is some good news for you. This is a story out of upstate New York where there is a gas station that understands a lot of people are having some pain at the pump these days. And so they are offering up a 20% discount to customers who will dance for it. I love that. I know you do.

I love people dancing.

That's right. So the Half Moon Sunaco, which is near Albany, uh offered customers the discount if they danced for at least 15 seconds while filling up.

I thought you were gonna say 15 minutes. Dude, that's like nothing. Yeah, 15 seconds.

You gotta do a dance. They throw on some music for you, even. Uh the uh stations got a young person who's their social media manager. Perfect. Who wanted to bring a little relief and some laughter to customers who were feeling a pitch of the pump, so all of this is captured on their uh their TikTok page.

I love it. Customers are showing off some pretty good moves. Some twerking to Michael Jackson inspired routines. Uh that particular video is racked up more than a million views online. Uh the dancers aren't just having fun, though. Some saved as much as $15 off their free.

This is what I'm saying. You're having fun, you're getting a good smile, and you're saving some money.

Yeah, you get You get a little exercise, get your heart running for 15 seconds, do a little ditty, drive away happy. And then you save some money. Yeah, kind of fun. I can dig on that. Yeah. Dancing for discounts. Cool. I know.

Dancing for discounts. Is that what it's called? That's what I just called it. Bro, I'll dance for a discount. Yeah. Yeah. Nice. That's some good news. What's up? Hey, I uh got my swimming cap yesterday. That's right. And uh took myself to the pool. I mean, I drove you. Well fair. But sure thing. I walked I walked myself to the pool.

That's correct. You did carry your own weight to the pool and got in the water all by yourself. And I did 30 minutes of laps.

Well, that's good. I know. It was good. How do you feel? Great. Great.

While you were doing that, I did another two miles of uh of treadmill hiking. Uh I found a new treadmill that I like a lot. I'm not gonna tell anybody about it because I want to keep it a secret. Okay. But I like it a lot. Okay. I want to use that one all the time. Congratulations.

Now, I like to swim. I think swimming is good exercise. And I say that you should exercise and do something that you enjoy doing because then you're gonna want to do it more.

Sure. That's why I picked swimming. Plus also, it's good resistance. The water? The water, yeah. Um, so I bought a swim cap because I didn't want to have to get my hair wet all the time.

Well, when I met you at the end of uh the evening at the hot tub, you didn't have it on and your hair looked a little wet. And I said, Did your swim cap work? It did work.

Yeah, but it covers my ears. And so that was kind of like annoying at times because it was like I couldn't it felt like I don't know how to describe it. So I would lift up the flaps a little bit to get some air in my ears. Uh-huh. And then I would shut them, but one time I didn't like close the cap all the way. So then as I was swimming, it was like flapping.

Yeah, you shouldn't just cover your ears.

And then there was water that Steve did. Yeah. But it did great. I didn't spend that much money on it, so I didn't have high hopes, but it did great. Well, good. Okay, here's my complaint.

And I have I have to complain. What is it? Uh there is a pool where you do lap swims, and there was only one lane open for lap swimming. And I arrived at the same time as some other women.

And they both got into the lap lane. Fine. That's fine. I decided to do some laps outside of the lane. Yeah. They weren't doing laps though. They were just kind of bobbing around.

They shouldn't have been in the lap pool.

And then I had to avoid kids that were then entering the the pool. Which they shouldn't be in the lap pool. Yeah. So that was that was a complaint of mine. I was just like, hey, can I just please use the power?

I think you're gonna have to be an adult and have a conversation.

No, I won't. I think you're gonna have to.

I think you're gonna have to say, hey, if you're not swimming laps, you need to move over.

Yeah, you're just bobbing around.

You need to be that person so that you can do your workout the way you're supposed to. If you're the only one who was there to swim laps, yeah, it was move over.

Give me my lap lane and move over. Yeah. I mean, it's kind of I mean, it's direct. You're not being mean, you're being direct and saying, if you're not swimming laps, then move over.

I mean, you're kind of just bobbing around. That's what I'm saying. You can bob around with all these kids. That's exactly what I'm saying.

And you're gonna have to be the person to go, hey, if you're not swimming laps, I need that lane. And then they'll go, oh, our bad. No one wants the confrontation.

That's a lie. People get so mad. What's gonna happen? They're gonna say, No, I'm not gonna get out. And then I'll say, Okay, well, then I have to leave and run away and never come back.

And then you go, all right, I'll be back. And then you go to the front and you tell the attendant or whatever, you go, hey, we got some we got people in the lap pool that aren't supposed to be there. This needs to change. And then they come in and go, if you're not swimming laps, you gotta move over.

I that's cute that you think. And they'll back you up.

Yeah, the 16-year-old kid will back you up. Doubtful.

Yeah. I mean, this is common knowledge, right? Like, this is common pool etiquette knowledge. Well, I like if there's a lane, I mean, every pool I've ever been to. If there's lanes, you don't go in the lanes unless you're swimming laps.

Swimming laps, I know. That's it.

Otherwise, you go to the other part of the pool.

I was fine outside of the lane. I was like, I can still do laps. This is great. Until kids showed up. And then they were practicing diving, and so then I was having to swim around them. Yeah, and then I went, This would be avoidable if I was just in the lap lane. Right. And I looked over and wanted to just stopped and was reading the rules. Yeah.

You can do that from the other side. Get out of the lane. That's what you should have said. You should have stopped and went, Hey, are you swimming laps? Because if you're not, I could use that lane.

I could use that lane.

You don't have to say it as mean as I'm saying it. You could be nicer.

I don't think I'm gonna do that.

I'm taking on extra frustration for you. Thanks, dear. That's nice. Because it's rude. Well that's like camping in the left lane on the freeway. Move it. Yeah. What are you doing?

Pay attention to your surroundings and move over. It's the same thing. But anyway, I feel great. Well, good. Swimming. Yeah. That's what I do. Tribu every time I finish. Yeah. Yeah.

Feeling good. And now I've got to set some PRs. Oh. Personal records. So did you count? I did. And then I stopped. And then I kind of forgot how many laps I was doing. But I really got to focus on some form. My form is real bad. Okay.

I gotta really and how now were you just swimming and turning around and swimming back and turning around and swimming and turn just doing that over and over? Or did you were you like going under and like pushing off the water?

No, I don't know how to do that. I need to work on doing that. I don't know how to do that. I did uh side and stroke is my favorite.

Okay. And so I did a lot of that, and then I did like the front crawl. Not so good at that, so I need to practice that. My form is very bad at my front crawl. I did some backstroke. Yeah. And then I tread, I did some treading water. because that's also good. Sure.

What's it like to be able to do that? So easy. That's not what I meant. That was rude. I'm sorry. So easy. Just do it. That's what you want. What's wrong with you? It's so easy.

That's what you say about me in whistling. You're like, it's so easy. I never said it's so easy. Yeah. No.

I said you're doing it wrong. That's all I've ever said about it. Much nicer. Do it right. Just do it right. Well, congrats on your swim. Thank you. You you bought a thing to do a thing and you did the thing.

I did the thing. Now we gotta keep doing the thing.

I'm gonna post the video here in just a minute of you putting on your swim cap. Because it's a good one. So make sure you're following us on socials. Classy97 KLCE. If you want to see that video. So this morning I'm uh just scrolling Facebook and I stumble across a conversation that I uh this is kind of a little bit controversial. Uh and a lot of people have kind of said, look, let's just agree that we can disagree on this one. Uh oh. Yeah. So uh this is uh labeled public service announcement, but I feel like it's more of like hey, this is an opinion, and I think everyone should agree with my opinion.

That's kind of the the the way it's presented, anyway. So uh this is this is from the point of view who some but this is someone who puts together like massive Christmas light shows. Okay, right, and does a phenomenal job. Okay, right, like really, really good job. Uh and they said we need to calm down with the permanent Christmas lights, which is an interesting take. Uh-huh. Because I know like I want them on our house because I think they're super cool. And the argument is this. I understand you paid a bunch of money to put these lights on your house, they can go 16 million different colors, you can control with your phone.

Maybe you feel financially obligated to use them because you paid so much money to have them installed, makes sense. Christmas, absolutely, Halloween, sure. Fourth of July, fine. I would say when your favorite sports team is playing and you want to support them.

Like the birthdays. I think there are certainly occasions where you might stay. Yeah, you might light it up for a holiday or something, right? Special occasion. Uh they said, but it's a random Wednesday in August. Maybe your house doesn't need to be purple.

Or maybe because it's a random day in August, it does need to be purple.

And this is why it's so back and forth and controversial. It's just joyful. That's correct. Yeah. Uh so this this person said, just because they can be on 365 days a year, doesn't mean they should be. I don't give them a rest and let people miss them. And then when Christmas rolls around, fire those babies up and remind everyone why Christmas lights are actually exciting.

Uh I disagree with this person.

Well, and that's that's why the comments are so back and forth here. People are like, I mean, if I spent that kind of money, I'm gonna do it. And then other people are like, yeah, uh, we could definitely remember the magical feeling of happy Christmas lights.

Just because somebody has lights up all year that takes away the magic of the Christmas lights. Sure. I think lights are fun. Yeah.

Well, and then you've got this major like lighted up green campaign for Dom going on throughout Idaho Falls, where a lot of people have turned their homes green for that. So again, there's a cause for that.

Yeah. To have your your home green on, you know, as a represent uh representation, um, which is kind of uh a cool thing. I it's really interesting, and again, now this is from the point of view of someone who builds Christmas light shows and does a really big, big, big great job at doing that. Okay, so that's kind of like and uh actually ends it as sincerely a guy currently spending an unreasonable amount of time preparing a Christmas light show in August, like planning and preparing and so I get it.

I get it. I don't know, but I also want the stuff on there, and I don't know that I would have them like running a color all the time. I might have them like white, like all the time, but then you know, you want to light them up for different different reasons.

I don't see what the complaint is about. I think they're fun, yeah. And I would like to come home. I think it would be fun to come home and be like, oh yeah, my house is twinkly lights. Right. I think twinkle lights are fun. Yeah, pretty much.

I wonder if I if it was just white and not like a random Wednesday purple, if that would have the same impact, right? I yeah, but the permanent lighting's really cool. I wish I had it on the house.

I think it would be super fun. Because every year when I go to like it's the end of the holiday season and the Christmas light timer gets turned off, and you know, and then we're like, okay. I would light them up all the time. Back to boring house, yeah.

I wouldn't, I yeah. Back to Boringhouse. That's what it is. I I get it. I would I agree with you. I would keep them on all the time. And I would change.

Even if they were just white. But then special occasions and whatever, I might change them up.

Birthdays, anniversaries. I would always be changing those colors. Yeah. I don't mind them. I think they're fun. I think they're happy. Quit trying to steal someone's joy. Ah.

No, I think I think uh it's a it's a mix of opinion, is what it is. I don't think anybody's trying to steal anybody's joy. I think it's definitely you've got uh a uh a guy who's very passionate about what he does, who's like, hey, save it. This is a really exciting time. We should all be excited for it, and this is taking down it's removing the novelty of it, but I think

that's how you make a random Wednesday in August. Exciting. You're not wrong.

I'm not saying you're wrong. And that is why the majority of the comments are like, look, we're just gonna have to agree to disagree on this one.

You love when people I don't like that saying, but that's what they're saying is you know, we're gonna have to we're gonna have to just let people have a little joy sometimes. Uh, but I do look forward to uh this particular family light show. It's a big one. It's gonna be a lot of fun. Christmas is it's less than 90 days away, four months away. Yeah. It's it's coming real quick.

Somebody asked me yesterday when Christmas music was gonna be starting.

The same time it starts every year. For anyone who's asking, because that's a grow it's a strong question that we get starting now between now and Halloween. We get asked a lot. It's gonna start the same time it starts every year. But it changes every year. No, it doesn't. It's the same time it starts every year. When it started last year, same time this year. The year before that, same time this year.

I couldn't even tell you when it started. I don't even remember.

When it shows up, it shows up. That is correct. There it is.

We will uh heavily promote the countdown to when it's gonna kick off. Let's enjoy the rest of summer. Let's get through Labor Day and Halloween, and then we'll talk about it. Okay. Let's just slow slow down. Give us a couple of months, and then we'll figure it out. It's coming. There is some exciting stuff going on tonight.

Tonight. Did you see the moon last night? I showed it to you. I did. I said, look at the size of that moon. And I said, Wow. Yeah. Uh, there's a double show uh tonight. Uh big beautiful moon and a lunar eclipse. About 1010. Um Our time. lunar eclipse.

That's a normal time. Sometimes when they're like, Well, you can only see this amazing thing at 3 35 in the morning.

Yeah, no, this is the uh it's a partial lunar eclipse. It will peak around 1010 our time. That's mountain time. It's about 1212 a.m. Eastern time. Um at the same time that this is happening, it is possible that the northern lights could be putting on their own show.

So we've seen the northern lights a lot this year, it

seems this over the past couple of years for sure. Uh so expect to see the maximum eclipse around 1010. So the moon will kind of look you know, reddish, like behind a shadow. Um, and then you've also got the uh really the really cool chance of seeing the northern lights. So um, all of that happening kind of at the same time. It's uh they're calling it a double sky show. Double sky show.

Okay, yeah. So around 10-10. Um, as far as the should we put it in the calendar?

Sure, why not? Okay, I will put it for 10 because I think so the partial starts around 8:30, maximum eclipse around 1010. Partial ends around 1150, and then you'll have the big full moon at one o'clock.

Double sky show in the calendar, 10 o'clock. Got it. Okay. Anything else you'd like me to put in the calendar?

Well, I don't know the timing on the northern lights, but that could be it could be happening all at the same time. Um, and we should have uh in eastern Idaho and into the northern part of eastern Idaho, the further south you go, the more likely you're gonna have to use your camera to see it. But up higher, looks pretty good. You might just be able to see some of it, sort of like what we saw on the Fourth of July.

Yeah, it was really cool. on the 4th of July. Okay. So that's what I know. That's what you know.

A double sky show tonight. Okay.

It's in the calendar. I'm gonna check it out. Okay.

I'm glad it's in the calendar to be checked out. Thank you for doing that. Much appreciated. You're welcome.

Uh buddy, this is you. Uh buddy.

I I have exciting news to share with you. And I know I've been talking a little bit of video games lately, but I think of all the things I've ever told you about video games, this one is going to be the most exciting thing that I've told you in a while. I want you really quick to take a look. So let me let me tell you what happened. There was a big uh like video game convention uh very recently where a lot of games were announced. Okay.

Go ahead and click on stage tour.com. Okay. And uh this launches December 10th this year. It is quite literally uh rock band. A new rock band. And if you scroll all the way down, they're bringing back a new guitar, they're bringing a drum kit, they're bringing the mic, they've got new music, they've got new, better built uh hardware, uh, and it looks great. And I really want the drum kit with the three cymbals, I do too, and the double kick pedal. I do too. Uh and I know you do. Uh, and the guitar and the mic, uh, it is really cool.

And you can pre-order the bundle right now, and it comes out December 10th. Uh, and I think it looks awesome. They didn't spend a lot of time on the graphics, they made it look like guitar hero graphics or rock band graphics.

They didn't really do much uh to change any of that. Um, So if you played these games, if you remember playing rock band, if you remember playing Guitar Hero, uh-huh. Uh, they're they're bringing it back and in a big way, and it looks awesome. And they've got new stages, and they've got um some of the artist reveals um for some of the songs that are going to be in the game, uh, which is really cool.

I'm super excited. And they've partnered with some great brands like Gibson and Epiphone uh for some of the guitars, some of the amps from like Mesa Boogie. Like it's really cool. I I really think this is uh it's about time that this generation had a guitar hero rock band kind of situation.

I love rock bass. I know.

But the the drum kit with the two kicks and the cymbals and stuff is really cool. It's really, really cool. I want that too. Yeah. So you can get the like the base game with the guitar play uh with the guitar uh controller for like 130. You get two guitars.

Um, but they're wireless. Wait. Did you see that?

Yes. The guitars are wireless, which I think is really cool. Uh so you don't have to like stand so close to your TV to play the game, uh, which I think is really awesome. We used to play this a lot.

A lot. And our kids used to play this. And Emory used to sing, and she was just little, but she liked singing the Eye of the Tiger. That's right. You are correct. You and Beck would always fight for the drums a little bit, and then you always won. So he ended up with a guitar, which was fine because he actually plays guitar. He's very good at guitar, yeah. And what did I do? I guess I got stuck at the bass.

the bass. You did a lot of singing. No. We would go back and forth on some of the

uh No, I always got stuck with the bass because nobody wanted to do the bass, and I was like, well, take one for the team so everybody else can have fun.

So, in addition to the standard guitar that you see there, if you go to the shop all products page, um, you can see that they have released a Gibson Explorer controller, uh, which is really cool.

Okay, uh hold on. Would a console is this for?

Uh, this will be available on, of course you would ask. Um let me see.

I don't want to have to buy a new console, is what I'm asking.

Oh, no, no. We'll we'll be fine. Um PC PS5 and Xbox Series X or S. Well, we have a PS5. That is correct. Um, yeah, I want this. I know, me too.

I love rock band. I know one of the best games ever. Yeah.

So stage tour uh was announced, and uh, you know, at this at this gaming convention that just you know, this past few days, and it's so cool.

It does look cool. I'm looking at that. Then do you think you could actually learn how to play drums with that real basic drum there? Absolutely. I do.

Because you're playing. I mean, here's the thing. your form Your form is going to be a little bit different. That's probably the hardest part is that your form is gonna be like sitting behind an acoustic drum kit like we have is different than sitting behind an electric drum kit. But this is set up just like an electric drum kit. So you're gonna have the double foot pedal thing, which is cool. It's gonna give you, you know, you're gonna have your snare, and you're gonna have toms, and you're gonna have symbols of the you know different crash and ride symbols.

I think it it give you as close a real representation of an electric drum kit as you're gonna get without having like a full-on electric drum kit. It's cool. I'm on it. I like rock band. I know. It was super duper fun. Stage tour. Coming soon. Yeah, coming December is when it comes out. Pre-order. Now, it's expensive. Well, yeah, I know. But you want it.

The only video game better than Mario Kart or that's like up there with Mario Kart. Is rock band. It's back. Yes. Okay. There is something called a wabi sabi. Yes.

And uh this is a traditional Japanese worldview and aesthetic. That's right. That uh where did it how the kids are saying it, right? Like the the kids of the world are saying this.

I don't know if they are, but I

thought that's where we first heard it. People were saying wabi sabi.

Well, I think I saw some videos on like TikTok and stuff, but it wasn't like the youths that were saying it. It was more of like people understanding the concept, but it was adults that were like, I'm embracing my wobbi sabi.

Okay, okay. So explain what wobbi sabi is.

It's uh the the celebration of imperfection, I would say is really uh the it encourages you to accept um the things that are aging and decaying and naturally just off center. Thank you.

Yeah, beautiful description. Now explain to everybody why you called me your wobbi sobby. Because look at you. You're my wobbi sabby.

Oh, I think it's adorable. I think it's great. It's it's such a great term of endearment. What do you mean?

You just said it's celebrating decay.

I mean, that's like the definition. But it says like it's the uh here's what it says. Accept the natural cycle of growth, aging, and decay rather than chasing an impossible standard of perfection. Okay, you're my wabi sabi. And I and I like that about you. I like that you're like handmade, you're not like uh from a factory.

You know what I mean? Like I go to the mall and I look around and I go, you're the same, you're the same, you're the same, you're the same. And then I go, wobby sabby.

Cookie cutter, cookie cutter, cookie, wobby sabby.

That's me. That's what I'm saying. Well, when you put it like that, that's nice.

How else would I put it?

When you read the definition and the definition you just gave.

Oh, you're just looking at the things where it's like... decay. Look on me. You said that those are the words in the definition, and imperfection.

Yes. And yes, unique features. Yeah.

Like of all the like celebrity people that I go, that's an attractive celebrity. What is it about them? Unique features.

Yeah. You don't typically go for the cookie cutter, cookie cutter, cookie cutter.

Wobby sabi. That's mine. Like the wobbi sabi. That's it.

I'm trying to decide if that's better. I think it's better. It's a nice compliment the way that you say it. Initially, I went, is that better or worse than being compared to a largemouth bass? It's a sturdy fish.

Sturdy fish. A good strong fish. I don't fish for them. But they're good, sturdy fish. Here's the two words. Wobby and Sabby. Okay. Wabi, it says, originally meant solitude or the misery of living isolated in nature. It evolved to represent a serene, modest and austere beauty found in simplicity and humble living. So it changed. And then Sabi originally meant chill or withered, and it came to mean patina wear or rustic elegance that objects and people develop gracefully over time. I have a rustic elegant. That's what I'm saying. Wobby Sabi.

I've developed this picture.

I think everybody should embrace their wobbi sabby, first of all. So there is in traditional Japanese aesthetic. If there's like a rice bowl that breaks. Yeah. So you have this beautiful thing, this beautiful piece of of you know ancient dinner wear. And it breaks, they don't just throw it away.

They'll fill in the gaps with you know gold and different things to kind of put it back together. And that bowl's now wobbi sabby. There's no other bowl like it. It's unique. It has its uh broke and it's been rebuilt, and now it has new restored beauty. Wabi Sabi. It's fantastic.

Well, that's actually really nice, Josh. It's a great compliment. The way that you say it is nice. Thanks for the compliment, dear. You're welcome. You're my wobby sabby. When Star Wars Day was here, when was that? May 4th? That's right, May the 4th. Um, we had some the graphic designer in the building made everybody Jedi.

That's right. Yeah, did ever like everybody in a poster and stuff. Yeah, it was very cool. And then somebody came in and said,

When you have hair, you look like Matt Damon.

Yeah, I've and I'm looking at the picture because it's still hanging on the wall here that says may the fourth be with you. And uh, and here's the thing about it. Like, I know um I'm bald, but for some reason as she was trying to make me a Jedi, uh like the the software, the whatever rendering thing she was using was messing up and kept like giving me like weird hair, or it would like it wouldn't put a hood on, like it just was freaking out about me being bald.

So thanks, Adobe. You got like a hair thing, you don't like it when people are bald. So uh Adobe couldn't make it happen uh to where I didn't have hair. So finally she was like, well, then he's just gonna have hair. Uh he's a bald guy, but he's gonna have hair for Star Wars Day. And so uh yeah, with the hair, which honestly, like that's not a bad looking uh quaff.

Like that's that's a good looking hairdo. Yeah, it is uh on on my picture. Yeah. I mean, it's kind of pompador-ish in the front. Uh, but it's a it's a good look.

Yeah. And you do look a little bit like Matt Damon in that Jedi photo.

Is that a compliment that I look like Matt Damon?

Yes. Okay. So then we're getting a text from some of our friends last night, and they put uh

Well, you just like threw a Karen hairdo. Asymmetrical, terrible looking like a Kate Gosling. It's a it's a K Goslin haircut. He took a snapshot from the backpack video that you shared. Yes. And then put on this terrible Karen wig. Yeah. And then hand gave me a corn dog in my hand. And then what's that about?

Same friend or a different friend in the same text group says, you kind of look like Matt Damon. Yeah. And I went, second time, you've gotten that. Yeah.

But then he made the hair black, and then he said, No, he looks like Adam Lambert.

Yeah, kinda. You kind of do.

I don't look like Adam Lambert.

Not enough eyeliner. That's true. Um, but then I was looking at pictures, yeah. And you do kind of look like Matt Damon. You really do. With hair, Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So then I was telling the kids, the kids and I were talking about it.

Yeah. And they were like, he does not look like Matt Damon. You don't look like Matt Tateman. Beck, especially. Yeah. And then he goes, just like mom doesn't look like Scarlett Johansson, because somebody told me once that I look like Scarlett Johansson.

Well, aren't we just a couple of celebs? Matt Damon and Scarjo. Look at us go.

Oh. And then Emery said that she kind of gets told that she looks like Jennifer Lawrence a little bit. Okay. And Beck said, I'd buy into Emery looking like Jennifer Lawrence, but you do not look like Scarlet Johansson. And Dad does not look like Matt Damon. I was like, settle down, dude. Give me a compliment once.

I gotta look up. I think you look like Matt Damon. I really do. Yeah? Yep. Uh here's the things. Scarjo is uh blonde. So it'd be it'd be interesting to see her with dark

hair to see if it plays out. Because she did have red hair.

Well, yeah, when in the black widow face black widow.

And when I had red hair, there were there were people who were like, you look like Scarlet Johansson. I'm like, yeah, yeah, I do.

You have a similar nose. I'm just looking here. Yeah. You can see it. I mean, there's there's definitely some subtle resemblance.

Wait till I do the black widow pose, and then you're seeing that. Then you're really gonna think that. Yeah. You're gonna be like, whoa, I didn't know who's you.

Totally different mouth. So but you you both do kind of have the what do they call that? Like a cupid's bow, that top lip. This where it yeah, is that what that's called?

Sure. I think that's what it's called. I think you she's got it, she's got like I don't I don't know if it's actual the lips or if it's just the lipstick that maybe she puts on a little higher than her actual lip. I'm a little torn on how she does her lipstick. Because sometimes she has the the thing, and then other times she doesn't.

I'm gonna put I'm gonna do a side by side of you and Matt Damon, and then I wanna see with hair though.

You gotta I have to have the hair.

But you can't just have a hat.

I don't think it's gonna look the same. Do we have a picture of Matt Damon in a hat?

I was just gonna say that. You wouldn't let me speak. let me speak.

Matt Damon wearing a hat. Oh, yeah. Oh, it's of course it's a Boston hat. Well done. Of course it is. Well duh. Yeah.

Um, except he's gotta have his beard too. He has to have a baseball cap and his beard, and all of these he doesn't have a beard. Matt Damon, you're really messing this up.

Matt Damon get a beard. Come on. No, I'm gonna post to side by side and see what people say. All right. I think you do. I'm married to Matt Damon.

No, you're not married to Matt Damon.

You want to tell everybody what you did last night? Because it was silly. You're you you walked into the bedroom to get ready to get your stuff to go to the gym. So this is after dinner. This is like the later in the evening, and you walk in the bedroom, and I'm standing on the uh side of my bed grabbing my stuff, and I hear thump thump ow! What made a thump thump owl noise? I mean, it was you, but what made you make that noise?

I tripped over some 10-pound weights.

That's right. They were right in the walkway. And I and I'm thinking to myself, I've lived with you, I've known you a lot of years. I know that you fall going up the stairs, sometimes you fall going down. Sometimes you just stand in there and you fall down. Why would you deliberately put something right in your pathway?

Rewind. Because I pulled them out. They were kind of tucked in between our like blanket basket and our dresser. Correct. I pulled them out. I said, hey, you know what? I should take these to work in the morning and then in between breaks. Here, you want to bring them here.

Yeah, I wanted to bring him here. So you can do workouts. Yeah, so in between breaks, I could like make the most of my time and like lift some weights.

Because normally, like the most we do in here is studio yoga, which is where we stretch. We've got we've got yoga mats in here because it's nice in the morning. You can lay that out and you can do some stretches. So we do studio yoga.

Well, you haven't done it in a very long time. Just did it the other day. Um, so I pulled him out, put them in the middle of the room because I was like, I'm gonna forget these if I don't put them where I can see them. So I pulled them out and I said, I better go tell Josh that these are here. You're worried about I know this is.

You're worried about me tripping over them?

Listen, I said, because he's gonna go, he's gonna come in and trip over these. And then I went, nah, girl, he's not gonna, he pays attention. He's not gonna trip. So I didn't say anything. And then I completely forgot they were there.

Ow. That's what happened. And I went, what did you do? And you were all hunched over because you stubbed your toe pretty good. I did. I think it's kind of two 10 pounds. It's my fault.

Yeah, because the fact that I didn't see it. Hold on. Listen, the fact that I didn't tell you where they were there.

Show me some logic. I totally forgot. In how this is my fault.

I just told you. No. Because I was gonna tell you that they were there, which was gonna jog my memory that they were there. But because you're observant and don't

trip, I didn't tell you, and then I forgot they were there. So yeah.

They were in the middle of the walkway opening your eyeballs.

What do you mean? And it is not my fault that you put them there and then tripped over them yourself. Where are they now?

I have no clue. You moved them because you were like, I should probably move those. I don't know where you put them. I don't know where I do. I'm sure you'll trip over them somewhere else wherever you laid them. I'm

I am a disaster. No, you're not. You're a party a minute.

I don't know how you did that. And how you came around to the logic that that's my fault.

Because if I had told you they were there, I would have reminded myself that they were there. That's all on you. No. It's on you because I went, he doesn't need to know because he's not gonna trip. Still not my fault.

You you're running around in circles trying to explain away something you did to yourself. Yeah, my toe still hurts. I bet.

So in the morning when I'm driving here to work, I I put on music that is gonna like one, wake me up, two, that I can sing along to to kind of wake up my voice to talk on the radio, and three, that's gonna get me bummed. Wait, you do that? Yeah.

Because by the time we open the microphones, I don't feel like your voice is woken up.

I understand, but it's not for lack of try. Oh, maybe you should try talking. Uh uh seeing.

I but maybe I'm saying you should try talking.

But I don't want to talk to myself. He uses different muscles. Ugh. That's not the point of this story. Okay. The point of the story is that I this morning was listening to a little Foo Fighters, and my hero by the Foo Fighters came on. Great song. Do-do-do-do-do. You know that one.

Go on now. What did you say? Do-do-do-do-do. Okay. What happened?

And I was listening to the drum parts because I'm learning how to play the drums. And I was like, I really want to play this song. And this is a song that I really, really, really want to learn how to play. Okay. And then you pulled up a tutorial when I got here and told you that. You pulled up a tutorial.

I did. So this tutorial is from a guy named Steven Taylor. Uh, and he has a Stevens drum shed drum school that you can uh sign up for. He has like a whole thing where he does drum lessons. Okay. If you like the way he teaches. Okay.

Um, and I imagine if you did that and started from the basics, you might have a better time than then just jumping right into a Dave Grohl drum riff. Uh because this is shoot high, Josh.

If you shoot high, you're gonna land among the stars. Oh, is that right? Yes. I don't think that's how that saying goes. It is absolutely I think you missed half of it. No, shoot for the moon. And then you'll miss wind up among the stars. Something like that.

Shoot for the stars. And then you'll wind up among the moons. I don't know what you're trying to say. But anyway, uh I pulled up this tutorial, and this is a very difficult song to do. Yeah, it is. It's very difficult.

Yeah, he's you he's got all kinds of parts in there.

You were just watching him on the foot pedal, and you're like, I can't move my foot that fast.

No, he's got like five kick pedals. No, he isn't. Well, he was one kick pedal, but he's got like five, he like he hits it five times. I really can't move my foot that fast. You're gonna have to practice. Well, I am gonna. Are you gonna?

I just wasn't sure if you were gonna. But you're gonna.

I he was moving his feet totally independent of one another, and then his hands were doing. I gotta I know I'm gonna get it. Don't even stress about it. I wasn't right now. I'm just doing the one and two and three and two. That is correct. One and two. But don't even. I'm gonna get there. You have to start somewhere, Josh.

I know you do. And you're starting with small bars, yes, quarter and eighth notes. Correct. And he we're not gonna worry about sixteenths yet. This drumming is in sixteenths. But that's my one and a two and a three and a four.

Which adds in the goal. Like that's where I'm gonna get to. That's what I'm trying to say. Because you have to have like something that you're aiming to.

It's your vision, they call that.

That's what I want to do when I eventually learn.

how to play. Your vision is to be Dave Grohl. No.

Okay. Although we do kind of have similar hairstyles. Yeah. If only I was as cool as Dave Grohl, wouldn't that be something? I want to be as cool as Dave Grohl.

Man. You gotta have your drum icon. I'm gonna make a vision board. Yeah. I am gonna make a vision board. Okay.

And I'm gonna put a swim cap on there, and I'm gonna put a drum that Dave Grohl drum on there. Yeah.

I just was thinking, maybe don't start with a Dave Grohl, maybe start with a Ringo Star. And and listen, Ringo, Beatles drumming, still decent, right? Like Ringo's a great drummer because here's why Ringo's a great drummer. He's not trying to show boat. He's not trying to be more than the song needs. He's exactly what the Beatles need in a drummer. He's Ringo. It's just a different pace. And I think that's where you need to be. You need to basic it down.

I'm not listening though, I'm not going for a John Bonham of Zepp or anything. Uh or who's the drummer of Def Leopard with the one arm.

Or who's the drummer from Fleetwood Mac? Have you seen his drum kit? No. Look up the Fleetwood Mac drum kit. Or look up Rush. Look up Rush's drum kit.

Save Rush. Yeah. He's intense. Right. I'm not going for that. Mick Fleetwood.

Yeah, look it up. Look up his kit. His kit is insane.

Okay. Listen, you gotta shoot somewhere, Josh. That's all I'm saying. A little support would be nice. Oh.

He's got a little bit of drums. Have you seen it? Yeah, it's huge. Yeah, it is huge. Like, why's he got so much?

You're doing too much, Mick. You're doing too much. He loves percussion.

That guy loves percussion. Okay. I'm gonna make a vision board. Yeah, did you see the picture of his tour kit? Yeah, I did. That's absolutely insane. I'll get there. I don't think you need to get there. This is insanity. I don't need to get there.

I just need to get to Dave Grohl level. That's pretty high still. I know, Josh.

Maybe get to a Meg White from the White Stripes. Okay. The stepping stones. Yeah.

To get to Dave Grohl level.

Compare Meg White's drum kit to Mick Fleetwood. Look up Meg White's kit. Just real quick. Okay. You need to. It's important. Okay. The Meg White drum kit. Couldn't be more simple. Yeah, that's pretty basic. Correct. It's all you need. Okay.

Okay. She's only got five pieces. That's what I'm saying. I got this. That's all you need. Okay, I got this. She's my she's my baby step. Good. To get to Dave's.

Meg White's a great choice. Good drumming. Right. Well, I guess. Well-known drum riffs.

Guess I'm going to start learning uh the hardest button to button.

Or seven nation army. Like, do some white stripes, and then we'll work on getting you up to where you're in like something else.

I'm going to get to my hero. Don't just you wait. Just you wait. A couple weeks ago, I was talking about something I saw on TikTok where there was a mother who had brought to the dinner table a thing called Pow Chow Wow. Yeah. And the pow was the worst thing that had happened that week. Right. The chow was the best thing. I think you got those in the wrong order. Pau Chow wow.

I think it's chow pow. Pow chow wow. Did you look it up again?

No, I wrote it down. It's pow chow wow. When did you write it down? When I first was talking about it.

So you start by talking about the worst part of your hands.

So that you end on a high note.

Why don't you put the worst part in the middle? No. Like a compliment sandwich. Start with ah, the best thing I ate today is the chow.

So you want to do a chow pow wow. Which is what you said at the table was chow pow.

Now you want to change it to pow chow wow. You want to start on a negative.

Okay. The idea is that okay, so pow is the worst thing that happened to you. Chow is the best food you've had all week, and wow, was the best thing that happened to you. Now, the dinner I made last night was chow. It was so good. You kept saying that. So good. So then, because I was saying this is so good. And I made it too.

Let's be. I cooked dinner. Most of the time when you cook dinner, it is the chow. Okay. I made the good dinner. Okay. So I'm sitting, we're sitting at dinner with the kids, and I said, Pow chow wow.

And they go, What? They hadn't heard of Pau Chow Wow before. No kidding. So I brought it up to them. They didn't like the idea. They didn't submit anything to Pau Chow Wow.

No, they did not like it at all. They went, What is this? But the idea is nice. It's uh what was a uh best thing you ate this week. Yeah. What was the worst part of your week and what was the best part of your week?

Yeah, and they said when I explained it to them, they were like, isn't that something that we should do at the end of the week? I said, Yeah, but we're gonna have a midweek pow chow.

They didn't want to participate at all. But that's why I told you this is something we gotta do after they're out of the house, they come to visit on Sunday for breakfast. And then we do the pow jow wow when we see them once a week for breakfast. I don't want to see them once. I want to see them more often, I understand. I get it, but also don't you kind of

don't want to say them once a week? Kind of a little bit. But also, I don't want to not see them every day. But I kind of know what they want on Sunday for breakfast. You know what I mean?

Yeah, I just wanted someone to play along, and they nobody did. You didn't even submit anything. It's not the end of the week. It was a midweek.

You just really wanted to talk about how much you liked the meal. That's really all you wanted. Because you just kept saying this one's so good. I'm giving this one a five stars.

This one is so good. You said it like four, five, six times. You just kept saying it. This is so good. This is the best. I'm having a this is a five-star meal. Ah, this one is so good. It was so good. It was super fun.

I kind of just was maybe fishing for somebody else to say, Mom, you think you've on to me? You get you guys. No kidding.

I've I've met this compliment fisherman before. I know her. I really like this dress. This dress looks great. Yeah. You keep saying that. I give this dress a five out of five. So my dude tell me. Your love language is words of affirmation.

100%. And I need them all the time. I know. It's a little crazy.

Would you rather this or that?

Would you rather have a summer birthday or a winter birthday?

I have a February birthday.

You have a winter birthday. I have a spring birthday.

I'm a I'm a Pisces, so I don't want to change that. I feel good about where I'm at in my zodiac. I don't feel like I fit the vibe of any of the other ones.

I'm pretty set in my Pisces way, which is a Pisces trait. So I'm gonna stay where I'm at and be I'm very comfortable. Okay. That being said, I do wish I had a summer birthday. Yeah. Because there's way more stuff you can do for your birthday. Yes. Activity-wise. But then in February.

Summer birthdays, you don't get to celebrate in school. Okay. That was important to me. Oh it was? Yeah, I wanted to be recognized on my birthday in school. And I was because my birthday is early May.

Right. So that was always, but I knew people whose birthdays were in the summer, and they were always upset that they're and like maybe their class would do like the like the last week. They'd be like, okay, let's celebrate our summer birthdays. That's not your actual birthday. I don't get it.

I don't know that the school ever did that. Like I don't think in when I was in school, I well, you went to that rich school, so they probably why.

I sure did. Had a fancy name. Dwarch. That's it. That's it. No, no. It was not fancy, nor was it rich.

So I went to first grade at Good Cell Elementary in Shelley. And uh they didn't, I don't remember them being like, It's Josh's birthday. I don't remember that. Ethel boys for second and third grade. And I don't remember I I was student of the week or month or whatever it was.

You always have you always find a way to insert that in. You always have to let us know you were student of the week in second grade. And I got a pencil.

And then uh Fox Hollow for the rest of my elementary, and I don't think we did anything there.

That was a crowning achievement for you.

It was a big deal. And you want to know the crowning achievement of Fox Hollow? Say. During the fall carnival, my family won free lagoon passes once. Hey. And that was a big deal.

I'd never heard that story.

That was huge for my family. Winning a four-pack of lagoon tickets when you're in like fifth, sixth grade. Huge. Yeah, that is big. Huge. Big win. Big raffle win. Big time. And we went. I know. Big time.

Uh okay. I'm gonna stick to my birthday that's in spring. Because sometimes it's warm. I'm a tourist. Yeah. And I get that in Zodiac. Stop it. The characteristics of the tour. I don't talk like that.

I don't say it like that. You're ridiculous. I would prefer to have a summer birthday because there's more activities outside you can do on your birthday. Yeah. People are available. It's harder to get a hold of them when you're young for sure. But like now as an adult, yeah, it'd be fun.

As uh as a kid, I don't know that it made a ton of difference, but it would be nice to have everybody gather. I'm glad that I don't have uh birthday next to a holiday. I feel bad for our son. I know his birthday sometimes is on Thanksgiving. Uh which is that's the way it goes.

We certainly did not plan that one.

Well, no, we didn't at all. You don't. You don't go, oh well, let's see. Well, no, we can't. That's the nine months from now is Thanksgiving.

Yeah, it doesn't fit in my time frame. Can't have a kid now.

You just you don't pick.

Yeah, but Emery's birthday is right after school starts. That is true. So when she was younger, it was like, who are we gonna invite to your birthday party? Because you're just young and you

don't know who your friends are gonna be in your class yet. Right.

So that one was always a struggle, too.

But she's also older than everybody. Both of our kids are older than most of their classmates, which I think works out in their favor. I think that's a good place to be. Agreed. Yeah. Anyway. Enough about that.

Would you rather this or that? The street that my mom lives on has several speed bumps that you have to go over. Um, and for a long time they were just the same color as the rest of the road. And I drive down the road often enough, you'd think I'd remember that they were there, and then my teeth click together, and I go, Oh yeah, speed bumps.

You can't see the raised part of the road.

Uh, we have a problem then. What's the problem? How do you not see the raised part of the road? They're on a curve.

You you I wish you would have driven over them. I have. I have. In the truck?

Maybe that's part of your problem. Maybe your truck is too big. No, no. Maybe.

No, it's not that. No. And it's not like I haven't like lifted to the sky or anything. It's just the stock truck. But it uh all of a sudden I go and I go, Oh, come on, speed bump.

Where did you come from? So for a long time I've been I've been complaining like somebody needs to paint those things. Like they just need to throw some lines on them or some sort of like, hey, there's a bump here. Because they disappear. And I I've driven over them uh a thousand times and forgotten about them. So I got a text this morning. They've painted them yellow.

Oh, good. Just for you. They were like, we're tired of watching this guy in his truck. Yeah, yeah. Plow over these. Yeah. So now they're they're very yellow.

Uh they painted the whole thing yellow. They didn't just put lines on it. They were like, nah, let's go for it. The whole bump is yellow. And I'm kind of into it. Kind of like, yeah, I'm gonna be able to see that bump now. We'll see.

We'll see. There's like three of them I have to drive over on the road to get to her place, and that's just like too many. Just pay attention. What were you driving? Can't be bothered.

I don't understand how you miss them. There's They sneak up. the road is clearly different on that part.

You'd think that, but you don't see them. They really blend in. No, but especially when the sun is high. There's no shadow.

It's just it just looks like road. And then all of a sudden you're going and you're bounced on.

all around. It's just a higher road. Yeah, I know that.

That's how a speed bump works. I get the roads a little higher for a foot. I know what a speed bump is. They just are hard to see. So I'm excited that I'll be able to see them now. Okay.

Well, congratulations. Do you think they did that for just you? No.

They didn't do it just for me. I guarantee I'm not the only person in town who's driven down this road and went, I didn't see that speed bump. I didn't see that one either. And then you go to the third one, you go, there's a third one. I know it.

And then you go real slow over it. Uh but the first two got me. So that's exciting. Uh they're they're they're gonna be uh more visible, and I like that. Okay now, how do we get them to install the big sort of flatter speed humps on our road so that people will slow down?

We absolutely could have used some speed bumps on our road

because it's so wide and it's straight. And long, people go like real fast. It's 25. Yeah, it's a residential street. Yeah, and I'm telling you, people are going 40 plus down that thing all the time. There are kids on bikes, there are kids on those electric scooters.

Like that it's a situation. And I would like some of those bigger speed humps, is what I would like. They're they're kind of short, but they're enough that you go, hey, my car is not gonna like to go over this faster than 25. I want those. Who do you petition?

It's this city, city. City. Put them in on my road. I want to, I want those. Okay. How many would we need?

I'm just thinking. The length of the road. More than three. I think we would need, I'm gonna count one, two, three, four. I bet six. Well, that's a lot. From from one street to the other street, six.

I think you're probably gonna have to petition the city, and then they're gonna say, best we can do is three.

You oh, I'm shooting for ten then. I want ten. And they'll go, best we can do is six. And I go, I'll deal with six. I don't I can I can make this work. No, no, it works. I don't think you get to choose how many ghosts on there.

I think they have to look at the budget. They have to determine what's necessary. And then come on now. Why are you bringing logic into this? Just put in speed humps

with the signs that say speed humps. Speed humps. Yeah. That's what I want. That's all. That's all I ask. Hey, tomorrow's Friday. Yippee. Uh, we're gonna wrap up today's show. Yeah, let's hope you have a great rest of your Thursday, and we'll see you back here, mana.

That's tomorrow. Adios. Okay, that's goodbye. And we'll see you later. Bye.
