Relinde:I'm going to give the most and the best insights that I have had in the past 10 years of running this business and in the past one and a half years of not doing any of these live 4 day trainings and everything that has evolved for me, for my clients in the industry, for my business, I'm going to jam pack it into 4 days and get you the best strategies right now to really create a purpose driven business that allows you to prosper in many different ways. So today I want to talk about limiting beliefs and a lot of people nowadays talk about limiting beliefs but I see 5 myths about limiting beliefs that keep entrepreneurs stuck that keep you stuck. That keep many people stuck and it's really myths and it's really keeping us in a loop and I just wanna talk about it.
Relinde:So what is a limiting belief? A limiting belief is a thought, a belief in your subconscious mind that states something that you does isn't helpful for where you wanna go and that is why it's limited. Limiting. So your subconscious mind doesn't think oh this is a limiting belief and this is an empowering belief This is how I call them limiting and empowering because that is what it is and when do they show up? They show up when you really start wanting something.
Relinde:So I always say, like, if you just are as you are, you like to live your life every day exactly the same and not change anything. Most probably your limiting beliefs, your beliefs, they just don't bother you. Most probably the people that are in that state, they are usually really believing their beliefs to be the truth and maybe even the one and only truth. Great. Then, you know, this is not for you.
Relinde:But if you are somebody who wants to grow, you wanna grow your business, you wanna grow in life, you want to grow as a person, you wanna shift to being in a different place to where you are right now, you want to continue evolving yourself and your business, then you're going to run into limiting beliefs. And again, they're self limiting because they don't align with that other identity, that other version of you that you want to step in. And those beliefs live in the subconscious mind. One of the the myths already that comes up for me right now that I didn't even prepare in that way is that I heard people say a belief is just a thought that you keep thinking. Now, I actually do not agree with that and why is that?
Relinde:I work with my clients on a very deep subconscious level with beliefs. In the work that we do we are sitting for about an hour in a deep theta brainwave. We're slowing down our brainwaves because that is the place where you can actually access your subconscious mind and that is where those beliefs kind of live where they where they are and they get formed in the first 7 years of our lives they're on in our DNA you've got them maybe even already before you were born but they are in your subconscious mind because they are kind of automatic pathways, right? So I have had so often for myself and for clients that somebody has a belief that they don't even think they think it's not conscious. You're not consciously thinking.
Relinde:Maybe some of them, oh, again, I couldn't do it right. Maybe you're thinking that often could be but I found beliefs in myself again and in my my clients where people say you know what? I don't really resonate with that and then we check-in with the subconscious mind and it's actually absolutely there and then it seems turns out to be a very important belief to shift so somebody can say no I feel worthy I know that I'm worthy I know that I'm a worthy person but it can still be that the subconscious mind somewhere believes I'm not worthy okay Or I'm only worthy when I, have so much money or I'm only worthy if I work really hard like anything like that. So those beliefs are definitely there and they're not always just a fall that you keep thinking They are deeper than that. So how do they form those beliefs?
Relinde:Just a little bit about that. Let me give you a very personal example. Before I was born, my father left. He and my mother had decided not to have children but then with some sort of miracle my mother wasn't supposed to get pregnant but she still got pregnant and she really didn't want to have an abortion so my father really didn't want to have a child. He tried for her to basically get rid of the baby, me, and she didn't really didn't want that and he left as a result.
Relinde:So what that did if I look back and I didn't know that back then even though I was so welcome and loved by my mother a part of me believed I'm not worthy because my father didn't want me I'm not worthy I'm not welcome even parts of that like I'm not supposed to be here and I've had my fair share of depressing moments in my life to work through that. It's really something that I think being well into my 20s that I started to learn that this is something that I needed to shift deeply on a deep level. So a limiting belief can simply happen through an an action of somebody else like that. Did my father try to teach me that I was not worthy? No.
Relinde:Not at all. Most probably he has a similar limiting belief for himself and that is just how he couldn't show up. He was not able to show up. I know that consciously, but I had to really change that belief. And this is how we can see beliefs shaping by bigger events like this or by smaller events in our life.
Relinde:But those beliefs become really important. One of the things I do with my clients that I've become really good at and that I really enjoy is listening to somebody speak and I hear the limiting beliefs underneath that and again they're not always logical and very often we don't see them ourselves. So a belief is just a thought that you keep thinking? No. Because sometimes you really don't think that thought.
Relinde:And if you already think it, you most probably don't see it even as a belief. You think it is the truth. So a limiting belief really is something that lives in the subconscious mind and the subconscious mind is a part where things go automatic. Like, the subconscious mind is really good if you, know how to drive a car. You know, in the beginning you had to learn how to do it.
Relinde:All these actions simultaneously, watch the traffic, shift gears, put your foot on the gas pedal, like things like that. You have to do those things after a while that goes automatically. And that is same as it goes with these beliefs. Like we respond to certain things in life automatically. Why do we think from that belief runs a program and that runs another program and another program and that's all connected.
Relinde:And this is how we shape how we show up in the world and how we think about ourselves. In other words, what I, our identity is. So really that first myth that I just already talked about is beliefs are just a thought that you keep thinking. No, they are not. They are so much deeper than that.
Relinde:And very often we are not aware of it. How often I have people just by finding out the belief again we ask the subconscious mind we have a beautiful way you might notice where we do, something called muscle testing to test is this belief actually active in your subconscious mind and how often it happens that people already start crying when we find it. Because they didn't think of it rationally to be a belief that is in the way but that when they test it or when they really hear it or see it, they they feel like oh my gosh. I believe like I'm happy. I'm happy.
Relinde:I'm allowed to be happy. I'm like hey, I'm allowed to be happy and then when I test it with somebody and it's a no I'm not allowed to be happy then all of a sudden they start to already cry and that is when we can start the session. That is where the session starts. And that brings me to myth number 2. So myth number 2 is that you can simply replace a limiting belief with positive thoughts.
Relinde:So that would be so easy, wouldn't it? If I find out, you know what? Oh, maybe I don't feel worthy in his life. Maybe I think that I'm not worthy. Let me change that.
Relinde:Let me just believe I'm worthy. Okay. I'm worthy. That is not how it goes and that is in a way for good reason. So as that really complex body mind system of our beautiful body works as far as I humbly think to understand of it because it is absolutely magnificent but what it does is it shapes those beliefs and it's not just a belief there's all kind of things attached to that belief.
Relinde:So let me give you an example. If I feel not worthy let's say I shape that belief of I'm not worthy And I just want to say to my brain, I'm worthy now. Then the brain is going to be, or the nervous system or wherever exactly that is in every cell of my being where that is programmed, it is going to be like, now, wait a minute. You didn't feel worthy, which then made that you started to work really hard and you were always a good student and that got you really good results. And that meant that you could do the studies that you really wanted to do.
Relinde:And that meant that you could do that. And you weren't really good. Talented at ballet in the beginning, but you worked so hard that you made it to be a professional dancer. So, and that all was because you believed you didn't, you're not worthy. That's what the brain says.
Relinde:And it's like, let's not let go quite of that belief of not being worthy because it has a lot of benefits. It drives you to do things. And that is an example of one of the reasons why your subconscious mind might say, I'm keeping that one. It really helpful for me. Another one that you might relate to for people always is very easy to understand is that if you have a control thing, so you always want to be in control and you really believe that being in control is one of the most important things then there might be so much benefits from that.
Relinde:People that have the belief, I must always be in control. People that are quote unquote control freaks, they often have are great achievers. So why would they let go of that belief of having to be in control? Right. They wouldn't because it would lose them too much.
Relinde:It would break too much. It would get rid of all the achievement. And that was the same for me. So but then you can talk to ways to the subconscious mind where it can see that you can actually let go of it and at the same time achieve. That's where the freedom comes, that's where the liberation comes like wait a minute, is that really true?
Relinde:And by the way if you I talked in the beginning of this podcast about the purpose and prosper experience that is starting on Monday, November 18th and if you're not signed up for it, make sure to sign up for it because I am going to go deeper into this belief shifting process in the experience as well and that is always my favorite, one of my favorite days, one of my favorite topics to talk about and I'll give you hands on exercises and hands on things to do in order to shift your beliefs on a deeper level. Myth number 3 is another end of the spectrum. So some people say just shift it just start to do these affirmations and it will change and it won't. I just gave you one of the reasons why it won't. There's other reasons out there that we need to like really go deep into.
Relinde:But method number 3 is that you can't change them. That we are as we are this is just how I am. People say that this is just who I am this is just what I'm, you know, how I respond to these things or this is just what I can do and I cannot do this and that is never true and there's actually evidence of that. There is a book that is called The Brain That Changes Itself and the book was, you know, it's not even that long ago that we understood that we can actually literally change the brain. So there are synapses there's connections in the brain that give these fast pathways that are those beliefs those subconscious fast pathways that can be really useful as I said like when driving a car for example but can be not so useful if it is a pattern that we want to let go of but it can literally shift so by changing your beliefs you will actually literally change your brain so it's not true that they can't change.
Relinde:Then there's another myth myth number 4 that I see is that it takes a lifetime to change your belief. I hear people say if you have been like that for 40 years, for 30 years, for however long it's going to be really hard to change it and that's actually not true. This is why I love subconscious work and energy work because we go into a realm where you can shift in a moment, in an instant. And again, the shift might still be gradual because there's a lot of beliefs and there's just a whole system of all the things that we believe and that we are and the identity that we've built. It's not like, yeah, do one session and next morning you're a successful millionaire.
Relinde:Like, it's not like that but the belief itself and the deep inner shift, yes, It can a 100% from my own experience and from hundreds of clients that I've done this work with change in an instant. And then you keep doing the work, but it keeps making space. It keeps shifting things that you once thought were just some way. And there's another myth, myth number 5 where I hear people say, you know what? But the ones that come from my family can't change.
Relinde:My family just is this way. This is just how we are. This is how I have been raised. So it's really hard for me. Now I first thought that out.
Relinde:Now I first of all wanna empathize with the fact that beliefs that come from your family might be harder to change because it was so clear that your family believed the same thing or you were taught that you're not good enough by your father literally or any way that you see but this is just something that runs in the family. It is really something to be that person who makes the generational shifts and says it ends with me, I'm doing something else. There's deep work there. But again in the work that I do that I call embodied vision, the work that I do with my clients on this and I call it embodied vision because you can embody your vision when you step into the identity of the vision of the person that has that vision. Therefore you have to shift those beliefs.
Relinde:But what I do there is that we go through any and all people and places that have taught you your belief that have shown you that belief in some way and we actually shift that on a deep level as well. So it can definitely change other techniques that do this for example EMDR anything that goes into deep subconscious mind and takes away these things that we think yeah, but I can't do that because this is just what I have learned. This is just what I have seen. This is the only thing that I know that is a 100% changeable. Yeah?
Relinde:It is always possible to let go of something that doesn't work for you anymore and step to the empowering belief instead like it was for me like my father didn't all of a sudden appear in my life from my birth on like it wasn't all of a sudden there and therefore I knew that I was worthy. They did the work around it and then I found this inherent you know this inner safety and inner worthiness and from that place I can then go out and into the world. I don't have to change other people but you can shift it within. And that is a 100% possible. And if you wanna know how, again, come to purpose and prosper, I'm gonna talk about this a bit deeper in there.
Relinde:Also, there's so many beautiful ways and you might be already doing this. And this is just where I would prompt you know that everything is changeable. Thank you so much for listening today. If you have a vision that feels true that doesn't come from ego or wanting to prove yourself or anything like that but you have a vision of something that you truly desire that you feel your heart, your soul, your spirit, however you want to call it, really desires that then it is there because of a reason.
Relinde:It is there because you are meant to step into it. If there's parts of you called your limiting beliefs that are holding you back that are not allowing you to step into that. There is beautiful ways to actually release the limiting beliefs and embody the empowering beliefs. And again, I offer a way called embodied vision and a part of that, there is a way for you to step into your empowering beliefs. Another really important way to do that is to surround yourself with people who already have these empowering beliefs.
Relinde:I recently had a VIP day with client she literally said: Well, Linda, I actually just want to be in your energy for a day so that I can gonna download your mind. And that is how it works. It is if you surround yourself with people with different beliefs they are kind of contagious, they really are. So it is really powerful to be in a group of people to be led by to be surrounded by people who have the reality that you already desire that you just that already have the reality that you desire and I'm giving you a beautiful opportunity to be 4 days surrounded by empowering beautiful energy and beliefs and strategy in the purpose and prosper experience where we're really going to look at how can you bring yourself really back ground yourself in your purpose, create that next level scalable offer, and then be prosperous, just doing what you're meant to do here in this world. So we're going to dive into that for 4 days, about 60 minutes to 90 minutes a day.
