And we are broadcasting from the Safety FM studios in Orlando, Florida, and coming across the multiverse known as Safety FM. And then we are hanging out with our friends and colleagues over there.

Uh, so let me start off real quick because today's the day. Today is the Friday. Today is the Freeform Friday, but On top of all that, yeah, this is where it's going to get a little crazy, a little crazy for us. 1,400 episodes. 1,400 episodes. 1,400 episodes of the Rated R Safety Show and 1,399 of them that I have actually been on. Yeah, believe it or not. So there you go. Well, I don't know if I should say that because that's not true. That's not a true statement. I've been on 1,399. We are listing this as the 1,400th episode. There are some guest host episodes that I guess we didn't count. I think I had one that I did count, but we'll leave that for there.

Hopefully the last 24 hours or so have been grandioso and you've been able to do some cool stuff. So our show normally consists of safety and the news, news and safety is really the way that it goes. But Fridays is Freeform Friday. So it means that we just talk a little bit about everything that is going on inside of the world of the multiverse. Yeah, that's how it goes. We talk a little bit about this, we talk a little bit about that, and then we kind of go from there. Oh yeah, I've been— I'm being told that I'm supposed to play this. The radio show that's about to begin may feature content that some might consider infantile. We want you to listen anyway. The show starts now. Yeah, I kind of feel like all of it's infantile, but we'll leave it for that. So Freeform Friday means that we're just going to do a little bit of everything, everything I didn't get to do. And if you are aware that I wasn't here for a couple days. So that kind of makes it even more interesting. So I want to say, number one, thank you, uh, for allowing me to, uh, be behind this microphone for 1,400 episodes. Yeah, 1,400. Then I'm thinking about the 777 episodes that we did the other— of the other show, man. It gets a little crazy around here. Okay, so with that being said, let's go ahead and do this, and let's do one of my favorite segments that we get to do week after week. And I want to talk to you real quick about the week in review. So let's do that real quick.

A new front in Europe's battle against the flames, with fires now in southern England. A country where outbreaks are rare now facing a major blaze amid record-low rainfall and scorching heat. While in southern France, fire retardant dropped near the village of Brignon. The village is home to George Clooney and his wife Amal, who say they were forced to evacuate their 18th-century manor house. Clooney writing in a letter to the mayor, whatever happens to our village, we're part of this community and will be part of making it whole.

Investigators are looking into a cyberattack impacting more than 30 water systems in Minnesota this week. Sources tell CBS News that investigators are trying to determine if it is the work of Iranian hackers or Someone trying to make it appear to be Iran-based.

LeBron James announced that he is signing with the Philadelphia 76ers. That's right, he's moving from LA to Philadelphia to shoot hoops. It's a reverse Fresh Prince. Yep, there you go. A reverse Fresh Prince is definitely what it sounds like, no doubt about that. So there you go, weekend review, kind of the way that it goes in regards to how we do our things. So there it is. So by the way, just in case if you're not aware of this, there is a video stream aspect to the show that we do, or there is an audio stream aspect depending on how you look at it.

as I hit the desk— uh, followed by a video stream, or really a podcast, and then we kind of do the video stream. But because of technology changing, and I remember, uh, Many, many, many moons ago stating on how this would be eventually video and audio combined. So now the podcast catchers are catching up in the world and allowing us to do this. So I'm going to tell you on a good chunk of them, we are doing video and audio. So you're able to flip between the two. Apple Podcasts will probably be the more popular one that we do. From what I'm understanding, there is an available— there is availability to do either on Spotify, but currently we do not have that. on Spotify, but on the majority of the other ones we do. And then of course we've had the YouTube nightmare in regards to what we've been doing there. Not anything wrong with YouTube. It's definitely on our end on what we, uh, what we have. So apparently we've been able to fix some of that stuff. So we'll see how it goes.

From Feature Story News in Brussels, I'm William Denslow. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez is travelling to the North African enclave of Ceuta Friday, as the death toll from a mass border crossing rises to at least 18. Thousands of people overwhelmed frontier guards Thursday, crossing into the territory, prompting Madrid to deploy troops and specialist police. The crisis has also triggered a diplomatic row with Italy, after Rome's Deputy Prime Minister called for Spain to be suspended from the Schengen area. Ross Cullen reports.

Residents in the Spanish territory woke up on Friday with thousands of Moroccan immigrants sleeping in the streets after huge numbers of people overwhelmed a small brigade of Spanish frontier patrols and crossed the border between the North African country and the Spanish semi-enclave. Spain has deployed troops and the Interior Minister is due in Ceuta on Friday to try to deal with the situation which has rocked relations between Madrid and Rabat.

Mediators from Egypt, the US, Qatar and Turkey are meeting in Cairo to try and lock in the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire, after US President Donald Trump announced that Hamas has agreed to a roadmap for disarmament. A senior Hamas official has confirmed the group has accepted the plan, but says its disarmament is conditional on Israel withdrawing from Gaza and allowing reconstruction to begin, while an Israeli official has said the proposed terms are not satisfactory. The deal would require both sides to complete a series of reciprocal, independently verified steps over roughly 7 to 8 months. Simon Marks is a Washington-based reporter following the story from London.

The Board of Peace, which of course President Trump created primarily to try and restore peace and security to Gaza, said last night that Hamas had agreed to a detailed roadmap On the disarmament of its forces and the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza that would follow. What do they mean by a detailed roadmap? Is there a distinction between that and an historic agreement for complete disarmament? Who's going to go in and do the disarming? Who is going to then verify that the disarming has taken place?

Costa Rica's Rebecca Grinspan emerged as the frontrunner in the first informal straw poll to choose the next United Nations Secretary-General. winning 10 votes of encouragement from the 15 members of the Security Council. 7 candidates, 4 women and 3 men, are vying to succeed António Guterres, whose second 5-year term expires at the end of December. The Security Council did not officially release the results, and paper ballots were destroyed after counting. And UEFA, the body that governs European football, has voted to boycott World Cups if the plan proceeds to sell off minority stakes of FIFA. The body's president has defended the move and says it could go to a vote of members. From bureaus worldwide, this is FSN.

With FSN Spotlight, I'm Simon Marks, hearing one more time today from Nate Swanson, the fired US government official who was part of the US negotiating team dealing with Iran before President Trump showed him the door after Mr. Swanson wrote an article predicting the Iranian regime would not capitulate to US force and would instead exploit its control over over the Strait of Hormuz. Where does he think the conflict is going now?

I've heard from really a number of people say, well, we just need to then double down on the military option. The only thing that would actually lead to a regime change or a significant change in Iran's approach is basically, you know, a massive ground campaign. I mean, I think that would be a disaster, and I would advocate against that. But if you're being honest with yourself, I don't see how these half campaigns where, you know, we do these aerial campaigns We think it'll change Iran's calculus. It hasn't. And I think ultimately time is kind of on their side. It's basically a race to see who is willing to endure more for a longer period. And I just, you know, from an American perspective, don't see how we think it's in our interest to, you know, sacrifice American lives, sacrifice our economy for real, no clear strategic upside.

He spoke to Foreign Policy magazine. His thoughts there at the end of a week of more tit-for-tat military reprisals and no indication that diplomatic negotiations are getting anywhere. Polling now shows American voters overwhelmingly think the Iran conflict has not been worth fighting.

So let's get into it. So let's get into some of the information that is happening in real time. President Trump says that he's willing to temporarily withdraw Todd Blanche's nomination for the U.S. Attorney General after Republican Senators John Carroll and Thomas Tillis opposed the confirming of him. In a social media post, Trump praised Blanche as far as a star and suggested he could simply continue serving as acting Attorney General before being renominated after, uh, Corlin and Tillis leave office. The Senate Judiciary Committee postponed the scheduled vote on Blanche's nomination yesterday. Um, says that Corlin and Tillis say that their opposition centers Blanche's support for Trump's proposed $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund and corners over legal protections tied to tax settlement involving the president and his family. Under federal law, Blanche could remain as acting attorney general for a limited time even nominations is rejected, and Trump could nominate him again later. So there you go. You know that there has to be someone who's sitting there just going through constitutional law all the time in regards of understanding what needs to be done next.

I mean, there is no doubt about that. So there you go, there you go. So take a listen to this because, you know, All kinds of interesting stuff happen all the time, so we have to talk about it. A major fight is brewing in world soccer after FIFA President Gianni Infantino proposed selling a 20% stake of the new commercial subsidiaries to private equity investors. The plan would create a $20 billion company to manage FIFA commercial rights, with members nations receiving increased funding if they are approved. After the UEFA blasted the proposed and threatened to boycott FIFA's competition if it moves forward. CONCACAF includes US, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean nations, also criticized FIFA, saying that it learned about the proposed proposal through media reports instead of the consultation. The group also called the process failure in good governance and said the decision affecting the sport would involve all stakeholders. The backlash is spreading beyond Europe and North America. The Asian Football Confederation has also raised concerns, warning the proposed proposal could undermine continental competition and reshape the global soccer landscape. Critics argued the World Cup and FIFA competition should remain under control over the sport rather than private investors. I mean, a lot of people are excited about this, and they were talking about how much growth and, you know, all these people coming to these different countries as things were going on. And I don't know if it had to do a lot with price points, which I'm going to make an assumption there on why people did not show up in the way that people were expecting. It's just one of those weird things altogether as we are talking about it. So there you go. Just some things to hit up, think about, and then kind of move forward with all at the same time. So there you go. There you go. A lot of stuff going on inside of the world. of the multi, because that's kind of what we do. We talk about the multi. Let's talk about this one because we talked about it briefly earlier in the week, but now we're getting into the father of the child. So let's talk about this. The father of the teen who carried out the 2024 shooting at the Apalachee High School has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. Colin Gray was convicted on 29 charges, including second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter, after prosecutors argued that he ignored repeated warning signals about his son, Colt Gray. and failed to prevent firearm access. The sentence comes just 2 days after Colton Gray, 16, was sentenced to life without parole for the September 2024 attack that killed 2 teachers and 2 students and injured 9 others. During the sentencing, the judge said that Colin Gray failed as a parent by not ensuring his son attended school, received mental health treatment, or was kept away from guns despite clear warning signs. Prosecutors argued that those failures directly contributed to the tragedy. Uh, Colt's mother will not face criminal charges, although prosecutors strongly criticized her behavior, including recorded jail calls in which she and her son discussed, uh, his notoriety. Authorities have since then barred her from, uh, contacting him. So hold on, hold on, because I just want to have a better understanding. So the father was sentenced 15 years. Kid goes to jail, life without parole, 16. Doesn't say how old the father is, so I will say that that's not going to be important. Father goes to jail for 15 years. Mother is not held to the same level of responsibility as the father. We'll leave that for a different day. But during a call, they talked about how popular he was, notoriety, uh, his notoriety.

which is— I mean, infamy should have probably been the wording there. And because of this, now they can't talk to each other? I mean, I want to have a better understanding because of course we got a clip of what's going on, not really, uh, the whole thing. So it becomes very interesting because who knows. Anyways, let's continue talking about some other things. President Trump says the Board of Peace has reached what they called a historic agreement that would lead the complete disarmament of Hamas in Gaza as part of the broader plan to end the conflict and improve Israel's security. According to, yes, according to, the Trump agreement would implement in phases beginning at Hamas giving up its weapons, followed by deployment of international stabilization force and a new Palestine police force. The plan also calls for new Palestine governing authorities to work work with the Board of Peace while Israel or Israel's, uh, forces will eventually withdraw from Gaza. Trump thanked Egypt, Qatar, Turkey for helping mediate this agreement and said that the goal is for Gaza to use the base for attacks against Israel while allowing reconstruction and humanitarian aid to move forward.

I mean, I don't, I don't want to say that it's anything else besides that, but what an interesting time when it's all said and done, because I kind of feel like we've had several conversations on things moving forward that haven't happened yet. And I'm not picking here. I am just saying what we have seen till this part. But don't get me wrong, I mean, don't hold me to it, but is this gonna go through or not? That's gonna be the question.

A man who says that he is wrongly detained during the investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Gentry, the mother of Savannah Gentry, is seeking millions of dollars from Arizona authorities. Carlos Palazuelos has filed a notice to claim against the Pima County Sheriff's Department, Sheriff Chris Nanos and Detective Earl Geryong, alleging that he was detained at gunpoint for 7 to 8 hours before being released without charges. The filing is that they required the first step before pursuing a lawsuit. 2 family members are also seeking damage. Daniel Maddox Maddox says that he was handcuffed and held at gunpoint outside of his home in Josefina. Maddox claims that, uh, deputies, uh, damaged her property while executing a search warrant. Together, the 3 are seeking $3.25 million in compensation from the county. So what do you think here? It's definitely an interesting time as we are talking, because what else would you be doing? What else, uh, would you, uh, definitely be taking a look or gander at in regards to some of this? Because I mean, $3.25 million for even a case that hasn't been solved yet. I mean, in the lawsuits coming through prior to anything else. So that makes it even more interesting as we move forward. So there you go. A lot of information going through, uh, in the Coming through the whole thing. So there you go. So what do you think? Does the lawsuit have merit, not have merit? Who's— who really gets to make the determination about that one? That's going to be always the fun part as we are going through the whole thing. I mean, that's the always the weird part about lawsuits. You really never can, uh, make a full determination on what needs to occur and how it needs to happen going forward. That is the fun part. I mean, I never know exactly how to look at some of these things, and that's kind of the, the strangeness of the whole gig. When it is all said and done, what exactly are you supposed to be looking at? Like, do you have to wait for the case to be determined? Because imagine this, imagine that there is a lawsuit that goes forward, which this is kind of what we're talking about at the moment. And hypothetically, because it is a hypothetical, You find out that these people that are— that filed the lawsuit were a little bit more involved than what you— than what you thought. Not saying that's the case, I'm just using a hypothetical here. So there you go. That'd be pretty interesting when it's all said and done. Just saying, just something to think about, something to think about here. So there you go. What else do we got? Um, let's see, what else do we want to talk about?

Uh, let's talk about This one, because I— you are aware that school's on the verge of starting in most places. I mean, I shouldn't probably say most places because that's a lie, but we should probably talk about this for just a brief moment. And let's kind of get this set up here because I don't want to blast anybody's eardrums as, uh, we are talking. So there you go. Let's go ahead and, uh, let's do— let's do some techno here. Uh, but a mom of 3 has gone viral after declaring that her children don't do homework and never will. In a TikTok video, she argued that kids already spend, um, 8 hours a day at a school and should be kept, uh, working when they get home. She insisted the teacher's job is to teach, um, just to teach, and her parent— and her job as a parent is to spend time with her kids, not reattach algebra or supervise assignments. The video touched off a heated online debate. Plenty of parents agreed that excessive homework is unnecessary and cuts into family time, while others said that homework teaches responsibility and reinforces lessons and prepares kids for the real world. Many teachers fired back, saying that attitudes like like this contribute to growing frustration in education, where burnout and teacher shortages remain a major issue. So I'm gonna play this for you, and then I got a question. So let's go from there.

It's that time of the year again when I make that video where I let everybody know that my children do not do homework and they're never going to do homework. I'm the parent, not them. My kids will never do homework. They're not going to go sit at school all day for 8 hours, come home and do homework. My 12-year-old has never done homework, my 10-year-old has never done homework, and my 6-year-old has never done homework. They're never going to do homework, and that's just that. And teachers can get over themselves. You teach them for 8 hours a day. If that's not enough time, like, I don't know what else to tell you. You guys always have an issue with it, and we always make it this big deal, and you They always call me in for parent-teacher conferences that I don't attend because I don't care. Like, literally, your job is to teach them at school. I'm not teaching them at home, otherwise I would be a homeschool teacher. Got it? My job as a parent is to play with my kids. Your job as a teacher is to teach my kids. Therefore, once again, homework isn't happening. First off, I don't want to do it in the first place. Like, I don't know how to do algebra, and I'm not going to learn how to do algebra. Y'all can do it. If you want my kid to do homework, have them do it during recess or something. I don't know how you're gonna do it, but I'm not doing homework with my kids.

While an Israeli official has said the proposed terms are not satisfactory. The deal would require both sides to complete a series of reciprocal, independently verified steps over roughly 7 to 8 months. The Security Council did not officially release the results, and paper ballots were destroyed after counting. And UEFA, the body that governs European football, has voted to boycott World Cups if the plan proceeds to sell off minority stakes of FIFA. I mean, I think that would be a disaster, and I would advocate against that. But if you're being honest with yourself, I don't see how these half campaigns where we do these aerial campaigns, we think it'll change Iran's calculus. It hasn't.

Okay, so there you go. 51 minutes past the top of the hour as you and I are hanging out here on this lovely, lovely day. Uh, no doubt about that, as we are doing, uh, some questioning things, some things that we have to question, um, as we are going. So let's talk about it because it is Friday. Uh, yeah, let's talk about some movies that are coming out today. So first one is called I Want Your Sex. Yeah, starring Olivia Wilde, Mason Gooding, and Cooper Hoffman. Elliot lands a job for Erica Tracy as her sexual muse. It's rated R and it hits theaters today. Also another movie, kind of a small movie, probably not heard really a lot about it— Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Mark Ruffalo, Marisa Tomei, and Naomi Watts. A forgotten Peter Parker lives alone as a full-time Spider-Man until mounting pressures trigger a dangerous change and a powerful new enemy emerges. That hits theaters today, PG-13. So there you go. So a lot of stuff going on inside of there.

Let's talk about some other things going on. Let's talk about some things that happened back on this day. Back in 1953, the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare is created. In 1981, 42-day-old second Major League Baseball ends the strike. 42-day-old second Major League Baseball strike ends. So yeah, there you go. In 1990, Nolan Ryan becomes a 20- 20th Major League pitcher to win 300 games. In 2018, Facebook discloses it removes Russian-linked networks on sites attempting to interfere with American politics. That all happened back on the dates that I am referencing. Let's talk about some celebrity birthdays that are going on today. Bill Berry turns 68, Wesley Snipes 64, J.K. Rowling turns, uh, 61.

Dean Cain, 60, and Zac Brown turns 48 today. Somebody sent me this one. I don't know if we should talk about it, but we'll talk about it anyways. Uh, the day that they died— on this date, Andrew Johnson died, also Robert A. Taft and Bill Russell. Yeah, he died today back in 2022. So there you go, some weird stuff that I'm not even sure we should be talking about, but we did.

So I guess we'll continue to live and survive that whole thing. Okay. So with that being said, why don't we talk about some other things? Let's talk about some things that you ought to know. Tonight's Mega Million jackpot is for $50 million. Tomorrow's Powerball jackpot is for $707 million. Uh, we normally talk about NASCAR on Friday, but guess what? There is no race this weekend. So I guess that's kind of going to be, uh, one of your things. Also in some other news, the Atlanta Falcons announced that Christina The wife of defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbricht has died after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was the mother of the couple's 3 children, Samantha, Jackson, Jace. Christina was a constant source of support throughout Jeff's NFL career as both a player and a coach. When he transitioned into coaching, she famously put family plans on hold, saying that she wouldn't schedule vacations until he had secured his next coaching job because she knew that the opportunity could take the family anywhere. And then in some other news, Yum! Brands says that nationwide, uh, let's see, cyclopora, uh, outbreak linked to the contaminated lettuce caused by Taco Bell's U.S. sales has fallen, uh, 2% this quarter. The company says the customer's concern over the outbreak had a notable short-term impact on the business. Taco Bell removed the lettuce supplies from Taylor Farms after the outbreak, which has been linked to more than 11,000 confirmed and suspected illnesses. Executives say that the chain's quick response, clear communication with customers, and the promotion like the $1 Mexican pizza have helped restore the confidence. The company believes that sales have already beginning to rebound. Customers recognize the food safety issue wasn't unique to Taco Bell but part of a broader outbreak affecting multiple businesses. So there you go. So what do you think I mean, it's interesting. I mean, I guess Taco Bell and the Yum Brands did the right thing when it's all said and done and moving forward really quick. Okay, so let's talk about some other things. Let me give you some weird facts for today. Males sweat 40% more than females. Did you know this? If you need some words of wisdom for today, be grateful for what you have because somewhere someone is wishing that you That's wishing for the very things that you take for granted. And let's talk about this real quick. Today is the National Mutt Day. Today is National Avocado Day on top of that. And should we talk about the ones that are coming up over the weekend? Tomorrow's National Girlfriend Day, National Respect Your Parents Day. Good luck with that if you're celebrating Girlfriend's Day at the same time too. And then Sunday is National Ice Cream Sandwich Day and Sister Day. Oh, that's right. So just some things to talk about as we are talking.
